There are a number of great ideas and suggestions in this book that I will definitely try. There are others that will not work for me, but may work for others. Worth reading.

Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired. Doctor says everything is fine. You know/ feel/ think/ wonder differently. Want to check out other treatments but do not know much or afraid, This is a book for you!!!!! you definitely learn at least one thing from it.

The clarification of the different modalities (treatments), how to use, and possibly put together is wonderful. The author's knowledge base is very evident and has me thinking of checking him out for the test he mentions in the book. Although my book needed just a bit more clarification of TCM, in that organ names are not the actual organ but a system.

Yes this book is for everyone. Someone said a bit simplistic but it is written to get everybody interested and better their health. The language , even though British English - note this, is written so any one can understand. Sometimes even if we think we know something, when said a different way, we learn something. That is why written for everyone.

I highly recommend that you read it with pen and paper handy. Better yet , just read it then come back and reread and take your notes. It is what I am doing. So much material that can be reread for something new every time and as you grow.
Even though i had some very basic knowledge of the types of treatment, I learned a lot.

This is what I want to be when I grow up and I am almost sixty. I have checked out Naturopathic schools for years after recommendation from a NP that understood I did not respond well to Western medicine - what Americans use as normal medicine - MD. Hopefully I will get to ND school someday.

This is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC book.

The Ultimate Remedy?

https://stephen-l-france.com/

My main purpose for reading this book was to better understand the neuroscience, biochemical facts, and the psychological reward of good gut health.

Recently, I’d read and watched powerfully compelling material, regarding the physical soundness and mental stability acquired from intentional maintenance over the gut microbiome.

Reading this book supported all the evidence that’s been mounting up over the last decade about the ‘knowing’ damage created by the food and pharmaceutical industries.

More importantly, the author revealed how the remedy for our physical and mental health is in being conscious of what’s going into our bodies and how we’re using our time.

It’s certainly provocative to learn that our mental and physical health is intricately linked to our gut health; these past few weeks of research inspired by food and drinks company SO PERF https://soperf.com/ has changed my life.

I’ve now become acutely conscious of the food and drink going into me, transcending from a macro viewpoint of proteins, carbs, and fats to a micro perspective of prebiotics and probiotics.

For me personally, the downside of Ameet’s book was any assertion regarding ‘self’-involved activity to improve our mental wellbeing.

Examples include self-love, self-forgiveness, or self-affirmation.

I purposefully ignored these statements as such new age teachings are mere adaptations of greater, deeper theology that recognises we're relational beings, needing interaction with something or someone when applying love, forgiveness, or affirmation.

This adaptation of theology that subtracts the relational part about the human condition, spins ideas like love, forgiveness, and affirmation back onto the ‘self,’ which—simply put—is an incomplete way of life.

It takes away the true meaning of loving oneself, which is actually to show love to another person.

This is vastly different to self-love, which would likely advocate treating oneself to a healthy day at the spa, or in more liberal cases, consuming a hedonistic delight that isn't healthy at all, but grants pleasure and therefore 'self-love.'

Aside from this, the gut health knowledge in this book was a blessing and I will continue to apply this active, conscious perspective to my food choices.

Heal Your Body, Cure Your Mind by Dr. Ameet Aggarwal
Broad Swath of Mental and Physical Health Topics Addressed

The topics that this book explores are vast. The author is a naturopathic doctor and gestalt psychotherapist who practices holistic integrated medicine. All of this is quite obvious when you read the book. The book is split broadly into three parts. The first part looks at emotions, the second how the body affects the mind, and the last covers a variety of topics and healing modalities. He explores mental as well as physical issues and ways to heal each. He does explain some of the science that is the background for some of his recommendations, like neurotransmitters and hormones. Much of the latter part of the book explores issues with hormones, like with the adrenals and the thyroid, as well as common issues like gut and liver issues. I am an RN, and I don't wholly agree with everything that he says in this book, but he has given the reader much to think about, and I do believe he has the right of it in many places. He explores such diverse topics as sex, insomnia, and nutrition. He does give suggestions for different supplements throughout the book and shares some meditative practices. All in all, I found it to be a fascinating read.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

If you wonder how to have a more healthier life, this is the book for you. This delves into your emotional, mental, and physical health and everything in between that affects you. There is a connection between everything that not many people pay attention to. What could be solved with simple diet or supplements sometimes gets turned into something more serious. It was great reading this and knowing I am on the right track to become a healthier person. You won't regret this!

I think this is an excellent resource for healing your body in more natural therapies. I appreciated how the different sections were broken up and each section thoughtfully explained. You can also tell that Dr. Aggarwal is a genuinely caring soul who wants to share his knowledge with the world so that others can live their best life! Highly recommend this book as a great reference source for getting started with modalities, supplements and foods that can heal you from the inside out.

Well written but it’s also simplistic, most people know that food and stress makes a huge difference in your health. That said, there were some great tips on supplements and herbs. Definitely worth reading if you want to improve your physical and mental health.

Great short read without hype, all condensed health knowledge, with sprinkles of quotes from philosophers. I enjoyed listening to it and picked up more knowledge here and there. It also helped me make the decision to reduce coffee usage and dumped the lower quality instant coffee I had in the house; encouraged me to get back to a variety of healthy food diet.

This was an informative book but a little too hippy for me. I picked up nutrition books out of interest and although I appreciated the science backed pieces of this book I wish there were more. I expected it to be more about the direct effects of food to the brain not about changing mindsets etc. It was a book with just a wall of text which made it difficult to read, overall it was alright

I listened to this on Audible but due to the high number of supplements discussed, it might be a better book to have on paper. Helpful information! :-)
