His Heart by Sheila Kell a heart rending four-star read. This is the seventh book in the His series and each book can be read a stand-alone, but I would recommend you read them in order to get the whole story and enjoy it. The series as a whole builds up and makes each story better. The journey this book will take you on, it’s a story of second chance love and Matt and Caitlyn’s story is one that you can imagine and understand. I enjoyed how Matt and Caitlyn were the main characters, but there are others pulled in and creating more drama, so it’s not just their story, it makes the whole thing feel more encompassing. This is a story is full of love, mystery and enough twists to keep you guessing from page to page. This is a great story and I can’t wait for the next instalment.

This is the book I have been waiting for since I started reading Sheila Kell's HIS series. Matt always had a secrecy about him and there were major hints that he and Caitlyn were not over on his end. What Matt's secret actually was blew me away. Now that I have more of Matt's background, I want to go back and read all of the other books to see if I missed a major hint about what actually happened to his leg while he was a SEAL.

The reason for Caitlyn and Matt's breakup didn't come as such a surprise. It had to be something major for Matt not to fight it. Matt really took Caitlyn's words to heart when she blamed him, even though neither one was really at fault.

What drew them back together brought their story back in a full circle. To have the man who destroyed your life's brother come after you is scary, especially when you haven't fully recovered. Its clear by Caitlyn's actions and reactions that she had never fully come to terms with how she truly was affected.

I was disappointed with the ending of the story (although the epilogue redeemed it a little). Caitlyn has been hiding out in Kentucky, where she has no support beyond one employee. As much as she hinted to having to stay, she could have moved her operations to Baltimore - there are veterans in Baltimore as well. I get that Matt was willing to give up a lot for her but on some level, it feels as if she is stilting her own recovery. Being around family - even if it is Matt's family (men she clearly knew based on her reaction to all of them), would help her continue to heal from the emotional wounds Travis Ripley caused. The story didn't have a feeling of completion to it and I hope that more of Matt's story is resolved in Brad's book.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read. I would have preferred a little more Hamilton action like the other books but this is definitely a book I will come back to for a second read.

His Heart is the seventh title in the His series, although it can be read as a standalone, this series is incredibly captivating. Matt and Caitlyn's story is a second chance romance, with equal parts suspense, heart and heat.

Ms Kell has crafted a pair of characters that embody strength. Caitlyn and Matt are both survivors and very endearing. Much like his siblings in the previous titles Matt is a very protective, caring alpha.

Told in a dual point of view, this romantic suspense is full of twists and turns, some predictable whilst others were quite surprising.

Another title in the HIS series that is packed of intrigue, suspense, mystery, action and drama, that I've come to expect from Ms Kell. A thoroughly entertaining and engaging read. I look forward to more of this series, and thoroughly recommend this title to anyone who enjoys the romantic suspense genre.

This is book seven of the series but the very first one for me and I must say I really enjoyed this story. I will have to take a look at the other books in this series as some of the characters in this one were very interesting and I would love to learn more about them. You could guess at some of the plot and story lines but it was the journey that had you turning the page wanting more. This is a story about finding a second chance at love and of life in which you will feel emotions for both of the character in their fight to find happiness. I found Matt love and understanding to Caitlyn’s situation to be completely romantic and had my heart melting.

I highly recommend this great book that I received a copy of and this is my voluntary and honest review. Sheila Kell is a new author to me and I am happy to have found her and her wonderful stories and heartfelt characters.

I was gifted my copy of this book, that I write a review was not required, but you know I gotta!

Book 7 in the series, and you don't need to have read the others, but you SHOULD. Not least because I said so! But because they are all really good books! Ms Kell continues to grow in her skill and it SHOWS!! But also, you'd get a better picture about the Hamilton siblings and what they have been through.

Matt, younger twin to Brad, has had his fill of family weddings and his dad's wedding gives him the final kick he needs to find that one girl who stole his heart 8 years ago. She was right to stomp on it, but he needs Caitlyn in his life again. He can only hope she has forgiven him. But what started as a simple visit to Caitlyn's father to ask where she was, turns into much more, and Matt finds himself in exactly the same predicament he watched his brothers in: keeping his woman safe.

Someone is out to get Caitlyn. And Matt and his team turn up at her door, and disrupt her work. But when Caitlyn knows WHO is after her, she relents and lets Matt in. And she lets him in so beautifully!

Research, people, lots of research!! I loved that it shows. After Cailtyn's attack, how she recovers, and goes about finding herself again, finding her calling. Caitlyn's work with dogs and veterans. Matt's immediate and his on going recovery. Lots of research that shows and makes for an amazing read!

I did get, quite early, that there were several levels to this story, with several someones after Caitlyn, and the other thing, but I didn't get who Tate was. Nope, that one sprung on me! LOVE being kept on my toes! But I had Matt's gut churning, that he was missing something, and I was too. Love how it all played out!

The scenes between Caitlyn and Matt when they come together are well written, taking into account all that Caitlyn might be feeling after such a traumatic event, even if it was 8 years ago. Its that research thing again. And once Caitlyn releases herself from that painful hold it had on her, ooooooooooooooeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

Not everyone takes part, and I missed the ladies from previous books here. Most of the brothers pop up at some point though.

LOVED that epilogue! Babies, plural. Had to read that THREE BLOODY TIMES!! No idea why, but I did.

And then there was one. Brad, the last Hamilton to be wedded off, is next. I'll be sad to see the end of HIS and the Hamilton siblings and their respective partners, I really will.

'His Heart' by Sheila Kell is Book Seven in the "His" series. This is the story of Matt Hamilton and Caitlyn Robinson. I have read the previous book in this series but feel this can be a standalone book.
Matt and Caitlyn become engaged about 8 years ago but Caitlyn was attacked and broke of the engagement. When Matt tried to find her she was gone and her father wouldn't tell him where she went. Now 8 years latter after several family weddings, Matt feels he wants to try to talk to Caitlyn again and goes to her father house. There he interrupts an attack on her father and calls the ambulance. While waiting for the ambulance, we learn that Caitlyn is in danger from the Ripley brothers. Caitlyn's father who has been beaten and shot ask that Matt keep his daughter safe. Matt goes to Find Caitlyn and their feelings are still there if not more so. But they have this new found danger to work out and also what happened those 8 years ago.
Exciting Story!! Loved it!

In Book 7 its time for one of the twins to finally get his girl, Matt has always been a bit of a mystery in the other books, quiet, broody compared to his brash Twin.
I would like to mention before I go on that this story involves Rape although it's not described in graphic detail, I thought this should be mentioned for any readers where this may impact them.
I found that the author Sheila Kell has written the book in a way that, concentrates on the feelings and consequences to both Caitlyn and Matt.
The past has burdened Matt Hamilton, he gave Caitlyn his heart as a young lad, and never wanted it back, but when a choice he makes changes Caitlyns life forever, she blames him and pushes him away. Now years later, when he finally decides to put the past to rest, Caitlyns father sends him to protect Caitlyn, he’s prepared to risk everything to make sure she’s kept safe.

Caitlyn has made a life for herself but she lives a sheltered life, working with service dogs for veterans her fledgling charity keeps her busy enough not to feel too lonely, but with a threat on her life, her past comes riding into the scene and he is not going to give up and walk away this time.

As I said at the beginning, Ms. Kell has done a great job in creating a suspenseful but heart grabbing book, that brings to light the aftermath that these types of traumas create in the victim.

The team are out on other cases, but some of the brothers are in this series, supporting Matt and Caitlyn, but the family take a backseat and the story focuses on the two main characters as Matt tries to keep Caitlyn safe, but also able to carry on her vocation of training the special dogs destined to help veterans suffering from PTSD.

I really enjoyed this book, I could see that the author has taken the time to research the subjects she has used in the story, and I was 'googling' service dogs and how they helped a wide range of owners after reading the book. The epilogue was a nice finishing point to the book, I can't wait to see what Ms. Kell has in store for the last brother Brad.

*** I voluntarily reviewed this book, I gained no monetary incentives nor was I specifically requested to review the book, these are my honest ramblings and I hope you enjoy reading them - kat***

My heart was pounding and at times it felt like my heart was being ripped out but Sheila Kell writes a story that as my heart was ripping the author put it back together piece by piece. The story of Matt and his ex fiancée, Caitlyn, recounting why they broke up and the heart wrenching journey they both endured to be finally brought back together after she is threatened once again. She forgives him with what happened, the deplorable act that she endured but in the beginning Matt has a hard time forgiving himself.
I loved their journey which wasn't easy but the patience he shows her and the trust she gives him...melted my heart while making it beat out of my chest. The suspense and danger just heightened it and of course the HIS family banding together and doing what they do best...protect the ones they love.
There were tears in my eyes when he becomes the "submissive" a true alpha man who is always in control but gives it up for her...WOW...couldn't have been written better. The entire story, plot, suspense, action, the tears, the heartbreak and heartache, the love between the two even after all the years and the handling of sensitive issues...perfect and KUDOS to the author.
Even though I had received an ARC I had had had to buy it to show my support to the author but also this now has become my favorite of the HIS series and I can't wait for Brad's story. 10 ++++++

This is the 7th book in the HIS series by Sheila Kell. All the books are standalone stories but if you read them in order you get more of a feel for the Hamiltons and how as a family they all work and play together in each other's featured story.
I really loved Matt & Cailyn's story and I am truly astounded at how much detail and research must have gone into this book to make the story feel more realistic, especially Caitlyn's job of running the charity that trains service dogs to help veterans injured while in combat have a better quality of life.
Matt and Caitlyn have a heartbreaking story that touched me deeply and made me long for them to get their HEA. They were torn apart through the actions of another that left them both feeling angry and hurt at themselves for a long time until fate brought them back together again when Caitlyn is suddenly in danger and Matt is sent to protect her.
The story was very well written and kept me on edge all the way through. It's a full on fast paced story with plenty angst and suspense that kept me gripped and it also includes some very hot sizzling action between Matt and Caitlyn while he is protecting her.
This was a brilliant story which I enjoyed very much. This is another 5 Stars read for me from this amazing author.

HIS Heart is a second chance story about the first of the Hamilton twins, Matt, and his ex fiancé, Caitlyn. Matt has thought of Caitlyn ever since they split up, he still loves her, and is getting closer to going to find her. Caitlyn has been hiding for 8 years since a horrific attack against her, had her lashing out at Matt and she drove him away. When Matt discovers a threat against her, he realises his time is up. He has to find her now, and this time he’s determined he’s not going to lose her again.

I really enjoyed Matt and Caitlyn’s story. It was sad about the how and why they split up, but I liked how the author wrote their reunion. It wasn’t suddenly all ok, it took some work, all while there was an enemy out there gunning for Caitlyn. There’s only one sibling left now, Brad, so while I’m looking forward to his story, it’s a bittersweet excitement as it will likely be the last in this series that I have thoroughly enjoyed. 5 stars for HIS Heart!

Matt hasn't been in the spotlight much in the other stories in this series. There have been hints about his past and not being over Caitlyn. In His Heart, we finally learn what happened. Their relationship broke up after Caitlyn suffers a traumatic event. Another violent event causes Matt to finally comes face to face with Caitlyn. I enjoyed seeing how each of them moved on after their break up. It was even better to see them slowly learn about who they are now. The book had enough suspense to feel similar to the other books in the series. The book can be read alone but it is better when you have some familiarity with the other characters. The epilogue does raise some interest in the next book in the series. I'm looking forward to it. I received an advance copy in return for an honest review.

HIS Heart is the seventh book in the HIS series, and it is time for one of the twins to shine. In this case, it is Matt. Now, Matt had his heart broken eight years ago when Caitlyn pushed him away following a horrific attack. She was dealing with the situation as best she knew, but knew inside that blaming Matt and pushing him away wasn't right. Still, it didn't stop her from doing it. Matt carried the hurt and guilt that Caitlyn laid at his feet, and accepted it as his own. Just when he decides (with a little help from Brad) that he will go see her and apologise, fate (or Sheila Kell) steps in and the whole thing changes.

One of the things that I enjoyed most about this story is that Caitlyn accepts the danger is real, and doesn't do anything stupid. Now, that may seem obvious, but we've all seen it in films and books, where the 'heroine' ignores the open front door and runs upstairs instead. And I've seen it in books, time and again, where the heroine acknowledges the danger, but then acts stupid anyway. So, yes, this bit about Caitlyn? Loved it!

The characters in this are great - most of the Hamilton family we already know, but how other characters are pulled in and made part of the family is a wonderful thing. The other thing that I love about these books is the strong thread of family that pulls it all together. Sheila Kell doesn't just give you one story, and then not mention that character again. She keeps them together, referencing them even if they don't make a physical appearance. This only adds to each book, keeping the continuity and baseline for the series intact.

With no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow, I am pleased to say that I was drawn into Matt and Caitlyn's story, and enjoyed every word. Most definitely recommended by me.

This series keeps getting better and better! I love a good second chance romance, and this one was powerful. I feel that second chance romances only work when you can understand/sympathize with why they broke up originally. That was certainly the case here. They have both been through hell, but eight years later and the love is still there.

The romance is what I love about this series, but the suspense angle was great as well. There were twists and turns to keep things exciting, and I was surprised with how the ending played out. Not all family members were present in this one, but it was great seeing Caitlyn learn all about what the brothers are up to these days. Her reunions with brad and AJ were also really sweet.

I really adored Caitlyn and Matt and couldn't get enough of their romance! The epilogue provided a great ending. Can't wait for Brad's book! 5 stars!

HIS HEART SHIELA KELL

This is the seventh book in the HIS romantic suspense series . It's not necessary to read the series in order but you will have a better insight if you do.
The series order is :
HIS DESIRE (Jesse & Kate)
HIS CHOICE (AJ & Megan)
HIS RETURN (Jake & Emily)
HIS CHANCE (Devon & Rylee)
HIS DESTINY (Trent & Kelly)
HIS FAMILY (Blake & Elizabeth) Novella
HIS HEART (Matt & Caitlyn) Sept 2017

This was the story of Caitlyn and Matt. They were engaged eight years ago and in this book they have a second chance. It's a story of overcoming the past and learning to heal. Therapy dogs are also brought into the picture. A heartwarming love story. I received an advance copy and voluntarily chose to review this book.

I enjoyed this riveting drama that was full of emotion, chilling suspense, complex characters, heartwarming second-chance romance and kept me glued to the book from the first word to the last. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to see what would happen next.

I fell in love with Matt Hamilton, former Navy SEAL, and his dynamic with the other characters, especially Caitlyn Robinson, founder of Helping Paws, a service dog training organization, and his ex-fiancée.

Even though this is the seventh book in the HIS series, it is the first I have read and I was so captivated by the characters and superbly written plot, I purchased all of the books so I can read them in order. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Eight years ago an act violence changed Caitlyn’s life forever. She forced her fiancée, Matt, out of her life and ever since she doesn’t allow anyone close and tries to stay under the radar.

Matt has never moved on from his feelings for Caitlyn and keeps looking for her but now that he knows that she is in danger again nothing will stop him from finding her and keeping her safe.

I love these two characters as they have been through so much and Matt is so protective and understanding. This story is an adventure filled with suspense, twists and most importantly love as they finally have their chance to be together. It is a great addition to the series and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Wow!!! That's all I can say about this book. Matt and Caitlyn's story is one you have got to read. Trust this reader when I say that this series gets better and better with each installment.
After being away from each other for eight years, and subsequently both blaming themselves for the tragedy that struck, and ripped them apart, Matt Hamilton and Caitlyn Robinson are thrown back together so he could be her bodyguard and protector. With the help of his brothers in the HIS (Hamilton Investigation & Security) Agency, will Matt be able to save Caitlyn from the threat to her life and the monster who has haunted her for the past eight years? Will Caitlyn and Matt be able to rekindle the relationship they once had?
You'll have to read the book and find out...
Sheila Kell has another hit on her hands with this one. A definite 5 star read!!!

I am such a sucker for second chances! Although new to Sheila's writing and no familiarity with this series I was able to truly enjoy the story of Matt and Caitlyn. Beautifully told story of working your way through horrible trails in life and finding strength, renewed love and new purpose. Suspense threaded through out the story in a way that keeps you involved right to the end. Steamy love scenes with a romantic slant that was truly lovely. The only down side is that I have to go back and read the other stories in this series! I voluntarily read an ARC of this book.

I have not read a book by Sheila Kell that I didn't like. This one touched me in so many aspects. I hesitate what to share because I don't want to give any spoilers. Love our men and women, great read. Love dogs, great read. Watching a women grow from a devastating incident, great read.

You can absolutely read this alone, but I agree you will enhance your enjoyment if you read them in order. I had no knowledge of SING, thank you for a suspenseful, xtra steamy (my least favorite part)
and informative book.

First off, I am really disappointed that this is the first Sheila Kell book I have ever read, say nothing about the first of this series.  Where have I been?

Loved this book.  It was engaging, and action packed and kept me on the edge the whole time.  The minute I thought I had it all figured out, I realized I didn't.  I love it when an author will keep me guessing.  There wasn't a single spot in this book that I was bored.

Personally for me, His Heart pulled at my heart strings.  I have my own Veteran at home and stories that have anything to do with a military man, immediately get my attention.  The fact that this centered around wounded Veterans...made His Heart a complete win for me.

Another thing I loved about this was the closeness of the family.  Those boys, and sister, will drop anything and everything for one of their siblings and I found that very impressive?  Probably not the word I am looking for, but you don't find that kind of loyalty just anywhere.  The fact that they were willing to help out for someone just because she was someone that Matt care for and loved...swoon!

I cannot wait to go back and read the previous books.  His Heart is listed as HIS #7...but I didn't feel like I had to have read the previous 6 books to understand what was going on.  I want to but I certainly don't have to.

Reading time for His Heart was around 6 hours...broken up into two portions, because life.  But I would have totally binged this whole book in one sitting had I had the time.

Overall, this was a good read for me, no disappointment anywhere.  I am happily giving His Heart 5 stars.

Once again, Ms Kell brings us another great story in her HIS series. This time it’s Matt Hamilton’s story and the love he lost 8 years ago, Caitlyn.
It’s a story filled with heartbreak, intrigue, bad guys, a strong alpha male, and a broken woman.
Will they survive the evil surrounding them, will there be a second chance for Matt and Caitlyn, or will it be good-bye?
Another well written story with complex plot and characters.
I was gifted this copy. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Kell writes romantic suspense that will steam your windows.

The HIS series continues with His Heart - Matt's second chance at love with his former fiance. The characters are well defined and believable. The story is well written and suspenseful. The scenes are hot. I have enjoyed this series.

I highly recommend this book to fans of the romantic suspense genre who like a heavy dose of steam.

Another awesome book in the HIS series. I just love a story about a man that loves a woman and continues to love her even tho things happen and she pushes him out of her life. Coming back in to her life is an adjustment but he realizes he should have never left...and she realizes it too. Now he's in a fight to save her life and love her the rest of his life. If you like a book with mystery, love, and life grab this one...

At first I thought this would be your standard lovers separate, then reunite type of book with some suspense and action thrown in. Boy was I wrong!! I should have known that Ms. Kell would write a fantastic book with a few surprises thrown in -- especially a big one regarding Matt's background. This book really pulls at your emotions throughout for both characters. But in the end, this book is about overcoming tragedy and heartache, and being better for what one has to go through to get to that point. I love Matt's story as it is one of my favorites in the series.

Matt Hamilton gave away his heart to Caitlyn Robinson, knowing that he would never love anyone else. But when a tragic event happens, she breaks his heart, and he's never been the same. Now eight years later, he's given the chance to protect her, and of course, he jumps at it, but he's not sure how she will react to seeing him again. Caitlyn has never gotten over Matt, but the attack that happened had her blaming him, however, now that she's healed some, she knows it wasn't his fault. But she's made peace with the fact that they won't have a future. However, when her past resurfaces, Matt also appears to keep her safe, and she realizes that she doesn't want to let him ago again. Will he be able to keep her safe from the danger so they have a second chance?! Boy, am I mad that I came to the Sheila Kell EPIC party of HIS, 7 books too late! His Heart was AMAZING story that I devoured in one sitting. Matt was the tortured soul hero that had me falling for him hard, while Caitlyn's defining moment brought tears to my eyes, and I was cheering for them instantly. Together, they made up TNT, and when they exploded, the sexy times were panty meltin goodness! The colorful cast of secondaries kept me laughing, especially Matt's twin, while the fast paced story line was filled with suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat. Not to mention, the twists & turns kept the f-bombs dropping in every direction. Sheila Kell, with her talented writing style, has made me an instant fan girl, as she hooked me completely! I CANNOT WAIT to read ALL the previous books, not to mention the next book, as I'm addicted! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Sheila Kell tells a captivating story about lost love and the broken lovers finding their way back to each other. This book is part of the HIS Family series, but can also be read as a standalone. From the first chapter, you will be drawn into the world of Matt and Caitlin as Matt tries to reconnect with Caitlin while also trying to save her life from the men that are trying to harm her. Another great addition to the HIS series ! I really enjoyed Matt's story ! The back story gave it a little different tone than the previous books, but it had all the suspense and hotness of the previous Hamilton brothers ! Keep em coming Sheila !!! Looking forward to Brad's story!

Sheila manages to find the right balance between the action and intrigue with the steamy romance and the kind of family bond everyone wishes they had with theirs. His Heart is a great read without being predictable and each of the alpha males in the series has similar but also a very unique personality, so that it doesn't seem like you are reading the same storyline, just tweaked. Cannot wait for the next one!

Another wonderful book in this great series!! This book can be read as a stand-alone book, but you will fall in love with the characters and go back and read the rest if you haven't. Matt and Caitlyn's story is one of overcoming a past and looking at the future, learning to forgive and following your heart! I voluntarily read an ARC of this book.
