Lucy Quinn is the brainchild of New York Times bestselling author Deanna Chase and USA Today bestselling author Violet Vaughn. Having met over a decade ago in a lampwork bead forum, the pair were first what they like to call “show wives” as they traveled the country together, selling their handmade glass beads. So when they both started writing fiction, it seemed only natural for the two friends to pair up with their hilarious, laugh-out-loud, cozy mysteries. At least they think so. Now they travel the country, meeting up in various cities to plan each new Lucy Quinn book while giggling madly at themselves and the ridiculous situations they force on their characters. They very much hope you enjoy them as much as they do.
Deanna Chase, is a native Californian, transplanted to the slower paced lifestyle of southeastern Louisiana. When she isn’t writing, she is often goofing off with her husband in New Orleans, playing with her two shih tzu dogs, or making glass beads.
Violet Vaughn lives in coastal New Hampshire where she spends most mornings in the woods with her dogs, summer at the ocean, and winters skiing in the mountains of Maine.
I freely admit I'm addicted to Cozy Mysteries and this 7 book set is a real treat for lovers of the sub-genre as well as an absolute bargain.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Cozy Mysteries, the multi-author, multi-genre series of stand alone stories for the mystery buff with an open mind and a sense of humour. Cozy Mysteries come in all genres and are generally clean, but there will be kissing in a lot, although not all, of them, sometimes heated, so parents should judge age suitability for themselves. Personally, I think 11 or 12 is the lower age limit for the more heated ones, but others are suitable for all ages. I'd have loved these books at that age.. well any age really. Think mystery with good humour and a classic Mills & Boon/Harlequin type romance twist and you won't go far wrong. Although I have got this boxset, I've only read one of the books so far, and although I've got books by most of the authors, owing to life, the universe and everything, I haven't had time to read some of them so a couple are effectively new to me authors. My review is primarily for the first book in the set, but I've also included expectations based on my personal experience reading other books by some of the authors which I hope will be of some help.
1 - New Corpse in Town (Secret Seal Isle Mysteries, Book 1) - Lucy Quinn - 5 Stars
This was a teriffic start to a new series when I originally read it in July 2016. It had me totally hooked, laughing from start to finish and I absolutely loved it.
A new author name has joined an illustrious group of Cozy writers - Hello Lucy Quinn. And hello to a brand new contemporary series under the Cozy Mystery banner as 'New Corpse in Town', the first book in the Secret Seal Isle Mysteries starts out with some serious flirting followed almost immediately by the screaming. This is a terrific start to the new series, and although I'm a confirmed Cozy addict, the series' and authors are all different to each other so I had no idea what to expect from this book, but I was hooked and laughing from beginning to end as the long-suffering heroine and her former partner at the FBI, investigate the death of the local 'wannabe' whilst trying, not particularly successfully, to reign in the antics of a totally off-the-wall born-again hippy in the form of our heroine's mother. Embarrassed doesn't even begin to cover it...
Having moved to Secret Seal Isle (Pop. 347), somewhere remote (think 'plane, smaller 'plane, car, boat, car, walk) off the coast of Maine, in an effort to protect her mother and herself from mob retribution, Cookie James (not her real name) is taking a long, and probably permanent, leave of absence from the FBI, has bought the Secret Seal Inn and settled down to a life of non-crime. Unfortunately, it doesn't last long. Cookie is admiring the view... of the handyman Dylan, and indulging in a little hot but harmless flirting when the peace is shattered by screaming and the appearance of Cookie's mother, who renamed herself, I love it... Rain Forest, running up the hill from the cove below, wet, completely topless and horrified that she'd almost been drowned... by a dead man. And that's just the beginning....
I'm not giving spoilers here, and I absolutely loved this book with it's humour and terrific cast of characters from salty old sea dogs to the local drug dealer as well as some whacky individuals including Rain and her old friend Winter Sage, the book is simply overflowing with suspects and was laugh out loud funny. There's lots of sizzling chemistry between Cookie and the men, as well as some serious testosterone fuelled rivalry, but if you're hoping for hot and steamy bits, you're not going to get them. At least not from Cookie, and she has a choice to make....
Well written in the third person, the story moves along at a good pace and it's easy to keep up with all the twists and turns, as well as the building of the characters' backgrounds and personalities. It had me in stitches and I was still chuckling at the end. I was really looking forward to reading the next book in this terrific new series and I absolutely loved that one too. I've also got the third book, but haven't had time to read it yet.
2 - Loiusiana Longshot (Miss Fortune Mystery, Book 1) - Jana Deleon
I've got a few books by Jana DeLeon, including this one which I bought from Amazon UK in December last year but, owing to life interferring, I haven't had time to read it yet. I've found most of her books, particularly the Cozy Mysteries, to be very good 5* reads. They're laugh out loud funny with terrific stories and plot lines, clean romance and I have every reason to believe this one will be equally as good, when I have time to read it.
It was a hell of a long shot....
CIA assassin Fortune Redding is about to undertake her most difficult mission ever—in Sinful, Louisiana. With a leak at the CIA and a price placed on her head by one of the world's largest arms dealers, Fortune has to go off-grid, but she never expected to be this far out of her element. Posing as a former beauty queen turned librarian in a small bayou town seems worse than death to Fortune, but she's determined to fly below the radar until her boss finds the leak and puts the arms dealer out of play. Unfortunately, she hasn't even unpacked a suitcase before her newly inherited dog digs up a human bone in her backyard.
3 - Rosemary's Gravy (We Sisters Three Mystery, Book 1) - Melissa F. Miller
Although I've got a few stand alone books by Melissa F. Miller, 'Rosemary's Gravy' being one of them, which I actually bought a few months ago from Amazon UK, life got in the way and I haven't read any of them yet, so I have no idea what to expect in terms of writing style or content, but the one thing all the Cozy Mysteries I've read, and I've read a lot of them, have in common is that they're funny, clean and have terrific stories, so I expect this one will be too.
Personal chef Rosemary has more experience sautéing than sleuthing. But when her client dies from an allergic reaction, Rosemary must clear her name. She would never bring peanut oil into her boss’s house — so who did? A witty and satisfying mystery from a USA Today bestselling author.
4 - Scene of the Grind (Killer Coffee Mystery, Book 1) - Tonya Kappes (Includes recipes)
I've got a few books by Tonya Kappes, bought from Amazon UK, but this isn't one of them and I haven't had time to read the others, at least, I don't remember reading any of them, so to all intents and purposes, she's a brand new author to me and I have no idea what to expect, but if it follows the usual Cozy Mystery themes, I'm in for a real treat when I finally get the time to read it. The recipes from The Bean Hive look good too, five for humans, sweet, savoury and liquid, and one for a dog treat.
Roxy's life couldn't be better. Business was booming, she's reconnected with special people from her past, including her first teenage love, and visits The Crooked Cat book store, which is still her favorite shop in Honey Springs. One problem, Aunt Maxi and Alexis Roarke, owner of Crooked Cat, aren't on the best of terms. And when Roxy takes Alexis a fresh cup of coffee from The Bean Hive and a tasty pastry as a peace offering between the two women, she discovers the beloved book store owner murdered and Aunt Maxi is the number one suspect. Gossip in Honey Springs is as hot as the coffee served at the Bean Hive and Roxy has to uncover who is behind the murder not only to save her shop, her aunt, but her life.
5 - The Case of the Screaming Beauty (Inspector David Graham Cozy Mysery, Book 1) - Alison Golden (Links to free prequels)
I've bought a few Alison Golden books, including some Cozy Mysteries, from Amazon UK, one of them is actually the second book in this series, but I haven't had time to read them yet, so I really have no idea what to expect, but if they follow the general pattern, despite this one having a professional instead of an amateur, they'll be great and I'm really looking forward to having some time to read them.
The prestigious Lavender Bed and Breakfast in Chiddlinghurst, England has a rich, Tudor atmosphere, an enviously manicured lawn… And a deadly problem. A young, beautiful woman, Norah Travis, has been found murdered in one of the rooms with no witnesses and seemingly no motive. Detective Inspector Graham, a man with a singular drive, a penchant for tea, and silent demons of his own, has been brought in to ferret out the perpetrator.
6 - The Secret of Seaside (Paige Comber Mystery, Book 1) - Agatha Ball
Agatha Ball is a brand new author to me and that's what I love most about multi- author boxsets, the chance to read new authors at the same time as old and trusted favourites.
Paige Comber dreams of running off to Paris to train at the Cordon Bleu, but fresh out of college, she is stuck running her granny's coffee shop in the small town of Seaside. It looks like a lousy summer until a handsome stranger named Nate arrives. He's here to help his Uncle Byron with his affairs, but when his uncle's body washes up on the beach and Nate is thrown into prison, it is up to Paige to find out which of the town's colorful characters might have been crazy enough to do it.
7 - Murder at Honeysuckle Hotel (Trash to Treasure Crafting Mystery, Book 1) - Rose Pressey
I've been reading the wonderful stories of Rose Pressey for a few years now and got my first book by her from Amazon UK in 2013. I've loved all of them and despite not having time to read this one yet, I've never been disappointed so I expect this one will be just as good as the others I've read and I'm looking forward to having some time to just sit and read it.
When Raelynn Pendleton inherits a Victorian house, she jumps at the chance to turn it into a hotel and turn her life around. But before the new Honeysuckle Hotel even opens for business, Raelynn discovers the body of a young woman in the garden. As a newcomer in town, Raelynn is blamed for the murder. She's fired from her job, which could mean she'll lose the house.
Book 1 A New Corpse In Town by Lacy Quinn Cookie James, After taking an extended leave from the FBI after a tough case and wanting to just relax and get away from crime and law enforcement, moves to Secret Seal Isle with her mother under an assumed name. Just to have her mom almost drowned by a body washing up to the shore from the ocean behind the Inn they bought. As the local deputy does not appear to be interested in investigating, she calls her ex-partner from the FBI to investigate. Things heat up quickly, professionally and personally.
Book 2 Louisiana Longshot by Jana Deleon Fortune Redding, An assassin for the CIA is being relocated to Sinful Louisiana under an the assumed name of her boss's niece, to go through the aunts things and get her house ready for probate, while they hide her away until they can locate the head of the Arab arms dealer whose Brother in Law she killed before fleeing the Mid-East. With instructions to keep a low profile. She intends to do so until a bone washes up in her aunts' yard from the bayou putting her in the sights of Deputy Carter just hours after her arrival. This is one of my all-time favorite series that I have read multiple times. We are introduced to Fortune, Ida Bell, and Gertie. The latter two are spinsters who are elderly, as Fortune would say "Older than dirt" They run the town of Sinful with the other Sinful Ladies Society (SLS) members. and very little gets past them. Follow them in their hijinks as Ida Bell lays down the law and you never know what Gertie will pull from her purse next. Be prepared to laugh.
Book 3 Rosemary's Gravy by Melissa F. Miller Rosemary Field, Chemist first, working for Amber Patrick as a personal holistic chef to pay off the bills her parents left her and her sisters from their failed business. When Amber is killed from anaphylactic shock by someone adding peanut oil to her bottle of wine. Guess who has access to everything Amber eats? And becomes the #1 Suspect.
Book 4 Scene Of The Grind By Tonya Kappas Roxanne Bloom (Roxy) moves to Honey Springs, Kentucy to be closer to her aunt Maxine, where she had spent many summers. Just in time to open her own coffee shop just before the annual Honey Festival. When her aunt is accused of murdering the owner of the book store. Roxy has to find the real murderer to save her aunt from prison, her shop, and her very own life. Tonya wrote a very good story as usual, But it took more than ¼ of the book to get to the mystery part of the book.
Book 5 The Case of the Screaming Beauty by Alison Golden Amelia Swansbourne, owner of The Lavender Bed and Breakfast is peacefully weeding her garden when a piercing scream comes from the window of one of the rooms above her. When she gets to the room, Norah Travis, one of the guest calmly answers the door. The next morning Norah's body is discovered on the floor of the bathroom. Suspects are the owners, the housekeeper, a journalist staying there, the deceased ex. Inspector Graham calmly and coolly goes through the evidence and suspects. And the story has a grand finally ending and reveal much in the way Hercule Poirot ended his investigations.
Book 6 The Secret of Seaside by Agatha Ball Paige Comber, Is in Seaside for the summer to help her granny run the Bitter Beans Coffee & Bookshop, so she can get real life experience of running a shop as that is her goal due to having completed a vocational school to learn how to bake. When Bryan, also visiting the isle to help his uncle is arrested after finding the uncle's body floating in the waves, Paige sets out to find the guilty party at any cost. Possibly even her own life.
Book 7 Murder at Honeysuckle Hotel by Rose Pressey Raelynn Pendleton, recently divorced inherits an old victorian house and all its belongings from an elderly woman who she had always been nice to. The only way to keep the house is to turn it into a hotel, in which she has no experience. Before she can open she discovers the body of a woman who is new to the area in the garden and she is charged with the murder.
With this book I have discovered four new to me authors, and will be picking up five new series. I had already read two of these stories and have the complete series for them. The authors have worked together to put out a book that was fun to read while not being overly complicated. There is a good bit of humor in them and most of them has extremely well-developed characters. None of these stories have much if any foul language and there are no explicit scenes in them. I believe you will enjoy these stories if you give them a try.
This boxset is excellent value, with stories that take you to so many different settings that it's almost like going on holiday in your mind! They're excellently written, with great characters, and as Cozy books they're suitable for everyone from young adults upwards.
Book 1 - New corpse in town by Lucy Quinn(4*) Detracted by too much googling over blokes, otherwise a good cozy mystery, set on the very gorgeously named Secret Seal Isle. Loved the premise of Cookie being an ex FBI agent who is transplanted there following a bad outcome in a case involving the local mob (though it's never clear why it's just her in that situation and not her FBI partner too, who we meet in the course of the story!) - very original instead of just being bored, forced out because of sexism, going bad or something similar that's the usual scenario when an ex law enforcement officer is the main character. And can I just say how much I love her mother - the weed-smoking, tie-dye wearing (when she's not going au-natural!), sex-mad Rain Forest (yup, that's the name she chose for herself when they relocated - can you imagine a much hippy-er name?!)
Book 2 - Louisiana Longshot by Jana Deleon (5*) Cozy mystery that is well-written with funny characters that really bring it to life. Having a sleuth with training is a nice change from typical Cozy books (though for a CIA agent Fortune can be pretty dense!), but it's really Gertie and Ida Belle who steal the show for me - they're so funny and kick serious butt despite being OAPs. Just the kind of grannies I'd like. I'd definitely recommend this story to anyone who likes murder-mysteries, Cozy mysteries, or who fancies meeting the kick-butt grannies, and I'm definitely looking forward to reading more of their adventures!
Book 3 - Rosemary's Gravy by Melissa F Miller (4*) A good little read but it was very obvious who the killer was - why doesn't anyone ever know for AGES?! Well-written and with some good characters (although the way the author went into extreme detail about some characters (especially about the love interests!) and many others barely got a mention in passing, despite being key to the story was quite disappointing and annoying), it made for a good way to pass an hour or so. I'd like to read a prequel to the series where we find out more about Rosemary's family's story as it sounds intriguing!
Book 4 - Scene of the Grind by Tonya Kappes (5*) Liked this story, and it's always an added bonus when it includes yummy recipes (my assistance dog can confirm the doggy treats recipe is yummy - he keeps bringing me the pnut butter as a hint to make more!)!! Loved the sound of the coffee shop, but more particularly of the bookshop - I want one here, to get lost in all day! Maybe Roxy could combine the two and then it would be both her and my idea of heaven *sigh* Anyway, in the real world, this is a great little story, and well worth a read.
Book 5 - The Case of the Screaming Beauty by Alison Golden A lovely murder mystery with lots of twists and turns, plus a surprise culprit!
Book 6 - The Secret of Seaside by Agatha Bell (5*) This book was well-written with good characters to bring the action to life. I loved the use of twists and red herrings that made it so hard to guess who the murderer was, and what had really happened - must be the sneakiest Cozy I've read in ages! I'd definitely recommend it for all murder-mystery lovers, and as a Cozy it's suitable for everyone from young adults up. I'm definitely going to look into more books in this series.
Book 7 - Murder at Honeysuckle Hotel by Rose Pressey (5*) I loved the premise of this book and the characters involved. The crafting on a budget that Raelynn has to do to decorate her new home is very familiar to me, so I could very much relate to her, but the ideas in the book also gave me some ideas - and I loved that the author gave instructions at the end of the book for the main projects she talked about, the same way other authors give recipes. Anyway, it's a great story, and I loved the descriptive writing style of the author - the backyard of Raelynns new home for example is so well described that I almost feel I'm walking in it with her (and I'd love to!). This is a great Cozy murder mystery and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes them, from young adults upwards. NB I received a complimentary copy of this book, but I always give an HONEST review based wholly on my own opinions
This is a great deal, seven cozy mysteries for less than the price of one. This is a fantastic way to find new authors or add to your collection of your favorite authors. These books are full length and all first in their series. A couple of the books give your a bonus of recipes or decorating tip at the end of their book. I would definitely recommend purchasing this set of books.
I am a cozy lover, I have always love mysteries, cozies are a quick clean and amusing sometimes romantic way to enjoy a mystery. These cozies fit that description and more. I am not going to review all the books here but I will give you a short review of a few of them.
Louisiana Longshot by Jana Deleon is a hilarious book about a CIA agent -Fortune Redding- that has been forced into hiding out to save her life. Fortune is who used to fighting and killing is forced to take on the part of a innocent and sweet ex-beauty queen librarian in a small bayou town in Louisiana. When a dead body shows up and Fortune meets two of the town’s senior citizen chaos and hi-jinks ensue as they try to solve the murder. I loved this book I laughed until I was crying. I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys a mystery or a comedy.
Scene of the Grind by Tonya Kappes is a sweet book about Roxanne “Roxy” Bloom who has recently has divorced her husband and law partner and moved to a small Kentucky town that she spent her summers in visiting her aunt as a child. With her Aunt’s help she has opened up a coffee and tea shop called the Bean Hive. When Roxy finds a dead body of a neighboring store owner and her Aunt Maxi becomes a suspect Roxy is determine to use her training as a lawyer and the advantage of being a shop owner to clear her aunt’s name. In addition to the solving a murder mystery, Roxy adopts a cute little schnauzer and offers the use of her shop to the local animal shelter to help find forever homes for the sweet animals. She also becomes reacquainted with her former high school boyfriend. I really enjoyed getting to know Roxy and the cast of southern quirky characters. If you love mysteries with a touch of romance and animal rescue/pets this is a book for you.
The Case of the Screaming Beauty by Alison Golden is a quick enjoyable read. This book takes place in a small town in England. When the proprietors of a lovely bed and breakfast found out one of their guest have been murder in her bedroom they quickly call the police. Detective Inspector Graham reports for duty all the while trying to drown his own demons though throwing himself into his job. With Police Sergeant Harris and the Medical Examiner’s office helping out with the investigation DI Graham is able to find the murder weapon and the motive which lead to a surprising culprit. This is a lovely story with a few surprises along the way. If you like a British cozy in the style of Poirot you will enjoy this book.
This is a great collection of mysteries! I even discovered a few new authors, I can't wait to check out more of their books. Instead of reviewing every book in the collection (I really enjoyed them all), I thought I would share two of my favorites.
New Corpse in Town by Lucy Quinn: This is a fun, enjoyable read. I was so caught up in the story before I knew it I was finished. I There are plenty of fun and quirky characters that pepper the story with funny of funny moments. I found myself laughing out loud in a few places. The mystery is well plotted with plenty of suspects taht kept me guessing. I'm looking forward to reading more in this series!
Louisiana Longshot by Jana DeLeon: I loved this book! It's laugh out loud funny with great characters and a strong story. I can't wait to read more!
I received a copy of this collection from one of the authors, my review has been voluntarily submitted.
These sets are great ways to discover new authors and enjoy stories from your favorite ones. This one includes a great story by Lucy Quinn that will let you discover her Secret Seal Isle Mysteries series. I highly recommend it.
New Corpse in Town (Secret Seal Isle Mysteries #1) by Lucy Quinn
This is a fun read. I really enjoyed the characters and the story. Cookie is looking for peace and finds anything but that in her new life. Her mother is quite a character and Cookie finds herself interested in a local guy. When a body is found, it really complicates everything and brings in a man from he past. I enjoyed how Cookie handles the two men who are vying for her attention as well as balancing investigating the case. It is a great start to the series and I look forward to more stories featuring the characters.
There's variety in this boxed set; something for every cozy fan. Three of the authors I hadn't heard of before. The one that most appealed to me was the Tonya Kappes book with a coffeehouse setting and recipes. There were dogs, Pepper and Sassy. I liked the names because I was listening to a book with a character who had the nickname of Pepper and we also had a cat named Sassy. I also liked the Kentucky setting since I live nearby in Ohio.
The Alison Golden book was good, too. English setting with a Detective Inspector.
The Agatha Ball book also had a coffee setting, with a bookshop and a cat.
I do enjoy coffeehouse settings and cozies with animals. Great set for hours and hours of mystery reading with lots of different characters.
Lucy Quinn's New Corps in Town is a wonderful start to this boxed set and is a wonderful mystery that takes place on a beautiful Isle that you can't help but want to live there as well as interact with the main characters. It's Full of action, adventure, intrigue and had me laughing out loud. Loved the banter and chemistry between Cookie and her ex FBI partner Hunter, Cookie and the mysterious handy man, Dylan; Family drama and the loyalty between friends and family.
Enjoyed that the author surprised me with the twists and turns and so looking forward to the next book in the series. Enjoyed the follow up books to Secret Seal Isle
Cookie is on the run! She is former FBI but the Mob are after her so she assumes a new identity. She and her mother buy the Secret Seal Inn in Maine. But when a body turns up Cookie calls her former partner for help. This could be tricky as she was kind of in love with Hunter!!! But with the local handyman Dylan making all her girly parts sit up and take notice, the poor woman doesn't know where she is!
This story is very much a cosy with a side of romance. Lots of red herrings, twists and turns and you are never quite sure what is coming next! Cookies mum almost always steals the show - she is totally hilarious! I'm really looking forward to more!
Buy this now! This is an fabulous deal for seven great cozy mysteries. I enjoyed each of these full-length books and will be buying more books by several of these authors. I especially enjoyed the books by Jana Deleon, Alison Golden and Lucy Quinn. Louisiana Longshot by Jana Deleon is action packed humour that had me laughing out loud. The Case of the Screaming Beauty by Alison Golden is a true mystery along the lines of Agatha Christie with extraordinary descriptions that put you right into the story and New Corpse in Town by Lucy Quinn is a delightful combination of romance and mystery. Highly recommended.
I am not completely finished with this book because I have so many books I am in the process of reading. I have read a couple of the stories and am very impressed! I only read other books by two of the authors and already liked their work so was happy to have the opportunity to read more of their stories. I never read the other seven authors and am very pleased that I chose to read this book. I found some new authors that I want to follow! This was a great collection of works by these authors and made me really want more of them to read. I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest opinion.
An excellent selection of mysteries. I have only one complaint. The mystery by Tonya Kappes has one distraction. While reading the story she had recipes inserted in the chapters. I found they interrupted the flow of the story and took away from the mystery. I would have appreciated the recipes at the end of the story and not during the story and taking away from the mystery. I have a new author I an following , Jana DeLeon. Her mysteries were excellent and very humorous! I have read the entire Miss Fortune series. The other authors are one I currently read. I recommend this book as it is entertaining and very good.
I received a copy via Book Funnel. A very well written book you get 7 cozy mysteries by 7 different authors.I had a hard time choosing which one i wanted to read next. Each story is very well written with a unique cast of characters with a great mystery to solve . I enjoyed them all. But i do have a few favorites like the Case of the screaming beauty by Alison Golden, Murder at Honeysuckle Hotel Rose Pressey ,Scene of the Grind Tonya Kappes
This is a great boxed set with some amazing authors. Each book was great and had a wonderful story which kept me reading way past my bedtime. They all have well developed characters are all very entertaining. Each of the books were full of surprises and I didn’t want them to end. If you are looking for a great boxed set then you need to get this one. I am looking forward to reading the other books by each of these great authors.
What a Great Collection of 6 Great Cozies. A very fun read full of good suspenseful stories, laughs, and even some recipes. I wasn't disappointed with any of the stories and even found some new great Authors, who have more books that I'll love to read. I was given an advanced copy to read and review if I chose to do so. IO wasn't compensated in any way for this review.
I love a box of books. You get the favorite authors that you bought the set for and you get to sample new ones. Who knows if one of the new authors will become a new favorite! Even though I'd read 2 of these stories, I re-read them and got re-enthused and made a few new friends. You can't lose with the price and with the handy next book at your fingertips.
This was a good set.. i have read a couple of these authors and as always they are wonderful.. the stories were fun and sweet.. i enjoyed the mystery part f them all and it was a lot of fun to read. i am glad i got to review it

I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
This compilation contains New Corpse in Town by Lucy Quinn, which is a beginning of a fantastic series Secret Seal Isle Mysteries, and it is followed by Life in the Dead Lane and A Walk on the Dead Side, and coming soon Any Way You Bury It, and hopefully a few more.
This is a great collection of cozies. In fact it has gotten me started on several new ones that I'd never read before and now I'm definitely going to be reading more of them.
I had previously read about three of these stories and enjoyed them so I didn't reread them but I loved the rest just as much. An enjoyable collection of stories from some great authors. Well worth the read. You won't be disappointed.
I really enjoyed the compilation if stories in this set. Bravo to all the authors who contributed a who-dunit. The settings were wonderful and the characters were well-developed! I look forward to more great stories from these ladies!
