Rate this book
On paper, I'm a firefighter.
But my real profession?
F*cking girls until they scream my name.
I'd never really noticed Molly Peters, the shy, chubby friend of my obnoxious little sister.
Until one day she walks down that street, dressed to kill.
Her voluptuous curves and that s*xy a$$ are begging me to take her.
She's so damn forbidden, but I want a taste of her.
And when I learn that she's a virgin, I pledge that I will be the only one to claim her.
I have no time for love.
A night of fun where I get to pop her cherry is not a bad idea after all.
I will teach her things that she's never known before, take her to places she's never been before.
But Molly's trying to teach me a thing too.
Wait...I said I have no time for love.

Revolting. The whole time I was reading this, I kept on having this idea that I'm being punked, because there's no way anyone would actually enjoy this travesty. Spoilers ahead. .

The Hero is the worst person I've ever had to read about. Slurs like d*ke and f*g are his daily vocabulary. Slut shaming girls he slept with is his hobby. At one point of the book, he even sexually harassed a woman he was on a date with because he was told that she's ""easy".

With that delicious image fresh in mind, I reached under the table until my fingers grazed Sara’s knee. Her eyes flew open and she gasped.
“Alex! What are you doing?”

I grinned and took a long swallow of beer, pushing my fingers higher and higher on her soft, creamy thighs.

“I told you,” I said. “I think you deserve something nice. What, did you think I was talking about wine?”

Sara’s mouth formed a small ‘o’ of surprise and she pushed my hand away, looking indignant.

“I don’t know what kind of girl you think I am,” she said hotly. “But I would never sleep with someone on the first date! I don’t even kiss on the first date,” she said, standing up with such force that her chair fell to the ground behind her. “That’s just not decent,” she said, glaring at me.

I shrugged. “Baby, you fucked Ernie Cousins and had his kid,” I said. “You’re a single mom, what the hell do you think guys think when they see that?”
Sara didn’t reply. She looked stunned – almost like I’d slapped her across the face.
“They think you’re an easy slut,” I said. “That’s what men think when they realize a woman is a single mother.”

He also fatshames the heroine and calls his sister a d*ke regularly. He's that kind a guy who is homophobic but gets off on lesbian porn. I mean, charming, right?
Oh, nothing,” Alex said. “You just seem like a girl who doesn’t like to diet, that’s all.”

“Sorry, Molly,” Alex said. He sniffed. “You’re a big, beautiful woman.”

I snickered. My little sister, in a gay club? All those years where I’d called her a lesbian, I’d been kidding. Besides, even if she was gay, what did I care? Lesbians were hot.

And let's not forget when he was too ashamed to tell his friends he was sleeping with a fat girl.
Uh, yeah, I was busy getting my dick wet,” I said. “Unlike you, I have priorities in life.”
The other guys roared with laughter and Rob threw me an annoyed glance.

“I bet you do,” Rob said smugly. “With who?”

Shit. I can’t say Molly. They can’t know I’m fucking some chick the size of a heifer!

And so many more disgusting quotes, but I feel like the ones I listed are enough to demonstrate how disgusting the Hero really is.

As for the heroine, she's just embarrassing, has no backbone--you know the drill. But what really annoyed me so much was when the Hero's friend was taunting her about her best friend Rebecca having the hots for her (rather crudely) and the thought of it was so disturbing she literally fainted. What kind of craziness is that?

Rob raised an eyebrow. “Oh, yeah, Molly, she’s had the hots for you for years.”

I blinked. My stomach churned and I felt my heart slowly pounding in my chest.

Rob glanced down at my crotch. “Too bad you’re straight,” he said, grinning. “Because I’d pay to see that.”

My eyes rolled back in my head and I passed out, crumpling to the floor.

That little scene was baffling for me to say the least, but what really annoyed me was the last scene with Rebecca, when she suddenly become obsessive with the heroine for NO REASON AT ALL. Throughout the book, yeah sure she wasn't 100% with the Hero and heroine's relationship but I don't blame her because the Hero's a piece of crap.

So it was a HUGE SHOCK TO ME that all of a sudden she started kissing the heroine and started begging her to be with her. It came out of nowhere.

Just as I was about to step away, Rebecca closed her eyes and pressed her lips to mine.
For a moment, I was too shocked to move. Then, I pushed her away and stared, feeling both violated and horrified.

“Oh my god,” I said. “Rebecca, no. I told you, I’ll always be your best friend. But I don’t have feelings for you in that way!”

“Molly, come on, you love me and you know it,” Rebecca said, advancing on me. She laughed. “I know you were only using Alex to make me jealous. It’s okay, you can tell me.

Literally. What just happened????????????

Overall, I hated this book. I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

*** I am voluntarily reviewing an Advanced Reader Copy of this book***
The first few chapters into this book, I was surprised that Alex, the H, who he was suppose to have a hidden attraction for, kept referring to Molly, the h, in derogatory terms...whale, fat, chubby, etc. By the middle of the book, when Alex had started bedding Molly, he still referred to her in the same way.....fat ass, slob, etc. It was to the point of offensive. Alex was 28 years old, was immature, and acted like he was in grade school. Molly had no self confidence at all and belittled herself constantly. The whole premise of the book became way too much. I expect better from Mia Ford and am surprised that anyone would give this book better than a 3star review. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY

Poor Molly is so socially awkward. I felt bad for her, always blushing and thinking the worst about herself. Mia Ford keeps it real, because a lot of women do see themselves that way. Thinking themselves unworthy of attention.
I didn't really care for how dumb Molly was when it came to relationships. Just because you're a shy plus-sized woman, doesn't mean you don't know terms like "friends with benefits" or that girls call boys. Not in this day and age.
Alex is a total tool. You'll love to hate how arrogant he is. He definitely doesn't respect women. He gets a taste of his own medicine, though.
I could have done without Alex's coworker Rob. He's a completely worthless turd. They're interaction about Rob wanting to go out drinking with Alex was just disgusting.
4 stars.

Really?

Ok, so this book is ok.. I only say ok because being a fat girl I really found some of it, offensive. Yes I do believe that a hot fit guy can fall in love with a fat girl, but the fat shaming in this book was off the charts. Instead of listening to it, or even thinking of her like that but still falling for her it just didn't sit well with me. He should have busted noses or something. I don't know maybe it is just a sensitive topic for me since I've been that fat girl all my life. The story would have been 5 stars if they didn't include some of the fat shaming terms.

I was really looking forward to reading this book, the blurb made it sound so good The mean womanizer falls for the chubby friend, whats not to like.
Turns out quiet a lot. I found the writing quiet imature and the way Alex spoke was deeply disturbing even his internal musings were rude and offensive.
Rebbecca's questioning sexuality was handled with as much delicacy as a toddler with a sledge hammer and the idea that her hidden feelings for her best friend would turn her into a raving loony was way over the top.
Molly was probably the most well rounded character (no pun intended), and although Alex did eventually change the way he treated her i still felt more sorry for her than happy for her when he declared his feelings.
I was really disappointed by this book, and although i didn't hate it i certainly wouldn't recommend it either.

1 1/2 stars

Alex is a jerk. Actually jerk is too nice. The things he said were inexcusable. The things he said to molly about her weight were horrible and what because he had feelings for her. This story didn't even make sense to me. I'm only giving thus two stars because you can see the effort the author put into this story. And, it really does pain me to give one star reviews. This is just not the book for me. We have a really weak h and an H who needs to be taken down a few notches.

I like how all the characters are believable/ realistic. The author doesn't try to turn Alex into a fake asshole, rather he's an honest asshole. The only thing I have against the novel is the guy on the cover looks like ANDREW BIRD. I don't wanna date ANDREW BIRD.

Wowzer! The 'Hero' of the book is a disgusting specimen of a character. After taking Molly's virginity he calls her a whale. He uses terms like 'fat' 'lesbo' and 'dyke' like its the norm. Just as awful as other reviews state.

3-3 1/2 stars.

Okay, so I read an advance readers copy for my honest review. As the synopsis says it is about a bigger woman and a hot man that now wants her all of a sudden.
Molly has very low self-esteem of herself but has always had a huge crush on her best friends brother who is a real d*ck to her and everyone else. I can say Alex does treat everyone like crap, not just Molly. And I really tried not to feel sorry for Molly, because why feel sorry for her just because she is a plus size woman. I mean she should be treated the same as everyone else by him. And yes woman that are bigger usually have lower self-esteem and we look at ourselves differently. BUT I wasn't enjoying the way Mia portrayed that in this book. I have read books with bigger girls as main characters and it is stated and on the story goes. But it seemed to be the main thing in this one. When it came to Alex like I said he needs a new personality and finding the right woman seemed to do that, and sometimes it does.

Would I recommend this book: yes
Would I reread this book: no

When the book started I didn't think I would ever like Alex. It did take several chapters. Then finally it was like there he is. Molly has had a crush on Alex for years. Finally they get together. She has low confidence. The only thing I would have liked is her finally excepting she was beautiful. You can be chunky and still be beautiful. The problem with her bestie surprised me. I didn't see that coming. I loved how Mia did the ending. I do love my HEA. The reason I gave it 4* instead of 5*. I know her being BBW was the story line. I hated some of the references. Whale was the one I hated most. The fact that so much was made out of it with his friends, strangers, and his mom. I am a big girl and yes some people are mean. But most of that wouldn't have happened. Other than that the story was wonderful. Full of hot sexy times. Good job Mia. I voluntarily received this ARC for an honest review.

While I lived the story line and the characters, there were a few times I wanted to throw the book. Alex is a self-righteous prick that has had it way to easy in life. When he starts having feelings for Molly, after treating her like garbage their whole lives, he still seems to think something's wrong with him. It takes him a while to realize his feelings were real and not just a trick of the imagination. They have some hot and steamy times, but some of the rude comments from both him and his friends were off-putting. When things escalate with her best friend, and Alex's sister, I was ready to rip her head off. With everything that she's been going through, you'd think her best friend would be happy for her, but she's just gone insane. The fact that they all got their HEA is great, and even though they all went through some rough transformations, they've all found the love they've been waiting for. With every book I've read by this author I've been able to say that I love it. This is one I can say I liked, but I didn't love. The storyline itself was good and there were some hot and sexy scenes. As a plus size woman who has had trouble finding someone to like (and love) me for me I always get excited when the heroine (who gets a good man) is plus size. However, the constant derogatory remarks Alex made about Molly were very tough to read. I didn't feel as though the plus sized heroine was being portrayed in a positive light. Instead, there seemed to be quite a few stereotypes and fat-shaming going on throughout. Without the stereotypes and fat-shaming I would have given it four stars, and because I love this author's other work I will definitely be reading her next release.

A great read about a hot firefighter, Alex, who at the beginning I really really didn't like, his attitude and the way he treated women was bad. Then there's Molly, his younger sister's best friend, who happens to be overweight and he always makes jokes about it to her face. But that doesn't stop her from having a crush on him and when he acts like he is interested in her and actually acts on it, she's stunned. As hard as he tries he can't seem to get Molly off of his mind but there are others who keep bringing their relationship down and try to butt in. Wil they make it?
A steamy read that is a bit different since the woman is not a thin model....refreshing....and a hot man who falls for her and does a complete turnaround with his attitude that I couldn't help warming up to him by the end.

At first I really struggled to like Alex because of his attitude, but he soon changed in my mind. I can really relate to Molly though, a lack of self confidence and self esteem does havoc on a person and their beliefs. Because of her beliefs and lack of self confidence, she is naive in a lot of aspects, especially when it comes to the opposite sex. She has always had a crush on Alex, but never thought it would go anywhere. Alex has a cocky attitude as a firefighter. After seeing Molly one day, he decides he has to have her. Her curves tempt him. Soon his sayings about her weight turn into saying of affection. He even gets the attitude that he doesn't care what his fellow firefighters think about her. They both teach the other things that only love can. I loved this book as well as all of Mia Ford's books. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Shy Molly has had a crush on her BFFs brother forever. We meet Alex and he's a TOTAL d-bag. So it was really hard to want to see these two together. But then the BFF suggests to Molly that maybe Alex can help get her some sexual experience. So when the opportunity rolls around she takes it.

I hated that everyone had issues with her weight, including his MOTHER of all people. I hated the firefighters who were all dbags; I hated that the BFF is really a lesbian and in love with Molly and goes off the deep end when she finally comes out... and I really hated Alex.

There are a TON of other stories in this publication which are not published separately. And they vary greatly... from a second chance romance in silicon valley to an alcoholic millionaire rancher... and that's the just the first two after Thirst.

I am a Mia ford fan. I got this book in another book by Mia. This was an ok story. I was mad a few times about the characters behaviors. I couldn’t fill connect to the characters. There was also a few spelling mistakes.
Overview. Molly and Rebecca grew up together. They were always being annoyed by Becca’s older brother Alex. Nothing changed even when the girls went to college. Molly had a crush on Alex but due to her lack of confidence and being a big girl, she stayed a Virgin. Alex decided that he would visit his sister and Molly. While there, he started seeing Molly in a different light. He now had a new goal in life and it was to take molly’s Virginity. But what Alex didn’t realize is that he was falling for someone for the first time. Molly and Alex were both first time boyfriend and girlfriend. But the love grew and Becca got jealous. Will Molly chose her friend or boyfriend.

Molly and Rebecca were best friends from middle school and now there were in grad school and also lived together. Molly always had a crush on Rebecca's brother Alex.Alex was a player but once he took Molly's virginity it was ll about Molly. He couldn't get her out of his head. He didn't do relationships but wanted to try with Molly. Only thing was Alex wasn't the only one that wanted Molly for their own. Guess who else that was? Not telling that will spoil this love story and what goes into it.
It is a great fun short story that has some surprises in it. Excellent Short Story

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. I enjoyed this book. I liked the story of Alex and Molly. While I liked the idea of Molly not being your everyday supermodel type, but a plus size instead. I felt the way Alex described her to his firefighting buddies a little too much at times. I liked that Alex was able to see past that and eventually realize that it didn't matter what size Molly was she was a great person who you couldn't help but fall in love with. Their story was sweet and at times very steamy and hot. I liked how both matured as they became more drawn together. I loved how everything worked out for everyone. Great HEA.

Mia Ford does it again! In Thirst, we're provided an inside look at Molly--a big beautiful woman--who suffers from poor self image and a forever crush on her besties fireman brother, Alex. Alex is typically a true jerk when it comes to Molly. Thirst is a tale of when worlds collide--literally. Societal norms are questioned; hearts are broken; tears are shed...all the while we readers are flipping the pages as quickly as possible to see what happens next! Get ready to 1-Cluck now as you don't want to miss a thing! (I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book and loved it!!) ❤️❤️

Alex, a firefighter and Molly his sister's best friend end up having a steamy relationship. It didn't start out that way though. Molly has had a crush on Alex for years and finally decides to go for it. Will the friends with benefits turn into something more? I enjoyed reading this book but the name calling was a bit much. It took a while to like Alex but by the end of the book he won me over. This is a quick entertaining read with a good story line. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

I enjoyed the chemistry between Alex and Molly, but I didn't appreciate how Alex made her feel in the beginning, and even after things started to heat up. I'd rather not give any spoilers, but I thought it was extremely cruel and demeaning, and I didn't truly feel that Alex's opinion about the way he saw Molly had changed in any way. I did, however, like the way things turned out, but there were definitely some moments that really gave me pause. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

I hate giving bad reviews, but these may be my two least favorite character's I've ever read. I hated him and I wanted to bitch slap her many times. He's a horrible person and she has no self-respect at all. I'm a big girl and I would NEVER let a man treat me the way he treated her. I sure as hell wouldn't sleep with him and become obsessed with him. People may say these two are believable, I call bullcrap on that. For a 28-year-old, he's got the maturity of a 14-year-old boy. I'm sorry, but there is nothing in this book that I liked. I almost didn't finish it...

Ok, so about this book, I started it this evening and finished it this evening. Couldn't put it down. The hard part for me is that Alex starts out as a huge jerk, always remarking on Molly's weight and looks. What I did love however was watching him change and grow and watching Molly gain confidence in herself. Overall a good love story.

I really enjoy reading books by Mia. I like her writing style. Once I started I didn't want to put the book down. Alex is Molly best friend older brother. Molly has always like Alex. She just does not think he'd like her because she's on the chubby side. Alex tends to "pick" on her. You need to read to see if Molly ends up with Alex..
