রাখালদাস বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় (১৮৮৫–১৯৩০) ছিলেন একজন বিশিষ্ট ভারতীয় প্রত্নতত্ত্ববিদ, ইতিহাসবিদ, অভিলেখ বিশেষজ্ঞ এবং সাহিত্যিক। তার জন্ম মুর্শিদাবাদের বহরমপুরে। ১৯১০ সালে তিনি কলকাতা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে ইতিহাসে স্নাতকোত্তর ডিগ্রি অর্জন করেছিলেন। প্রথমে তিনি কলকাতার ইন্ডিয়ান মিউজিয়ামে কাজ শুরু করেছিলেন এবং পরে ভারতের প্রত্নতাত্ত্বিক সর্বেক্ষণে যোগ দেন। ১৯২২ সালে মহেঞ্জোদারো আবিষ্কার করার কৃতিত্ব প্রকৃতপক্ষে তাঁর ছিল। এ ছাড়া তিনি পাহাড়পুরের বৌদ্ধবিহার ও মন্দির খনন করেছিলেন এবং মহাস্থানগড়, ঘোড়াঘাট ও তেজপুরের দহ পার্বতীয়া এলাকায় প্রত্নবস্তু আবিষ্কার করেছিলেন। ভারতের প্রাচীন ও মধ্যযুগীয় ঐতিহ্যের ওপর নতুন তথ্য আহরণ করেছিলেন তিনি। তাঁর স্বল্প জীবনে তিনি বাংলা ও ইংরেজি ভাষা মিলিয়ে প্রায় চোদ্দোটি তথ্যসমৃদ্ধ পুস্তক, নয়টি উপন্যাস এবং তিনশোর বেশি প্রবন্ধ লিখেছেন।
