Going Down

Rate this book
David Gaines is more than a submissive.
He’s a competent professional with a healthy social life and a promotion on the way. He keeps his sleeves pulled down over his designation marks, and nobody asks questions.

Sean Evans is a dominant, and he doesn’t hide it.
Most people think it would be a thrill to sub for a high level dom, but they’re wrong. It’s all fun and games, until someone gets hurt.

When coincidence throws the two together, the attraction is obvious- but this sub’s not looking for a dom, and this dom’s not looking to play the field.
At least... not at first...

Really torn between 2,5 and three stars.

I *wanted* to like this so much more than I ultimately did.

One thing that fandom writing has going over traditionally published fic is the perfection of the trope. In this case it's BDSM AU. Everyone is either a Dom or a Sub by birth - add your own world-building flourishes at will. It's one of my favorite things ever and when done well it leads to amazing stories.

Going Down nails the worldbuilding. It's easy to understand and not too complicated for a story this short.

The beginning was really promising with a nice frisson of humiliation!kink - I was expecting this story to develop into an interesting push and pull between need and resistance. Instead David gave in to his desire to be dominated by Sean pretty quickly and things proceeded into the expected romance. The kink was fun but overall the impression this story left me with was: Cute.

I'm still glad I read this and would definitely recommend this as nice, wholesome BDSM fun.

Down & dirty Dom & Sub!

Hot damn this book was amazing! Just enough dirty without overdoing it and enough sub and Dom relationship it was refreshing to read.

Character breakdown;

David; the sub the man struck me as anxious and a bit of a control freak. He was also kinda borderline suicidal, I could relate but he had someone to help him out of it.

Sean; I liked this Dom not too bossy not too alpha but the right amount. He looked out for his sub the man had many dimensions.

Pick up the book it won't disappoint, and even get you hot and bothered. No? Just me? Ok lol

Fun, quick read

I quite enjoyed this story. It was an interesting premise that everyone naturally developed physical indicators of their level of dominance. I loved that David's experiences led him to distrust doms, even though he craved them; it made for a fun read to see him learn to hate his submissiveness less and less as he came to trust Sean.

So good

You are designated a sub/dom/switch but also high dom and a high sub with markings on your skin. The main characters find love in a elevator, I was surprised by the character development and how intense the scenes were great first book look forward to more by this arthur.

Not your typical romance. Oh so good though

By no definition is this your typical romance and is heavy on BDSM with the emotional side coming in later. With that said, this is a great story and you find yourself wondering about the world that is created.

I found this story very interesting ,I love the whole idea of them being marked as Dom or sub. The story could have used way more detail but as it seems like this author's first book I'm sure that will get better with time. I will be excitedly awaiting this author's next book.

Interesting Dom/sub story

This is an interesting universe where you have Dom or sub markings that soar when you are of age. I like the story.
