"A rollercoaster ride of twists, turns and suspense."
Jessica Parks, a soon-to-be-divorced mother of one, has a wildly romantic fling with a handsome stranger on a business trip. But things aren't exactly what they seem and she soon finds herself embroiled in a dangerous web of lies and deceit.
The authors did a good job of keeping the suspense start to finish. I finished the book in a day because I wanted to see how all the turns finished. Was it the best literary story I have ever read? No but it didn’t have to be because the story kept me hooked. Fun read, nice job!
This was not good. Not good at all. The main character made so many stupid, rash decisions and then magically figured it all out? There was a shockingly bad attempt at misdirection that a real author would have handled much better. Only read it because it was a quick read on kindle unlimited. Maybe I can get a self-published book on there. At least I would edit my book. And not have such a stupid protagonist.
My experience was different reading this book. Guess I’ve got a sixth sense but I predicted very early on in the book who it was. Too predictable…..I won’t read her again.
I cannot with this book! First of all, who blackmails someone for having consensual sex when they are separated and their husband was the one who cheated and ruined the relationship in the first place???? I understand there's a video and that's embarrassing but $100,000?!?! That's not even possible for most normal people like Jess. If someone told me I had to come up with $100,000 in cash, I would be lost. I wanted to DNF but it's a short book and I'm trying to meet my yearly goal so I pressed on. However after you just got off the hook for a blackmail of a video of you having sex, you are going to SMUGGLE DRUGS??? Like that isn't going to make you lose your son??? Make it make sense!!! I love a good book to movie but I don't see how this can even be a lifetime movie. Just infuriating, contradictory decisions. The only redeeming thing about the book was the twist at the end. I didn't see it coming and it was a nice surprise. I was so glad to finish this one.

Jessica Parks is in the midst of a custody battle with her soon to be ex husband. When she goes out of town for a business convention, she gives in to what she thinks is a simple moment of passion with a handsome stranger. The more you read, the more the book sucks you in. Heart-stopping suspense, great characters, and a mind-blowing ending you’ll have to read to believe!
I admit, I mostly read cozy mysterys... and after reading 14 cozies by this author, I did not expect that a traditional murder mystery would be so well done. I highly reccomend this book to anyone who likes Connelly, Patterson, Cornwell, Reichs, and other authors in this genre.
Wow I cruelly enjoyed this book.So many unexpected turns and plots. Every time I thought I had it figured out, not was I wrong. I couldn't put it down until I finished it, this was my first time reading one of Leigh Selfman books. Definitely will not be my last looking forward to my next. r
So confused because on my kindle it’s called The Lies We Tell, but when I completed the book it pulled up Two Faced? Either way this one was very 🥴. The beginning started off so strong but then the storyline went all over the place. It’s like the author kept getting distracted and wanted to throw twist after twist in.
Easy read. Not a lot of past history of characters which is a waste. Author stuck to the subject matter. Didn’t identify Zach’s body which wasn’t necessary. Good enjoyable read.
Plenty of twists and turns with an interesting plot. However, there are some mistakes in the book and a number of chapters end abruptly, lacking fluidity. Overall, an enjoyable quick read.
Quick read with an obvious outcome yet when it all came together it gave a great sense of satisfaction that all the lies added up to a great truth. That should be a warning to all liars.
This feels like a first book that followed a checklist for mystery book elements. While it had some twists and turns, many either felt forced or ludicrous. I was thankful that it wasn't a long book, which is a pretty good sign that I just wanted it to be over.
I liked it. Time to find another book by these authors. Fast pace reading- you sort of figure out thinks but that makes it interesting- Then wow another twist!
This psychological thriller was a really fast and suspenseful read, taking you on paths you don't expect with all kinds of twists and turns. The only reason I removed 2 stars was for the horrendous editing. It was obvious it was self-published without an editor's input. There were periods missing at the end of sentences, inconsistency in names within the same chapter, missing conjunctions, etc. For an editor, this was extremely distracting, but it didn't stop me from finishing it because I really enjoyed the story. I would recommend it since many people won't even notice the errors (as evidenced by the majority of Amazon reviews).
