Rachel and Steven Masters are a young couple who find a beautiful estate with a gorgeous home in the countryside. But after moving in they find out that they are not the only residence of this house as Rachel keeps hearing whimpers of a man and their dog Russo refuses to step out of the house. While Rachel feels scared inside the house, Russo finds it terrifying to get out. And after a priest who comes to purify the house is severely injured by an inexplicable accident, Steven gets out doing his own research about the house.
The first story in this book started out great. There were a few grammatical errors and one place where a name was thrown in that made no sense at all but it seemed to be going well. Until the ending, or the non-ending. It just abruptly ended without really finishing. It needed to be fleshed out more. Then the second story starts up without a break or heading page. It looks just like you're starting another chapter and all new people are being thrown in. And once again the story could've been fleshed out a lot more. The bonus story was decent enough though. I gave it two stars and hope the author revisits all three stories and gives more details.
Not Dead, the bonus provided with this was scary, gruesome and wonderful. By itself, I'd rate it 5 stars. -- As for the Ghost stories, they read as if they had been written in a language other than English and then translated by a poor translation program. Stories were engrossing enough to make the reading worthwhile but I often cringed at some of the sentence construction.
