Book 1: Life’s Second Chances:

Angelina Samuels has lost the only job she’s ever held. A last minute interview lands her a new teaching job just days before the school year is about to begin. It turns out to be the best thing that could have happened when she realizes that her best friend from college, Gabriella Alvarez, is also a member of the teaching staff.

Gabriella’s brother, Alejandro, relocates to his hometown after having lived away from family and friends since he left for college to become a renowned transplant surgeon. He’s settling into a new job, reacquainting himself with family and friends, and is learning to deal ever-so-slowly with the personal loss that forever changed his life.

When Angelina’s sister experiences a health crisis, Alejandro is there to support her and her family. And when Angelina herself experiences a personal tragedy, Alejandro is the only one to guide her through it. As love stares down at them, can Angelina help Alejandro take that second chance on love and marriage?

Book 2: Life’s Gateway to Happiness:

Kelly Samuels is dedicated to her career and has received several promotions in her short tenure at Lattice Works. Kelly’s family is shocked when she returns home unemployed and without an explanation.

Alec Alvarez, a pediatrician from a family full of doctors, is focused solely on his career. He’s declared his bachelor status for life and has no desire for love, marriage, or babies. When Alec finds Kelly stuck on the side of a snowy road, neither of them are prepared for the feelings they begin to have for one another.

As Kelly and Alec grow closer, he wants to know why the once happy-go-lucky Kelly is hesitant to his touch, while Kelly just wants to find purpose to her life again. After Kelly tells two conflicting stories as to why she lost her job, Alec steps in to discover what truly happened. Can Kelly come to terms with what happened to her and move on with her life? And can Alec love enough to give-up his bachelorhood status for good?

Book 3: Life’s Turned Upside Down:

Gabriella Alvarez is the youngest of the Alvarez family. She’s watched her best friend marry her brother and another brother find love. Deep down, she’s looking for love, but she can’t quite shake the college sweetheart that broke her heart.

Dr. Ashton Holder works for the famous Alvarez practice. He and Gabriella have always clashed—she continues to see him only has the rough-edged doctor with no bedside manner, but he’s really made strides to put this image behind him.

When Gabriella discovers a secret from Ashton’s past, though, she does her best to help him uncover something that will change his life forever, but a misunderstanding between them rocks him to the core. When he finally uncovers the secret, he must learn to put his past aside and try and move on with a future willed with hope and dreams.

I really enjoyed this series! Each book is full of fun characters, strange situations, and great romance. A good amount of twists in each story to keep the reader guessing and sweet romances at the end of the day for those fans of HEAs :)

Life's Second Chances is the first in this series by Anne Stone, and is a very sweet, clean love story. Angelina and Alejandro were attracted to each other from the moment they met, although it was adversity that drew them closer together. The emotions Angelina experienced after infection stole her fertility are pretty typical for a woman who knows and understands that she will never have her own child, and the heart break that comes from watching other families with children was well portrayed. Alejandro's guilt over his past, whilst unfounded, was also typical of a responsible man who cares deeply for those he loves. I chuckled at Angelina and Alejandro's antics to keep their extended families from finding out about their fledgling relationship, despite being in their 30's! They were like two teenagers trying to hide their relationship. Certainly, both their families were loud, noisy and caring, the kind of families I would have loved to be part of.

Life’s Gateway to Happiness is a clean, well thought out story, however I did find it very long-winded with high octane emotions running out of control! Kelly’s return to the seat of her family home in seeming disgrace was realistic and one could understand her feelings of self-doubt and questioning of her value system. I would have liked to see her grow a backbone and take measures to protect herself. Alec is the original Alpha male, taking it upon himself to solve his loved one’s problems, not realising that it is enough for him to just be there and offer a comforting shoulder to cry on when required. The whole Alvarez family is close knit and the concern shown one for another is heart-warming, if a little bit smothering. Despite dealing with one of the most difficult issues women have to face, this was a good read with a satisfactory conclusion.

Life's Turned Upside down is a thoroughly enjoyable romantic read with a mystery to be solved. Gabby and Ashton started off on the wrong foot and there was strong animosity between them, reducing both of them to childish attitudes. Ashton's constant teasing of Gabriella by mispronouncing her name riled her up, and Gabby's blundering accidents keep Ashton off kilter. However, when the chips are down, the Alvarez family stand by Ashton, and Gabby takes a personal interest in unlocking Ashton's past. Ashton's childhood was one I could strongly identify with, as I was sent to boarding school as a 10-year old in another country. I too spent school vacations at school and only went home once a year because it was too far to travel. It is no wonder that Ashton became uptight and abrasive. However with the Alvarez family's constant support, Ashton begins to unwind and learn about becoming part of a caring community. Having read the previous books in the series, neither Ashton nor Gabriella were my favourite people, however in this book they both redeemed themselves and became people I would like to meet.

Having read each of the books in The Show Me series, it is a pleasure to be able to review this box set and this is my honest review.

This is a wonderful series of three very good stories.
The first in Ms Stone's series, Show Me, Life's Second Chances, was engaging, thought provoking , and dealt with a few sensitive subjects. In Alejandro's and Angelina's story, we read about loss, infertility, organ transplant, adoption, family support, faith, and love. You will fall in love with not only the main characters, but also the secondary ones.
In the second story, Gateway to Happiness, we are reunited with the Alvarez and Samuels families.
In this one, the couple we spend time with are Alec Alvarez, a pediatrician and Kelly, who works in the IT department of Lattice Works.
Kelly’s sister, Angelina, is married to Alec’s brother, Alejandro, a transplant organ surgeon.
Alec and Kelly meet again by accident , literally, and their relationship develops into a friendship. We find out that Kelly has been fired and is taking refuge with Alejandro and Angelina. She is no longer the carefree , happy person she was months ago.
The deeper plot deals with abuse and sexual harassment in the workplace and the author shows us how it affects the victim.
I have to say I loved Alec and at times found Kelly exhausting.
Sensitive subject was dealt with professionalism, and once again ,Ms Stone shows us that family , loyalty, and love are really what’s important in life. Another thought provoking story.
Book three, is Life's Turned Upside Down. I was a little concerned about this one since the main characters, Gabriella Alvarez, and Dr Ashton Holder act like immature kids and not adults. Once you get past their behavior and get into the storyline, you end up giving them a break and understanding that their actions are a result of past hurts and experiences in their lives.
Taking the step into opening their hearts and discovering love, is huge for them, but once they travel that very rocky and uneven road, their is light on the other side of the tunnel. Apart from the fact that I felt the stories could have been shorter, these were very well written stories.
Another home run for this talented author.
I was gifted this copy. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Loves second chances:
A sweet well written story of 2 people brought together by friendship tied together by circumstances. Alejandro has his own issues but realizes he wants so much more than he has in life. Angelina deals with one thing after another which just brings her closer to Alejandro. A beautiful clean romance (only kissing here) touching and enjoyable story. Although it was a little slow and long the story was well written and the characters well developed. This is a debut novel for this writer and I will definitely read more.

Life's Turned Upside Down:
Ashton is finally starting to fit in with the family after his rocky start when Max was sick. Well fitting in with everyone except Gabriella. But that isn't the only problem. These two do a slow cha cha around each other a few steps forward a few back in and out I almost got dizzy. It is an emotional story that draws more from this author than I have seen in the other books of this series. It is a clean read that pulls at your heartstrings. The story of these two is one you will not want to miss.

Gateway to Happiness:
Second chance stories are always emotional and cut deep. Kelly returns home and although she says she was fired there is more to the story than that. Alec is the consummate bachelor but something about Kelly calls at that protective nature of his. When it comes out what Kelly is hiding it may be too late. There's a lot at stake and while the hearts wants what the heart wants it may be too late when these hearts figure it all out. It just may be that the wrong sacrifices are being made. An enjoyable clean read. That's what I love about this authors books. She does a great job of relating the emotions and story in a way you can easily relate to.

This is a wonderful series of three very good stories.
Book 1: Life's Second Chances
This is a beautiful story of love and overcoming.
Angelina is a charming character, who after facing some bad experiences, ends up closing herself bit for her friends and family, and Alejandro seems to be the only one able to get through this barrier she created to defend herself.
The two begin to spend more and more time together and the feeling between them only grows, but the secrets and tragedies they have both faced threaten their happiness.
And when unexpected events happen in their lives, they seem to be the signal for both to finally give real love a chance.
This is a beautiful story, with great characters.

Book 2: Life’s Gateway to Happiness:
I really liked the characters and how the relationship between Kelly and Alec developed. Despite Kelly's problems and secrets, Alec managed to help her face it all.
It's a great story, with great characters and very well written.

Book 3: Life's Turned Upside Down
I loved reading Gabriella's story, I was anxious for her to finally find happiness, just as her friend Angelina found with her brother Alejandro.
I was delighted to see how the interactions between Gabriella and Ashton have evolved over the course of history, as they were both a bit afraid to lower their walls to the feelings that arose.
And when Gabriella began to unravel the secrets of Ashton's past, things could have gone bad, but with love, understanding and forgiveness, the two of them finally got their bearings.
This is another great story by Anne Stone, and this series is wonderful!
I highly recommend the reading.

Life's Second Chances:
A nice clean romance with a true feeling of something more to life.
This was a very heart-warming story, proving life does offer second chances if you have faith. I did enjoy reading this book, but the story did have parts that were slow or felt that there were already delved into by the characters.

Life's Gateway to Happiness:
I thoroughly enjoyed the continuation of the Alvarez/Samuels family in this series! This is a very heart-warming story with some unfortunate wrongs that are addressed slowly through the story. I did enjoy reading this book, but the story did have parts that were slow or felt that there were already delved into by the characters.

Life's Turned Upside Down, by Anne Stone, is the third book of the Show Me series. I have fallen in love with this family from the previous two books of the series and was so excited to finally read Gabriella's story. This was a truly wonderfully written story that I enjoyed from start to finish.

Anne Stone knows how to write a gripping romantic story filled with suspense without overloading it. The stories are wholesome, quality and fully involved. These stories are always a joy to read and Life's Turned Upside Down is no different.

This review is for Life's Turned Upside Down where Gabby, a school teacher, still holds a grudge against Ashton, a doctor, for the way he treated her nephew and brother. Ashton goes out of his way to antagonize Gabriella and her actions always manage to get a rise out of him as well. They both have baggage from their past which has resulted in trust issues as she was hurt by an ex-boyfriend and his family has never been part of his life.

I look forward to reading the other stories in the set.

Life’s Second Chances

This is the first book in The Show Me Series. I really enjoyed this book it just tugged at my heart strings all throughout the book. I also really enjoyed the relationship that two best friends can have with each other even after years of being apart. This book just really got to you and it shows you that things can change in an instant and it will leave you reeling for a while to come. This book shows you that no matter what hardships you go through if you can keep surviving you will end up on the other side better for it. I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to read more from this author.

Life’s Gateway to Happiness

This is the second book in The Show Me Series. I really enjoyed this story. This story is about Alec Alvarez and Kelly Samuels. I love getting to see characters come together and truly fall in love. This story just had me from the beginning I just felt what Kelly was going through and that no one should have to go through what she had to go through. I love how protective Alec was of Kelly and that if she wasn’t going to tell him what was going on he would just find out for himself and he had a pretty awesome way of going about this I absolutely loved it. In this book not only do you get a new love to read about you get to revisit some of the characters from previous works. You get to see how Angelina and Alejandro and see how there life is progressing and some of the struggles that they still face. I really loved how the author created this world. You get to see some of the past characters but it doesn’t take away from the main couple. I just fell in love with these characters and I can’t wait to read more of this series.

Life’s Turned Upside Down

This is the third book in The Show Me Series and the author has done it once again. She has brought the characters to life and made them real in such a way as to make you fall in love with them and wish that you knew them. In this story you get to see Gabriella Alvarez and Dr. Ashton Holder find their way to each other. It was truly beautiful I can’t wait to read more by this author.
