A lot can change in six years.
Take me, for instance.
I uprooted my small town life to move to Chicago, went to college, and grew up. Too bad I belatedly realized something was missing.
Determined to find myself again, I quit my job and head back to my family's apple orchard to do some soul-searching.

A lot can also stay the same.
Case in point: my brother's best friend, Lawson Westbrook.
Still charming. Still ridiculously handsome. Still an expert at making my heart race in an achingly familiar way.
His desire-filled eyes and seductive promises tempt me to take him up on his offer for a sinful summer.

Lawson may see me differently, but my heart's still vulnerable.
Something's brewing between us, but I don't know if it's happiness or heartbreak.

This h just made me sad.
She was such a doormat heroine!!!

She just took whatever bullshit he said, I mean she said "I love you" first and the asshole didn't even say it back!!!

And you guessed it, as soon as he started talking she immediately got super wet🙄🙄.

But on the other hand he didn't even recognize her when he saw her at his sister's bake sale and he dubbed her the mysterious woman. When he sees her the same day at his best friends house, he doesn't realize it's mystery woman just his best friends little sister. He says that she was too skinny for his preference...but when he realizes that she was the mystery woman through the help of his annoying meddling sister..it's all "let's go" find a place to bang it out.

One thing I did like was that the heroine actually stood up for herself ..in the very end. The hero was a dipshit, he was "scared" of his feelings towards her so he went on an date with another woman. She called him on it but obviously within a couple of pages it's all good, they solved the problem.

However when the heroine's hot best friend who is a straight dude visits her, the idiot hero gets all jealous and treats her horribly, which IMO she acted pretty stupid about, it was super clear he was jealous, She could have easily called him on it. She couldn't be that naive.

This chick was just sad...and the hero was a DIPSHIT!!
One of my pet peeves is body shaming and IMO there were a lot of instances where it was clearly done.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 Stars! (just barely)

A steamy, engaging, light summer read that is adorable in its own right. . . BUT (well yes there is a "but", there are some major issues with this one that had me seriously pondering a 3-star rating but in the end I was feeling rather charitable)

ok so let's start with the. . .

PROS:

🔥 - there is great sexual chemistry between the two main characters which is always helpful

🔥 - Lawson has an 'edge' but is certainly not all alpha male-ish, this makes him quite likeable throughout

🔥 - Mac stands up for herself, has dignity (won't just fall all over Lawson's apologies), and independent. She gets her shit together without being persuaded by Lawson.

now for the. . .

CONS:

☠️ - the author seems young and sexually inexperienced which is good for YA but pisses me off to read. . .for example, the first sex scene especially (& others) are legitimately impossible with clothing or the position

☠️ - the conversations come off as contrived, uses WAY too many words to describe feelings and intent and many of the conversations are unrealistic:

“This is what you do to me, too.” My open palm rests over his heart, and I can feel the rapid thump-thump-thump of his heartbeat. “Only you, Mac,” he says. “Only you manage to do this to me.” . . . come on now

☠️ - Some chapters have titles that direct the reader to whose POV it is and then others don't which is a.) not consistent b.) super confusing and c.) erroneous

☠️ - "hair that looks long, smooth, and is the color of rich milk chocolate" . . .milk chocolate????

wtf meme

☠️ - oh and btw the sun doesn't set in TN at 6pm in the peak of the summer . . .these small errors really add up to show the immaturity of the writer

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ BOTTOM LINE:
Worth a read when your on vacation or in the need of an easy-going HEA that you're not committed to. I enjoyed the story line overall. As time progresses, I am sure this author will step up her game and really have something worthy to swoon over!

Yes, I am the author. Yes, I'm completely biased lol. However, this is my debut novel and if I don't believe in it or love it then I wouldn't expect that from my readers. I believe in Sin and Cider and love it very much. I hope you enjoy my first book as much as I enjoyed writing it! ❤️🍎

What a fantastic freaking book!!! I was in the mood for a small town romance and this book delivered in a big way. I loved everything about Mac and Lawson's story. Everything!!

Genuine, witty banter, plenty of feels, add this to seriously hot sexy times (wall oral anyone - WOWSA 🔥🔥) made this one heck of a read. Also can't forget the best friends and the sister - I have my fingers crossed everyone will be getting a story. I need more from this town.

Cannot believe this is the author's first story - extraordinary debut book & I will definitely be looking for more of her words.

Wow! This is a debut book for K.Reese and this book blew me away!!!! There is nothing I love more than getting lost in a really good book and falling in love with the characters and story and this book did exactly that. I was hooked from the first page!! I fell in love with Mac and Lawson, they were explosive and beautiful together!! I was so lost in this book that I didnt realize how attached I had become to the characters and their emotions until I felt the butterflies for the anticipation of what was to come next or the tears rolling down my face from the heartbreak that took place!! I felt close to these characters. This book had me swooning, laughing and crying! One of the best things was there was no unnecessary drama so I was never pulled out of a moment or from this beautiful story!! I have found a new author to love and I can't wait for the next book!

A stunning debut and a writer to watch out for.

Sin and cider is an easy read that you just loose yourself in the pages. Mac and Lawson are great characters and you can't help but love them. The ending had me smiling happily in my contented place.

Overall, I definitely recommend this fantastic debut. I'll certainly be looking out for more from this author.

I received and ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is so sad to say...but I think I am DNFing this one 😭

I ADORE Nerdgasm so much, so I am very sad that this one didn't work out for me.

I just did not care for Lawson at all. It seemed like all he cared about were looks. Like he didn't look twice at his best friend's sister until she did her hair & makeup...

Also the scene with her parents porch🤣🤣🤣 I could NEVER on my parents porch hahahaha

I might come back to this later, but for right now this hero is just getting on my last nerve.

K. Reese is a marvelous up and coming author. Her debuting novel, Sin and Cider, is a complete page turner from the very first page. The flow of storyline and details of the characters and their world are completely engaging and leaves the reader wanting more from them. Sin and Cider makes the reader want to jump into their world and be with them. Mac has loved Lawson most of her life but unfortunately Lawson realizes that too late. Can he get his act together to capture her heart again and keep it? Read about them to find out.

Wow - fantastic read with characters I couldn't help but love. The chemistry between Mac and Lawson is perfect, and I'm so glad this is a series so we can get more from this great new author. A definite 'feel good' book that will warm readers' hearts, with believable character development and a fresh perspective on a much-told type of story.

Five "You're mine and I'm yours" Stars!!! ❤️

**Sigh**

I don't know how I can possibly write a review when all I want to do is think about Lawson! ❤️🔥❤️

F@&k, he was hot, and the chemistry between Mac and him was insane!

Mac is back in Starwood, Tennessee after being gone for six years. She has recently quit her job in Chicago, and is looking to refocus her life. Enter Lawson, her brother's best friend and her teenage crush. Lawson realizes that little Macintosh Layne is all grown up, and the story takes off from there.

I loved the romance of this book, so much so that I fell in love / lust with Lawson. I loved the romantic dinners, everyday conversation, and I loved their history, knowing each other from childhood, but learning each other as adults.

And when I though this book couldn't get any hotter, it did! Read: Sex in the barn! 🔥

I love a strong heroine, and Mac is definitely one. The way she stood up to Lawson repeatedly and was not afraid to tell him what she thinks was refreshing. I want her as a best friend!

It is rare that I finish a book in a day, but I was mesmerized by Mac and Lawson's story from page one.

This debut book by Kimberly Reese is amazing, and I can't wait for her next book. I'm really looking forward to Langley's story!

Sweet as Apple Pie!

OMG I loved this story! This writer has created a world that I want to visit! And honestly, I wouldn't mind a cup of cider...

I love Lawson and Mac and watching their relationship grow and change was so entertaining. I hated every single time I had to put my Kindle down. I giggled, swooned, wanted to throw things and had heart eyes so many different times throughout.

The descriptions had me feeling like in was watching a movie more than reading a book. They were so spot wonderful.

I absolutely recommend this one!!

Oh my gosh. Where to start? Based on the cover alone I knew I was going to get a steamy read. What I ended up getting was not only a book so hot it could bake an apple (see what I did there?) but also an amazing, heartfelt, and sometimes hilarious story line! Lawson is downright delectable, Mac is relatable (who didn’t have a crazy crush as a teen?) and Langley is freaking amazing.

I CANNOT wait to read her next book!!!!

This first release by K. Reese was a fantastic read!!!

I was drawn in from the beginning, with Mac returning to her hometown and finding her childhood crush doing some work on her family farm. From there we get meddling family members, steamy hot scenes between Mac and Lawson, and just an overall feel good read. There was a bit of drama thrown in, just the right amount. And Mac's best friend CC?? May have been my favorite secondary character. I am really hoping him and a certain heroine get together in the next book.

A phenomenal read by a new author, that I would definitely recommend!!

Mac is determined to make her cider and help her parents. There's nothing better than having an extra hand to help...unless of course it's a guy you've crushed hard on for the last umpteen years...
Insert Lawson Westbrook...a man of one night stands and no do overs. He's bound determined to meet the girl who was standing by his sister at the market... Until he realizes who the backside belongs to...
A well written story that kept me turning the page. I'm looking forward to reading more from K. Reese! ❤

This book was uneventful with the exception of over use of that word & too many darlins for my taste. It wasn’t a bad story but there was no character building, sustenance or connection. All in all I just didn’t see why she liked Lawson because he was too cocky for my taste.

This was a great little debut novel by K.Reese. I really enjoyed it and I was quickly sucked into the story. It has great characters. Both Mac and Lawson were likable and together they were great. It was a book I got into quickly and hours had flew by before I knew it. It was well written and had a great pace. It was one of them books that left me with a smile and I was thinking about it hours after I finished it. It's a beautiful story and I can't wait to read future books by author K.Reese.

Wow. I'm blown away with this debut and I cannot wait to read more from this new, upcoming author.

It's truly hard not to fall in love with Mac and Lawson as this story evolves. The more I read, the more I couldn't put the book down. Sin and Cinder had the perfect amount of love, sizzle and at times wanting to smack some sense into Lawson.

It was such a great, easy read and left you smiling from ear to ear at the end. Even the supporting characters are amazing. All I can say is that I can not wait to read more about Mac's best friend, Cade!

Read this book and you can thank me later ;)

Wow, oh, WOW. I fell in love with this book in a heartbeat. It honestly did not take me long to adore these characters, fall head-over-heels for Lawson, and completely feel the pain of Mac the moment she realized he never thought of her more than a sister.

Youch.

I don't read a lot of contemporary romance novels, in fact, I typically steer more towards fantasy novels. But this is one book I could not put down.

Lawson is Mac's brother's best friend. And she has had a crush on him for ages.

After her high school graduation dinner party, she overhears Lawson admit he will never see Mac as anything other than his kid sister. And holy hell did that break my heart. Learning that someone you have been interested in for a long time essentially wants nothing more with them is a real heart-breaker. It was decided then that Mac would leave for Chicago to pursue her digital design career.

And that is exactly what she does. Until things don't pan out exactly how she wished they would. Mac soon finds herself back home in her little country town for a much needed soul-searching retreat.

What she hadn't anticipated was seeing Lawson again. Or the fact that he now has his sights set on the beautiful woman she became.

One of my favorite things, aside from Langley trying to push Lawson and Mac together, had to have been the intense attraction between Lawson and Mac nearly every time they were together. You could just feel the sexual tension steaming right off the page. Damn Lawson and his Southern charm. I don't blame Mac at all. I would have fallen in love with him, too. Plus he's always calling her "darlin'." Swoon much?

I won't spoil it any further. You guys need to buy this.

This debut novel is a real eye-catcher, showing everyone about growing up and love. Come fall in love with the beautiful Southern charm of this romance novel. I certainly did. And if I could get this as a paperback, man-oh-man, I surely would in a heartbeat. I was also reminded several times of Sookie from True Blood. She is such a cutie-pie.

I was given a copy of this stunning book in exchange for an honest review. The fact that I was given a copy is not a sway in my writing this review.

Love this thought from character in the book.....
Lawson~I can’t see her face since she’s standing with her side to us, but judging solely off of her profile I really like what I see. A lot. Tall and slender, mystery woman has curves in all the right places. Not overly curvy, but definitely not thin, her body is showcased in a tight t-shirt and jeans. Starting at her toes, my gaze travels up her body and I decide this is a body I wouldn’t mind getting to know intimately. As I stare I take in hair that looks long, smooth, and is the color of rich milk chocolate. I wish I could see her face.
Before either of us can say anything else, mystery woman wraps up her conversation with my sister. As she turns and walks in the opposite direction, hair swishing and hips swaying gently with each step , I make a decision. Somehow, I’m going to find out who this woman is and introduce myself.

What an epic read this was. Mind-blowing debut. This can't be a debut. She's a liar. No, I'm kidding. But seriously... WUT?

Brother's best friend... it's been done a million times... I know, right? STOP.
Stop everything you're doing and read this book.

Not only is this small town romance sweet, but it's also hilarious, and HAWT. So hot. So, so hot. I'm convinced that K. Reese is some sex guru, and this is just her side job. Or maybe it's the other way around, because her writing is flawless. Either way... YUM.

Ms. Reese really knows how to tell a love story. She punches you in the chest, demands ALL YOUR FEELS, and then she sets your skin on fire with all the delicious loving. If you're a romance fan, I HIGHLY recommend this book.

Mac and Lawson were relatable main characters. I loved going along with them on their journey! There were moments of love, pain, and forgiveness. As a reader, I felt the emotions along with the characters!

I loved the secondary characters of Langley & Cade!! Langley was such a hoot that I can't wait to read her story in Sin and Sugar!

I highly recommend and look forward to reading more by K. Reese!

I absolutely loved this book and had to remind myself that this is debut novel. Whats not to love about a story of a girl who comes home after being away to find that her big brother best friend who broke her heart is still hot and single. This book is a sweet but hot and sexy , southern , small town steamy romance with the heroine and hero on a journey of discovery about themselves and each other. The characters are fantastic and you just want to know them more. Its so well written that you seriously want to leave this town and it residents. Cant wait for more.
