As a former MC member and the best damn bike mechanic in the state, I've turned my back on everything my rich family expects of me. I don't need their money or their expectations. Screw them all. I'm doing just fine on my own.

Until the day my life changes, and I become a full-time single father to a little girl I hardly know. Her arrival creates a tailspin I don't know how to correct.

Then I receive an offer I can't refuse from the billionaire family I detest. I don't like selling out by being a sex symbol for the family company, but it comes with enough money to give my little girl everything she needs.

And, then there's my corporate babysitter/boss... wow. Ass, tits, and legs for days.

Maybe I can do this father thing. This corporate thing. This lover thing.

If being this close to my family doesn't destroy me first.

*** This is a Full-Length STANDALONE billionaire romance novel with an HEA and NO CLIFFHANGER. ***

Was unrealistic

This was another one that just wasn't that good. Pretty boring really. There was something that was so stupid it just blew my mind and it ruined the she story. In fact, it just went downhill from there. Just so people are aware, this story was only 27% of the book. She included another book, which I didn't bother reading because the last free book she included after a story was a real disappointment. Considering how big of one this one was, I decided I didn't want to chance it. Now spoiler ahead for the utter stupidity in this book. So dad leaves the company to his son because it's a family business and he wants it to stay in the family. So what does this stupid son do but give it away to a woman who isn't family. Wth? What happens if 10 years from now Paisley wants to run the company and things didn't work out between those two and Sean and family have been pushed out of any rights to the company? What if she was a good actress and was just using him? What if they only lasted a few years? Any guy that would give away the family business is a complete and total fool. I get she was great at running it. Smart thing would be either to make her a full partner or marry her and give her half the company. Just giving always his dad's family legacy was wow, I just lost all respect for him in that moment. It wasn't romantic in any way. She had worked there for 5 years! It was a multi billion dollar company. Jeeze! A full partnership would have been huge to her. Worth billions, yet still keeping it in the family. Then he goes off and works part time as a mechanic for his old boss??? Again... Wth? It's beyond crazy. If he had made her a partner he could have actually been involved in designing quality bikes. It's what he knew and loved. It would have been a perfect fit for him and let him stay as the face of the company too. Win win. It was just such bad story writing. Have no idea what the author was thinking. Maybe she worked at a job and thought it should have been given to her so she worked that craziness out here. No idea, but that was just bad story telling. Then to take two years to ask her to marry him? They were in love and living together pretty much within a month, so again Wth??? This story just completely fell flat in the romance department. There was nothing exciting about it. Not a thing. They were pretty boring and he was obviously a total idiot.

This story is about a woman named Taylor who works for a Motorcycle Company – one that is family owned & that is struggling financially. She figures one good way to save the company would be to have the owner’s son come on board in a huge re-branding coup. Taylor and Sean have this immediate attraction …
Sean is a handsome and hunky mechanic who is estranged from his family, especially his father. He has a messy personal life but he is a fantastic mechanic. He finds himself an insta-father of an 8 yr old daughter and right back into his family dynamic which he left years before. Does he want to deal with any of this stress? Well when he has the chance to get his life back on track and a new relationship, looks like Sean is very interested. Especially when he is made the face and spokesperson for his father’s motorcycle manufacturing company , which is good because he can provide for his little girl. Will Sean be able to stand tall and strong , be able to keep his relationships going all the way around or will he cut and run?

I liked this story but felt it was lacking somewhat in the relationship between Taylor and Sean. The family relationship seemed stronger –especially between Sean and Paisley (father/daughter). I wish the romance aspect was a bit stronger because the romance aspect seemed weak whereas the family aspect in the story seemed to be more of the focus; otherwise this was a good story.

I have yet to read anything not great by this author, but this is hands down her best work yet. Having read “The Island” not too long ago and absolutely loving it, when I got the review copy of “The Rebel” I thought surely it couldn’t top “The Island.” I was so wrong! It is acutely apparent that Ms. Ward doesn’t just write with the intent of creating a decent story but with the purpose of engaging the reader, capturing her heart, and creating a visceral experience that remains with the reader long after the last page. She does that in spades with “The Rebel.”

Sean is a hero you’re destined to love, but boy is his life a mess. Working as a motorcycle mechanic, he’s made a lot of bad choices. He’s estranged from his father and brother, finally managed to get out of a somewhat shady motorcycle club, and has never known his eight year old daughter, Paisley, since his wife left him for another man years ago. Suddenly his life is upended again. His ex wife dies in a car accident and he’s an insta-father but still with a dead end job that barely pays enough to take care of himself, much less another person. When he’s offered a job as the face and spokesperson for his father’s motorcycle manufacturing company, he’ll have to swallow his pride and take the job in order to provide for Paisley. He certainly didn’t anticipate Taylor being part of his new job, nor did he expect the immediate attraction between them.

My heart and soul are so full after reading this, but my most effusive praise will still not be sufficient to express just how terrific this book is. From the characterization (wonderfully flawed and multidimensional) to the storyline (perfectly paced with seamless flow) to the H/h relationship (unexpected, sensual, deep and life altering) this book gives a slice of life with all its challenges, struggles and regrets, wrapped in romance, redemption and second chances. It’s actually two love stories in one book, as Sean and Paisley find their way together to becoming a family while Sean and Taylor’s relationship develops. Sean has so much to overcome while he figures out how to be a parent and realize his own worth. The scene where he teaches Paisley to ride a bicycle is charmingly sweet and a perfect metaphor for relationships, both parent/child and others. “With only a boost from me, she was off, and I jogged beside her, giving her freedom while also being close enough to catch her should she fall.” See? Ms. Ward has a talent for painting intrinsic word pictures with deeper meaning. Endearingly precious, abundantly heartwarming, beautifully evocative with vibrant emotion, this is an absolute MUST read!

The Rebel is about a woman (Taylor) who works for a family-owned motorcycle company that is struggling financially and she stumbles upon the idea to hire the owner's estranged son (Sean) for a re-branding campaign. Sean is a mechanic in a motorcycle shop who unexpectedly becomes an active father to his eight-year old daughter, Paisley.

Despite the two main characters jobs, a brief mention of Sean having formerly been in a motorcycle gang, and the fact that the two leads either ride or used to ride motorcycles, there is very little of the popular/typical motorcycle bad boy/motorcycle club romance trope. Instead, motorcycles are background filler to a sweet romance and heart-tugging family drama.

For me, the romance was a little basic and immediate and I didn't feel the connection between them until close to the very end. There was what I would classify as minor heat in the sex scenes (obviously this is an area that is highly subjective to the reader). I also didn't feel the best friend relationship, which seemed kind of forced and unnecessary - though I did like one scene between the two, and her presence at the end. And I hate to say it, but I found Taylor kind of boring

The real strengths in the book were in the family story lines - the building of Sean and Paisley's relationship and the estrangement between the males of the Yate's family - and in the character of Sean. His struggles with insecurities and his past with his family were very well written and I felt his pain and worry and enjoyed his growth and the eventual rewards to his strength and perseverance.

3.5 stars!

ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is only my second Alice Ward book. I loved the idea behind the story: a former motorcycle club member finds himself a single father to an 8 year old girl, falling in love along the way.

What I loved: Sean and Paisley's developing relationship! Sean is such a sweet dad. I loved everything about this storyline. I also loved the author's ability to pull at your heartstrings. She does an amazing job making you feel all the feels.

What I didn't love: I feel like if the story is called "Rebel" and Sean is a former MC member he needed to be a little bit more of a badass. I wanted more of that storyline to build up so we understood how different his HEA ending really is. There was a lot missing and I found myself bored with the work dialogue and felt maybe we could have even had flashbacks to his MCs days.

I did like the story of Taylor coming into their lives. The chemistry between Taylor and Sean was great, but I wanted a bit more build up. I felt like something was missing and they were in "love" way too quickly.

Overall this is a good read and a good story. I even found myself in tears a few times.

My only words of caution would be, if you are looking for a typical MC badass, drama type book this is not it.

Well huh. More of a 3.5 the story left me feeling all sorts of sadness & im not sure why. It has romance but it's I guess more a story of redemption above all else. Sean's redemption. Tara imo was just the catalyst for it all. I really ended up more focused on the family rebuilding than the romance, so if you like those kinds of books, you'll like this.

One question. What happened to Zach? He didn't just ride off into the sunset as pissed as he was, so do we have some kind of wicked anti hero book coming for him? This book imo, because of the family dynamics in it, felt incomplete because of that. Hard to do, but I've seen other authors take a character like him & redeem him. So....just saying. :)

3.5 star read for me. This was a pretty good read but not spectacular. There was enough mystery with Sean's estranged relationship with his dad and his brother and his past relationship with his ex to keep me entertained. Enjoyed his blossoming relationship with his little girl, Paisley. Sean and Taylor hit it off from first sight. Taylor seems a little wishy washy at first but I guess that's understandable when your dating the boss's son, not to mention that he's newly raising his 8 year old daughter. This was a sweet love story with an HEA. Definitely good if you want a light read without a lot of angst. I received an early copy and voluntarily left my honest review.

LOVED IT!! I couldn't put it down once I started. All the fears I had for added drama like the MC club, other women, manwhore stuff, saying awful things out of fear or hurt feelings, Zach's shenanigans, etc...none of it happened. Is that good? Yes! Was it boring for lack of drama? Absolutely not!!! The way Alice pulled everything together was believable, touching, sweet and tender, amazingly hot, real, and absolutely wonderful to read.

Honestly, there are so many good things to say about this book that I almost fear it'll be a crap review because it's only praise so I'll try to be as specific as possible without giving too much away. Here goes...

Sean is broody, frustrated, lonely, and tempted to fall back into what he was doing before. He does, however, have a great ability to look at what he wants and the consequences of what he's tempted to do so that he can make a better decision. His life has taken him in a direction that makes that intelligence a necessity. Not everything has gone according to plan and he's allowed life to roll him for far too long. When Claire comes back into his life he's reminded of not just responsibility, but of his heart even if it's filled with negativity for the moment. Then comes the biggest shock of all when he finds out that Paisley, his 8 year old daughter, needs him now more than ever. How to cope? What do do? Well, whatever he's going to do, he's going to give it everything he has because, for once, there's someone who truly needs him.

Taylor is driven, focused, and enthusiastic. She's determined to make a success of the business she loves even if she's not family and not in a position of power. Her mind is quick and despite the struggles she has with Zach, she knows what she needs to do and goes for it. When Sean quickly becomes an answer to the company's problems she throws herself into the deep end to see it through to success. Now to just get Sean on board...

I was worried that Ray and Zach would make her train Sean to be her boss, that she would be overlooked in a testosterone driven field, but that was not the case. It was quite unexpected, his role, and the way things progressed in the business was unpredictable and fun to see. There was immediate connection and the interplay between them was genuine and passionate. Then another fear was hoping Zach wouldn't come between them. He did, just not in a way that I thought he would. All in all, there were so many surprises with how things progressed in the business and romantically that I was engaged from the word go. I fell in love with Sean, Taylor, and Paisley just as much as they all fell for one another.

The romance wasn't contrived, forced, or awkward at all. There was intense passion, overwhelming feelings, and a great sense of rightness. Humanity and genuine affection between everyone was always present and I respected them for how things proceeded. With the synopsis I was expecting a manwhore that screwed any woman that came along and had a sexist, arrogant attitude. I was honestly expecting to not like him very much. What I found instead was a man who had a heart, who kept control of himself, and aside from a sexy fantasy and lustful thoughts, he didn't talk the whole time about her body. He was much more interested in who she was, how she made him feel, her importance in his life. Not that there weren't fireworks in the bedroom, there most definitely were, it just wasn't only about how they connected physically. He was supportive of Taylor's professional ambition and he made her feel important, gave her a place to call home in each aspect of her life that was important to her. Taylor in turn gave him confidence, the encouragement and support, and the push he needed to fulfill his potential. She didn't try to mold him into a corporate suit, she let him be himself. They were a powerful couple that were utterly perfect together.

Overall, I am so very in love with this book. This is probably my favorite book by Alice so far. Reading and reviewing her ARCs is an absolute pleasure.

Alice Ward in a fairly new author for me, and if The Rebel is any indication of the quality of her work, I'll be doing a lot of catch-up reading in the future. What I expected from the the book cover and title was a gritty MC romance, but The Rebel is anything but that. What I found was a sexy, sweet, heartwarming, endearing story I found impossible to put down. I give The Rebel 4.5 stars.

When we first meet the hero, Sean Yates, he's working in a garage as a mechanic, fixing a motorcycle, something he loves to do. He used to belong to a MC, but left when they started getting into criminal activities, and also because he believes that it cost him his marriage to Claire, and a chance to get to know his baby daughter, Paisley. When the marriage ended, Sean blamed himself for his preoccupation with the MC, in part, and he was in no position to raise his infant daughter, so Claire took custody, and then moved across the country. Sean hasn't seen his daughter in over six years, while continuing to pay child support. When Claire shows up in his garage, it's to ask for money for Paisley's swim classes, and Sean is shocked and irritated to learn that they'd returned to Phoenix months ago, but never let him know. Shortly thereafter, Claire dies in an accident and suddenly Sean is thrust into his role as a father to 8-year-old Paisley, a job for which he feels totally inadequate and unprepared.

Told in alternating narration, we next meet Taylor, the heroine. She has been working for the Yates Motorcycle Company for five years, in some executive capacity and I wish we'd been told exactly what her role in the company is. The business is family owned and run by Ray Yates, and his smarmy, creepy, rude, and underachieving son, Zach. At a board meeting, she learns that sales of their motorcycles have dropped off, they are losing money and their stock price is dropping. Taylor believes that the problem is their image, and that a new image might turn the business around. When she chances upon a photo of Sean Yates, he's the perfect image of a tough, handsome, real biker to head the advertising campaign to change their image. To say that he's less than a willing participant is putting it mildly, especially since he's been estranged from his father and brother for years. But now that he's a father, in order to provide a stable home and a good life for his daughter, he simply cannot turn down the money he's being offered to be their new image and new spokesman.

Sean's attraction to Taylor is almost instantaneous, although he's ill-mannered and rude as she tries to prepare him for his new role in the company. She's every bit as attracted to Sean, but this is in no way an insta-love romance. Instead, this is beginning of a well-written, deeply moving, engrossing, heartwarming, and sometimes puzzling relationship between a father and his daughter, and the woman who helps bring them together. There's not a lot of action or angst in this novel beyond the strained family relationships I've already mentioned, but there was certainly enough drama in Sean's struggle become a real father to his daughter, and his fear of failure, and more than enough charm in the character of Paisley and her growing relationship with Taylor, to keep this reader entertained long into the night.

Although not at all what I expected, this was a very good read and I'm happy to recommend it.

I read an advance reader copy of this novel and received no compensation for doing so. The opinions expressed are my own.

I loved this story! It is well written with a great deal of emotional elements that encompass all the characters. I especially enjoyed how the relationship between Sean, the biker and Taylor, the corporate babysitter builds and evolves naturally. Their time together nutures their feelings for each other and Sean's young daughter, Paisley.

Sean is a former MC member looking to just get through his days in contentment. He has made mistakes and suffers from the consequences from some of those. It isn't until his 8 year old daughter, Paisley comes to live with him that Sean looks to make amends and be the best father he can. He is such a well developed character with many facets to his personality that typically go undiscovered with a badass biker. He has depth and feelings that he doesn't fully recognize until Paisley comes into his life full-time.

The family dynamic between Sean, his father Ray, and his brother Zach gets center stage when Taylor's plan to save Yates' Motorcycles gets accepted by Sean. Sean's relecutance to work for his father and brother is evident but, he is only thinking of a future for Paisley that Sean agrees to be the model for the family business. The ever present tension between Sean and Zach is tense and uncompromising. Ray's handling of his sons is his mistake that he must acknowledge and accept before it is too late.

Taylor is an interesting character but, isn't examined very closely. Taylor's main character trait is her drive to succeed at Yates' Motorcycles. So much so that it has taken over her life. She hasn't had a date in over a year. Taylor's relationship with her best friend, Niki has also suffered. She rarely makes time to get together with her friend because work is her sole focus. That is only until Sean and Paisley come into her life. Taylor's instant connection with Paisley is touching. She is able to connect with Paisley in a way that Sean has not which has been a big help to him.

This story examines the many aspects and dynamics of love and family. Sean is such a sweetheart when it comes to Paisley. He tries so hard and stresses about doing everything for his little girl who has not had the best in her young life. You just ache for him as he keeps reaching out to Paisley waiting for things to click between them. Taylor's assistance with the gentle bond between father and daughter is the link between the growing relationship between her and Sean. She understands the need to nuture the father/daughter relationship because of her own special connection with her father and with Ray, who is a father figure to her. There are so many tender moments between these three characters that you want the very best outcome for them.

This is such an emotional story that I couldn't read fast enough to reach the outcome.

Excellent story - I totally recommend it.

I have read many books by Alice Ward. She has written about Billionaires, athletes, doms, etc. and I have enjoyed all of them. This book was a different from the rest and I can honestly say, this is one of my favorites. I didn't know what to except at first when the book mentions motorcycles and a former member of a MC group but it was a pleasant surprise. The book begins with Sean Yates working as a motorcycle mechanic in a small shop. He left a MC some years back due to the increase of criminal activities. During that time his wife had an affair, divorced him and she moved across the country, taking their daughter Paisley with her. Sean was the son of Ray Yates, the owner of a billionaire motorcycle company. Sean left due to some family conflicts and decided he didn't want anything to do with the company. Recently Sean discovers his estranged wife dies and he now responsible for Paisley. a daughter he barely knows. His arrogant, ungrateful younger brother (Zach) is with the company along with their dad. Taylor Issac is a beautiful executive with the Yates motorcycle company,. Her dad owned and worked on motorcycles when she was young. She used to ride motorcycles but since her dad passed away, she kinda lost interest. She is practically helping Ray Yates run the company due to Zack mediocre work ethics and lack of interest in the company except for money. When the company's profit start to drop, Taylor comes up with a new marketing advertising to gain interest to the public. She comes across a old picture of Sean in the office. Taylor contacts Sean but is turned down immediately due to the family divide. Sean soon contacts Taylor about the job because now he has to earn more to take care of his daughter. The first meeting between Sean and Taylor is electric. There so much angst and sexual chemistry! I definitely recommend this book! I received this advanced reader copy for a honest review.

Sean is an amazing motorcycle mechanic, barely making a living, but doing the best he can on his own, and for the most part feeling pretty good about himself. He's got some demons from his past, some owning to his family and some to his brief time in a motorcycle club.

Paisley is Sean's eight year old daughter, and on that he hasn't had contact with since his ex-wife took her away. Of course Sean hasn't always felt he deserved to be in Paisley's life given his entanglement with the motorcycle club, but he is determined to give his daughter everything he can from a distance. That is until the day that his ex-wife is killed in a car accident and he becomes a single parent overnight.

Enter Taylor, a marketing exec in his father's company, that has no idea his history, knows nothing about him, but knows that Sean is what the company needs to turn around its recent major downturn, and she is just determined enough to know that she may have to fight father, son and brother to get it, but she is sure this is the best thing.

This was a well written book and the characters had depth and development and I think it is a good book to read. For me personally, I had trouble with the way Sean seemed to hold onto his mistakes like a badge and push people away and think that no one would ever give him a decent chance at a real life or think that he could change. I just wanted to smack him a few times in the book and knock the chip off his shoulders. That is the only reason I lowered the stars on the book. Another reader may not have those kinds of issues with the characters.

In the spirit of full disclosure, I received an ARC copy of this book and asked if I would be willing to honestly review the book. I am always honest in my reviews, and while I think this was a good book, it wasn't one that I personally would be into reading because of my issues with the personalities.

I am a huge fan of Alice Ward and her writing. This book just proves to me why I am such a fan. Her writing is superb, the characters are so well developed and the story itself is as if you are right there in the thick of things. I never want to put the book down until I'm done and when I'm done, I want more. Sean is kind of the black sheep of his family. His father and brother are people that he doesn't like to be around due to things that happened years ago. Sean loves motorcycles and the best place for him is in a garage working on them. He has a happy life for the most part. When he finds out his ex-wife is back in town with their 8 year old daughter and he wasn't told, he is a bit upset to this fact. He hasn't always been the best father due to his past and feels that his ex is better for Paisley than he would be but that doesn't mean the love isn't there for her. When Claire dies in an automobile accident and has no other relatives, Paisely comes to live with Sean. When you are 8 years old and the life that you know has been taken away in an instant, it's hard to move on. Sean tries his best to be the father he has no idea to be. When Taylor comes into the picture his whole life is turned upside down. Taylor works for Sean's dad at Yates Motorcylces and is his right hand woman. When the company is losing money, she comes up with an idea to help save the company. That would be for Sean to come and be their model and spokesperson. Now she doesn't know about the past between them but pushes the issue. So what will happen next? Will Sean take the job now that he has Paisley full time? Will Sean be able to work with his father and brother? What really happened in the past between them to tear their family apart? Will Sean and Taylor find forever together? Since I'm not that type of reviewer to give you the spoilers, you will just have to read the book. Believe me, it's well worth your time. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book

Coming Home 4.5stars

Sean Yates never expected to see his 8-year old daughter, Paisley, after his ex-wife up and left six years ago after the divorce. Suddenly, Sean is a single dad, and he has no idea how to care for a young girl. Those years where being part of an MC was his life was not the smartest thing he’s done, and it cost him his family, and created a rift between him and his father and brother, Zach.

Taylor Isaac works for Ray Yates’ Motorcycles. Reports show the company is losing money. Taylor’s idea of rebranding would give the ailing company much needed boost. So, she pitches the idea of using Sean Yates as the new face for the company, targeting customers from the demographics they are tapping. People could relate to a man like Sean. His rough good looks, and general badassery is the appeal they need. What better image than using a Yates for the new campaign.

Sean is reluctant to get on board, at first. The broken relationship between father and sons is wide and the bridge to gap the expanse needs lots of healing. Now that he’s finally got Paisley, he knows he wants to be the best father he can be, he’s not quite sure how to go about it. Working for his father would certainly bring financial security and bright future for Paisley. Taylor wonders about what caused the estrangement of the family members, and she’s coming to find Sean has a big heart for Paisley. I love how Sean, with the help of Taylor, nurtures Paisley out of her shell and becomes the happy little girl.

I just loved everything about this story and my heart really went out to Sean and Paisley in overcoming such an awkward beginning. Also, enjoyed the exciting connection between Sean and Taylor. It’s sexy and sweet. And that reveal about the split between Sean and Zach is mind blowing. I love the resolution to the story and the satisfying ending. Ms. Ward did a great job.

I received and voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

The Rebel

I'm leaving a review for 5 books and I really enjoyed all of them. I wished I could leave more stars because they really deserve them.
The first one is about a motorcycle mechanic who wants nothing to with his rich family until his daughter shows up. He tries to be a good dad so he realizes he needs their help and the personal assistant assigned to him bonds with the little girl and that draws him in more. Sean and Claire soon become closer. Sean's dad couldn't be happier as he is dying and Sean and he make up. This book has a very happy ending.
The next group of books:
Asher and Lauren grow closer as the meet at an art showing for one of Lauren's friends. As time goes on he tells her his truth even though he's afraid it will drive her away. As they navigate the twists and turns, Lauren learns that Rachel despises her because of her relationship with Asher and Rachel's illness. Asher and Lauren's love is so strong that it can't be broken even though it is really tested. Thanks to Lauren's friends they get out of serious criminal charges. You'll not want to put this series down as it takes you on a wild ride.
Last but not least - Claire
She's never had such a romance because she's always played it safe until she ventures out with her cooking. Claire meets Aiden (bad boy) and is instantly attracted. She doesn't realize that he is playing with her for his own good til it's almost to late. Aiden doesn't take the contest seriously and uses her for his own good. Shep helps her but refuses to get involved until after the contest since he and Aiden went to college together and he knows what type of person he is. Claire's friend, Kennedy thinks he's wrong for Claire and develops her own opinion while she's in the hospital because of developments regarding her pregnancy. In the end Claire and Shep get married as Lauren goes in to labor at the wedding. Beautiful story! I left out a lot because I want you to read these!

Alice Ward has a way of telling a story that gets you so engrossed, that you're done before you know it, absorbing every word and feeling every emotion written. Sean & Taylor are perfect for each other and the story starts out with them not liking each other, they don't get along and she thinks he is rude. Of course they each think the other is attractive but until they start to see each other w/o annoyance, they see the real beauty in each other. Sean now has his eight year old daughter to raise who he hasn't in years after her mom passes away, he's struggling with trying to get to know his daughter who views him as a stranger. When Taylor shows up after he doesn't show up for work she doesn't expect to see him caring for his ill daughter and sees him in a new light. Sean has been estranged from his father, who Taylor works for, for many years which includes his brother, Zach. Their relationship blossoms even with the doubts around them until one day it all comes to a head between Sean, Zach and his dad. Will Sean finally leave his family behind once and for all & what about Taylor?
OMG...the emotions that played out between them all was intense at times, needing tissues at some points, to get through it. Not only that but the story, plot and writing was AMAZING and Sean & Taylor are in my top 5 couples of all times. I enjoyed every single page and I really enjoyed the gradual way their relationship developed along with no exes or others trying to break them apart, no misunderstandings or pushing each other away.....refreshing !! Even though I received an ARC of this book I had to buy it because I loved it that much!! 5 +++++

Taylor has been working at her current job for 5 years now, she has loved working with Ray as he has teached her so much in her time in his company plus she loves doing her dream job. One day during a meeting it is mentioned that times are tough and they need a new idea, Taylor had no idea that the photo she found of Rays long lost Son would put them back up and change her life forever. Sean a man who left his family years ago for reasons he doesnt share doesnt want the position but with his daughter in his life he knows that he needs this job to give her everything he can.

What I enjoyed most about The Rebel is watching two people who cut out love from their lives find each other and find in each other what they thought they would never have, a happy ending with all the love in the world. Seeing Taylor totally accept Sean's daughter Paisley and them all become a family and working through the hard tough times and the losses. Sean finding in his heart to want to be a better man and the best father he could be. Watching both Taylor and Sean become the best people they can together.

This book is fantastic but everything I read by Alice is a great read. This book has Taylor a woman trying to help her boss get his company back at the top and not willing to take no for an answer when she knows Sean is the key. Sean a man who doesnt want anything to do with his father or family business but thinking better of it when it comes to his daughter a decision he wont soon regret, with a brother who is always trying to start problems to give it that family drama, a love story. If you like stories like this, then The Rebel is a must!

I received a copy of this book in exchange of an honest review. Sean has with great dignity built a life on his own. His origins are not humble, on the contrary he comes from a well known and rich family. He wants nothing to do with his family because of his brother’s betrayal in his regards. Although having a rough past, he is a well respected mechanic and is happy with what he earns. When his family’s company is in deep economic trouble and one of his father's employees steps in to ask him to save the company, he will abruptly refuse but since he is on his own with a huge responsibility of raising his daughter after his ex wife's death, he then decides to accept. The employee mentioned before is a beautiful girl that will initially hate Sean owing to his bad behavior but once she’ll get to know him better, they will both realize that they are the perfect match for one another . This was such a lovely read. The story is really captivating and it is beautifully written. It revolves around Sean and the injustice he has endured in the past but Taylor represents the missing puzzle in his life. Initially the reader will feel lost because it is difficult to guess the reason of the male character ‘s hard attitude but everything will be revealed once the story develops in front of the reader's eyes. I admit Sean and Taylor’s deep love has filled my heart with so many strong feelings. Sexy and spicy scenes aren't omitted. I absolutely recommend the book. .

I received an Advanced Readers Copy from both the author and Hidden Gems. I voluntarily read and honestly review this book.

I have a weakness for coverart and this is one of those " if I lick it , is it mine?!" covers 😋😚 and what a sandwiched in between is even better.

Sean comes from an affluent family and as with all families there are dramas, some just more than others, as is the case here.
Sean made a few bad descions in life, which in turn had consequences that simply led to more bad descions,a vicious circle that left a family divided and a little girl without a daddy .....

Sean walked away from it all and just wants to get on with life . He's not doing to bad a job really and just as be thinks he has his ducks in a row life throws him a curveball.
Claire , his ex and mother of his child, dies. Life is about to change for this little girl and her daddy....

Things were tough at first ,which was to be expected but Paisley and Sean soon enough find each other and what works for them . They grow from strangers to a very special unit 💟

Taylor works @ Yates Motorcycles and when the company shows a decline , she comes up with a plan to revamp their image and for that she needs Sean. So after negotiating terms , Sean is on board and so much happens other than good business. There are threats ,revelations, confessions , forgiveness, healing, heartache and new love......

Sean , Paisley and Taylor, you're a special family 💟may you be showered in love and happiness.

The Rebel by Alice Ward is simply amazing! This emotional story of love and redemption hooks you and won't let go. The characters are fantastic and so relatable that you can't help but love them. The storyline flows so perfectly and catches your attention quickly. Sean Yates is a former MC member and well-known mechanic. He has made bad choices that caused him to give up the one thing he loves most- his daughter, Paisley. When his ex-wife dies unexpectedly his life is turned upside down as he is now the sole parent to his eight-year-old daughter. Both are trying to learn how to relate to each other as father and daughter. One day Sean gets a job offer he can't turn down. When he meets his new boss, Taylor Isaac they both dislike each other from the beginning. When Sean needs help and Taylor comes to his aid he begins to see her in a new light. The more time they spend working together the more the flame between them grows. I loved how the relationship between Taylor, Sean, and Paisley grew. This is a heartwarming story of finding love, acceptance, and redemption. The Rebel will pull at your heartstrings and have you laughing, crying, and sighing as Sean, Paisley, and Taylor's story unfolds. I highly recommend getting this book!! I received an ARC and am voluntarily reviewing it.

Alice Ward does it again. Awesome story, I laughed, I cried and and ooh'd and aah'd.

Sean used to be in a motorcycle club, now he fixes motorcycles for a living. He believes he is a messup and should stay out of everyone's way. His ex shows up at his work, he didn't even know she lived so close again, saying she needs more money so their daughter can continue in a summer camp. The next thing he know is that he is his daughter's only parent anymore.

Taylor has a head for business and marketing. She works for Ray Yates Motorcycles, and when she finds out the business is sufferring, she says they need someone who portrays what a motorcycle enthusiast really is to model for them and be there spokesman. Because her father was one she knows what to look for and when she sees a picture of Sean in her boss's office she know he is the best person for the job.

Sean and Taylor but heads. Sean wants nothing to do with his father who owned the company or the brother who is also there. Taylor gets upset when Sean leaves in the middle of the day and then doesn't show up for the next two days so she goes to his house. What she finds has her looking at him in a new light.

This book is a must read to find out why Sean doesn't get along with his family, what kind of father he is, and what he will really do for those he loves.

Alice Ward is a new author to me. I was in between books when I came across The Rebel and thought it looked good. And I was not disappointed. I found the story to be steady and the characters relatable. I just really enjoyed it.

Sean Yates is a motorcycle mechanic. His dad, Ray founded the Yates Motorcycle Company.

Ray Yates was a name brand in the motorcycle world. The company was right up there with Harley Davidson and Kawasaki.

Sean has been estranged from his family for years. He dabbled in an MC and now works quietly as a motorcycle mechanic. Although the pay is not great, it is his passion. Sean’s ex-wife Claire shows up one day to ask for more money for his daughter Paisley. Little did he know that his life would change that day. After Claire leaves, she is in a fatal car accident. Sean becomes a single dad to a little girl he hardly knows.

Sean wants to provide for his daughter but finds it hard with his mechanic job. He receives an offer from Yates Motorcycle to become the new “face” of Yates in a rebranding effort. This idea was created by Tara Isaac, right hand to Ray Yates.

Sean takes the job to provide a better future for Paisley. As he starts at Yates, he must work closely with Tara. Things slowly change between them, and a relationship forms. Sean also starts to get to know Paisley. You watch them go from virtual strangers to dad and daughter. There are a few bumps in the road but nothing too severe.

As I said above the story was steady and the characters are developed in a steady pace. The description of the book led me to believe it would be an MC type of story with a hard alpha. Motorcycles seemed to be in the background of the story. Even so, I really enjoyed the book!

Why is 5 my limit on stars? I could rate this as INFINITE This is one of the best books I've read in a while. While it was a mix of tropes I read frequently (romance, billionaires, single dad, motorcycle affiliation, alpha male, etc), this one will stand out in my mind for a while. It wasn't an insta-love, spoiled rich kid, man sleeze villan they so often are. No, Sean was an estranged son, absentee father, doubter and struggling mechanic. When he gains custody of his daughter after her mother's death, there is a change in him that only grows throughout the rest of the book. Taylor liked his picture when she had seen it, but she and Sean butted heads at every turn. It was amusing. Zach was a piece of work in the most low-life, disgusting way. There's nothing nice to say about that man. Ray had made some choices that had kept he and Sean apart, but you could tell he adored Sean and was relieved when he came to work for Yates Motorcycles. Paisley was a class act. She was a sweetheart of an 8-yr-old. You can tell she is first in Sean and Taylor's lives and she never had been in her mother's. With her reactions and statements, it makes you wonder if she even spent the child support on the kid when he takes her shopping.

Alice Ward is very good at bringing characters to life that make me care about them.
Some writers embue a bit of magic to their characters that brings them fully to life. It isn’t in the big events of a story, really. It’s in small moments, when a reader gets to see a spark of humor, or a bit of pathos. A daydream. A motivation, both with good intentions, and bad. Heroes and villains alike.
These moments bring characters beyond physical descriptions or first impressions. It can happen anywhere-- at the beginning of a book or in the middle-- that spark that makes me connect to the character in a way that engages my emotions.
Sometimes, I hate them. Sometimes I love them. Sometimes both. My emotions are engaged, and I am invested in the outcome of the story-- big time.
This story brought out all of these emotions for me. I laughed and talked back to the characters. I hated the villain with a passion that sent me away from the book a couple of times… Take a walk. It’s just a story.
And when the climax of the story hit, and I thought all was lost… I cried.
I didn’t want Sean and Taylor’s story to end, but when it did, I took a deep, satisfied breath, and smiled.

I know that when I read and Alice Ward title I'm in for something special. The Rebel is no exception to that expectation. I stumbled across a phrase tonight, immediately after finishing this book, that I think perfectly sums up how I feel about our hero: it's hard to resist a bad boy who's also a good man. I actually found it impossible to resist Sean. I was captivated by his struggles to be the dad Paisley needed, to come to terms with the actions that had estranged him from his father and brother, and to be a worthy partner for Taylor. Taylor didn't have as long a road to travel for growth but I was really glad when she finally stopped letting the doubts of other people keep her from going after her dreams. I adore the family unit Sean, Paisley, and Taylor create. And before the end, the Yates family drama had me bawling my eyes out. In fact, this book took me through the full spectrum of emotions: laughter, tears, joy, sorrow, lust, love, hate, and delight. The charming final scene wraps it all up beautifully. I highly recommend blocking out some free time to read this book. But keep the tissues hand, just in case.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.

The Rebel Kindle Edition
by Alice Ward (Author)

What a great read...first time reading this author. Will definetly read more of her books. The characters are well written, some family drama, and great chemistry..

Sean Yates is a former MC member who works in a Bike Shop..he is known as the best bike mechanic in the state. He came from A rich family that owns Yates Motorcycles. Sean turned his back on his family years ago and makes his life on his own without their money......until His ex- wife is killed in a car crash and he became a full time father to a daughter he hardly knows.

Taylor Isaac works for Yates motorcycle! She is looking to change the direction of The company and wants to use Sean as the face of the company. She has no idea what had happened between the family but Pursues Sean with a offer He can't refuse with enough money to give his little girl everything she needs.

Sean and Taylor chemistry is off the charts....but his brother is making things hard for him, Taylor and his daughter... can he be this close to his family without being destroyed again....

Sean’s life is falling apart. Upon the death of his ex-wife and instant fatherhood of an 8 year old girl, his life seems to be spinning out of control. Never one to feel he can handle it all, but always thinking he is not good for anyone, not his dad, not his brother, not his ex-wife , he is constantly second guessing himself with his daughter. The reader soon finds that going on instinct and self control is great in parenting. When he is called upon to be the face of a motorcycle manufacturer because he has the “bad boy” look, his first desire is to turn it down. Money becomes the only motive to accept. He knows it will be easier on him and his daughter if there is money to spare. However, making the change to the corporate world is not easy for a motorcycle mechanic! How does he handle himself? Who is he working for? Does he keep his child or give her to CPS? And how does he wind up owning the company?
This book is really interesting. No, there is not a lot of motorcycle techispeak, thank you. I do not ride cycles, but I thoroughly enjoyed this story.

First, we meet Sean, our hero, and boy, what a hero he is! He's not always been such a good guy and to spare some people from dealing with his reputation, he left them alone. But now he's forced to be involved because he had become a full time dad to a bright shy little girl. Mostly he's thinking "I can't do this. I'm not good enough to be this girl's dad." But he realizes he is all she has and he MUST do right by her. Unfortunately, doing right by her involves getting involved with his family again.

But the best thing to come from that is....it brings him into our heroine, Taylor's, world and the more they interact, the more sparks fly. Sometimes not such good sparks but once the bumps are ironed out, watch out, sparks fly from this couple like static electricity. Taylor helps Sean and his daughter bond and as a result, they all bond as a family. But as we all know, the road to the happily ever after is never smooth and straight.

Alice Ward has hit a grand slam with this book. I couldn't resist reading it one sitting. Grab your copy now!
