A month has passed since a deadly virus swept the country killing millions and leaving chaos in its wake.
Dale Hardy has managed to weather the storm by hunkering down on his homestead in Arizona. He grows his own crops, generates his own power and draws fresh water from his own deep aquifer.
But when a nearby town's water supply dwindles in the searing Arizona heat, Dale's peaceful existence is threatened.
The new mayor and sheriff want every last drop for themselves and they're willing to do whatever it takes to get it.
With a crooked local government conspiring against him, Dale will need to stand in defiance or risk losing everything.
Includes all three books in The Defending Home Series. Book One: Defiance, Book Two: A House Divided and Book Three: Judgment Day.
This was a really good book. I like seeing the changes in detail as he goes through his journey. I also liked Walter. He was a good soul. I hated to see what happened to him in the end. Walter reminds me of my granddad who is also a war veteran and a natural born leader. I think, should America go through hard times like these, it is people like Walter who will see us through. However, there will be many people like Randy. Perhaps there will be character changes in the Randy’s of the world because unfortunately there will be many gangs and cartels should there be hard times in our country such as there were in this book.
I've truly enjoyed everything I've read written by William H. Weber. Many books and documentaries I've read and watched recently, lend me to believe we are surely reaching or even entering the 'End Days". I hope, as a country, we have the kind of leadership we see in the character of Dale Hardy, and come together as a people as we did during the early days of 911, as we reach those upcoming times . You are a wonderful author, Mr. Weber! Please 'Keep on Writing'!!!
Bought audiobook from Audible (3 book series). Pandemic survival set in small town southern Arizona (stand in for Sierra Vista?). Read like an old Western, set in modern times. Cowboys and (insert generic bad guy stereotype of your choice) fighting over water rights. Wooden characters, lots of running around. The after-pandemic math does not compute.
Good storylines , well written , flows good. Entertaining.not as detailed or researched as a Clancy or Dale Brown, but still a good read!!
Well written, consistent story line. Educates as well as entertains, has good prepper tips woven in without taking away from the story. Not a Clancy or Dale Brown, but still very well written.
Defending your home against a new hostile world. One man with one family stand against all odds to protect his family and what he thought was important. Not only to fight to survive evil but to learn an important lesson. There are more important things than a building and dirt. Read this series to see how this family grows and survives.
Knocked another home run. Although much the same plot as the 1st series, he takes a different approach. And also supplied us with lifelike characters. Highly recommend this series.
Definitely a page burner from start to finish. Realistic in that this could happen at any time anywhere. I could bring people to their knees and it take courage and determination to let come a situation so h as thiz.
