Told as a series of interviews, smartphone photos, screenshots, text messages, and social media bursts, The Tapper Twins Run For President is guaranteed to be the absolutely funniest presidential race since 1776. Claudia Tapper wants to become President of the United States someday, and her political career has begun in earnest at Culver Prep. She's the sixth grade class president, and has every reason to presume she'll get reelected. Reese Tapper could not care less about student government--until his soccer game is banned from Culvert's only outdoor space, and he learns becoming class president is his best shot at overturning the new rule. And thus, the greatest political rivalry in Culvert Prep history is born! In a tangle of evil-genius advisors, meddlesome best-friends, negative campaign attacks and outrageously funny missteps, Claudia and Reese duke it out to see who will rule the school.

Claudia is running for president and she thinks that everything will go well and that she will win until her brother, Reese, runs against her to un-ban soccer from the playground-roof. Claudia is running to start this mentor program where 5th and 6th graders mentor kindergarteners and 1st graders so they don’t become evil when they get older. This was a funny book that I enjoyed. One funny part that I enjoyed was when James was giving his speech at the debate about removing furniture and getting monkey bars and stuff for the classroom and how it’s like they’re in cages. As a demonstration, he brought in a live squirrel and it was pure chaos after that. I recommend this book for ages 8-11. If you like the other Tapper Twins books then you’re sure to like this one.
One of my libraries finally had this book! I have been looking forward for it for so long. I am hoping that they will have the next book a bit faster though.
In the end I did like the book, but it did think it was a bit less than the previous ones. The characters were pretty annoying, Reese and his OMG my parents only care about Claudia-card got annoying, the election just seemed overdramatic (or maybe it is because we don't have that kind of thing where I live). I will also stick that some people shouldn't get kids (the parents in this series do a terrible job at parenting).
It was still interesting to see who would win though, would it be Claudia or would it be Reese? It was a pretty close battle between the siblings. Their battle strategies were a bit weird, and I just laughed at how little Reese had in his brains. It seems Reese only has soccer and games in his brains and that is it. Don't ask him anything else.
Kalisha was a pretty terrible person, the things she did all for those extra points? Bah. You don't do those things.
I am happy to see that Jens and Claudia are now dating (I don't care that she is denying it, they are dating, they are boyfriend and girlfriend). I was shipping those two since the start. I hope that Claudia will see him as a boyfriend, he deserves that at least. Though I do hope we will see them do more dating stuff, as I didn't really get the dating vibe from them.
I just loved Jens's commentary, plus it is all true.
How the books are formatted is still my favourite thing about this series. Normally I am not into those kind of books (written like some sort of play), but it works just so well with this one. I just can't stop reading. Plus it is oh so much fun to have texts, pictures, little notes, additions added, it makes the story come to life.
All in all, I still quite liked the book, I flew through it, but I hope the next book will be better again.
I read the entire book in one day! - Hilarious - Unique Writing Style - Great Story & Characters - Princess Bride Reference Five Stars it is! I love this series! So underrated!
The Tapper Twins Run for president by Geoff Rodkey was a funny book to read. It was about a brother and sister running for president at their school called Culvert Prep. Claudia was the sister and she really wanted to beat her brother Reese at being president. This book was very fun to read because I feel the same way but with my SISTER, I connect with this book because me and my sister don’t get along with each other like Reese and Claudia. My sister and I also fight a lot because one of us always wants to be the better child. We also fight like Reese and Claudia because whenever we do something important we always say that we are the better child or something. I liked this book because it was about Reese and Claudia trying to beat one another at something, and to me its always funny to see or hear two siblings fight. What I did not like about this book was how Reese knew that Claudia really wanted to be president but then he started to run and didn’t really care about being president he just really wanted to change soccer on the roof. So, I kind of think that Reese was being selfish. This was my review of The Tapper Twins Run For President by Geoff Rodkey.
The Tapper Twins Run for President is a funny story about two twin siblings competing to be class president. Claudia has always been in student government, whereas Reese just decided he wanted to. It starts with a soccer ball getting kicked over the fence around a school rooftop and has a squirrel thrown in somewhere in the middle. The oral history is good because you have different characters all telling their sides of the story and then Claudia adds her little notes about it. It's a pretty funny story, and the pictures included make it even better.
Claudia Tapper and her twin brother Reese are battling it out to become the 6th Grade Class President. Their story is told in a series of interviews, text messages and social media posts of the twins’ family and friends. Claudia’s dream is to become the president of the United States one day, and she is sure she will keep her current position as 6th Grade Class President when her classmates re-elect her. Reese, however, thinks he has the edge to beat his sister and be the next Class President. Read The Tapper Twins Run for President to find out which Tapper twin will rule the school!

Another funny story about the Tapper twins. I just love the combination of texts, pictures, references to the online gaming world, and highlights of fun places around NYC. I always look forward to reading these books and will definitely read the next book in the series when it is released! Great book for middle grade students!
My son strongly encouraged me to read this book. It had him laughing out loud. He’s stated it tells all the truths about elections that people don’t realize.
He was correct. Funny, honest, and accurate about some of the silliness of campaigning, while remaining hopeful about the power of democracy and the general will of people to do good and to do the right thing.
I would have enjoyed this more if I'd read it before the election, but right now, the joke about an incompetent numbskull running for president as a joke / just because he can (even though he doesn't really want to be president) fell a little flat for me.
This book is amazing because this is how me and my sister are always like. This is pretty much my life.I love how the twins are always so competitive and it's almost like the completely different people because the only thing that they agree on is revenge. I recommend this book to everyone.
the characters made this book so good. i loved reese and claudia, and even though the plot was dry (?) the characters made up for it ENTIRELY. i also read this book out of nostalgia, and i think i'll read the other books in the series😁
The tapper twins are battling again only this time for President of the sixth grade. Everyone is involved and it's a dirty battle. Cute and funny. Upper elementary.
