Ex-cop Charley Easton is almost completely sure that she doesn’t miss her old job. Much. OK, maybe a little. But she IS happy running the security detail at River’s End Ranch, because for the first time ever, she’s got her own beat and people relying on her. Which is why the bad boy who’s been hanging around is really rubbing her the wrong way…what’s he doing on the ranch, anyhow?
Ex-con Tristan Quarles is perfectly content to keep a low profile, and not screw up the best chance at employment he’s had since he got out. But there’s this feisty little not-a-cop who’s just so easy to tease, and he finds himself thinking about River’s End Ranch more than he probably should.
Tristan knows he was locked up for a reason, and that breaking the law is in his blood. But so is loyalty. And when the same crimes begin again—with him as the prime suspect—Tristan and Charley are going to have to figure out where their loyalties lie. To their pasts…or to each other?

Book 24 in the River's End Ranch series and each o e is just as good as the last one. Charlie believed in law and order and never stepping away from that until she meets Tristan. Tristan has spent nine years in prison. Can Charlie stop seeing everything in black and white and start seeing the gray areas of life? Wonderful clean romance.
Caroline Lee has done it again. Another awesome installment in the River's End Ranch series. By far my favorite book of the series, this one is unlike any of the others. Charley has been one of my favorite minor characters every time she's made an appearance and I've been waiting for her to finally have her story. And while I love all the authors in this series, I'm really glad that Caroline is the one to give Charley a voice. Charley always feels a little lonely and vulnerable to me when she pops up in other books, but also a little bad-ass too. I was happy to read her written pretty much the way I had imagined her in my head all this time. This is a must read for all RER fans of course and if you aren't an RER fan it can be read as a stand alone but do yourself a favor and read the other 23 anyway. I received an ARC for a honest review.
I liked this story, in part because it wasn't as focused on the Ranch as others, and that gave it a fresh view, and also, I liked the Jaclyn that I saw here, in part because she wasn't as vague as usual, she was quite clear in her messages, even if her craziness was pretty strong and obvious. The main characters of this book are Tristan and Charley, the new head of security in the Ranch. It was kind a cross-star lovers kind of thing, with an ex-cop and an ex-con, people who shouldn't be together, nor attracted to each other, but that get together despite their problems and learn to trust in each other. Their story had a lot of background stuff and daddy issues, and as usual in the series, they fall in love in no time at all, but the characters feel more mature, despite their issues, and their relationship of mutual understanding is a good one. This is one of the books worth reading in the series.
This is another awesome story in the River’s End Ranch Series and as usually Caroline Lee’s characters are awesome. I love this story of Tristan the ex con and Charley the Ranches Sheriff in the Old Western Town but really the head of security on the Ranch. This has a lot of emotional torment for Tristan mostly but for Charley as well. The emotional torment for Tristan really hits you hard at times when he is struggling with his past and even present. For Charley it was something like Tristan’s but only wanting her father’s and brother’s acceptance as a cop. She just never could get that or get beyond being the Chief’s daughter so never advancement. Tristan’s was worse in many ways as his family immersed him as a young boy into a life of crime.
Their first meeting was by accident when he stopped to see if the car off the road needed help and he met her with a big ole smile. She was gaga over him already just looking at him and could speak. He thought that was rather cute. Then when he was under the hood of her car she couldn’t stop staring at his butt. The whole first chapter had me laughing out loud at both their antics.
Their second meeting at the Ranch didn’t go quite as good as the first, but when they had dinner it was different for both of them.
They became friends and secretly both wanted something more eventually. But there was always something Charley wasn’t sure about.
This is a sweet but also sporadically difficult to read in many places with the emotional torment going on in each one especially more so in Tristan.
But the ending is so good and the whole story was so good I read it quickly. As most of the River’s End Ranch books they are shorter than a novel and easy to read quickly, also hard to put down.
I highly recommend this story of Caroline’s in this series and hope you read it and all the other books in the series rotating through 5 authors are amazing and worth the reading of them.
I was offered this story as an ARC by the author and I willingly accepted it. This is my own honest review as stated in Amazon’s policies, where I was not pressured to do a review. I did not receive any compensation in any form.
f you’ve been following the River’s End Ranch series, I believe you’re going to find that Trusting Tristan is more gritty, more intense and more emotional than what we usually find at the Resort. This story revolves around Charley, our resident security chief and Sheriff in Old West Town at the Resort, and Tristan, an ex-con moving his life in a different, better direction – one that crosses with Charley’s.
I’ll let you discover their story for yourself. It is intense, emotional on so many levels and while we do run into some characters we know from the Resort and previous stories… this one is mainly Tristan and Charley’s show and it is a powerful story. Both are dealing with their pasts, family issues and loyalty and the perception that people have of them because of who they were and are now. Although there are lighthearted moments, it’s not a light romance. This couple will stick with me for a while, they’re strong, courageous and stubborn. And their romance is a trip well worth taking with them.
I’ve enjoyed every single story in the River’s End Ranch series. Trusting Tristan hit my emotions a little bit deeper and I would not hesitate to recommend this story or this series to any Romance reader.
I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
Charley is the cutest sheriff ever. Tristan is the greatest guy ever who is skeptical of the law. After all he was raised to be part of the disestablishment. His father preached anti-government and Tristan was made to live it whereas Charley was raised to believe that the right side of the law is black and white. So how do these two get together? Why with the help of fairies and gnomes of course. Great detective work here to build a foundation of trust.
Tristan is definately a bad boy and officer Charlie is by the book. Tristan's story is, unfortunately, a fact of life for so many kids today. Tristan just wants to move forward and forget his past but it comes back to haunt him. Caroline Lee definately put her heart into this book. It was both a heartwarming and intriguing story. I honestly couldn't put it down. Who wouldn't fall for Tristan?
I really liked this story about an ex cop turned security guard due to being a women with no chance of advancement and an ex con used by his father as a teenage drug runner. Even though they are cautious of each other they find out they need each other and will need to put expectations aside in order to have a happily ever after. I received a complimentary copy and reviewed vountarily.
This book had great characters that the reader can feel connected with by the end of the first chapter. Plot and storyline were different than the rest of the series. The story wasn't just a boy meets girl, something happens and they fall in love. This had a lot more to it. The book could have been expanded to a 3-4 hour novel.
This was such a wonderful read. Tristan and Charley are complete opposites and yet they have so much in common. I throughly enjoyed reading about them falling in love.
I love the Rivers End series. And this book, did not disappoint me. I loved the way Charley showed her Trust of Tristan. I think it was great the way the Caroline showed the way Tristan overcame is misplaced loyalty and did the right thing.
Every time I read another one of Caroline Lee's books it becomes my new favorite story . The next one isn't coming out until October. October? Really? This is torture! Read Caroline Lee's books. You will get lost in them. They are fantastic!
Great story Caroline. Tristan and Charley were wonderful, two people that shared the same sadness that was because of their families. I was wondering how Jaclyn was going to be brought in to the story. I believe that she is the head Fairy. 😁
The Exxon & the Security guard. What a great pair.
This book had drama, friendship & love. What more can you ask for? Tristan is an Exxon just trying to live his life in peace. Charley is a Security guard who is an excop. Wonderful story of when opposites attract.
Charley & Tristan A construction worker living under a bridge carrying all his possessions on his bike striving to overcome his past; an ex—cop turned security guard trying to overcome her father and brother. Can these two lonely people surmount their pasts and find a decent future?
Caroline Lee never disappoints! Anything she writes will be great! Pairing Charley, an ex-cop, with Tristan, a felon, was an amazing idea! 💡It was an interesting ride. Thanks Caroline!
This is probably my favorite book in this series, I loved the sweetness of the characters, Tristan is every girls vbad biy lol hmmm think I am in love 😍

This book was so good! Every time I read another one of Caroline Lee's books it becomes my new favorite! The next one is coming out in October. October? Really? You're torturing me!
Charley and Tristan have both been brought up by hard men who have made it very clear of what type of person they should want and who they should avoid at all costs! It has been drummed into to Tristan that any type of law enforcement are out to trick you and trap you and most definitely cannot be trusted. Charley is from a long line of police officers and has been brought up to believe once a convict, always a convict no matter what the circumstances.
Can they find their way past their upbringings to find the truth and do the right thing?
Fast paced and full of drama, this is the most intense book of the series so far and I loved it! One of my favourites so far, son glad I found this series and even happier it is on Kindle Unlimited!
