Let us first list all manner of reasons for realising that there is no luminiferous aether.
Then let us proceed to talk about the luminiferous aether, in total denial of all of the above. About how the luminiferous aether is totally necessary for the well-being of humans (ie high-salaried humans like ourselves).

That being said, some of this talk about the luminiferous aether is - contrary to intentions - valuable, and the chapter on psychology will probably be worth a re-read after reading some of the literature mentioned.
