I'm D. Camille and I am an avid reader and author. I started reading romance books when I was thirteen and since then I've read hundreds. I wanted to write a series that contained the culture and history of the African and African American people.

I like to utilize historical information, science and ancient beliefs. I write for people to enjoy, think, analyze and learn; not only about the characters but hopefully also about themselves. I love to hear from my readers. Write me and tell me about your favorite characters and what you love about them. Me, I love all of them...they came from my heart.

Ase! (so let it be)

I'm really surprised because I enjoyed the previous books by this author. This book was just boring, I fell asleep trying to read it. I've only made it through the first couple of chapters due to this book being unbearable to read

Superb!

I really liked this story because it dealt with issues that a lot of couples are dealing with and that issue is living in long distance relationships. This is an issue needed to be acknowledged and solved together if both parties are willing to work on it together. This may or may not take time but you never know when love is involved. On this journey with Dereck and Lana opposites attract and no matter how successful you are they're always going to be road blocks, its just how to maneuver your way around them. Thank you for an excellent read. Her Protector is still my favorite.🙏

I was secretly waiting for the Sable Sisters story

And let me tell you it was well worth the wait. Lana and Derek were so easy to fall in love with. He was no nonsense about his business and about his woman. Lana seemed timid at first but when she opened herself up to the possibility of love even though she didn't want to leave home when love happened she mind didn't stand a chance against her heart. I am hoping we get a glimpse of the newly married Well's life in the next installment of the Sable Inn series.

Sweet Love

It took me awhile to read this book, partly because of my schedule and partly because it was not the usual D. Camille book that I am use to. I expect fire, intrigue, passion and on the edge suspense that makes it hard to put down.

This book was well written, loving and sweet, but not one I will go out of my way to re-read, like her other books. It was lovely, but not unforgettable

Excellent. Highly recommended.

When I started reading Derek and Lana's story, it took me a few pages to get into it .. But as usual I was disappointed by the end. I am looking forward to the next sister's love story .. Lorna and Jamal .. And am curious to see what happens with the third sister Lena.

A switch

I need to join a few book clubs. This book was good. Romance at its finest. I like a man that can talk that talk. Seriously, this author has a versatility that is simply unmatched. And now the wait continues.......

Loved it!

Lana and Derek exemplified black love at its finest. Both are strong individuals who learned compromise as they fell in love. Black love just like I like it...hot, steamy, and everlasting.

Cute

A great introduction to the series. Although this book started off slow for me, it finished up strong. Another good example of black love with an added bonus of current issues that are plaguing our country.

Very cute love story. The love between Dereck & Lana was developed quickly but it was done tastefully. It was tangible. I enjoy Ms. Camille’s writing style and I have never been disappointed with her work.

So good

Omg I loved the fist book in this series. Trudging on to book two. D’Camille is an awesome writer. Although it’s a love story she gives you everyday real life issues with the answers to solving or trying to solve the problem

Truly Kindred Souls

As with all of her series, D. Camille gives us book characters we can fall in love. Kindred Souls, the first book in the Sable Inn series was great.

Lana and Derek gave us a lesson in what it takes to compromise in a long distance relationship.

Positive black love!

I just love the positivity of black family, black life, and black love with a mixture of finesse, class and a dash of street. Everybody loves success brothers and sisters who workout situations and not sweat the s!all stuff. Another must read folks!

Good but slow

This book was not what I expected from this author. This was much slower. However the story line was good. Lana got on my nerves because of the desire to never not to leave Home. That made her really closed minded in my opinion.

Awesome Love Connection

I love this book. I have read every single book you had written, but I saved the Sable sisters for my 8 day cruise. I love Derek and Lana's story and can't wait to read the rest.

I enjoyed the story of the Sable Inn and the family who owns it. The story of a strong family bonded together by love and respect was refreshing.

OMG. This is one of D. Camille's best (in my opinion). It brought romance, suspense, positive energy, education (about how things work in Washington), and so much more. I can't wait to read book 2.

I recently discover D Camille and I must say from that I have enjoyed reading her book from The Black Diamond Series and The Uncut Series. I knew when I found out that she was releasing Kindred Souls that I was going to purchase the book and I must say glad I did.  I also know that Ms. Camille has The Black Land Series and I have only read one book from that series so far, with that said I will go back and finish the entire series.

Kindred Soul is set in Grayling Michigan. Although it is not as fast pace as the The Black Diamond, The Uncut and The Black Land series it is still a very good book. Sable Inn is a family own and operated by the Sable family which include Lloyd (who you met in Art of Deception (The Black Diamond Series), Lloyd is currently involve with Lavender (Ray & Sage’s mother), Lloyd daughters Lana, Lena and Lorna.  Lana & Derek lifestyle is total different. As a political campaign manager Derek is in some much needed rest and realization and on his way to Detroit he comes across the Sable Inn that was highly recommend. Derek over hear Lana and her girlfriends are having a lively discussion as the type of man that would interest her and in walks Derek.

Lana Sable is Director of Hospitality for the family Inn, and a woman who loves love job and family.  Lana has pledge in her heart and mind that she is never leaving home or city for anything.  Now we all know when you fall in love comprises has to be made in a long-distance relationship and as Derek and Lana begin their journey their there is some doubt but Derek as smooth as he is, he also shows Lana those ‘Urban Tendencies” she like in her man, and he has them.

The secondary characters in the book add some drama but it also adds some laugh.  I can’t wait for Lena & Lorna story to be told. As always Lavender and “gift” added to the story.

KINDRED SOULS Is the first installment and its starts off with a bang, it has great characters, just the right amount of drama, and romance. a standalone since it is the beginning of a new series; however, I highly recommend reading the previous
