Excellent insight into the machinations of being a singer-songwriter signed by a label. Things are not always as good as we thought they were going to be. Great characterizations. This reader could really `feel`` the turmoil the main male character`s emotions are in. He has a lot of depth and is just starting to let us in to see who he really is besides his stage persona. The main female character has some self-esteem issues that rose up from bullying in school. There are a number of sub-plots being enacted simultaneously while we watch a romance develop between the two main characters. Excellent story to this point and very well done on the cliff hanger. Arghh.... have to hurry and read the next book! :)

Jasper is the lead singer of Jasper and the Weeds he tries to keep up a bad boy image although he’s not really a bad boy.
His GF posts explicit photos on his social media which leads to him losing sponsors and a PR firm is called in to try control the damage. Hailey Finch is your typical girl next door sweet and innocent but when she meets Jasper they both have feelings they don’t understand .
I really enjoyed listening to this although it’s only just over 3 hours it packs everything in and you are not left feeling you don’t have answers. Listening to book 2 as I write this and enjoying that as well.

Rock star romances are one of my favorite genres and this start to the Managed series has me already falling in love. We previously met Jasper in the Entertainment with Jem series. He is the lead singer for the band Weeds, and is falling to bad publicity. Hailey works in public relations and has been assigned to help Jasper fix his image. But what will she be able to without falling for him? Jasper is a great character because he isn't satisfied. I know, sounds terrible, but he knows what he expects out of life, and where he is with his band is not what he wants. Hailey sees Jasper for who he is an not the rock star and for him this is refreshing. Hailey is just as much fun for me because she lacks confidence in herself when she is really an awesome person. Will these two find their way to love? Or is the public in their way? The cliffhanger for this installment is a tough one, be ready to load book 2!
Laurie West is fast becoming one of my favorites. Her voice for the characters is spot on and she can do an accent with ease! I am enjoying her portrayal of these characters, and love when we had the cameo from Jemma that she kept her voices consistent throughout both series!! Time for book 2 and more fun from Clarissa Carlyle and Laurie West!

Big rock star and not making the best choices. His record label has had enough. But deep down Jasper really isn't happy. He cannot play the music that he wants. Only the music his label tells him to play. It was so much easier playing in the dive bars. Fame and money are great but at what cost? People would trade places with him in a minute but then again when they see what he has to give up would they do it?
Hailey is the PR person whose job is to make all the bad publicity go away. Two minutes in his presence and she sees that what he shows the public is not the person he truly is. But he is afraid to let the public "see" him. He has written songs for his own personal collection and does not want to share them. It's not what the label is allowing him to play for his fans.
He does things for the less fortunate but does it anonymously. When he and Hailey go to plant flowers with the children as soon as he sees the media he leaves even though he was enjoying himself. It's as if he doesn't want people to know the good that he does. But Hailey sees the good in him and does her best to let others as well.
I didn't realize that this would be a cliffhanger but it is such an amazing story. I just hope that I don't have to wait too long for book 2.

Jasper, needs to clean up his image, his sponsors are dropping him. and the label is losing money. The public relations firm, the Big Deal, was hired to help. Hailey Finch was lucky enough to win this major account, by picking the right solo cup!
Jasper was intrigued by her different ideas by thinking outside the norm for publicity. Also having Jemma interview him on her blog to clear up a situation with Tara. The more Hailey is with him, the more she gets to know the real Jasper, There is an instant connection between them. Hailey's mantra is can't fall my client, can't fall for my client. But her heart is telling her otherwise. This is the first book in this amazing series.

First of all I would like to thank the author for sending me a copy of this book.
I really enjoyed this first part of the story. I'm a sucker for these rock star romances. I loved how different they were. I liked Tara because she was nothing like most girls and she took pride in that. I thought it was cool that Jasper wasn't anything like you would expect. However, it sucked that he had to hide it. I'm definitely looking forward to reading the next part of their story.

I received an ARC of this book for my honest review.
This is the first book from this author that I have read and really loved it. It was a fast paced, fun and refreshing story. It is a cliff hanger which I didn't know when I started the book but I did enjoy it from the first page till the last. I am looking forward to the next one. I had a lot of fun reading this book.

I didn't have much expectations when I started to listen this audiobook, but I'm glad to be wrong! The story itself is not mindblowing, but it's cute and solid, with a lot of heart. I like the way their relationship progressed and, how they meet and how they get together, it was believable and heart wrenching sometimes.
Laurie West is a great voice actress. I usually have a hard time imagining a guy when a female actress is doing it, but Laurie West pull it off beautifully!

I have a bad feeling where this journey is going to be honest – I liked the Blurb and started reading but already during the first pages I got the feeling that I would be having an issue here.
The characters were lacking depth and were simply acting immature (to be honest they were acting simply stupid) the dialogues were on the level of High School and so predictable that it almost hurt.
But I was thinking I will finish this because at some point this will have to get better – right ? – now the book is finished and I am not so sure – I think the only reason I finished this book was because it was so short …BUT I will try the second one before my final vote …

I received this audiobook free for an honest review. This author does a great job of telling a story and making the characters come to life. Hailey has a daunting task to clean up a Rock Star's image. Jasper's image is far different from his real character. A relationship between Hailey and her client, Jasper, is not allowed in her PR position. In comes many temptations for both of them. Those temptations put a wedge between them. Looking forward to the next book. The narrator does a great job with the individual personalities of the characters.

Jasper is trying to get his reputation fixed after racy pictures are posted on his social media. Hailey is the PR person who is going to manage him and fix his reputation. It’s been a while since I have read anything by Clarissa Carlyle, she is such a talented author and I always know that as soon as I start reading anything by her that I will just fall in love with it. She never disappoints and I will always recommend her books to anyone that hasn’t read her work. Clarissa is one of the very first authors that I actually started reading her work when I first became a blogger and with every book that I have read of hers she hasn’t disappointed me, her talent for writing has just gotten stronger. This book has some characters from a previous series that Clarissa already has out, so you will see a few characters from the *Entertainment With Jemma* series. I love how Clarissa has done this book as in a way whilst you know that this isn’t real life it does have some aspects of real life and some of the pressures/situations that celebrities actually go through. I seriously am looking forward as to seeing how the rest of this series will plan out, as honestly, it’s pretty incredible so far.
Jasper is a famous musician, he is famous, has a pretty huge following, playing music with his band and can pretty much have everything that he wants. You would think that he was living the dream, however, that’s not the case. He hates having to sing cheesy songs that his record label writes for him and his band, hates the fact that there is so many crazy fans/girls. And most of all he puts on an act as a bad boy so that no one can see the real him. For me personally, I feel bad for him, as he went from having not many people knowing who he and his band was to having everyone know who he is, where he is and what he’s doing. For him personally things kicked off way too fast and pretty much spiralled out of control. If that would have happened to me then I can understand why he hates living the famous life. It’s not an easy task, but everything wasn’t too bad and he could handle everything until one night after a gig when everything changed for him. Which is how Hailey is brought into Jasper’s life.

Jasper is the lead singer of the rock band Weeds; sex symbol, man-whore, sell-out. Hailey is a low level PR assistant; a sweet, smart girl, but lacking in self-confidence. Hailey is assigned to restore his public image after disasterous publicity damages Jasper's brand and hurts his career. She has her work cut out for her. At first glance, they have little in common, but Hailey senses the real Jasper underneath his bad-boy rock persona. He feels more himself when with her. They spend time together as she rehabs his image and they connect. Jasper's creativity resurfaces as he also re-evaluates what he really wants. Unfortunately, their individual insecurities interfere.
This series has potential, but it has a way to go. I want more depth. The story is not original. It could be ripped from the daily entertainment news, so it needs to rely on scene and character development. It had nice moments. The day spent together, the dinner; this was a nice start. It needed more. And the characters needed more depth. We know they have insecurities and we know why. Up the angst. Neither was particularly likable, so you need to make them more sympathetic. Hailey was too much of a doormat and Jasper was just too much of a jerk. His mean streak and his vulgar behavior did not endear him to me. Make us feel compassion for them, not annoyance. We need to know their pain. The side characters were also not very likable; a best friend that always leaves you for a guy, a date who wants to use you, a horrid reality starlet, and bandmates who encourage the worst from you. Jasper's driver Carl was my favorite character in the story.
The ending was a surprise. It did up the drama. The cliffhanger did leave me wanting to know what happens next. I want more from the guy who writes emotional lyrics and calls Hailey "little bird" and I would like for the girl to remember her beloved grandmother in a more appropriate way. I want them both to come into their own as individuals and maybe as a couple.

Mediocre writing. Writing was matter matter of fact. Very little feeling. Did not read smoothly - amateurish.
Rock star's "girlfriend" takes pictures of them naked and shares them on social media. Jasper hires the PR group that heroine works at to help him with his image since he is losing sponsors, etc.
This could have been a great story, but it did not work for me. The hero says he does not want to show others his true side, but then he talks about how he showed Tara his side and then there is this "thing" with blogger, Gemma, supposedly the "one that got away". Gemma and he went on a date but she was in love with someone else so it did not go much further than that with him and her. I don't want to hear how the hero had a strong interest for another sweet woman. I was unable to connect hearing how the hero, Jasper, took another woman certain places that were special to him, but that she appeared bored so he did not really pursue it. Jasper's feelings felt all over the place.
You may love it. Reading is subjective.

Having to sing songs that only his record label lets him sing and having to have a public persona that is nothing like the man underneath becomes wearing. To top things off his publicity hungry ex-girlfriend has posted their entire relationship on social media.
Hailey has been assigned to clean up Jasper’s image through her employer. She was raised by her grandmother and dresses like she did but underneath is a woman who wants to help others, is a little naive and wants to succeed in her career.
Although he tries to keep her at a distance she starts to sneak around the walls that he has built around himself but will he let her know the real him? The performance of the narrator draws you in and has you invested in the characters and the story.

So this is the beginning of a new series so you know that the book will end with a cliffhanger, or at least more questions then answers.
Jasper Daly is the lead singer in a rock band and he has let his rock band persona get out of hand. He is losing sponsors and his record label is not happy, enter Hailey Finch a PR executive who is trying to get a promotion. If she can help Jasper she may be able to move up in the business and not live paycheck to paycheck.
So here are the twist Jasper is only being the bad boy rocker because he thinks that is what people want from him. When an ex takes it to far he begins to question everything. HE switches personas from bad boy rocker to sweet guy regularly and I must say when he is in jerk mode he is not very likable.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book and I was hooked up in the story right away. Jasper Daly seems to be a badass rockstar who needs help to get his good reputation back after his ex-girlfriend took over his IG account and posted inappropirate sex pics. That's when Hailey show up and help him with his social media. Jasper takes Hailey to places he likes in NY to make her see that he's not the bad rocker everyone thinks he is and Hailey often sees right through the role he's playing. I really didn't like the cliffhanger ending but the next book should be out soonish and I can't wait to find out more about Jasper and Hailey.

I could imagine this being a book that would be perfect as a holiday read.
When I first saw the cover I thought this was going to be a very racy, steamy read.
Don't judge this book by the cover.....there is so much more to this book than what the cover implies. A good storyline and good characters, with more depth than just folk with pretty faces and a hot bodies. No spoilers given here but I'm definitely twitchy with impatience waiting for book 2 to come out !!
A really strong start to a series full of promise if this is the benchmark.

This is the first in a series and the cliffhanger differently makes you want to read the next book. The book is about Jasper, the rock star, and Hailey, the PR lady. The two of them have a stark when they first meet. It’s Hailey’s job to put Jasper’s image back to the good after a one night stand costed him a lot. The one night stand with Tara wasn’t what he expected when she posts pictures of them doing the nasty. So as Hailey is trying to repair his reputation she’s having feelings for him as well.

This is my first Clarissa Carlyle book I have read and I really enjoyed her style of writing. The story ended on a cliff hanger so I will be eagerly awaiting the next part of this Rock Star story. You do not want to like the Rock Star Jasper and his bad boy life style but as you read you start to change your opinion of him and see the real person behind the Rock Star band life.

***I voluntarily read this ARC to give an honest review***A great read! Jasper, lead singer and writer for the group "Weeds" hooks up with a paparazzi whore, Tara who will do anything to be in the world media! She posts pictures of them having sex and nude! This causes him to start losing sponsorships! He hires a PR company that puts Hailey on his case! She's different than any girl he's been around! He hurts her feelings and runs after and doesn't see the cab coming! Cliffhanger!!!!!

You could not have a bad boy rock star and not have a scandal. This rock star is in the middle of a doosey. His PR rep is going to do every she can to clean up his image.
Sparks fly, and work starts to become personal, but this is PR rep that not going to mix work with pleasure.
This is the beginning of a very sweet romance. A great story with a gripping cliffhanger for an ending.

This is my first Clarissa Carlyle book, but not my last by any means. This book is a really good start to a new rock star series and I am so happy to be able to read it from the very beginning. Yes, this book does end on a cliffhanger but those don't really bother me as long as the characters and plot of the story are flowing well. And this book does all that. I am excited to read book 2 and see where this all goes. I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review.

How to clean up Jasper, a bad boy rocker, in 10 days???...I made up the 10 ;-) ... Is it even possible? Hailey needs to try if she wants to be taken seriously and earn a promotion! But Jasper is making it difficult to say the least.
Great start to the new series and the edgie cliffhanger will definitely make you want to come back for more!

more a novella than a novel
I enjoyed reading Managed 1 although it didn't hold me completely. I kept having moments of thinking I was reading Harry Styles fan fic. There was just something that didnt work for me. However it's well written and haa a good writing structure. Nice characters but more a novella than a novel.

I love how this story is more about how famous people are just like everyday people. It's sweet reading about two people who are so similar in personality and they don't seem to realize it. This is a really great quick read and I can't wait to find out more between Jasper and Hailey especially after that ending.

So... this finishes on a cliff-hanger. So far this author has a fair amount of taken but no editing skills. Character starts the scene in wearing one outfit and ends it in another. There are no marker for time of day or night that a scene plays out and the layout is so odd. Let’s see whether anything has been learnt by book 2

Jasper is a singing star that has problems with an ex. Hailey is a shy PR representative trying to help him. This is a wonderful story and I can't wait for the story to continue. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
