The Illest
Lyric Travers is a superstar…kind of. After posting a few photos of herself on Instagram in 2013, she gained thousands of followers practically overnight…along with plenty of hate. Making it to a million followers was a long, hard road, at times flecked with money and praise, but mostly fending off negativity and lies. But two million followers has ushered in a whole new ballgame, and she's in a whole other place in her life than she used to be.
Between dealing with opportunistic, misogynistic entertainers, an absentee father trying to come back into her life after abandoning her when she was a child, and her older sisters' rivalry, her life tends to get pretty hectic at times. But she has her mom, Marie, giving her sound advice along the way, her boyfriend, Zion, who's brought sunshine into her life that she never thought possible, and her dreams that go beyond the world of Instagram that she intends to pursue and goals she intends to accomplish long after she's said goodbye to her Instagram fame.
While she doesn't deny that Instagram was a stepping stone to bigger and better things, she also knows that whatever she's gained in that world won't last forever, and she's prepared to let it go…someday.
