Harari attempts to capsulize humankind’s, and more specifically, Homo Sapiens’ existence over two million years of existence.  He uses biology, anthropology, and sociology to link our ancestors from millennia past, and tells a gripping tale of how different species of humankind, at different times emerged, developed, and for some, died off and disappeared totally from the face of the earth. He explains how language, culture, and religion developed over hundreds of thousands of year even with the biological constants dictated by nature.   He offers compelling arguments on what made humans superior to other animals, beyond just being able to walk upright, and deftly use opposable thumbs.   Harari, in his sweeping tale of birth, survival, and death, categorically assumes the forces expounded in the evolutionary theories of Darwin, and puts question marks on those milestones of human development that evolution cannot explain. In a roughly, chronological order, he divides human progress into four distinct “phases”: Read more.... This is a  ZERO-RISK investment . I enjoyed the book but had trouble following it. I really learned a lot about history. The best part was how the author connects what was done in the past with what we are currently doing. There are some things that we don't notice on a micro level, but it's obvious at a macro level.
We don't think much how we are still evolving since we are currently in it, but it was very interesting to get that perspective, and how humans are also evolving.

I learned a lot from this book. Seeing countries and companies as myths was an interesting take. I only didnt like the last chapter - I'm not a fan of speculation into the future unless I'm reading sff. also dude has clearly not read enough sff if he thinks it's all about fancier technology and not about changing humans (genetic modifications) as well.

Summary: Sapiens: A brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari (Kindle edition) by Noah Fran- this book explains how our hunger for more and more is both first, our biggest advantage and second, our biggest curse. The book illustrates how we evolved from hunter-gatherers – savages who have used only stone and fire – to modern citizens of the world who settle for social media browsing and a 9 to 5 job. How the agricultural revolution enslaved us. Why the creation of the church was kind of necessary. Which religion is bigger than Christianity, Buddhism, and Islam combined. Greed for money spoils us. After successfully climbing on top of the food chain, we, humans, are now responsible for maintaining the order and the balance on our planet. Unfortunately, history shows us that our actions are often harmful to our environment. This carelessness can lead to greater consequences. This book aims to be a wake-up call. Instead of hurting animals and destroying the already fragile ecosystem, we should fix what was broken and do our best to live together, along, with the other inhabitants of our world. It is a motivating book for readers of all age groups.
