Devil's Due MC #4

Day of Reckoning

Rate this book
Time served for a crime he didn't commit only provided many lessons learned. The domino effect of one person's crime going unpunished cuts deeply and leaves a mark that can never be covered.

He's no saint.

Jackson 'Rowdy' Presley did a dime, and he served his time silently. He could have brought down the real criminals, but instead he took the term and paid the price. Never having loyalty before the Devil's Due MC, he finally has the new beginning he desperately needs.

She's not afraid to call herself a sinner.
Peony Michele Forbes lives her life wherever the wind takes her. She walked away from her past to give herself a future with no restrictions. As much as she wants to forget who she is, others don't want to let her disappear so easily.

However, danger follows her everywhere she goes.
Will Jackson see beyond his jaded connection to Peony and find there is more to life than revenge? When backed to the wall, will Peony let herself trust Jackson to be the one to save her?

Love, hate, anger, and passion collide as the time comes, and the devil demands his due.

Each book in the Devil's Due MC is a stand alone,  second chance romance. Contains adult content, language, and violence not suitable for readers under the age of 18. This is not an exact depiction of life in a motorcycle club, but rather a work of fiction meant to entertain. (Paperback page count is 302 in a 5x8 sizing)

Rowdy and Michele have a difficult past. High school sweethearts who married and then had their lives turned upside down are about as far apart as can be at the start of this book. Rowdy believes Michele is dead and is wandering aimlessly with the Devil's Due MC. He owes Judge his exoneration after being cleared of killing Michele's brother. Michele was kind of whiny and not very good at taking care of any of the situations she found herself in. She allowed the men in her life to protect her and didn't bother to see what was going on around her. She was easily manipulated and, years later, finds herself in even more trouble than before. Rowdy gets word that she is still alive and in trouble and immediately seeks to find her and get her out of trouble. The Devil's Due MC help and they find that the drug cartel she works for is not an easy enemy to get rid of. Michele doesn't know which end is up again and it got old for me. When the truth is revealed to Michele she is left wondering how she could have gotten things so wrong. I did like how Rowdy stepped up and did what he felt needed to be done. Michele did have to come to grips with a new reality pretty fast and did well with the changes. I liked how Rowdy was willing to put it all on the line for her. A nice addition to this series.

Day of Reckoning was the fourth book in the Devil’s Due MC series by Chelsea Camaron. I accidentally read this one and the next one out of order, but each can be read as a standalone without missing anything.

The Devil's Due MC was created by a small group of men with troubled pasts that were looking to right wrongs that hadn’t been resolved through normal legal channels. They were nomads staying no one place for long but roam where the next lead took them.

Jackson Joseph Presley aka Rowdy served time for a crime he didn’t commit, the murder of his brother-in-law. He was exonerated after he served but not before losing his wife.

Michelle Forbes married her childhood sweetheart at eighteen. In a troubled upbringing, Jackson was her light and her love...until he was convicted of murder. She faked her death and disappeared while he was in jail.

Day of Reckoning was a dark theme centering around a drug cartel and the debt owed to them. But amidst the dark, there was a sweetness lurking through the second chance love between Rowdy and Michelle.

It was told with a dual POV and was a quick and entertaining read. True to form for the series, our favorite Nomads and their women were front and center in the storyline, providing additional depth and “feels” to the plot. I loved the family bonds between the group and can never get enough.

Next in the series is Paid in Full, Deacon’s story, which I’ve already read (4 Stars), so I finally get the last Nomad, Trapper, in Bottom Line. Trapper is one crazy dude so I can’t wait to see where Camaron leads us.

*ARC*

I’m sort of torn with my feelings for Day Of Reckoning. I like this series overall and love the second chance aspect it has but I am not sure if in this case it was really working. I had issues with Michele throughout the book, not that I didn’t like her but there was just something that didn’t really work. Maybe it’s the mess she got herself into, the lack of faith in Jackson aka Rowdy, but it was something. Rowdy I almost felt was too forgiving so quickly, but then again love is a powerful thing that will have people forgive when others wouldn’t. I think I just wanted more if that makes sense, but what ever the case may be Day Of Reckoning was another enjoyable read from Ms. Camaron and I am looking forward to reading more in the future.

I Voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book

I loved this Series, I mean what's not to like. Six hot sexy Nomad bikers, all wrongfully accused of crimes, out to find justice, what's not to like

This story is about Rowdy and Michele. High school sweethearts who was ready for their happily ever after, however torn apart by lies and Rowdy going to jail and Michele presumably dead, or so he thought.

Now he's out of jail trying to find justice for himself and his brothers and he gets word that she is still alive and in trouble, and what does he do... Obviously goes to save his women.

I loved this book, Rowdy, hot sexy alpha male biker protecting and saving his women. Michele I didn't like that much, thought she could be a bit more badass, or have a bit more backbone, but eventually she did get there.
Definitely a favorite, and can't wait to read the next one in this series.

4. stars

Ok so stay with me on this one. Rowdy and Michele have a past that is filled with a lot of deception and a definite someone screwed someone over. They were high school sweethearts who thought everything had fallen in to place but then life took a shit turn and everything changed. Torn apart by lies the two are now living lies. Rowdy has done time for a crime he didn't commit and Michele is dead ... or so he thinks.

Rowdy finds that his past isn't buried in the ground. In fact he just found the woman he loved in more trouble than when he went to prison. Running to find her and save her proves he still loves the woman but getting her to trust him and getting to her in time is another ballgame all together. She picked the worst people to manipulate her -- the cartel is not to be messed with and his woman just walked into the snake pit.

This was a very good read. I really loved these two characters with the exception of a few incidences with Michele. She needed to have more of a backbone at times and realize what the heck was going on around her. However she did redeemed herself by growing some balls and getting back in the game. I felt sorry but angry with her that she was so dumb! HA!

Thank you for the ARC and chance to read. Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets!

What is it about MC books that make me look like a college girl with a crush?? Seriously... I've read my far share of these books and I can't get enough of them.
Chelsea Cameron is my girl because she nails writing MC Books and I want to hit myself for only now knowing her work. Jeez I'm really an idiot...
Her writing is hot, raw, intense and amazing.
Day of Reckoning is the fourth book from the Devil's Due MC series and Jesus... What a book.
This book tells Jackson and Michelle's stories and get ready for them.
Jackson or Rowdy served his time in jail for a crime he didn't commit. He could have saved himself by turning the real criminals in but he preferred to shut up and get it done. His childhood was brutal, being neglected by his mom but he graduated from high school and then he would be happy with the love of his life but... Now he seeks justice for unsolved crimes and tries to live his life.
Peony "Michelle" has a past marked by sadness and hurt so she decided to get away in order to find her happiness. But it's not easy to do that when there are people that can't let her go.
She had lost the love of her life and her brother on the sane day and that is still killing her.
She busy herself with her art and that can make her forget for short periods of time but it's not enough.
Dayum woman what a book this was. I'm in love with these two and I want more.
The plot is magnificent and the interaction between the characters is beautiful, raw and bumpy as well. The story was well written and every page will bring you a new piece of information that will hook you up.
I loved the ups and downs, the runs and the scary parts as well. Jeez... What a premier this was. Now I really want to read the other three books. And I can't wait for what's about to come... Oh boy...
Oh boy Chelsea what have you done.... Now I can't sleep thinking about the other 3 books that I need to read asap.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I received this ARC for a completely honest review and I will start by saying that this is the first time I
have ever ready anything from this author and it probably won't be the last.

I am really big in MC books, I am not sure what it is about them that draws me in, but when I was offered this
Arc, I jumped at the chance and I'm glad I did.

I do like seeing the different takes on MC life and this author's is different than any other ones I have read
about. Instead of some overly large club with lots of members or prospects, this club only has (from what I
understood) 6 guys. 6 guys who have decided to take justice in their own hands after they have each been failed
by the justice system in one way or another. I kind of like the idea of a smaller club because it makes it
seem more like a family, at least in my eyes.

This was also the first "Second Chance" book that I have read and I am still a little unsure of how I feel about
them. The storyline was very interesting and action packed from page one. It was also a very, very quick read.
The story progresses really fast and I actually went back to see if I missed something. But it was just the
author's writing style and once I realized that, everything was fine.

This book can be read as a standalone, though I am sure some of the other couples from previous books, made an
appearance, but that didn't affect the story much. It was definitely a good read and I will be on the look out
for more from this author.

4 out of 5 stars.

I'm such a huge major fan of Chelsea Camaron every book in the devils due series just keeps getting better and better and once I saw that Rowdy's story was next could not wait to get my hand on it . We we find out the history between Rowdy and Michele felt really bad for them and when the hero finds out what really happen adored the fact that he didn't hold a lot of anger but let it go so they could move on and be happy make up for lost time . Michele is incredibly talented and had alot of likable aspects Rowdy really drew me in liked him for a hero since the beginning always wondered about the tattoo that he had and my heart went out to him with the pain he suffered . Loved the fact that the author but in bits and pieces of their past and mile stones . Can't wait for the next book been waiting for this one for so long .

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, surprises, secrets, suspense, and heartbreak.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading them first:
In The Red (Devil's Due MC, #1)
Below The Line (Devil's Due MC #2)
Close the Tab (Devil's Due MC #3)

This is Peony and Jackson 'Rowdy' Presley’s story. Rowdy did time for a crime he didn’t commit. He never opened his mouth about knowing who the real criminals were. Now that he is out he finally has the new beginning he needs. With his brother’s in the MC he has family. Peony walked away from her past and lives where and how she wants. But is her life about to change course? The passion, hate, and anger that is between Peony and Jackson should keep them apart but when the passion is just too strong can they really stay away? What happens when her past comes for her? Will he leave her to protect herself or will he step up and claim the one he wants? Will he be able to keep her for himself in the end or will she be gone forever?

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book.

Another great installment to this series. I absolutely loved Rowdy!!! Chelsea did such a great job with this character. With everything he has dealt with and believed he did such a great job with dealing with it all. I really don't think I could've come out of it all and be as calm and forgiving as he was. He truly loves Michele with all his heart and would do anything for her. I loved how this book was about forgiveness, learning from our mistakes, how true love can help us overcome so much. It was just a beautiful story but with all that beauty does come some darkness. This book had the perfect amount of everything and I think it is my favorite so far in this series.

I highly recommend this book. Although it can be read as a standalone getting all their stories will be truly enjoyable. I can't wait for Deacon's story and I am on pins and needles waiting for Trapper's story.

So this was my first book by Chelsea Camaron, I can tell you know it won't be the last! Day of reckoning is book number in the Devil' due MC series but I don't think it mattered to have started on 4 at all, I will definitely go back and read numbers 1,2 and 3 now.

I'm such a sucker for an MC romance... I love the bad boys who can love hard and Fowdt was certainly not a disappointment! Loved him!! Michele was a wonderfully fresh character for me, not the typical innocent girl you usually find in MC romances. I thought they were a fab couple and I really believed in them. They're an already established couple going through some issues, can they resolve them?

This book was a real page turner, I loved the twists and the feels and it really played on my emotions, I did have a few tears at one point!
I have given it 4 stars!

Another Amazing book from Chelsea! From the start to the ending I simply couldn't put this book down. From the twist, turns and surprises that Chelsea gives us, you will be turning the pages faster and faster to see what happens.

This was my first book in The Devils Due Series but will not be my last. I fell in love with not only the main characters but also the secondary characters. So now I need to go back and read their stories. The emotions in this book is like being on a roller-coaster. You will fell everything Jackson And Michelle have went through.

Jackson spends 8 years in prison. He done his time and now is wanting revenge. The only family he has is the Devils Due. Michelle is running from her past and her past is coming back with vengeance. When Jackson learns the truth, will he help Michelle and Can Michelle trust Jackson?

A true second chance love story that will have you begging for more.

The author is looking for an honest review.

4 stars

I would say this was one of the books that was straight to the point. It only takes a few hours to get through, but there is no extra drama, it was full of it, but nothing excessive, no beat around the bush storylines. It was just a plain good book that cut to the chase. Told you exactly what was what and you didn't have to read into anything in the book. This is Rowdy and Michele's story and it is one you don't want to miss out on. Rowdy is this man that honors the vows he took. Only when he took those vows he meant them for his and her whole family. When his brother in law winds up dead and he is the prime suspect, he never tells a soul what he knows about his brother in law. The problem is that is what put him in jail and he lost his wife in the process. I want to tell you that Rowdy was completely innocent in this, but no he wasn't. He made his choices and his choices cost him his wife. Michele had to choose who to believe. Her husband, or the court system that convicted him. She chose wrong, in the process lost the one thing that will always be hers, Rowdy. After all this time decisions had been made and may have costed more than anyone knows.

Rowdy, I have so much to say about him. He may not be perfect, but he lives by what he believes in. When he got out of jail, he chose to do things to, repay the people that had hurt him, in the process he is still mourning his dead wife. The wife that he didn't even get to bury because he couldn't get out of jail. So him and his mc make life altering decisions for the bad the cops are not helping to get rid of. What comes to a blow when Rowdy is back in his hometown is that Collector has gotten information that Michele is not dead. That she is alive and in trouble. Rowdy doesn't know what to do with this, but he knows if she is alive, he is going to make her his again. Michele had to fake her death because she had a debt that had to be repaid. A debt that her brother was caught up in. Michele is in deep and doesn't know if she can get out of it. All I can say is if Rowdy can find her, Rowdy will never let her go. What happens when Michele finds out the whole truth. What will she be able to do with the information?

Now I told you there was no added secrets, lies, deception, nothing of that sort, but this story is to the point. It give you the rundown and what happens when decisions are sometimes out of your control, because lies were told before hand. I have to say I loved seeing the gang back in this book. They are such a great brotherhood, that I missed reading about them. So getting this book made it that much better. Trapper seemed more off in this book than before. Meaner maybe, but I think his book is going to be explosive when we get to it. Another great book from this author, she is becoming one of my favorites more and more.

Jackson “Rowdy” Presley shows how you can be happy one minute and the next it can all be taken away. Michele “Peony” Forbes shows what can tear a family apart. This is one story about an MC where looks can be deceiving. It also shows how sometimes we make bad decisions that we don’t realize that they are at the time.

There are times when you read a book where you can identify with one of the characters. In this case I can relate to Jackson’s idea of living outside a big city. The air smells different. The evenings can be spectacular. Your surrounds are totally different. In my case I grew up with a farm at the end of my street. If you asked any of my newer neighbors they wouldn’t even know it – shows how much my town has changed in fifty years.

This is a great second chance at love – very romantic. You’re probably thinking that I’m crazy. There’s no way that an MC read can be romantic. There are certain things happening here that you know that Jackson belongs to an MC but otherwise it’s not the important part of this story. This is about a tragedy that tears our main characters apart but it’s also what brought them back together again – and how is that not romantic. I loved that we get to see the POV of both our characters. This way we can tell exactly how the other one feels.

Forgiveness and letting go of the past are also a part of what this story is about. The only thing that truly matters is the present and the future. Loved the ending because I found it to be happy but no way did I feel that there was a definitive ending. Was waiting for it to continue. If you go past that ending you will see that the author gives her readers a very sad taste of an upcoming book. But having seen him in this book had me wanting to know that he’s able to get past that terrible point in his life. I’m so glad that I had a chance to read this book and find a new author to follow.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

Jackson “Rowdy” Presley loved his wife. She was the light in his darkness and she everything made sense with her. But betrayal is a heavy weight that can destroy everything, and Rowdy was destroyed in the worst way possible. Imprisoned for a crime he didn’t commit, killing his wife’s brother, Rowdy hit rock bottom. Then the unthinkable occurred, and he lost his wife. His light didn’t leave, it was snuffed out of existence. He had nothing until the Devil’s Due fought for his freedom. Now he serves vengeance and justice for those who cannot obtain it themselves.

But the past is not as dead as Rowdy thinks, and his wife is very much alive. Peony Michele Forbes knows that she made a mistake, but there is no turning back for her. She trusted someone and the lies that were being spread and now she is in hell. She thought faking her death would give her freedom, but it has now become her prison. It seems that her husband did not kill her brother and the person that she trusted in the hell that her past became was the person that she thought he was. Now she is in deeper than she thought and there doesn’t seem to be a way out.

Enter the Devil’s Due. These men will battle and destroy anyone that gets in their way, and Rowdy is definitely on the warpath and damn is that man hot! Rowdy is a complete and utter alpha male and deliciously dominant, but I could clearly read the love he has for his wife. I am torn about Michele, but I can somewhat understand where she was coming from. Lies submerged her into a bad place and that forced her into an even worst one since she trusted someone that used her. But she was willing to sacrifice herself for her husband, so she did redeem herself in my eyes. Overall, another awesome installment to this great series.

Day of Reckoning is the fourth book in the Devil’s Due MC Series and it’s one of my favorite types of books to read. It’s hot bikers in a motorcycle club but also a second chance romance. This book is about Rowdy and Peony and how they got another chance at love. Chelsea never lets me down with hot biker books!

Rowdy and Peony had the perfect life. They were young and in love and looking forward to a future together, until Rowdy gets convicted of a crime he didn’t commit. He soon finds out Peony is dead, but is she really? When he finds out she may be alive, he will stop at nothing to find her. That’s one thing I love about him because he didn’t stop until he did.

After Peony’s life is changed with Rowdy going to prison, she has no choice but to fake her death and run away. Little does she know that her life is in more danger now than ever. Finding herself deeper and deeper in danger, she comes face-to-face with Rowdy after all those years apart.

From the moment they meet again, those feelings resurface and it’s like the past never happened because they know they belong together and sparks fly from that first moment. I love how after all that time you can feel their connection and know their love never died. As danger gets closer and closer, Rowdy defends his woman in every way and I loved him! He’s tough, sexy as hell, and loves with all his heart.

As with each book, we get the previous characters with a touch of what the future characters’ books will be about. I love that because once I get a taste of the next book, I stalk Chelsea’s page to see when the next one is coming out! Chelsea’s characters are down to earth and make you feel like you’re a part of their life. This series keeps getting better and better and I cannot wait for Deacon’s book because he definitely needs his HEA!

We meet up with the Devil's Due MC as they are making their way through each town to bring justice to those wrongly accused. Nobody has been more wrongly accused than Rowdy. Jackson Presley has had the gavel come down on him and retribution needed. We found out about his past throughout the story. I really liked how this flowed as we read. You didn't get it all from his POV, but learned about him from Michele's POV as well. He had a lot to overcome with retribution, forgiveness and the future. I don't know that I can put into words how grounded Rowdy was. Chelsea wrote this pillar of strength in him that rivaled Collector IMO. He is a calm on a stormy day. I was in awe of this character. The pull you felt as you read with his connection to Michele was unlike any other. You knew he would go to H*** and back just for her.
Michele came across as very naïve with her narrow view of all the events. You could see the young girl and how impressionable she was. While there was a strength in her, she could be easily broken. Her personality written for this story fit, but she was not my favorite female of this MC series. I think the biggest lesson learned is we all make mistakes and they can either destroy us, or make us stronger. Michele turned hers around and made herself stronger in the long run.
Overall this was a great addition to the series. I was on the edge of my seat with the drama that unfolded. It played out like a beautiful symphony bringing together the family that made sure the devil got his due. Chelsea really wove together this plot and made it explode with tension, love, understanding, suspense, and so many more adjectives.
I really enjoy that we saw how all the brother's and their ladies play out as the story evolves. You can read this as a standalone and not be lost at all with the past. In addition Trapper is KILLING me! I don't know where Chelsea plans to take him, but I have a feeling it is going to be the pièce de résistance to this whole series.

Day of Reckoning (Devils Due MC # 4)
By: Chelsea Camaron

This book is number four in the Devils Due MC Romance series. This one by far was my favorite. I loved this book from page one. Each one of these books can be read as a standalone. I personally do not understand why anyone would not want to read them all.

Jackson Presley (Rowdy) was sent to prison for a crime that he did not commit. This story made me cry because of the way he was sent away. He could not convince anyone that he did not do it. Not even the love of his life. He is tough though and he mans up and makes it through it. He joins the Devils Due because in his eyes his life is over. He joins them and he helps to make things right for people who have been wronged.

Michelle has her life in so much turmoil she may never get out. Her husband went to prison for killing her brother. She makes a deal with the crooks to keep her mother safe. Before you know it she is in so much trouble. How will she ever get out of it?

This story is extremely well written so much so that you could really see this happening. You will cry, and laugh and just not believe the crap that Michelle has gotten herself into. When Rowdy finds out from one of his brothers that his wife who he thought was dead is alive. He wants to run to her as fast as he can.

I love second chance romance books and that is what this one is. Will Michelle and Jackson be able to work it out? Can they make up for the past all that has happened? All I can say is read this book and see for yourself what a wonderful story this is.

I want to thank Chelsea Camaron for the wonderful story and I look forward to the next one.

Another fun read in a continuing series.I have to say that I really love this series and there characters.

In this story two high school lovers married and became estranged after her husband was convicted of her brothers murder. Injustice served as well as vengeance.

I always pick a favorite character in a story and this time around believe it or not its not a main character but Trapper.

I have to say if it wasn't for Trapper and his boldness and antics this story would have been just an okay read but he added the spice to the book that it needed.

I love all the MC members and especially their women who where along for the ride this time around and involved with the extraction plan.I love that this is not your typical MC club the men worship and protect their women but, also involved them or at-least apprise them of there dealings. This MC is about righting the wrongs of their MC members .Its about redemption for the parties involved. They are nomads although they do have a home base.

I cute story about second chances.I loved Rowdy in the previous books so I was glad he was able to get is happily ever after.I will say that it was easy to connect with the characters as I found them like-able as well as love-able. I love how the other brothers interacted with the story as well.

Although I enjoyed the story I felt that it was a bit rushed. Also with all the history and the pain and suffering that these two main characters went through I thought their should have been a little bit more tension between the characters to work out instead of automatic forgiveness.

Regardless of time love still stood the test of time.As always loved story and its characters and looking forward to the next in its series.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Another great read from my Sister Wife. One of the things that I abso love about her books…the alpha man who will do anything for his love. I love the theme of family and the fact that no matter how messed up they are *cough cough* Trapper, the family will be there. Granted they will throat punch you when needed but they will stick beside you through thick and thin.

So every book we see our guy Rowdy riding through town to flip off the jail and courthouse. Well, now we know why. He got screwed by a really bad bad cop. Luckily, he met up with the other guys and they got to help him semi recover but he will always be dead on the inside since his wife Michele is gone…or is she???

Poor Michele. Being so young and a bit naïve she didn’t fully support her man. I mean it’s her family against you and your man??? She caved and walked away from him. Now it seems she has gotten tricked and got caught up in the bad stuff that got him killed.

Can I say how awesome it was when he first saw her again after all the years?? I loved that he just grabbed her and reclaimed her. NO MATTER WHAT!!! She is and will always be his heart. Now he had to do anything and everything to make this wrong right and take his woman with him.
Oh sister wife…..another great book with another tough, demanding alpha that all of us readers love. But Trapper, Sweet Baby Jesus he is going to kill me!!!

Rowdy loved and I mean completely head over heels in love with his wife. She was his reason for living. However betrayal hits and rips his life in half. I could feel the light slipping away and my heart felt heavy with the betrayal pain he was experiencing. His pain made my heart hurt so much and I’m still feeling that pain as I write this review. I cried and I am not ashamed to admit that I bawled my eyes out. He was sent to prison for a crime he didn’t do and I was screaming at my kindle because the injustice was so frustrating for me to read!!

Rowdy thinks his wife is dead but no oh no it is not that simple. Michele soon realises the truth and realises what she did wrong. The lies and rumours had already done its damage though and she had no other option but to accept the hand that life had dealt her. She thought her decision to ‘disappear’ was the best option but the reality is that it is not that simple nor is it even that easy. Her so called freedom ends up being her own prison. I didn’t feel much sympathy for her or her decision at all but I did end up torn. The betrayal was not as clear cut or as black and white as it looks.

The Devil’s Due is the other main element of this book but for me they were the alpha support network Rowdy needed. I loved every element of watching him with the others. This book is amazing. I can’t explain it in words, you just need to read it and understand just how much of a brotherhood these men truly are. Chelsea made me scream, bawl, scowl and sigh so much in the process of this book, it might be my first read of hers but it definitely will not be my last.

I absolutely love Chelsea Camaron, her MC series' are some of my favourites and the Devils Due series is definitely up there!

It's Rowdy's turn for justice in this instalment of The Devils Due and after spending 8 years in jail for a crime he didn't commit he has turned into a completely different man from the one he was when he went away. I hated how things went for Rowdy, life really threw some major shit at him and while he grin and bear it he was out for vengeance.

Michele hasn't had an easy life either, after falling in love with Jackson and watching him go to jail for something that ruined her whole family she didn't know what to think. Circumstances take this couple away from each other for over ten years and while life has been tough she has gotten by.

I wasn't a big fan of Michele if I'm honest, I just couldn't get over her betrayal and while Rowdy was able to forgive her I wasn't. It wasn't just that though I found her hard to connect with if I'm being honest, she wasn't my favourite of Chelsea's leading ladies.

The Devils Due MC are a group of bikers who are out to get their own justice in the world, they have all been screwed over and are set on making things right themselves. I have loved this series but for me this book just lacked something, I can't even put my finger on exactly what it was but that's the reason this is t a five star review.

I can't wait to see what happens with Tempest and Deacon, their story has been one I have been looking forward to since Tempest first came into the mix.

I’ve been a fan of the Devil’s Due MC since book 1. So far, each story has delivered a great story and second chance for the men in this series. Shoot, they each deserve special happy endings.

Taking the bad and sad of being wronged and vowing to avenge the wronged and ensure justice. The purpose of their club is so different from those out there and only strengthens the honor I see in each of them.

That being said, I had trouble with Jackson and Michele’s story. I wasn’t able to connect with them or their story. I think, in part, it had to do with the speed of how it all went down. I felt a bit rushed. The prologue intrigued me and I was looking forward to know more about Jackson’s backstory but I didn’t feel like I got the chance to live through it and experience it. I’m not saying it wasn’t explained, because it was...it was like the facts were stated and then on to the next point. At least, that’s how it felt to me.

As for Michele, I didn’t like her at all. She came across as intelligent but deep down she was naive to the point where she needed up being used. At times she appeared to be tough, but it fell short. It wasn’t believable for me. In the previous books, the female leads were much stronger.

I’m really sad that I didn’t enjoy this one as much as the others. I’m REALLY looking forward to Trapper’s story, but until then...I can’t wait for Deacon’s. :-)

Review for Day of Reckoning (Devil’s Due #4) By Chelsea Camaron

Losing one’s self is never easy, but this story will break your heart but also give you hope that a love as deep as Jackson’s, can survive anything. Lies, secrets, betrayal and forgiveness brings the characters into an emotional world we can only read about, but will take you for an experience of true love, strength and commitment to the reader and leave them with an experience that will stay with them for a long time.

Jackson never gave up. His determination to move forward from the last years his life has been is a small band aide for the wound in his heart. His loss if overwhelming. His future, his wife, all of it and for something he didn’t do. When what he thought was true, is revealed that it was a lie, his world shifts gears and the road back is a long, hard rough ride.

Michele’s life is what it is. Keeping her mother safe from the cruelty of what her life has become. Learning the truth of the past and the betrayal she inflicted with the lies she was told, eats at her everyday. Not able to forgive herself for ruining the only love of her life, she lives with the danger and regret of her actions.

Loved this story from beginning to end. True love and second chances prove to be an enriching and enlightening read.

Chelsea Camaron is one of my go-to authors when I want a gritty, raw, and emotional mc romance. I don't have many authors on that list but she is high yo there in it. Her writing is above the bar... Her characters are perfectly imperfect... and Her plots are intricate, intoxicating, and intense. All the words Camaron writes is perfection.

Day of Reckoning is the fourth standalone novel in this series and man oh man what a story this was. Sexy. Suspenseful. Edgy. Tantalizing. Twisted. Edge of your seat, gasping for breath moments. This book and their journey was... everything I had hoped it would be when I checked out that synopsis and definitely the best this series has put out to date.

Rowdy, *sigh* .... the man was, simply every-thing. He made this book in so many ways. His resilience and fight and determination.... the way he loves so fiercely and with everything in him... swoon to the max y'all!

Their journey wasn't easy and was riddled with bumps and complications... but it was so worth it by the end and maybe just a wee bit addictive 😆 along the way.

Every moment, every heartache, every tear, every smile... Jackson "Rowdy" and Peony "Michele" are going to steal your heart and mark you deep.

If you haven't checked out Chelsea yet then this is the perfect series to start your journey... so so freaking good!

I highly recommend this book.

Jackson 'Rowdy' Presley was convicted of a crime he didn't commit, which destroyed his life. When he gets out, he found the person responsible for putting him away, and handled it himself. That doesn't change the fact that he lost his whole life, so with nothing left, he joins the Devil's Due MC for a new start. Peony 'Michele Forbes' has been living her life on the run, in order to leave the painful past behind. However the past comes knocking in more ways than one. I have been staring at the screen trying to figure out how to describe what I read without giving anything away, and I'm afraid that what I typed can't even skim the surface of the exciting goodness that I just read! I'm a HUGE fan of Chelsea Camaron, and her alpha bikers, and Jackson is no exception! This story hit the ground running, and never slowed down. The angst levels are high, twists & turns are definitely f-bomb dropping worthy, sexy times are HOT, and the action & suspense are off the charts heart racing goodness! Plus the colorful cast of secondaries kept me laughing in the middle of all the other emotions running rampant! I CANNOT WAIT to read more, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND this uber fast paced read to ALL!

4 Star Review by Jodi for Ruby Red Romance Review

So...I love Chelsea Camaron. She is one of my favorite authors, but this book...it wasn't my favorite. It wasn't bad, in the sense that it is wonderfully written, but for whatever reason I couldn't get into this story. It was totally me, so no other factors other than that.

I loved how much Jackson still loved his wife, even after years apart. I loved how much he never gave up on her. I think my issues with this story lie with Peony. I don't want to give to much away, because the storyline is great, but I can't tell you how many times I wanted to bash this woman over the head. In all honesty it was the way she doubted Jackson from the beginning that I think caused me to have issues with this story.

In the end this is a great story. Keep in mind this is the 4th book in a series and while I picked it up starting with this book, I think you should read the others before you read this book. In all honesty, that may have been part of my issue as well, however, this is Jackson and Peony's story, so it didn't affect me much. I still love Chelsea and will continue to read all her books.

Day of Reckoning is book 4 in the Devil's Due MC series and I am a huge fan of Chelsea Camaron, but this is the first of the series I have read, and I am so glad that they can be read as a standalone, no hope of getting lost that way. We join the crew for Jackson "Rowdy" Presley's story.

Rowdy was served a great injustice. Stolen from his wife and one true love Michele for a crime he never committed, of killing her brother. Everyone was out to get him, in the head he kept his head down and rolled with the punches, and in the process loses everything he holds dear. Upon his release he joins up with the Devil's Due MC adamant to clear his name and start over.

Twelve long years later, Rowdy gets the biggest surprise of his life regarding his wife Michele. This is a story of battling injustice, revenge, reunion, forgiveness, second chances, and true love. Does time and distance changes all? Come join the crew for Rowdy and Michele's compelling story. your heart will be melted. Definitely worth 5 stars.
