Many code examples and step-by-step introduction into Packer. Ideal for beginners. Personally, I most enjoyed the testing approaches towards the end of this book. Also a very basic overview of Plugin development for Packer is given at the end.

Very well written, albeit a bit short. Technically correct and exactly what I needed to understand Packer overall.
