Heath was a self-made billionaire who had been burned by his ex-wife/gold digger and was determined not to fall for those types of tricks again. Very close to his parents, he figured the love they shared wasn’t in the cards for him. Kat had never really had a family and was trying to make ends meet while helping out the only family she’s ever known. When Heath wanted to make his dying father’s wish come true (a grandchild), he couldn’t think of anyone he’d rather make a baby with then his sexy and increasingly irresistible personal assistant, Kat. And as Kat had always dreamed of being a successful romance author, Heath’s offer was one she found she couldn’t refuse.
I’ve never read anything by Nikki Chase before and was pleasantly surprised by how well-written this story was. The characters, although not incredibly realistic, were very easy to like. And those sex scenes were scorching! I got this book through Kindle Unlimited and it included tons of bonus content. There were previews for a couple of the author’s other books, which I’ll be reading, and she even gave us another story, Single Dad’s Fake Bride, which was also well-written and enjoyable. So that’s two books for the cost of one by a new author that served as a fine introduction to her work.
I liked this story it was great and the sex scenes were smoking hot. This is the first book I’ve read by this Author , but I enjoyed it so much. I’d say I’ve found myself another great Author.
The book had a nice story line, that kept me wanting more and great sex what more could one want lol?
I give this book 4 1/2 stars! I enjoyed reading Heath and Kat's story. We meet Heath he is sexy, confident, powerful and the CEO of his own company... he has has some issues in his past such as his ex-wife who wants to take all she can from him....some playboy issues as well. Kat is his assistant by day and a want to be romance novelist by night. She wants to do what it takes to make her dream of being a writer come true! Kat has a step mother that is a piece of work...to find out what I mean you will have to read the story. Heath's father is not well and he decides that he wants to have a child so his father's dream of having grandchildren will come true! He works out a contract with Kat to make that happen. Throughout this book there are sparks between these two and well lets just say things happen that complicate this! We have nosy reporters, a legal tech that causes trouble for Heath...so the story goes! I loved how developed all the characters are in this story along with how the story just flows. I started it and did not want to stop reading it until I finished the book. I want to thank Nikki Chase for giving me to opportunity to read this book in advance of it's release.
I'm only a couple of pages in and already this is making me angry. "I'd hoped, of course, that her smoking hot body was not wasted on a frigid prude". What the actual f@*k?! Wow, I'm already thinking that this will be a DNF. It really makes me upset when women writers seem to feel they must perpetuate the thinking of sexist, ignorant males. This had better get MUCH better very quickly.
Okay, finished now and I never warmed to this book. The whole concept of them getting together with the contract as the starting point is just so screwed up. For a start, the details of the contract itself make me not like either of the main characters. He comes across as a power hungry narcissist who wants what he wants without any thought for the repercussions or how it affects anyone but himself. She comes across as immature and focussed only on her own wants, never mind giving such a life changing decision any deeper thought, or understanding that she would be doing to her own child what her parents did to her.
The wrongness of all of that lays the groundwork for how this book makes me feel. The characters are shallow, selfish and there are no redeeming features. There's no depth to the story or the characters and I couldn't relate to them at all.
I have to admit that this book had me laugh in a few places and awwweeee in others. The agreement you would think would be simple right? Well lets face it this author doesn't right simple in any way. She brings you into the book or should I say sucks you in and doesn't let go till the very last scream is yelled.
Knocked Up has a great, really funny opening scene and I was hoping for more of the same throughout, which didn't happen. The premise of the story gave me pause at the start because it seemed so cold-hearted of the FMC to think she could just have a baby and walk away, especially after the connection that would develop during the months of breast feeding after the birth. Her only concern seemed to be writing her book and getting it published. I wasn't sure if she really was that cold or just naive. Maybe a more in depth explanation of her background with the stepmother, father and mother would have explained why she thought she would be capable of fulfilling the contract. Still, the story is sexy and entertaining, and even though I thought it was not quite up to Nikki's usual standards, I did find it enjoyable. I liked Heath and Kat and the relationship that developed between them. The ending was really nice. All in all, this book is a good read.

arc review for honest review . kat and heath go into a agreement to a baby ,but both have pasts. this was a great story of love and learning of each other.
It was OK. This is the first book by this author for me. It was a cute, very quick read. The premise of the story was intriguing. Heath wants to give his dying father the one thing he’s always wanted, a grandchild. Kat has been trying for years to get her novel published, in hopes it will reunite her with her father. So they make a deal, he gets a child, she gets hooked up with one of his publisher friends. Plus plenty of cash so she can devote more time to writing. Contracts are signed, check your feelings at the door. I had a hard time connecting to these characters. Heath was over the top smug and arrogant. Kat was very young, and just seemed clueless most of the time. I was really hoping this was a full length novel (like it was described), but it ended at about 37% on my kindle. Being so short, it felt like large parts of the story were missing. One minute she’s telling him she’s pregnant, the next scene she’s complaining about being big as a house and waddling. The story just jumped all over the place. There was a hint of some potential drama, but it just kinda disappeared. The story needed a little something else. Was it a bad story? No. Will I read it again? Probably not. One third of this book was Knocked Up; one third was a second short story, Single Dad’s Fake Bride; the last third was a six chapter preview of another book, The Five Brothers Next Door. The first was ok, the others, not really my style.
I received an ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.
I know I have said this before about Nikki Chase but it is true so I will say it again: She becomes a better writer with every book!!! Her first book had many grammar mistakes and the plot was a little slow and tame. But this book! Wow! I found very few grammar mistakes and most of them are not true mistakes, just my preference which I can't expect every writer to write the way I prefer to write. And the plots of Nikki's books get more daring and fun and hot with every book she writes.
I often kinda shy away from the "let's make a baby" contract books, but I really enjoyed this one. I think I enjoyed this one so much because the book didn't focus on the contract rules for very long; the main characters fell in love pretty quickly and then the contract flew out the window. I wish there had been more drama revolving around Vera and Melanie because their charcters kinda felt like they were stuck in the book at the last minut to try to up the drama of Heath and Kat's lives, but other than that I have no complaints about this book.
I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance books with hot alpha males and strong, self-reliant females.
Knocked Up by Nikki Chase was a fantastic read! Katherine York is an aspiring romance author who works as a personal assistant to Heath Anders. Heath is the golden child of Wall Street and the CEO of his investment firm. After coming in early one day to work on her manuscript Kat accidentally leaves it behind and walks in later that morning to find Heath reading it. Heath has always been attracted to Kat but refused to act on it but something about the male lead in her story seems familiar. After reading her manuscript Heath begins to see his fiery and driven personal assistant in a new light. When Heath gets the news that his father's health is deteriorating he sets about to make his father's dream of being a grandfather come true. The only person who comes to mind to help him is Kat. The chemistry between Kat and Heath is scorching! With a contract in place what could possibly go wrong? Can Kat and Heath keep their feelings at bay or is this one contract that was meant to be broken? I definitely recommend you pick up Knocked Up to find out how their story ends! Another great read by Nikki Chase about a billionaire, Heath, and his assistant, Kat, who he manages to convince in becoming his surrogate for a baby. Kat has had a crush on Heath since she started working for him and has even wrote some of her manuscript based on him so when he offers her a deal she can't refuse, she accepts. But along the way their contract seems to blur the lines and real feelings develop until the point of neither of them wanting the contract and going with the flow of their relationship. Unfortunately there are some people out to hurt them and until they set the record straight, they could lose everything. Wil they make it? A great read with steamy scenes and I enjoyed the fact that Heath wasn't a playboy anymore, he was mature and was able to keep it in his pants and not use women and Kat was independent and strong and did her best to separate her feelings. I also loved the way Heath was with his parents and wasn't conceited by flaunting his wealth and only wanted what was best for them. The two were a great couple and the ending was perfect for these two. *I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book*
Now this is a book that i did enjoy. It had me entertained from the beginning to end. The humor was really refreshing, when compared to the only other by i can think off of my head that i read from this author. Was about to check this one in even before i give it a ride. It was however good short read that allowed me to pass the time.
Now to the book we have: Silly Kat forgetting her flash drive in boss's computer (Filled with naughty things. She wants to be a writer and lust after her boss, what you think on this drive.); Investment banker Heath (that says a lot all on it's own); Dying dad and pain in the ass step-mom. (Lord Kat needed a bit of a West Indian mentality); Baby by contract, (wait what???) Way too informed best friend (Then again is there really such a thing.); Creepy lawyer; Mass media loves a scandal.
Anyhow that is pretty much the book in a nut shell. I can say more without spelling out the story. However, lets be real with just that alone you can tell the way this story goes considering that it has a happy ending.
Loved Heath and Kat. A sweet and steamy office romance. Older man and younger women. Heath is a 28 year old billionaire, who owns his own investment firm. Kat is a 22 year old aspiring romance author and Heath's personal assistant. While they are attracted to each other, Heath has a personal no fraternizing with his employees policy. Which just got harder when he reads her manuscript, and the main characters seem very familiar. A family crisis has Heath rethinking his policy. Wanting children and to give his ailing father a grandchild, but not the drama of a wife, he can think of no better baby mama than Kat. He can help her with the steamy sex scenes and give her more time to wright and he gets heir. With a contract clearly defining their relationship, what could go wrong. Loved Heath, a powerful and respected businessman, a humble and kind son, and fun and protective lover. Kat is a strong and smart women, who knows what she wants. A fun and steamy light read.
Heath wants to give his father the one thing that will give him some peace before the inevitable, a grandchild. However, after his disastrous and costly marriage, he has no interest in a relationship. He needs to have someone be a surrogate, a woman trustworthy, smart- and understands the extensive set of rules that will be in place. The only women that comes to mind is his fiery, driven, stubborn, romance writing, organized to a tee, with a sexy side P.A Kat. Once he makes her an offer she cannot refuse, she is putty in his hands.. or is it the other way around? What starts out as a business contract for a baby, ends up a messy emotional explosion! I really got into this unexpected hot fast moving read! This hit me with the feels tale, had blasts of heat and a sweet budding romance I loved watching unfold! Witty banter, dramatic scenes- these characters and their chemistry had me swiping pages as fast as my eyes could read! A book I would recommend checking out!

Katherine, Kat, is Heath's administrative assistant. They both find each other attractive but Heath doesn't believe in dating people he works with. He doesn't trust women after the woman he loved and married was only after his money. Now divorced, he doesn't want to fall in love or get married ever again. When he learns his father is dying and has always wanted to be a grandpa, Heath wants to give him that. So he proposes a new job to Kat, one that gets her pregnant. Kat takes the deal and it's not as smooth sailing as they think. The only thing missing in this book is there is a mention of Heath's ex-wife and Kat's stepmother in the beginning but the storyline with these aren't explored. Both are mentioned briefly in the end but I'm surprised there wasn't more of a storyline with these two women. Despite this, this was a really good read!
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read.
Heath, owner of THE international hedge fund management company, wants to fulfil one of his terminally ill father’s dreams… to become a granddad. Kat is his PA and an up-and-coming author of romances. Her greatest dream, that one for that she would do anything to achieve it, is to find a publisher for her book.
When Heath approaches her with his offer to pay her a hefty sum and to introduce her to a publisher in exchange for her being the surrogate mother to his child it does not take long for her to accept his offer. It is supposed to be a business contract… but quite soon each of them have to admit to themselves that there might be involved some feelings, too…
I very much enjoyed reading this novel with all its emotional ups and downs!

This was a great story with romance and a connection between two that is unbelievable! I read this book in one sitting. You know based on the title that Katherine ends up pregnant but I must say the journey there is hot, sexy and worth the wait! Heath is a man who has everything a wealthy hot sexy alpha man could want except a family. When his father's illness turns for the worse he goes out and gets it. Katherine is his assistant and is caught using his computer while writing her manuscript and does Heath find what he is looking for? The way Heath treats Katherine from the start is beautiful like he treasures everything about her. I love how his goal is to protect her at all cost and it's wonderful to see how Katherine does what's needed to protect Heath when needed even though she does against his wishes. I voluntarily received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book Fact and Fiction. Two words that will mean a lot to budding romance author Kat. Fact that she has secret thoughts about her boss Heath but Fiction as it's all in her head thinking about him. There is another word though rearing its head....Reality. That's what Heath gives Kat when he decides to help her career in return for something extra..... a baby. Wow, how can she refuse. A brilliant story that starts off with two people helping each other out but they both get more than they bargained for. Their chemistry is off the charts but Kat realises she has to give Heath a dose of reality too. She is a woman who wants to be independent in work but loved as a woman in private. They are so suited to each other it was so good. Loved it all.
I sexy, naughty office romance ! Heath is a quintessential driven CEO, powerful, smart and knows what he wants. Kat is a sassy, intelligent assistant. She knew that taking this job was going to be a handful , Heath scares assistants away quicker than his HR would like! Kat is willing to do this job an do it well. She may not be in her dream job but she is working on it . Business by day romance author in the evening! Heath respects Kats ability and even though he finds her extremely attractive he would never compromise his business. He knows that she is too mild and meek for her own good. Heath's opinion quickly changes when Kat leaves her romance work in progress on his computer. Heath soon realizes that Kat may be able to fill a different position in his company and his life! Loved the journey with Heath and Kat ! ~~Michele McMullen ~~
I liked this story. I'm a sucker for relationships that start out as something the couple the couple plans and ends up being more than they realized it could be. Heath and Kat are just such a couple. He wants an heir to the business. She wants to pursue her writing career, something he's already had a bit of a taste of. As the contract progresses, they discover an attraction they didn't expect and neither of them wanted.
It's steamy with a humorous twist. Ms Chase's alphas generally have an abundance of money and are always trying to maintain control when her women enter the picture, but they always find themselves falling fast. Her women are sassy and go through a lot to get their way, but eventually they do. Too bad it's a work of fiction. If you're looking for a light read with a naughty side, this one is good for just that.
It was fine, the characters is okay, Heath is okay protective but he can come out as patronizing because he has insecurity, Kat's characters is fine she's strong and independent but for me there's not much about them that makes me get attached to them. The plot is good but i hope it's longer and has more depth, it just seem rushed i wish it tell more details when Kat's pregnant it just seem the transition is a bit wide, seeing Kat's just got pregnant in one chapter and in next chapter she's already 4 months along, i want to know how they're interaction or relationship grow in that period, and when they notice they love each other it was fast, it's possible with them working together for a while but.. but... Anyway i thought there's more story about them turn out it's only about 170-200 pages, while the rest is preview for her other books.
Knocked Up by Nikki Chase This is Heath Anders and Katherine "Kat" York.
Kat works for Heath. Due to circumstances in Heath's life he offers Kat a different position, carry his child. I had a problem with Kat when trying to make her decision. She was more worried about not being in Heath's life than her own child's life. As time went on their agreement began to change. I was able to relate better with the characters. In the end I may not agree exactly with the choices Heath and Kat made but I did enjoy their story.
FYI, contains mature and graphic content. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I LOVE the sweetness of the heroine Kat in this book. Nikki Chase did a great job with this story, writing this young woman as a smart, executive assistant with a romantic's heart. Kat wants to be a romance writer, but doesn't have the life experience or the connections. Enter her boss, former playboy, millionaire Heath Anders who has the connections and the hots his Kitty Kat. He always wants to give his dying father a grandchild, without the drama and heartbreak he went through in his failed marriage, so he offers Kat a contract that's beneficial to both of them. Let the games begin! This is a fun book. I enjoyed reading this ARC for an honest review!
I'm giving it four stars because I kind of wished there had been more development of her pregnancy and their relationship than was given. The author could have written a longer and better story, instead of putting bounds novels at the end.
However, I did enjoy this book! It was a good read. I adored how Kat wanted to to be a romance author. I love those type of books when the girls are authors, because it gives you insight into how your favorite authors write their books and what goes through their mind when they are writing it. So I give this book four stars!
P.S. - I did not read the bonus books so I have no idea if they are good or not, sorry.
"I wonder if she suspects that I've had those fantasies about her since she started working here last month."
Heath is the "golden child of wall street". He's been in lust with his new assistant since she started working for him. However, he never mixes business with pleasure. Until he finds her manuscript on his computer. Her racy, sexy manuscript.
"I've never told anyone but Heath makes my body thrum with a foreign thrill."
Kat is all businesslike at work and tries not to be affected by her sexy-as-sin new boss. He might be the inspiration for her fictional hero but nobody needs to know. Until she accidentally leaves her manuscript on his computer.
"There's only one rule: don't fall in love."
When Heath realise that it's within his power to give his father a longed-for grandchild, he presents Kat with an almost preposterous proposition, which she finds that she can't turn down. It seems to be a win-win situation for them both. However, what starts out as a business transaction quickly escalates into something more.
This wasn't a bad read. I liked the characters. I liked the chemistry and desire between them. I loved how much Heath grew to care about Kat and her well-being. The story was somewhat predictable but still enjoyable. The only thing that bothered me was that the story timeline needed more definition to make a smoother reading experience.
