The Truth Of The Life Of This World

Rate this book
One of the major reasons why people feel a profound sense of attachment for life and cast religion aside is the assumption that life is eternal. Forgetting that death is likely to put an end to this life at any moment, man simply believes that he can enjoy a perfect and happy life. Yet, he evidently deceives himself. The world is a temporary place specially created by Allah to test man. That is why it is inherently flawed and far from satisfying man?s endless needs and desires. Every attraction existing in the world eventually wears out, becomes corrupt, decays and finally disappears. This is a never changing reality of life. This book explains this essential nature of life and leads man to ponder the real place to which he belongs, namely the Hereafter.

This book is divided into two parts. In the first part of the book, the author gave a lot of examples to show, as well as to remind the readers, that the life on this earth is only temporary, and that no matter what we do, with however advanced the technology we equip ourselves with, death is not an option.

Since the first part of the book mainly conveys information that the readers are already familiar with, this part may seem quite dull and uninformative. The author had also repeated his examples a bit too many times in order to emphasize his points. For instance, he had mentioned the effects of old age quite a few times during the beginning of this section. He had also given a very elaborate explanation regarding this point which I find slightly unnecessary, seeing that of course everyone would be aware of this fact. Stating this point once or at most twice would be enough to serve as a reminder. The constant repetition of this fact is redundant as this inadvertently causes this first half of the book to be rather tedious. Halfway through this part might prompt a less patient reader to stop reading. The presence of the colourful and interesting pictures in this part, however, is a blessing as it livens up this section and prevents it from being completely dreary.

The second part of the book, on the other hand, makes compelling reading. This section is actually separated from the first section by a single page which began with a big, red warning sign, followed by the sentence: “The chapter you are about to read reveals a crucial secret of your life.” Needless to say, with this very attention-grabbing opening page, this part of the book had gained my upmost attention from beginning to end.

The three chapters following this warning page indeed contain some gripping and rather mind-boggling facts. I find the first chapter quite disturbing as it disclosed an information that is almost unthinkable, and yet the author’s argument in favor of this fact seems to be very logical. What’s more, the author did not fail to include several related verses from the holy al-Quran to support this argument. The next chapters are equally astonishing as well. For the most part, these three chapters serve to notify the readers about the truth of this life that most people are unaware of. By and large, this second part of the book is definitely worth reading.

The forte of the book lies on its excellent way of explaining and influencing the readers to see the truth from the author’s point of view, or in this case, the Islamic point of view. The points that the author brought forth were explained clearly and in great detail. The author provided generous amount of evidences to stress on each point. For instance, the author did not simply declare that the life on earth is a test for man, and then leave it at that for the readers to ponder on its meaning. Instead, he went on giving a lot of proofs to support this point, including presenting the destructions that happened to ungrateful past civilizations who had failed in this test on earth. Furthermore, the author had succeeded in giving the best, undisputable proofs for each of his points- the related verses from the holy Quran. Each and every one of his points is accentuated with Quranic verses, leaving no room for doubts.

Besides that, the author did not just fully disregard the arguments given by the people who hold fast to the opposite beliefs. He included their arguments as well and refuted them thoroughly, showing how flawed their beliefs are. In example, in one of the chapters, the author explained the errors of the Materialists’ beliefs. After making his views clear, the author did not neglect to state the Materialists’ arguments. Their arguments were then well-countered with more convincing facts by the author.

Apart from that, this book contains quite a number of intriguing and incredible facts, some of which are not even widely known, such as the theory of the relativity of time, the story of the past civilizations, and the theory of matter being only an illusion. Reading this book can certainly add to one’s general knowledge, besides leading the believers to the realization of the Greatness of Allah. On top of that, this book also contains several pages of interesting images.
