Adam Walker was undercover in an organization that was ran by one of the biggest drug kingpins. When one of his own betrays him and leaks the information to the head of the organization, Adam finds himself a prisoner and is tortured for several days.
When Veronica Miles stumbles upon information regarding Adam's capture, she reaches out to one of her contacts at Fortress Security with everything she knows. They come up with a plan to rescue him and bring him home. But with everything that Adam endured, it's going to take a while to recover.
Through mutual acquaintances, both Adam and Vonnie have kept up with the others progress over the last year. Although they have never met, and neither of them know the other has been keeping tabs, they have grown to care for each other from afar. So when word spread that Vonnie was in trouble, Adam jumped at the opportunity rescue her. After all, if it wasn't for her, he would be dead.
Once Vonnie is rescued and returns home to the US, they discover that her mentor had been killed in a car accident. Vonnie doesn't believe it was an accident. When emails start coming in incriminating her as a traitor, she knows that she's being setup but by who and why?
If Vonnie is going to uncover the truth, she'll need the help of Adam and his friends at Fortress Security. As they work together to bring down the person responsible for everything, Adam and Vonnie get to know one and another and grow closer together. It isn't long before their feelings turn into something more. But when an enemy from the past resurfaces, they know they will need to bring them down before they can look to the future and their HEA.

Guys! Can I just tell you how much I enjoyed Adam and Vonnie's book?! It was fast paced and sucked me in from the beginning. I loved seeing Adam get his HEA. If anyone deserved it.. it was him. I loved seeing characters from the previous books working together. They really are family. I can't wait to start Jake's book!
Ms. Deel is an amazing storyteller! I know that once I start one of her books, I'll be sucked in and will not get one thing done until I finish the book. I am so glad I found! There's just something about finding new authors you adore! I can't wait to read more by her!

Fantastic and fast-paced Romantic suspense!
Loved this book! I was completely hooked from the first page, and had a hard time putting it down ever since.
I loved our two main characters, Adam and Veronica. Each has been through a lot and yet they rose above their situations to protect each other and other operatives. The suspense and black ops adventure was phenomenal, and the romance was the perfect compliment to it all.
As usual with this series, I loved seeing former characters, and reading the comical dialogue between characters helped alleviate the constant threat of danger and suspense.
Can’t wait to read more, and this is one I will definitely be reading again!

Adam's turn!
I am so glad that Adam got his turn for a HEA. Another great story, with lots of action and lots of recurring characters from past books! And the special surprise from Zane and Claire was a great addition to the plot. Love this one as much as the others. It's going on my read again list.

Loved it!
I always wondered what was going on with Adam. Veronica and her rescue was great mission. What a fantastically twisted plot. I loved it and it made great sense as it came to a conclusion. It will be interesting to see what happens next at Fortress! Love Rebecca Deel and her books. Otter creek series is just as good. I want to hear more about Veronicas brother and for Adam to visit her parents!!!! Come on we need to know! Looking forward to what comes next. Write on!

You really can't go wrong with this series. I have loved Adam since he was first introduced, and Veronica is the perfect match for him. I love strong and capable heroines, and Veronica can more then hold her own with the Fortress crew. A great romance with an engaging plot... you really can't ask for more! Now I will be eagerly awaiting the next installment!

I love this story of Adam and Vonnie. Adam needed a kick butt woman who can be a great team member too. They remind me of Remy and Lily. I am very excited for your next book.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this latest addition to the series - I actually think it could be one of my favourites. We meet back up with Adam Walker, Claire's brother, and meet the contact who helped save him and she's tough, like Stella and Lily tough. Loved it.

I absolutely love this series and Adam is my favorite character. He is intense and passionate about everything, including his new love. The story was very suspenseful and the romance interwoven just perfect. I'm so happy that he found his HEA.

Another great story. I have enjoyed all of this author's books. The story flows without bogging down, and has lots of action. I just wish Adam had been able to "talk" to Vonnie's dad. Think I'm going to have to start back with the first book, and read through again.

Another good book by Rebecca Deel
Adam and Vonnie are two tough cookies. Even though it's a fact of life, I hate hearing how bad some children have it. These books always give hope and show there are people who fight for them and how strong the survivors are.

Loved the novel
I loved this novel mostly because i love strong women characters. And, Ms Deel has put them all together so very well. Story is obviously strong enough to hold interest till end. I am moving on to her other novels now.

This was a fantastic read. With lots of action, mystery and suspense, this book is was difficult to put down. Loved the characters and the dynamic between the teams too. Def recommend!

I love this series!
We met Adam in previous books, firstly when he was rescued after being kept captive and he was a shattered, broken shell both physically and mentally. We have since seen him gradually rebuild himself and as he has slowly revealed more and more of himself he has slowly stolen more and more of our hearts.
In this book he quickly steals the last pieces of our heart, he has fought his way back to full fitness and is now ready to lead his own team - the last thing he expects is to have to lead a team in to rescue the DEA agent who saved him......the woman he owes his life to.
Vonnie has kept tabs on Adam since she helped locate him but when she is taken captive and tortured, the last person she expects to come sweeping in to rescue her is Adam. Although this is the first time they actually meet, there is an instant bond, sparks that cannot be denied or resisted however to stay alive they need to keep the sparks under control and work together to finally destroy the enemy that has targeted them both. Together they will have to face their worst fears and tackle their demons, although they will of course have the back up Fortress and Adam's new team! Can you guess who they are?

A "Resurgence" of interest - YES!!! Now this is how a well written, action packed, romance book is written! My interest in this series (as well as Otter Creek) was starting to wan due to the endearments the characters were CONSTANTLY calling each other. It got to the point of being ridiculous. But Mrs. Deel greatly diminished those in this book and I was thrilled to focus entirely on Adam and Veronica's story, which held my attention until the wee hours of the morning. Especially Adam and Veronica's first kissing scene.....WHEW!!! My tablet almost melted from the heat between them! :-) More of those scenes...PLEASE! I'm once again hooked, and look forward to many, many more books.

I LOVE this series and the Otter Creek series. Each book has wonderful characters who are strong, loyal, fearless, and loving, and the stories always have excitement and a love story. This is Adam and Veronica's story. Another wonderful, enjoyable book.
