About the author

As an experienced Primary teacher working in international, rural and suburban schools, Chrissy Byers has gained insight in what works in children’s literature and how to inspire young minds. She writes and illustrates children's book which inspire imaginative play.

In her debut book The Magic in Boxes two small boys share they imaginative journey whilst playing with cardboard boxes.

The follow-up book The Magic in Dress-Ups continues along the same theme, using costumes crafted from household junk two girls share their vivid imaginary worlds.

Chrissy is an author, illustrator and independent publisher.

I absolutely love this book! As a teacher I can see how it can be used as an educational resource, encouraging imaginative play and literacy. As a parent, I love the way my son relates to this book. After reading it, he always wants to play with boxes and get creative. Just fantastic! Every parent and teacher needs a copy.
