WHERE THE HEART IS

Children of famous rock band, The Devil’s Share, Beau Cole and Halen Connor have known and loved each other all their lives. There was no one Beau wanted to be with more than Halen, no one who would ever have his heart. Four years older than his girl, Beau had vowed to keep their status as best friends until Halen was eighteen. But at sixteen Halen—beautiful, willful, stubborn Halen—wanted more, and Beau has never been able to deny Halen anything. And that was his mistake. He knew better, and she deserved better, so he left, trampling both their hearts to dust. Now, two years later, Beau must return home, and seeing Halen is either going to kill him or save his life.

I live in Austin, Texas with my husband, daughter, 3 rescue dogs, 1 cat, and one bunny (that doesn't seem to like us). I love reading romance novels as much as I love writing them. I feel like inspiration can come from anywhere; a song lyric, a quote, a weekend with friends. The tiniest things can spark amazing stories.

REALLY BIZARRE ADDITION TO THE SERIES!

I have to say I was looking forward to this story since the last Devil's Share book but It was truly AWFUL & Bizarre! It was almost like someone else wrote it entirely with only a vague idea of the Devil's Share characters. I could not see them acting this way with their kids EVER. Don't get me wrong, everyone makes mistakes but for ALL of them to overlook obvious problems with their children would not happen. I was also really disappointed in the older children (Beau and Landry) they knew secrets and problems but never came clean. I get why the TEENAGERS acted like this and hid stuff but seriously, B & L were adults and it is time for them to grow up and take responsibility and help when they notice things are going to hell in their younger cousins lives. One of them is practically addicted to drugs and yet they just let it go??? Really Bizarre.

Legacy

First off let me start by saying loved all the devil share books love love love them. But WTF?!?! ALL the devil share band turned out to be dead beat parents and no the kids are not alright don't want to spoil the book for anyone but I'm pretty sure we have a drug addict a couple of alcoholics and the all have more secrets than the CIA. The story was kind of bizarre really such devastating occurrence to happen no doctor no parents!!?? I will read the next book because even though this book was (not bad) more odd than anything I still have to see what's going to happen to the other self raised runts.

The Devil's Share Series is hands down one of my favorite Rock Star reads and I have read hundreds of them so it was a no brainer for me to 1 click this book about the offspring of the 4 band members. While I liked it, for me it read too much as a YA romance. Maybe because Halen never really matures IMO with everything she went through in fact this was a running thread throughout the story,
their decision making had me scratching my head in spots especially Landry. This will not stop me from 1-clicking the next one and hopefully she will act her age.

This would be my first read by LP Maxa it can be read as a stand alone but I'll be reading the devils share series soon think I will find this even more enjoyable if I would have since Legacy is about the children of those heroes and heroines . This is a second chance romance with characters that truly loved one another since they were at a age to realize what love is , liked the fact that we get a insight on their history the growing love to the heart breaking moment . Beau and Halen knew at a young age the other was the one for them but they hid their growing love from their family witch was really sad . Loved the fact that Halen is such a spit fire when she was young and in love we see a big change in her when the hero leaves and it was really heart breaking to witness . Beau I have very conflicted feelings about him he thought he was doing the right thing at the time but honestly viewed as him running away , I wished early on he would admit what he was thinking to the heroine instead of it coming out wrong it really took me time to get to like him . But over all I really like this book it had me in many emotions and I can't wait to see whats to come .

Legacy By LP Maxa

What can I say about this book… WOW! It is not often when a book will hit you where it hurts in a good way. This book was a rollercoaster of emotions for me to read, from Laughing to crying and then feeling the tension with the characters. I could not put this down. LP Maxa hit this out of the stadium. I just could not put this book down. Yes, really yes I just couldn't put it down … It's not very often when reading a book that you find yourself laughing, crying snotty tears, feeling sick with tension. Yes, honestly, it really is that good. that good! Now I hate giving away spoilers as I feel that everyone need to read the books themselves and not a review that tells all. This book is about Beau and Halen ( Kids from LP Maxa’s Devil's Share series) These two have had rough few years but will it be enough for a HEA? Read the book! To me it’s a Must Read 5-star book.

I am a huge fan of L.P. Maxa's Devil's Share series so I couldn't wait to read about the Devil's spawn. I was not disappointed!! Legacy is the story of Beau, the son Jacks and Bryan, and Halen, the daughter of Dash and Lexi. It's a beautifully written story of heartbreak and love, interwoven with humor. I'm not one to give away any type of spoilers while reviewing a book but I will say this, the Devil's Share family is a hot mess and I can't wait to get the rest if their stories!

I voluntarily received an advanced review copy of this book and chose to review it.

I absolutely love the Devil's Share series so I was excited to read about their spawn. However, because we haven't really been introduced to the kids before, besides Landry, Halen and Beau, I found the Going a bit tough. I constantly was referring back to the family tree and having to stop and think about who belonged to whom. I also found the language used in the prologue didn't fit with the ages the kids were supposed to be.

Having said that, I did love this book. I loved the completely heart wrenching tone of Beau and Halen's relationship. Even though I felt the language in the prologue was a little off, I did love that bit.
But I felt the book was focused so much on the other kids and what was going on with them, rather than solely focused on Beau and Halen. I would've liked to have seen more of them interacting, also more of Halen after Beau left, I felt like we never really get a full picture of her.

I am excited to read more about the other kids, Landry is intriguing and so is Cash, although I'm not keen on the impending sense of doom for most of the kids. Still, this is a great book and I'd get on it!

1st off...Shout out to Amy Halter for turning me onto to LP Maxa!!
I LOVED Beau and Halen!! Legacy is such a beautiful and amazingly written story of young love and loss.. and I tell you this now.. you are soooo going to need the tissues with this one..

Halen is Dash and Lexi's Daughter and Beau is Jacks and Bryan's adopted son..

My heart broke for both Beau and Halen. Beau and Halen were in love.. hiding the relationship from all the family.. but a awful tragedy strikes and Beau leaves.. and while I may not have liked it I understand why Beau did what he did.. But when another tragedy strikes and brings Beau back home can forgiveness be found and will they be able to forget past and move forward to be together?

Thank you for the amazing read.. off to Landrys story. <3

I feel like I am missing something by not having read the Devil's Share series. The confusion when something is referred to and I am not getting it.
As for Halen and Beau they have been friends forever and have loved each other just as long. When things happen and Beau takes off for places unknown thinking he is doing what's best for Halen is just another dude running from problems without discussing them with the significant other. As for the parents of all of these kids why are they so oblivious as to what is going on with their lives? Are they the type of parents we read in other books that are disfunctional? Don't care what's going on as long as it doesn't interfer with the allusion that all is perfect?

My Go To Author

I absolutely loved the devil's share series and love this one too! The story of Beau and Halen is so beautiful and written impeccably . It was such an emotional read, keeping me on the edge of my seat. I could feel the devastation, the weight of their secrets, and the love. I hope to read more about these two, but I also want to know everything about the others... Great Epilogue! I need Landry's story now! Another great read LP.

Again

This is a book I want to read again!
It's not a rocker romance. It's a story of their children. I was looking for a book that I wouldn't put down and I found it. Have the tissues ready. It's time for me to start this again. Enjoy! I did

Beau and Halen ❤️

I really loved Beau and Halens story. It was heart wrenching but so sweet. I didn’t agree with what Beau did but I understood why he thought that way. It was obvious how much they loved each other.

I really enjoyed the first couple of books in the Devil's Share series by L.P. Maxa, but I ended up not finishing the series as life just got in the way as did my ever growing TBR. When I saw Legacy coming out though, I knew I had to read it and after finishing it just made me want to start all over with the Devil's Share books and get caught up. I forgot just how much I enjoyed Maxa's writing and this captivating world she has created.

The RiffRaff Records series is a spin-off series about the kids from the couples of the Devil's Share series. You do not need to read these in order, but it does help to know some of the backstory if you have read them. Legacy is a standalone story though and features Beau and Halen. They were close as kids and things only intensified as they got older and developed feelings for one another. Things were good until Beau left and broke her heart.

Beau and Halen were characters that I instantly loved and knew belonged together. Things between them weren't simple though, and despite their connection Beau made the decision to leave breaking Halen's heart as well as his own. It was heartbreaking to watch the pain they each felt, and while I saw what he was doing I still didn't agree with it. These two had such strong chemistry and so much history, and it was so clear that they were made for one another.

Overall, this book was emotional and I enjoyed it, even when it broke my heart. These two had such a special bond that is rare and unique and I loved their story from start to finish. It was great to see familiar faces from Devil's Share as well as their kids. These characters are so close to one another and I just love them all. If you haven't read anything by L.P. Maxa before, I highly recommend checking out the Devil's Share and the RiffRaff Records series. I can't wait to read more from Maxa and go back and read the ones I missed and I think readers will really enjoy these books too.

Legacy is the story of Beau and Halen. What do you do after a life changing event happens and your one true love leaves you high and dry? Beau and Halen being two of the older children in Devil’s Share Legacy had a secret relationship. They were taught that they were family, brother and sister, or cousins even though they were not blood related. Beau and Halen never felt that way towards each other since they were little kids. One night a tragic event happens and Beau decides to leave Halen, so she can better her life. It’s been two years since they seen other. A death in the Devil’s Share brings Beau home. All they have to do is pretend their past never happened and get through fours days until Beau leaves.

Even though this is not the first book of the Riff Raff Series this is the first story of some of the Devil’s Share Legacy. You get to meet all their kids and start learning about each one of them. Beau is always the protector and trying to do the right thing in his mind. He always believes he is doing everything for Halen no matter good or bad. Halen is not the girl she use to be. Two years change a lot she is an empty shell and her younger family members take care of her. Let me tell you I have read this series over and over and it still rips my heart out. This series is full of wonderful characters. Beau and Halen’s story is one for the books in angst. Their pain they bring to the table rips your heart into shreds. You get to walk through their journey through their memories, while walking with them in their present. Beau and Halen starts a domino effect. You learn secrets all the kids are holding onto and see a little bit into future books. I wouldn’t recommend trying to read this as a stand-alone.

I have been itching to get my hands on this book for a good while. As soon as I got this book I devoured it in one sitting.
So many damn feels! For the first part of the book, I was like “aww” at Beau and his love for Harlan. Then the first chapter in and it was clear to see that Beau had somehow hurt Harlan, I was intrigued. I was eager to discover what had happened between Harlan and Beau. When it was revealed, my heart broke for Harlan. I then had mixed feelings on Beau. I wanted to hate him for hurting Harlan, yet I just couldn’t. I understood his reasons for it, did I like what he did No. I have to admit that: usually I would be like ‘’don’t forgive him Harlan’’. Yet I could see the chemistry between her and Beau. I liked them together as friends and the small clips of them as a couple. I was rooting for them to give it a second chance.
I still couldn’t get my head around the fact that the ‘’adults’’ didn’t open their eyes to what was going on. I wanted to shout at them to pay attention. I kind of feel guilty because I love Dash but I was annoyed at his reaction to Harlan’s secret. I wanted to shout at him that if he and the others had paid attention then they’d have knew. The chemistry and love between Beau and Harlan was through the roof obvious. And Jacks bless his heart, my love for him grew. I never thought I could love him more than I already did – he’s my favourite. But the fact that he didn’t kick off at Beau? Perfect. I also liked his reaction to Landry’s news.
I cannot wait to read more books from the devil’s share kids. I need Landry’s book now!
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and an enjoyable read.

Legacy is Beau and Halen's story. They are the offspring of The Devils Share characters - being termed Devil's Spawn. It's a second chance love story between these two that grew up as best friends from childhood. Their friendship was beyond close and turned to love, then tragedy and ultimately heartbreak. Now Beau has returned and he and Halen must face their past and find a way to be in each other's space again. Their family (the 'rents) never knew they were involved. The kids - all the spawn - kept and keep each other secrets and they continue to try to remain under the radar for what was an intense relationship.

This story just grabs you and takes you on an emotional ride. If you've read the original books, you have an attachment to these characters and their intense friendship. It's very hard to see how much they are both hurting and how distant they have become. There is a lot of sub character development going on in this book, setting up the rest of the series. I loved meeting everyone and seeing the bond they all had and how they love each other and have all had each other's back all their lives.

It's a wonderful book and a fantastic jumping off for the series. L.P Maxa is on her way to giving us yet another brilliant series. I can't wait to see what comes next. Beau and Halen were such a treat - even if they were wrapped up in a pretty emotionally charged story. It's was worth it though. The end was that much sweeter for all they endured.

What a wonderfully complex and emotional story Legacy is. Beau and Halen have loved each other for what seems like forever and the transition from friends to lovers is seamless and beautifully written. At times their struggles broke my heart and I wanted to wrap them in my arms and tell them everything would be all right.

This author writes family exceptionally well and I love that we get to see plenty of the cousins and siblings in this book too. These kids are great fun and their antics are priceless. It makes me wish I had family around me like this when I was growing up. The twins stand out in particular and Cash is an absolute sweetheart. They tease each other mercilessly but are hugely supportive of one another, a tight group in which secrets abound.

We also get little hints of what may be happening in the lives of the other Devil's Share kids. There's a whole lot of clandestine goings on and this book sets the groundwork for future stories. A fantastic book. I absolutely loved it and all the emotions it gave me. I can't wait to read more from this talented author and I'm excited to delve deeper into the lives of this whole group.

What happens when love gets to be no match for secrets.... This is what Beau and Halen faced when their childhood attraction became a loving relationship they no longer wanted to deny. What was right and "finally" to them became more. Tragic, guilt, and so much more played with the future and hearts of these young lovers. Hold on.... death brought them a second chance but hurt still held the key to both hearts.

This was one crazy story, never would I have thought the my men would have turned into those parents. They disappointed me but I guess no one really wants to see the dark when you lived it for so long. A unit to be divided or not what you envisioned. Roller coaster excitement but darn sure worth the ride. The secrets are too much but the blindness is overshadowing the good. What would LP do next because the real ness just began.

Being a Riff-raff family is awesome but being kids of Riff-raff is not, the kids of Riff-raff are held to a certain standard persay. Beau and Halen are close they grew up together and was each other's shadow til feelings were developed and Beau knew he would always love Halen and they had plans, but things went to far to fast and Beau knew he could slow her down so he left but it was what he thought was right for her, but now 5 years later he's back home and he's discovered how broke Halen was when he left, and that maybe he was wrong cause his love for her is still very much alive, but can she forgive him or trust him.

Dash and lexi's Daughter Halen & Jacks and B's adopted son Beau story!
Beau and Halen have always been close from childhood, but when they grew up their feelings grow up with them. Loving is easy but staying with those who you love might be difficult, when Beau and Halen are faced with unexpected tragedy in their life, they are left in different paths..Can they forget past and move forward to be together?
You can see the band glimpses its feels surreal reading their kids stories..but it was a great read and i look forward to the new generation's books!

It's standalone but if you hadn't read any of the parent's series you'll be quite overwhelmed with characters for about half the book but it's all so interesting.
The story was a bit depressing due to Beau leaving after miscarriage as well as the many secrets the kids of these rock stars accumulated. I kind of wished for some lighter hearted moments because nothing these kids did was all that horrible but they seemed imprissioned by that compound and weirdly detached parents.

I absolutely loved this book! The emotional roller coaster this story took me on was gut wrenching, wonderful and amazing. I felt for both of the main characters as I have been through the same thing in my life. This book had become one of my absolute favorites! Hands down I will recommend this book (the entire series) over and over again. L.P. Maxa has done it again!
