She could handle his now, and he wanted her to be his future. If only she could accept his past.

Lexi Blake sure knows how to end a series with a bang! Nobody Does It Better packed a heck of a punch; sexy, action packed, suspenseful, with a whole lot of espionage and plot twists thrown in. I couldn't get enough!

This was an incredibly bittersweet book for me to read. Lexi's Master and Mercenaries series has been one of my top favorite Romantic Suspense series. With a dash of espionage and a splash of BDSM, this series quickly became both an addiction and an obsession.

Kayla is the last of the original McKay-Taggart crew without a HEA and she definitely doesn't get an easy one. After spending years as a double agent with the MSS, she's no stranger to taking on a role. Now she's taken on her biggest role yet; as the bodyguard and submissive to one of Hollywood's biggest stars.
There was something running under her surface. Something dark and twisted that would fight like hell with that unbelievably sunny smile of hers. Something he would like to explore

Joshua Hunt is definitely no regular movie star. He's a man with a dark past that's left its share of scars on his soul. Try as he could to outrun it, it always caught up to him. He no longer believes in love or happily ever after, but contracts and the pleasure of now. Joshua thinks that Kay is there to serve as his new bodyguard and submissive, but the truth is so much more than that.

Admittedly, I wanted to hate Josh for his behavior at times. Because of his past he's quick to judge and jumps to the worst possible conclusion. This is not a man that grovels after his woman. This is a man that hides his feelings and his past scars beneath a veneer of cold indifference and callous words. Kay is the one woman that understands what he needs better than most. She takes his punishments and his callousness and she doesn't run. She confuses him with her giving nature. In any other book, I'd say Kay is a pushover, but she's far from it. It takes a strong woman to see beneath the mask and down to the true man that Josh is underneath; to give him a chance to see that man himself. As much as I wanted her to strike back at Josh for some of his bitter words, I understood why she didn't.

There's so much that happens here beyond the romance as well. Nobody Does It Better was one action packed ride full of twists and turns. There are so many secrets that come to the surface that completely blew my mind. And while the McKay Taggart team has their moments, we also get a nice introduction to a spin-off with The Lost Boys that I absolutely can't wait for.

I can't say this was my favorite romance in the series, but it was still a highly satisfying one. I loved Kay and Josh together. Even if at times I felt Josh doesn't deserve Kay, he came through and redeemed himself at the end. Get ready for some crazy revelations, because this story packed a number of them. And while I'm sad to see my favorite series come to an end, it certainly was one high-octane conclusion.

4 steamy stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Well my over eager self strikes again! Turns out this is the 15th and last book in the Masters and Mercenaries series.... it appears as though each book has its own HEA so it did work as a standalone.... although I was missing a lot of the backstory on the agency that the girls worked for and the involvement with the CIA and some other details, but it still worked....

Kayla is a double agent, hired to be the bodyguard/submissive for Josh.... Kayla is sassy and spunky and pretty kick ass, she is a female bodyguard after all.... josh is just pretty much an ass, but I guess he’s hot and he has his reasons, but still... for the majority of this book I thought Kayla was way too good for Josh.... although he did redeem himself a bit in the very end....

My favorite part of this book however was all the espionage and intrigue.... there was a ton of action and a lot of secrets were revealed.... I think I prefered the suspense in this book to the romance, but that was just a matter of personal taste..... and if you didn’t gather from the above mentioned submissive, if you are not into a book with some pretty graphic sex scenes, this is not for you!

Absolutely recommend for lovers of the romance genre with a lot of steam and suspense🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

4* scared to be lonely STARS!!

As the last book of M&M series, I did not see it coming. I already invested in this series so much but somehow I feel this stretched too far outside McKay-Taggart's main team. I'm also surprised that Kayla has her own book (maybe a novella) but she already play a bigger part like Erin. So yeah, here's her book and the handsome troubled Hollywood star.

Joshua Hunt described as a very private and closed person. The media loves a bit piece of him and that's until he hired bodyguards under his friend's recommendation. But the third one also will be his submissive. Kayla Summers think this job will be a sweet escape beside their secret ops. But Josh didn't make it easy for her at first. His dominance is true and Kayla is more than ready for him.

Who didn't like an ass Hollywood star? Meee! Josh has a lot of baggage more than anyone. His cold exterior is not a joke. Josh didn't hesitate because he thought this supposed to be only sex and control. But he lost it over Kayla. She changed him and it makes him vulnerable. How many times Josh irritated me but Kayla makes it easy for him. He redeemed himself but it was hard for me.

Oh my... this girl is really fun and fearless. As an 'retired' secret agent, she now works as a bodyguard also doing some ops to expose the biggest cartel in Mexico. Kayla always crave true BDSM because in the Garden, they're feels like a family. But with Josh, he has everything she needs. I might say that they maybe have one of the best BDSM chemistry in the entire M&M series. Super HOT!

I was a bit pessimist with Josh's prickly attitude. He has a lot issues and the biggest one is trust. He struggled to express himself but Josh admitted that he liked Kayla so much. He's such a sweet guy. But after he knows the truth, the cold Josh is back. Anyway, after Big Tag slapped some senses into Josh, he redeemed himself. Again.

The story was well-balanced between Josh-Kayla's relationship and the suspense. I really enjoyed Kayla and the team, Deacon and Shane. They're such a dork. Also Jared's appearance make another question. Will he get his own book? Because this guy really need a HEA. In the end, Lexi Blake managed to make surprises and I already aware of. I just can't wait for the Lost Boys series because they have a new shepherd, Ezra Fain. This is gonna be so much fun!

I'm not going to rate this one because I basically skim read it just to get prepared for the LOST BOYS series. I will say Josh was one of this author's WORST heroes IMO. I am not sure why this author's heroes of late have been such HUGE a$$holes and the heroines such doormats. In any case, I have my fingers crossed we get better characters and some fresh plots in the upcoming new series.

As a huge fan of the Masters and Mercenaries Series, Lexi Blake continues to entice and enthrall readers with her sexy alpha men and feisty heroines. Truly, nobody does it better than Lexi Blake and hence why the title Nobody Does It Better fits the bill for this 15th installment.

9d05bed2dea17cf49c61d44fe02dc8As though declaring her game. She would feint and hide. He would pursue and find. For the first time in a long while, he was ready to play.”

In Nobody Does It Better, readers are introduced to a double agent female heroine who happens to be tough, bold, and feisty as hell. Typically as for heroines, authors tend to gravitate to the standard blonde or brunette heroines and so I was completely surprised that Lexi Blake wrote an Asian American heroine. Kayla Summers is a CIA agent operative who happens to also work for McKay- Taggart London. When Kayla is assigned to be a bodyguard as well as sub for Joshua Hunt, she is in for a surprised how much she has fallen for Joshua.

#NobodyDoesItBetter1

Joshua Hunt is an A-list actor who has risen from the bottom to the top. He is very private of his past and sexual kinks. As a Dominant, Josh satisfies his cravings and needs with sex that involves BDSM. Usually, his women are just toys. No emotional attachment. Just sex. And so when he meets, Kayla something inside ignites him. He is more than attracted to her. He wants her. Longs for her in a deeper emotional connection.

9d05bed2dea17cf49c61d44fe02dc8That was love. Wanting more for someone even when she couldn’t be the one to give it.”

As Kayla and Josh continue to get closer, Kayla also has to do her job and her mission is to get closer to Josh in order she can accompany him to meet one of Josh’s benefactors. Josh is oblivious to any criminal activities and so when he learns of the real motives of Kayla, will he push her away for good? And will Kayla be able to protect Josh as well as prove to him that she loves him and nothing about her feelings for him is fake?

#NobodyDoesItBetter

Nobody Does It Better is a prime example of Lexi Blake’s ability to orchestrate a story that blends heat, passion, duplicity, suspense and tastefully erotica. So if you are looking for a book that had romance and action then I would highly recommend you to read this book.

“He was nothing more than a man kissing the woman of his dreams and hoping he could be enough for her.”

I’m going to make this short and sweet because if you’ve been following my reviews you know that Lexi Blake is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITES in the game! You know that I will gush and gush and gush over this woman’s writing and the characters that she manages to bring to life in my heart. Right now, NOBODY DOES IT BETTER, book #15 in the amazing Masters and Mercenaries Series, is being slated as the last book in the series. I’ll be honest, my heart shredded with that information because these characters have become somewhat of a family to me. But I’m also being told that it’s not the end for this world. There will be spin-off(s) where some of our favorites will reappear and strut their stuff. THIS made me incredible happy! First of all, I have complete trust in this author. She has NEVER steered me wrong. Second, no matter the series, no matter the genre, I instantly become addicted to her words. So while this may be the end of the Masters and Mercenaries series, it is NOT the end to Lexi’s INCREDIBLE storytelling!

Ok, so back to NOBODY DOES IT BETTER, the highly anticipated story of our girl, Kayla Summers and Hollywood hot shot, Joshua Hunt. These two definitely got to me in the emotions department. I love Kayla to death! She is feisty. She is hilarious. She takes no shit and gives no fucks. The assignment she’s about to dive into will test everything for her. Joshua Hunt has demons…many, many demons. One thing he knows for sure? He needs CONTROL in all things and he plans on showing his sexy new bodyguard just what that means. The beautiful connection that transpires between these two hardheaded people, is magical to read about. Ms. Blake brings the heavy, the light, the suspense, the passion, and the intensity to every single page of this INCREDIBLE love story. I couldn’t get enough! Fans of the series, will absolutely ADORE Kayla, Joshua, and the whole damn gang! This author has once again, nailed my heart to the wall with this one! I couldn’t have been more delighted with the beautiful outcome!

So much for short and sweet! Geez! I guess I just can’t help myself! 😉

How I love being disappointed by a favourite author of mine.

I shouldn’t have requested it and gone with my gut but noooooooo

Good thing this was the last in the series because I think this is the worst book in the series. IMO an end of a series should always try to go out with a bang and not a fizzle. This my friends is a fizzle.

The characters.

Kayla former double spy is trying to live a normal life. She decides to take on one more mission for the CIA. Be the submissive and bodyguard for Hollywood Heartthrob for Joshua Hunt. I’ve liked Kayla in every book as a secondary character but here I don’t what it was. I think she should have stayed a secondary character.

Joshua Hunt, Hollywood star, broken man has many a stalker and his security has to have been uped but he is also looking for a sub a business transaction. I have no real words to describe the twit.

The Chemistry.

I didn’t feel the chemistry between the two. They also got off to a rocky start at the beginning. To be honest I didn’t see any improvement. Josh is a right tool. He accuses Kay of being a whore and she just takes it. I don’t get it. He isn't a man whore though. All very meh especially the BDSM of the book. They develop deep feelings for one another and the L word comes into play. Nope sorry don’t believe it. Especially after no scenes of their interaction that can prove that the feelings are real.

The Plot

At the 64% mark.

Ms. Blake has flawless writing she knows how to suck you into a story here but all aspects of the storytelling just fell short for me.
Now I love the spy shit but there was too much going on. Josh’s past, the Mexican Cartel, the CIA after the Lost Boys. One or two would have been okay but I felt as if I was being pulled in so many directions that I patience was being tested. In the end Kay and the CIA have an ulterior motive and she was lying even by omission it was all based on a lie, the same with book one really but the roles were reversed.

The Conclusion.

It didn’t feel like a conclusion to the series but maybe it was the bridge over to the series of The Lost Boys. I miss the Tags in all of this. It's not the same without Sanctum and or The Garden. I so wanted to go back to the former years. It felt ridiculous and absurd. I really don't know what LB was trying to create here and it truly pains me to say this because I am a huge fan. But I am just so disappointed. I’m sure this will as usual be a hit for all of you. So take my review with a pinch of salt.

I’m a bit on the fence with this book, mostly due to Josh and Kayla. I liked Kayla, think she is amazingly sane for the life she lead. What didn’t work for me was her and Josh as a couple and a lot of that was due to Josh. He was so in his head, which lead him to be very hot and cold with Kayla and the drama at the end when Kayla came clean with him, man oh man, Josh was an ass then.

What I really liked in this one was, once again Big Tag coming in to keep his crew in line and dispensing advice in the only way he can. I laugh so much reading those scenes. This time around it was especially fun as Adam and Alex came along to chime in.

Another aspect of this book that I liked was how a blast from the past came back in. I loved learning this person was a favorite from the Nights in Bliss series the author wrote under the name Sophie Oak. That series was so much fun to read for all the crazy things that happened. I love that the spin off series is heading back there and can’t wait to read it!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of the book.

I was absolutely blown away by this book! I loved Kayla and Joshua: from their individual backstories, to the way they came together emotionally and sexually, and the way they grew as individuals - it was all so so good! I'm late to the Masters & Mercenaries game, but the way that Lexi Blake handles her characters is such that I am convinced that I must start the series from the beginning so I can learn the ins and outs of this unique, James Bond-esque world, plus its spinoffs! There was such heat, emotion, and action - it was everything I could want from a romantic suspense and more. Nobody Does It Better is one of those rare books that I found myself talking to my hubby about (sans the sex and BDSM-lite) so that he could understand why I was so enthralled. While I hate that I've become enamored with the series as it comes to an end, I take solace in the fact that not only can I now read the whole thing in its entirety, I can look forward to the spinoff featuring the Lost Boys! 5 out of 5 wine glasses.

I cannot believe this is the last book in the Masters and Mercenaries series. Thankfully we have the spinoff which is about the lost boys and it makes me feel better because I am not done with the series and this universe. I love them all so much and I am happy that we will get more novels and novellas. The series might have ended, but there is still too much going on, so while a door just close we still have 10 of them that are still open. Unfinished business to speak plainly. Also, I wanna read Jared's book. He and Sarah should be together. He seemed so devoted to her and my heart was aching for him. He must get a book which preferably will be released in 2018.

Before I say anything else, I have to say that the book had too many names that started with J. I am really bad at remembering people and their names even in real life and all the Js started confusing me at some point around 4 am when I was still reading the book. I couldn't put it down because everything seemed slow and easy breezy in the first three-quarters of the book, but in the last one things got explosive, people got shot and the adrenaline kicked in. It was everything I ever wanted. I kept turning the pages because I had to read what was going to happen next, if all the people I loved would make it out alive in the end and if everything was going to be all right. I won't say more since I want to give you a chance to enjoy this book without having been spoiled and I don't think I can continue writing without giving away something.

Kay is a kick arse heroine. We all know her and love her already so I am not going to say much about her. Her dads were fun. I liked how she handled her personal and professional life. She did what she wanted without being forced into anything and she got after what she wanted. She tried to be as honest as possible and risked everything. Josh, on the other hand, was giving me a whiplash with all the sudden changes of emotion. One minute he is all about how Kay is moving on without him and his fine about it and the next he is thinking how HIS Kay would never do that. Dude, decide if you want the woman or not. He was so perfectly broken at first, but once he found out a few things he got very mad and I started liking him a little bit less. In the end, he fixed things, but for a short time he was on my "I don't like him much list".

Do I need to say if I would recommend the book? No. You already know the answer to that. I will say though that Ian and two more people (see, still not spoiling everything) make an appearance and I loved it! It was very funny and it reminded me that I should read Ian's book.

This is the last entry in the Master's and Mercenaries series, and I'm going to miss them. Oh, there are going to be spinoffs and a look at the characters down the line, but not having Big Tag to make me laugh out loud every few months is going to be hard.

This is a highly emotional book with lovable characters, a convoluted plot, and some steamy sex. We get a visit by Ian, who wants more punches for Tennessee Smith-and we find more about John Bishop, now Henry Flanders from the author's Bliss, Colorado, series.

The heroine is Kayla Summers, former double agent for the CIA, now just an agent, but also on the payroll for McKay-Taggart Security. Her current assignment is to be a bodyguard-and submissive- for Joshua Hunt, movie star extraordinaire. Her undercover assignment is to find out all she can about Hunt's ties to a Mexican drug cartel honcho, who hides behind a generous businessman persona, but in reality is involved in the white slave trade in addition to drugs.

Joshua may be larger than life on screen, but inside, a scared little boy keeps him from forming attachments, and his horrendous secret makes him vulnerable on several layers. But Kayla's sunny personality, and entertaining anecdotes about her days as an undercover CIA assassin keep him entertained and the two begin developing an actual Dominant/submissive relationship. But Kayla knows she's skating on the edge of disaster if Joshua finds out about her CIA connection.

There are so many characters in this book it almost requires a road map to keep them straight, not the least of who are Kayla's adoptive fathers, who are not only a gay couple but also black and white. They are protective of their daughter, and have serious doubts about her relationship with Hunt. They aren't the only ones-all of Kayla's coworkers near and far are worried about the couple's status-and the op.

What Kayla doesn't know is that she has been set up by the CIA in a way she can't anticipate-and when the operation goes sideways, both she and Joshua are thrown for a loop. Can the two of them overcome the betrayal to find a way back to each other? My only complaint about the book is the same one Joshua has about the operations : “It's a bad script because the bad guy gets away.” Only one , but we are set up for a scenario headed to Bliss. I can't wait!

5 Star Review of Nobody Does It Better (Masters and Mercenaries #15) by Lexi Blake
Nobody Does It Better is book 15 in Lexi Blake’s Masters & Mercenaries series which is one of my all-time favourite series.
Nobody does sexy suspense books like Lexi Blake. If you like sexy bad ass alpha males, some BDSM, smoking hot sex and characters that will melt your heart and your panties, then look no further.
This is McKay-Taggart London operative Kayla Summers and well known movie star Joshua Hunt’s story. Summer is sent in by the CIA in a joint operation to manipulate Josh into taking her to Mexico. Initially she is to be his submissive but it soon morphs into so much more.
Josh doesn’t do relationships, his past has damaged him too much. However there is something about Kay and the feelings that she brings out in him, he just can’t seen to help himself.
“The only way to beat the darkness is to drag it all into the light, Josh.”

There was a lot going on in Nobody Does It Better and although it is a stand alone, I truly feel you would get more enjoyment and understanding if you were to read the previous books in the series first. Ms. Blake has used this book as a bridge across to her new spin-off series which I am really looking forward to.
Nobody Does It Better is filled with suspense, danger, intrigue and the growth of a deep and committed love; one that made my heart pound at times. This book just flows on so many levels; not to mention the humour that comes out in some extremely interesting situations.
“Sometimes bravery isn’t about slaying a dragon. Sometimes bravery is about getting out of bed every morning and going to work even when the pain is so bad you can’t stand the thought of going on.”

One of the things that I love about Lexi Blake is that her characters are never one dimensional, there are always so many layers and Kayla and Josh were no exception.
This book was phenomenal. I absolutely loved it from the first to the last page. Knowing that this is the last book in the series as we know it is bitter sweet, in fact I took longer than normal to read it as I didn’t want it to end.

I was engrossed in the suspenseful twists and turns, and at times, it got really soapy (and perhaps a bit much), but yes, overall I really enjoyed this. If you’re a longtime reader of the M&M series, I think you’ll be happy with this, and if you’re new to the ‘verse, I’d encourage you to give the early books a read first to get the full effect of this romantic suspense series.

I was happy to see Kayla and Josh work their way to an HEA, and I’m eagerly anticipating what will happen with the next generation of Ms. Blake’s spies in their new surroundings.

This was book 15 in the "Masters and Mercenaries" series and I really hope that this isn't the last book in this series I would really miss Big Tag. Kayla Summers was an elite CIA double agent, working inside China’s deadly MSS. Now, she works for McKay-Taggart London when Ezra Fain ask her to work a case with him she agrees to be the bodyguard and sub for a Hollywood movie star Joshua Hunt. Josh is a hot sexy rich leading man in Hollywood he is also friends with Jared Johns the brother of Kai who we met in book 10. This was a really good book I love reading Lexi's books. Josh who has a was discovered when he was 18 is being blackmailed because of his past. The group is trying to find out his ties to a Mexican drug lord an agent has been killed when Josh finds out that Kay is using him he is angry at her because he loved her. I have always liked Kay she is strong smart and sexy and she would do anything to protect those she loves. When she finds out about Josh being blackmailed she vows to find the person and kill her. They both have dark past and when ghost show up while they are in Mexico it's a shock and all the pieces fall in line. We also met her father's who adopted her and it was kind of funny that they just showed up. I loved reading this book and I felt bad for what happened to Ezra. The sex in this book were hot these two had get chemistry. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series. I really want to no what's going on with Eve and Alex and her being pregnant and Charlie wanting another baby.

The idea of a submissive bodyguard...ok, now THAT is interesting. And, this book delivers. It's as interesting, compelling and hot as you think it will be from the description. It's also the last in the series, darn it. Although, there is a spin off and this is mentioned at the end...and it's a story I have wanted to hear, so that helps with knowing this is it for Masters and Mercenaries.

Josh is famous, Hollywood royalty, and needs security. Kayla is his bodyguard...there is a lot more there than that, but it's full of spoilers and I am not going to do that too you here...it's a twisty mess that works its way out through the book, so you are just going to have to read this one to see what happens (and, I recommend that you do exactly this!)

As this is the 15th title in the series, there is some overlap of characters, however you are able to pick up what is happening with Josh and Kay, even if you haven't read any of the other titles.

As always, this book was well written with some great use of pop culture references (snakes anyone?) that make the characters feel like real people who just happen to also carry guns and train for hand-to-hand combat.

I am sad to see the end of the series, but excited to see where the spin off goes from here.

I recommend this title.

Adopted from China as an infant, CIA operative Kayla Summers spent much of her adult life impersonating her dead twin sister as a double agent in China's deadly MSS. Her CIA background has left her with difficulty trusting people, especially in romantic relationships. Her current assignment is to work with McKay-Taggart to investigate and protect actor Joshua Hunt, who's supposed to meet with a Mexican businessman (and drug lord) when shooting his new movie in Mexico. Joshua also has difficulty trusting anyone, which is why he has a strict contractual relationship with his bodyguard/submissive Kayla -- even if they're both feeling more than that.

Lexi Blake goes back to the twisty world of McKay Taggart Investigations and the CIA in the fifteenth Masters and Mercenaries novel. And boy, does this novel take some twists and turns. I don't want to give too much away, but I didn't see the revelations near the end of the book coming. Joshua can be an ass sometimes, but when necessary, he's willing to do anything for Kayla, and she's willing to risk everything to tell him the truth and keep him safe.

Yay finally Kayal's story I just love this crazy chick she is beyond badass and seriously perfect to keep a Hollywood movie star Dom in line...lol
Joshua Hunt is the movie star of most woman's dreams but when his past keeps coming back to blackmail him and it all becomes more of a sh.t show than we could have imagined thank goodness he has Kayla and Mackay Taggert backing him...

I love Kayla's protectiveness, her blood thirst and her bubbly smile she is just awesome, I laughed, I cried and I punched a few pillows in the name of sisterhood lol this book was worth the wait.

Omg. I'm so happy shocked right now. I did not see that one coming. I have to go back and get 13 & 14. Somehow I missed those.
I think this narrator is the only narrator I enjoy listening to that does both the male and female parts within a book that has Dual POV. Ordinarily I like the male and female to be different people. This guy does a fantastic job though. I just have to add go read Lexi's Nights in Bliss, Colorado series. You'll thank me for it later.

It was nice to get more connection between the Taggert employees and the Bliss, CO people. I love so much that we got to see Henry in all of his spy glory! :) And any time Ian is in a book, it's my favorite. I feel like we've been following Kayla around for a long time, so it was great to finally have her get her own book and I can't wait to find out what's going on with the "lost boys" in upcoming books. Them in Bliss is going to be the best!!! I can't wait for Tucker's book!

Reasons this book is great:
1. Asian American heroine who is badass!
2. A complex and tangled relationship of BDSM elements mixed in with secrets and hidden pasts.
3. A bit of subterfuge on Kayla's part as to her ulterior motives. Its nice that the woman has the upper hand in this game of spies because they are usually the 'unwitting' player.
4. Complex, multi-layered plot that goes beyond just the sex and relationship!

Josh was not my favorite hero. He was a bit quick to jump to the worst possible conclusion. It was kind of annoying. That was my biggest issue with the story overall!

I truly wish i had read all of the previous books in the Master & Mercenaries series before this one. I hadn't had the chance to read them all, only reading a few here and there, and even though i could easily read this book without knowing too much on the history of the McKay-Taggart business, in a way, i wish i knew it all. It would have give me more of a sense of knowing who is who in the story. There were so many characters that i'm positive that we either have had or will have their stories, and my trying to figure that one out was a bit distracting.

That didn't, however, take away anything from this story at all. It was edgy and takes readers to BDSM clubs and the seedy side of big companies that refuse to tell their operatives the full truth on why they were assigned specific missions. It was captivating in the sense that i was curious to find out whether or not Kayla and Josh would make it in the long run. They seemed so well suited for one another; both with secrets of their own but when they were together, none of it mattered.

I remember reading a book by A. Zanetti a few months ago and there was a reference to Lexi Blake and lo and behold, reading Nobody Does It Better and we get a Zanetti reference!! That part was epic for me... no matter my small hangups from this book, it doesn't take away the fact that it was a very good book that managed to make me dive right back into the McKay-Taggart world and want to read more from this series and even start from the beginning.

I’m a huge fan of Lexi Blake’s Masters and Mercenaries series; there’s something so raw…so primal…so intriguing…so sexy about the world Blake created and the heroes and heroines who lay their hearts, their bodies, and even their lives on the line for their job…for their friends…for a chance at love.

Blake’s newest release in the series, Nobody Does It Better, is the perfect blend of high intensity situations, passionate encounters, and startling revelations, and because there are multiple players with their own agendas when it comes to this Hollywood heartthrob and his submissive/body guard, it’s never clear whose side each person is on and what secrets might end up costing the contracted couple everything.

In the game of espionage, Kayla Summers knows her role and she has handled her double-agent status with expertise and precision even though, initially, she was thrown to the wolves and pushed to make it on her own. Living her life as a spy, Kayla has had to commit heinous crimes and endure hellish circumstances all in the name of justice. As one of the original members of the McKay-Taggart team, there’s not much she hasn’t experienced or helped other members trudge through, but her newest assignment is unlike any she’s ever encountered and by the time the mission is over, it’s unclear if her heart, her body, and her mind will be left in one piece, especially when she can’t help but want to give herself completely over to her client…her Dom…her lover. It’s a dangerous line Kayla is walking when it comes to Joshua Hunt because while he only shows the world his wealthy, regal, and indifferent movie star facade, Kayla sees beneath the acting…beneath the cold exterior, and while it only complicates matters more, she can’t help but want to save him, not only from a past that won’t let him go but also from himself and the scars he can’t seem to heal.

It would be so easy to not like Josh Hunt. He comes off as a very controlled and even tempered man - one who must have absolute say in every aspect of his life and one who has a clear vision as to the role a submissive will play in his life and in his dungeon, protecting and serving his every wile without getting much in return. But because Kayla is skilled when it comes to reading people, readers acquire the necessary insights about all that weighs Josh down and the reasons behind his cold veneer, so because Kayla is patient with Josh, not allowing him to treat her indifferently but also knowing when to back off and give him space, readers can only hope that these two will figure out exactly what they mean to each other and exactly what they can give and take from one another that will allow them to leave some of their past behind in order to move forward together.

Kayla and Josh’s story is not a straight-forward romance, not only because the couple seems to be deceiving one another from the start, but also because there is more to this mission than even Kayla knows and those in control are only willing to reveal small bits of intel at a time. Romantic suspense stories are some of my favorite because there’s a heightened awareness of what’s at stake and both the hero and heroine seem hellbent on doing what needs to be done to protect those they love, even if it means risking their own lives in the process. As I headed towards the climax and falling action of Nobody Does It Better, I found myself reevaluating my observations and hypotheses and hustling to put all the details together in order to solve the mysteries before they were revealed, and while I can say that I honestly didn’t see some things coming, in the grand scheme of things, because Lexi Blake allowed me multiple perspectives and insights the deeper Kayla and Josh got with one another, watching everything play out was one hell of an exciting and wild ride.

It’s no secret I love Lexi Blake, I find her books phenomenal, and her storylines always draw me right in. I’m not sure this book quite stands up to her others – don’t get me wrong – Nobody Does It Better was still fascinating and well-constructed, I just didn’t feel the same connection I usually do with her books.

Nobody Does It Better is the fifteenth and final book in Lexi Blake’s Masters & Mercenaries series. There will be a spin-off series and this book set up the premise of that series wonderfully. All the books in the Masters & Mercenaries series can be read as stand-alones, but some storylines continue throughout the series and knowledge of them is helpful. I’ve not read all the books, and there were times I wished I had all the information from the previous books. Nobody Does It Better is written in third person limited perspective, alternating between Kayla and Joshua’s viewpoints.

I always find arranged relationships fascinating. The idea of committing to a relationship – and a person – without first exploring the chemistry and dynamics at play with your partner captivates me. It’s even better when the chemistry between those people is immediate and intense like it was for Kay and Josh. I could nearly feel the current between them myself, that’s how well Ms. Blake conveyed her characters' attraction to one another.

Josh, while icy on the surface, was a wonderfully sympathetic character. Between the tiny glimpse of his past, we got in the prologue and the hints of what his past had been like; his pain was palpable. Once we got to know him, it was easy to forgive the crueler things he thought, said, and did in light of his past. Kay surprised me; I wasn’t expecting her optimism. I had assumed it was a persona she’d taken on, but as the story went on it became obvious she was very good at compartmentalizing her work like from her real life. She was an engrossing creature, and I kind of loved her for her quirkiness.

Several storylines were converging in Nobody Does It Better, most of them introduced in this novel, but at least one was introduced farther back in the series. It could have been too much, too many moving parts to keep track of, but somehow, I never felt like there was an overload, each moving part was laid out in such a way there was an ease to putting that part of the puzzle exactly where it belonged. To the point, I had almost riddled the entire thing out before the reveal was completely laid out.

The only thing I wish for Nobody Does It Better was that it had that IT factor; the book just didn’t have the same magic that her other books do. It’s one of those unquantifiable things, a feeling more than anything else, and I missed it.

Lexi Blake writes romantic suspense like few others. She’s able to make you care for her characters, even while they’re doing and saying things you don’t agree with and wraps you up so tightly in her storylines you can’t help but feel each moment like you are in the middle of all the action. I’ve loved each book in the Masters & Mercenaries series I’ve read and can’t wait to go back and fill in the blanks on the ones I’ve missed; I’m also eagerly anticipating the spinoff series.

Wow. Let me take a moment in my amazement that I read 15 books of this series. I have too many books in my TBR but yet I gravitate towards Masters and Mercenaries because Lexi Blake created an unbelievable and amazing world. It is only 4 years ago, I was reading the first book and introduced to all kinds of characters and exposed to the wonders of the spy world. And now we at the end of the series, I am overcome with emotion. Masters and Mercenaries made me feel special and gave me an escape to a universe filled with villains, action heroes and drop dead sexy heroines who clearly touched me. Behind the action, Masters and Mercenaries brought broody and dominant heroes love and happiness with their gorgeous and sassy submissives. This series slayed me. This series fired me up. This series gave me goosebumps. This series definitely blew me away. Masters and Mercenaries will forever remain my favourite all time series ever.

Nobody Does It Better is the last and final book in the Masters and Mercenaries and it definitely ended with a band. Such an incredible book with an equally engrossing storyline that grabbed my attention. This book is like crack and I gobbled it up. Just stunning. Nobody Does It Better totally compelled me. The steamy scenes. The brilliant and interesting characters. The fiery storyline. Nobody Does It Better was a fast paced charged book that made me so excited and deeply captured. Enveloping. Addictive suspense. Sweltering. Nobody Does It Better was a blazing hot story filled with pent up espionage and intrigue set in the glamorize life of a movie star and CIA operative. With angst and some hot BDSM hotness, Nobody Does It Better just definitely scorched my kindle. Lexi Blake created a wonderful ending to enigmatic series. She gives writing that sneaks up on you and just such you in and you are left breathless. Her writing is just excellent. However, I felt the storyline had a lot going on and it distracted me a bit.

In Nobody Does It Better, you will meet Kayla Summers and Joshua Hunt both with secrets and lies tangled up in an explosive drama. They had a chemistry and it was dang sexy. You really feel the power of domination and submission between the two. Kayla Summers is my kind of heroine. Seriously, would love to be friends. She is the cool and deadly assassin and operative but with a sunny and kind personality that you cannot help but love. With Joshua, I found it hard to warm up to him. He was not a likable character. But he had vulnerability that teared me up. He had a rough upbringing and I just wanted to give him a hug.

Nobody Does It Better gave a perfect ending to an unforgettable and tantalizing series. Seriously, you need to read series. 15 books are a lot but you will love it. I know the Masters and Mercenaries but we still have spin offs to look forward and some future books. I am truly excited. I cannot wait.

4.25-4.5 stars. I loved this book! I think this is my favorite Masters and Mercenaries book so far! This is Kayla and Joshua's story. Joshua is a famous movie actor in Hollywood. The CIA thinks that he may have ties to a cartel drug lord, where another agent who was undercover has gone missing, so they contract Kayla to go undercover in Josh's household. Josh is looking for a submissive who can double as a bodyguard and be part of his security team. Kayla is the perfect fit for him. At first, Josh wants a very structured, formal, contracted D/s relationship with Kayla, but her funny, sweet quirkiness has him falling for her (and she for him). But problems from Josh's childhood pop back up to threaten his present and his happiness. And when Kayla's cover is blown and Josh finds out he has been lied to, will Josh push Kayla away for good or can he forgive her so they can have a happy future together?

I already loved Kayla from her part in previous books in this series and I was not at all disappointed. I adored Kayla in this book. She was smart and funny, sweet and so sunshiningly happy, but still a dangerous badass when she needed to be. I have a major girl crush on her. She is the best heroine that I have read in a long while. I also loved that she is an avid reader who writes letters to her favorite authors. She wrote authors like Rebecca Zanetti and mentioned that Kristen Ashley has a restraining order on her. It was hilarious! I liked Josh too. He had been through so much in his life and really deserved the happiness he found with Kay. I definitely felt the love and connection between them. They were awesome together- sexy and sweet. I wanted a bit more resolution at the end of the book. The epilogue is only 12 hours into the future. I wanted a further jump ahead epilogue and a bit more happy times between the couple after the final conflict. Still, this was a really good book, full of Lexi Blake's trademark romantic suspense, action, adventure, love and friendship.

Overall, I loved this book and thought it was a great addition to this series! Nobody Does It Better is a nuanced, detailed romantic suspense full of sexy, funny and emotional awesomeness. I look forward to more from the Masters and Mercenaries and Lexi Blake in the future!

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is the fifteenth (!) book in the series, and really you need to read them all to understand a lot of the back story, and all the threads that are woven through this tale. Whilst there are pointers to remind someone who hasn't read one in a while, I am not sure that a newbie would really get the implications of everything that is in play. So, I definitely recommend that you jump in at book 1 and just keep going. The concept of using Bond titles is incredibly fitting, as the stories are the ultimate in unbelievable, but fascinating spy cross and double cross. And right to the end of this one I was trying to believe my gut feelings, but being led along another path. If you enjoy the franchise, then you will definitely enjoy how the espionage is convoluted, continues through the novels, and links with the BDSM seamlessly.

On the overall plot which has been working through all the books, I think that Ms Blake had an impossible task to make everything tidy at the end ... and in fact there are a few strings which will make good starts to offshot series in the future. But as much as was possible, I was convinced by the elements we are given access to, as being resolved.

The romance that features in this book starts as a fake, and yet Josh and Kay find a connection that they neither expected or can really accommodate in the plan that each had hatched. Whilst I am not usually a great fan of the inner voice, in this book it is essential, given the level of subterfuge and dissembling. Knowing that they were falling in love made the story a lot more poignant and I did have to stop reading a few times to catch my breath when things got extra tense.

Good, chunky, well paced and satisfying read, thank you Ms Blake.

Holy hotness! I just finished reading Nobody Does it Better by Lexi Blake and OMG! How shockingly delicious is it?! This is the first book I read by Lexi Blake and I found out that this is the FIFTEENTH book in her Masters and Mercenaries Series my jaw basically dropped. This means I have to read the other 14 books, plus the various novellas?

Also, How cheeky are the titles of this series?! I love puns and this series is just my cup of tea. Fair warning, though, this series has BDSM and this is an erotic romance. I don't normally read books with BDSM but wow! I love the mix of suspense and romance in Nobody Does it Better and it honestly did not turn me off the book at all.

As someone who came in on the fifteenth book of the series, I did not have a lot of issues. There are some characters from other books that pop in and out but I didn't have the feels because I never knew about their own HEA. But I know this will change soon!

Let's discuss the book! Basically, this book has a submissive bodyguard with a hot and famous Hollywood actor! Oh, how delish! I was not prepared for the sexiness and of course, the action! And the plot twists in the end? I was not expecting that!

I recommend Nobody Does it Better by Lexi Blake. Despite not reading the other books in the series, I did not have any problems following through. You can definitely jump in and not lose the plot. This review first appread on I Heart Romance & YA

It's hard to believe that this is the 15th book in this series. This being the last book of the main characters in the Masters and Mercenaries series does not disappoint.  I have been a fan of Lexi Blake's for a long time and she always manages to put in a little surprise that makes each book special.

Nobody Does It Better is Kayla's and Josh's story.  I love the fact that Kayla is the bodyguard.  She has an interesting background and ties to an old friend that we met in another series. She is definitely torn between duty and heart.  This is one of the things that makes her so endearing.  I also love the fact that Kayla is a little like Ian.  She has the smart banter mixed with heart and a little bit of a tortured soul.

Josh is a man who has many scars.  I don't think he knows if he can be brave or trust his heart enough to love. But he has dangerous people after him so the best way to defend him would be to have someone who is always close to him, like a girlfriend who can kick ass.

This story had so many levels to it.  From Kayla's reasons for joining the CIA to Josh's secret and reason for being blackmailed, this story had my emotions all over the place.  Lexi manages to inject so much humour into their story lines that has you laughing one minute to crying the next.  I also love past characters coming back to help lend their wisdom.

I love this series and am sad that this will be the last book for the main Masters and Mercenaries but there will be another spin off that sounds like we are in for a treat.

5 double crossed stars for NOBODY DOES IT BETTER!

Kayla Summers spent years as a double agent, impersonating her twin sister in China. Now she's out, and while she's looking forward to her new role with McKay-Taggart, her new job posing as bodyguard and submissive to actor Joshua Hunt, she's less than pumped about using that role to infiltrate the Jalisco Cartel. Josh hasn't always been Hollywood's golden boy. In fact, his past is darker than he'd ever admit to anyone, even his best friend. He's drawn to Kayla, sees the same sort of darkness in her, but he's got to keep up that hard earned control he's known for, especially when someone evil from his past resurfaces every few months. They're both lying to one another, but when all the cards are on the table, will there be anything left to salvage?

NOBODY DOES IT BETTER, book 15 in Ms. Blake's Masters & Mercenaries series, started off in the midst of a whirlwind before slowing down for us mortals to take a breath! Ms. Blake, NOBODY DOES IT BETTER than you when you're turning the McKay-Taggart world upside down. Even when the characters aren't necessarily BFF's with the original, you've created this very cool world that's fun to explore. This book was wildly erotic, with some serious spanky spanky time in there, surrounded by excellent romantic suspense. I love Kayla's character…she's fierce, sweet and funny, and honestly, I'm not sure Josh deserves her! He was a royal douchenozzle to her 80% of the time, but when he finally let his guard down and fell for her, they were a delicious couple. I am frothing at the mouth to get my hands on the Lost Boys stories, coming up soon!

Bottom Line: No OM/OW or sharing; some condom use; mild BDSM/kink; no sexual assault; lots of violence, torture and murder.

I'll admit it, by the end of this book I was a sobbing mess. I cried sad tears, I cried mad tears, and I choked up crying happy tears. These weren't all for the same people, at the same time, but once I started, they just kept coming. I was also so proud, so proud and happy how this part of the MT world, how the MM series, wraps up, and sets up, for the new world. See, I tapped into this series right after book 2, and to have those original three there, here, and see how far they've come, perfect. For Ian, to still be sarcastic, but so much more mature and centered; For Alex to have all he ever wanted, and all Eve had ever dreamed of for them; For Adam to be the original thorn in Ian's side, the "a**hold brother I never, ever, wanted and would like to give back" and for it all to fit together, all, just perfect

So, this book made me have all the feels, I was all over the board, and it all bounces and crashes into and around Josh and Kayla. There are so many curves, that it is hard to say what happens to them, but know that they both are hurt. They both realize what they know, what they have based their thoughts and actions on for so long, isn't what their lives really are. They do let a lot go, and they do turn to each other, even when they don't want to. Josh is darkness and Kayla is light, yet, when they other needs it, they absorb the world or light the way

In the end, Kayla and Josh fall in love with each other. Being in love, and letting that love flow from their heart and soul, it warms them in a way nothing else ever can. This is a love story, pure and simple, with a whole lot of spy stuff going on around our couple that is perfect for each other!
