Cooper Hayes, a travel blogger, is always in search of his next adventure. He loves his big family and the small town he grew up in, but after a prolonged visit home, the itch to take off grows, until he meets an uptight woman with gorgeous eyes and a sharp tongue. Something about her, and her immunity to his charm, makes him question everything.
Sarah Kramer, a single mother who puts her son above everything else, refuses to even glance in a man’s direction. Then she comes face to face with the elusive Cooper Hayes, a man not only of mystery and intrigue but someone who pushes her buttons and gets her hot in a way no man ever has, and she can’t deny the instant attraction, even if he is an over-confident jerk.
Sarah agrees to go on a date with Cooper, to give herself one night of fun. But their night takes a turn, reminding her she’s a mom above everything else, and giving her no choice but to put an end to the growing desires. Unfortunately, living in a small town makes it impossible to avoid each other, and it’s only a matter of time before their undeniable chemistry explodes.
Will Sarah finally be able to open her heart to a man? And if she does, will it be reason enough for Cooper to stay?

Long bio:
Theresa Paolo lives in Long Island, NY with her fiancé and their fish. She writes steamy small-town romances with sassy heroines, sexy heroes and feisty townspeople. When she's not writing, she's reading, brewery hopping, or daydreaming. She loves coffee, all things Christmas and fall, and making lists.
Narrator does a good job. Not my favorite fit for the characters, but a solid performance that I enjoyed listening to.
I enjoy the writing and the town of Red Maple Falls. I like the feel good tone of this series. The premise for this one just wasn’t something I like. Cooper is the type that can’t settle; he doesn’t do commitment very well. He meets and is attracted to Sarah, who is a single mom with walls built up. He asks her out, she eventually says yes because she decides a one night stand sounds like a great idea. I hate no strings scenarios; so stupid to think it’ll work great. Turns out, Cooper wants more than that, but based on his past actions, people don’t trust he won’t get scared and try to run. Just all not the type of premise that draws me in. The story is nice and I did enjoy parts of it. Cooper and Sarah have a good connection and for sure have some heat. I didn’t like that it seemed like she was trying to hide that she had a son, and her using her being a single parent as a shield to be closed off; she was kind of tough for me to like. Especially, when the author throws in another scenario I don’t like in books and Sarah was thinking of not telling Cooper; that she even thinks of withholding important information from Cooper made me not like Sarah. I liked Cooper; he’s generally a nice guy with a good heart. So, overall, this book just isn’t for me. I’m still excited to read the rest of the series though! Interested to see how the rest of the Hayes siblings figure out their love lives.
I love small town romances, where everybody knows everybody (so don't even think about hiding your love affair,) and the town is full of quirky but loveable townspeople! Theresa Paolo's Red Maple Falls series is one of those series. Red Maple Falls has everything a romance lover can ask for! Small town relationships with a gossip line that puts ATT to shame - check! Quirky townspeople - check out Terry and the Happy Apple diner! But most importantly, Theresa Paolo has packed this series full of love, romantic love, and family love.
Catching Cooper is book four in the series. I found all the main characters to be well-developed and relatable, but I admit I have a soft spot in my heart for Cooper Hayes. Cooper is the Hayes brother born under a wandering star. His personality has always been too big to confine to small town living. So he left home searching for adventure. However, no matter how far he is roamed or how many wonderous sights he saw, something seemed to be missing. It was like a big puzzle piece size hole in his soul. I can relate. I grew up in a town like Red Maple Falls and believed the best view of my hometown was the view from my rear view mirror. Almost 14 years later, with a war on in the Middle East, I returned home pregnant with no idea where my Special Ops husband was deployed and if I might be raising our baby alone. It took a war and the birth of my daughter to realize that there was a lot to be said for a family's unconditional love and a small town where everyone knows your name. Theresa Paolo empathy for family, love, and small town living shines in Catching Cooper. Her characterization of Cooper captures the psyche of a wanderlust personality perfectly. His relationship with Sarah and Tommy brought tears to my eyes.
Theresa Paolo controlled my emotions as I read Catching Cooper. Her words had me crying one moment ,caught up in perfect memories of coming home and finding true love. The next minute, I would be rolling on the ground laughing with Theresa's accounting of Sunday dinners and Grandma Betty's non- filtered demands for great grand babies! Catching Cooper is a feast of feel - good feelings, love, and laughter. Very well written, Theresa Paolo's Catching Cooper is a Must- Read for small-town romance lovers!
Sarah is a single mother who meets Cooper. She prioritizes her son (which is good) but boy, I thought she was a little too mean in multiple areas of the book. Cooper is a free spirit who travels for his blog and therefore, he wasn't looking for someone serious, especially a single mother. However, once he met Sarah, he basically had little to no reservations about being with a single mother. But for me, the relationship wasn't as realistic because I felt like Sarah was being very sharp and antagonistic toward Cooper without a good reason.
Regardless, towards the end, I started to like the characters more and since they are seen in other books of this series, it was good to get their backstory too.
I listened to the audiobook to read the story. Krista Nicely was good, as she's been for this series. As this is told with a dual POV though, I do think it would have benefitted from a male narrator as well. But she did a good job narrating the story. 🎧AudiobookObsessionReviewer, AudiobookObsessionReviewer
How do you satisfy wanderlust? Cooper is the one member of the Hayes family that lives to travel. His Instagram account had thousands of followers who love his adventures. But he is home for his brother’s wedding and is staying til the birth of his child. But will there be something to prevent him from leaving again? He first sees Sarah in the bakery and even she warns him off. But will he give up? And will Sarah be able to resist him? This one is my favorite of the series. There is something about Cooper that intrigues me. I think it’s his spirit. Very self confident, he us easy to like. Sarah is sweet and real which makes her irresistible. I love this family, especially the grandmother who always has a wise comment. The feel is small town warmth and it makes it a feel good listen.
Krists Nicely keeps bringing this series to life. I am enjoying her voices and consistency. She makes the listen very enjoyable.
Cooper might just be my favorite Hayes sibling so far. I absolutely adored him.
Cooper has never been in one place for too long. He makes his money as a travel blogger. But he’s been home with his family for a good amount of time now and he’s starting to get the itch to travel again. Then he meets Sarah. Sarah is a single mom who takes his breath away. Is she enough to keep him in one place?
I absolutely loved Cooper. His spirit was just so much fun. He loves life and loves to live it to its fullest. I absolutely loved learning more about him and getting to see more of his life. I loved his relationship with his family and getting to see him interact with all the previous couples from this series. Most of all I loved his relationship with Sarah’s son. I could really tell how much Cooper cared about him. Sarah, however, really got on my nerves. She really kept thinking the worst of Cooper no matter what. Even if he had proved himself to her before, she still thought the worst of him. That just really got old really fast. To be honest, I loved pretty much everything about this book except for Sarah.
Krista Nicely did a good job with the audio. I still wish there was a bit more of a difference between the different speaking voices. And I felt like there were some awkward pauses. But overall, I enjoyed her performance!

Living in a small town where everyone knows your name and business can be stressful at times. Cooper has been home for over a year from his travels. He has traveled to seventy-four countries and has a blog about it. He is starting to get restless when Cooper is helping his sister-in-law, Shay, (who is on bed rest due to her pregnancy) in her bakery shop. In walks Sarah for her usual Monday muffin and the relationship starts. Cooper in informed by his sister that Sarah has a seven year old son which Cooper thinks not so good. One of Sarah's friends tells her to go have fun with Cooper and she does. But while she was having fun her son was brought to the ER and she did not know until Cooper's brother, Matt informed them. Sarah closes down the relationship but Cooper is determined to get it back. The story is good and a fast read.
Title: Catching Cooper Author: Theresa Paolo Format: Audio Narrator: Krista Nicely Genre: Romance, Contemporary, small town, single mother Standalone: Yes Part of a series: Book 4 in the Red Maple Falls series POV: Cooper and Sarah Steam Levea: Steamy 4/5
This series is adorable and Catching Cooper continues to be cute. I love the characters that Theresa Paolo created, especially Grandma Betty. I like that you get to see more of the previous couples' HEAs in the current book but I miss epilogues. I saw the twist coming a mile away but I still enjoyed it and the reveal. Overall Catching Cooper was a lot of fun and I enjoyed it.
I received this audiobook for free from Audiobook Obsession. This is my honest and voluntary review.
Cooper and Sarah story is fun loving and heartbreaking and a little sexy also. Sarah's had a rough start being a single Mom and meets a handsome , some might call a drifter ( always looking to the next place and never staying any place to long). Till he thinks he's found what he's been looking for all along , right in his own hometown. Everyone fights the chemistry but, the heart wants what the heart wants. Good job excellent story line.
Sarah, a single mom, putting son first. She's not interested in dating. since her ex left when she was pregnant. She doesnt trust men at all.. Until she went on a blind date with Cooper. He is interented in breaking down her walls, but is torn with his job traveling or stay home and pursue her. I enjoyed listening to this story narrated by Krista Nicely.🎧audiobookobsessionreviewer🎧
This was the first book I read in the series and pretty good. Just not a fan of the abrupt HEA ending. What did Cooper do for his career? Did they get married? Where did they live? So maybe not abrupt ending but cliffhanger to get you to purchase next book? Disappointed and considering whether or not to read the next book in series.
I used to travel the world, so I could really feel for his wanting the next adventure. But once you decide to clip your wings for the right person or best situation, it's all worth settling down. The characters were interesting. Sarah was a very strong personality. Cooper had qualities I saw in other adventurers. Nice characters.
It is so similar to another box set I read just before this one. I dont know maybe just coincidence but the other was published prior to this one. I know these type of stories are all the same base story but I still usually enjoy them. I just couldn't get over the dejvu feeling through the series.
Love this book. Insecurity can cause you a lot of grief, but hopefully love can take it all away. Sarah has raised her son by herself since she was sixteen, so believing in someone is hard.
Ok so I was not as in love with this one as I have been. It felt a bit long I guess but I still love the characters and how they are brought to life in these stories.
Cooper sees Sarah and is interested but she has no time for no one but her son and business. One night is not enough for him and he must convince her that he is worth the risk and that he has staying potential.
Such a cute book. I am a sucker for a book about a single mom who finds her soulmate. This book had me in tears at times, and also laughing my head off. The characters were charming and adorable. The being was perfect.
This was a cute romance story. Pretty typical. Boy meets girl. Girl meets boy. They fall in love. I really liked the extended family interactions and how the main characters fought with real problems. Nice easy read.
Catching Cooper was a great story. I loved Cooper and Sarah. They make a great couple. There was lots of angst created by both of them. Another 5 star book in the Red Maple Falls series.
Cooper and Sarah's story was great to read. The characters had good depth and the plot was engaging. I look forward to reading the remaining books in the series.
Thank you to Theresa and her team for providing me with the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
I love how there was a kid aspect in this book because that definitely happens in real life. Of course this book is still just as cheesy as the other ones I have read and listened too but it still makes me happy.
One issue I did have with this book is when Sarah finds out she is pregnant and is thinking about how she can’t buy baby clothes because she doesn’t know the gender, unless she buys them in yellow. For a long time pink was for girls, blue was for boys and yellow was the mutual color but we are now in a generation where color doesn’t matter.
Overall, this was a good listen.
