An interesting idea that played a unique portion into the robots rule the world now role might have missed a step on this issue. This is the big setup to everything that is going wrong in the heroes life before he has to save the world. It felt rushed to set everything up at once and at the same time it felt too long. It does make the reader wonder how in the world D4VE saved the world once, since he bumbles through life now. It's still a great read, and it still makes me want to read more, but this fell a little flat.

D4ve finally gets a purpose for existing. His wife is leaving him, his boss gives him a promotion against all odds, and his boss also admits that he hates him. D4ve continues day dreaming, and his son prank calls him. His son is also doing drugs. D4ve is not amused.

D4ve watches the broadcast of the alien invasion, and suddenly D4ve re-finds his organic matter hating spirit. He is armed, and ready to kick some butt.
