Brogan Taggert, a wolf shifter and town playboy has his entire world upended when he meets his mate. Brogan Taggert, a wolf shifter and town playboy's entire world is upended. Not only is he a man, but he's also in Hell... Literally.
Jericho, a six hundred year old demon was dragged to Hell after helping the town of Blue Creek banish a necromancer. Each day he's tortured and all he can do is call out to his mate and say I'm sorry.
They say the road to Hell is laid with good intentions. It's time for Brogan to find out if the old adage is true. Can they rescue Jericho and have their happily ever after?
Never been into reading M/M, but the ones I have, have been very good and entertaining like this one.
Brogan has been dead set on somehow helping get the demon who helped him when he was in need, because of that the half demon had been pulled into hell. He has always been a ladies man, but his friends are starting to suspect that Brogan may be the Demon Jericho's mate...Brogan swears this can't be, but as time passes even he is feeling the mate pull of the Demon and is more determined than ever to get him out of hell if that's what it takes. Now going into the bowels of hell he knows without a doubt that he wants Jericho in his life. Will Brogan and his friends Rook and West avoid all the tricks in hell and succeed in rescuing Jericho before the portal closes?
Lots of laughs as these three Amigos face their worst fears in hell.
I was so sure that I would enjoy this book but... The core idea was OK but its potential was ruined by poor execution. The writing was simplistic and immature. It reminded me of fan fictions/fictions written by preteens and younger teens. The pacing was unbalanced and there were a lot of fillers. The most annoying example is when demons in hell stop speaking English and babel a whole paragraph in gibberish followed by the translation. So why would demons speak English in Hell any way and if they did, wouldn't have a simple 'he said in demon tongue' been sufficient??? There are moments when time seems to stop, so the characters can have long conversations and then keeps flowing again!!!! The conflict resolution is presented in a simple manner equal to conflict resolution in picture books. Things happen because the author says so. And finally there were two characters with almost identical names, which I found rather confusing.
I was really disappointed in this after reading Check Mate, the other book the author has written in this Kindle Worlds series. You really MUST read Check Mate before this one since it introduces all the main and secondary characters in this book and explains how Jericho wound up in Hell in the first place. Unlike Rook and West in Check Mates, these prospective mates don't get to interact at all other than a few urgent messages from Jericho in Hell. Instead, all the bonding and warm (to the point of being really sappy a few time)interaction takes place between Brogan and his friends, couple Rook and West. As a matter of fact we only get Jericho back at the very end of the book and then get what amounts to half a sex scene for their mating. On the plus side, there were flashes of humor that made me chuckle. On the down side, the proofing was really bad. I also thought that Hell seemed pretty wimpy. I have only read the one other book by this author, so I don't know which is more typical of her work. I would give her a try again but find this book only ranks somewhere between an okay and a like for me.
I absolutely loved this book! While this book is a standalone, I highly recommend you consider reading Sheri Lyn's Check Mate, Gracen Miller's Kissing Sassy and Sassy Vigilante as well as Cassidy K. O'Connor's In my Mate's Sight.
If you've read the previous books as mentioned above then you have been waiting for these authors to finally give Brogan and Jericho their HEA! I know I have been!
**"You know all those couples that say they would go to Hell and back for their partner. You can say "been there got the t-shirt", when this is over."**
Brogan knew there was something different about Jericho from the minute he laid eyes on the half-demon. But his confusing feelings kept him from responding to the man's flirting, and now he's back in Hell being tortured for helping the pack.
**"I don't want to be in here any longer than I have too, but I'm telling you now, if there's a room full of balloons, I'm outta here."**
Brogan will have to put all his mixed feelings aside, to rescue the man that fate has given him.
If you are looking for a book has a bit of romance with a lot of humor this is the book for you!
Wow! This book was poetic as f***, throughout the whole story the emotions were raw. From apprehension to sadness I wasn't expecting that from this book at all. It was pleasant.
Brogan; when I first met him in check mate in adored him! I thought he he an interesting character to get to know. Flirty, funny and a man that looked like he wouldn't take much seriously. But oh was I proven wrong his determination to find and rescue his mate made me not want to stop reading. Loved him
Jericho; didn't get to know much of him but the was a fighter and a lover. The things he had to endure just because of who he was is insane. But I am glad he got his happy ending.
Awesome book a must read, you'll laugh you'll feel bad for them but it be worth your while.
this was amazing.. i freakin loved it.. brogan is amazing.. i love love love his best friends who choose to go to hell with him to get out his mate.. his mate is sexy as hell and i cannot wait to see what happens with a wolf and a demon.. my only gripe is its too short.. i need soo much more lol.. but i knew it was short going into it so it wasnt a shock haha.. plus so many parts made me laugh and smile.. i love that these two had to get to know each other through other means then sex.. they love before they have sex and thats a fun thing for mate that we dont see often. i loved it and im glad i got to review it
When I heard this was connected with My Mates Site I just had to read it hoping is was as interesting as that one and I was not disappointed at all. I love the characters and how I got to see more of them. This story teaches you about love and family.
This story shows you that true family sticks with you thru hell (literally) I loved how it kept me engulfed in the story I couldn't put it down because I wanted to know if they could save the mate. Come enjoy this journey with me, you will enjoy it.
Another good paranormal m/m read by Sheri Lyn. This book focuses on a demon, Jericho, and his mate, Brogan, who always thought of himself as “straight.” After only spending a brief amount of time with Jericho, in which Jericho manages to save the town from the demon plaguing them, Brogan is confused as he becomes infatuated with the man, but his wolf recognizes his mate easier. But, what will Brogan go through in order to secure the safety of his mate? And will he follow through with his feelings toward another man? Read and find out.
m/m Would you go to Hell to save your intended mate? Wolf shifter Brogan Taggert is freaking out that his mate is male and half demon but he knows he will do anything to bring him back even if it means going into Hell and dragging him out. Though this story is billed as the sequel to Check Mate it can be read standalone. This short story reads like an episode of Supernatural with wit, snark and lots of adventure. I really enjoyed this sweet and fun read.
A wickedly awesome complex love story between Shifter and Demon. Obstacles to overcome - more unusual than most situations; but nothing that eternal love, a strong bond and the support of family can't triumph over.
What would you do for the person you love , would you go through hell itself ? That was the question Brogan had to not only ask himself but do with a little help from pack. I really enjoyed the story of Brogan he not only had to accept a mate but fight for him.
I devoured Brogan and Jericho's love story! Brogan was a favorite of mine in check mate and I was so happy when I started this and realized he was getting his mate! And of course it had to be the heroic demon, Jericho!
I loved this book! I highly recommend it and the entire series!
The core plot is interesting but the execution is very bad. To- too, then - than, errors like that drove me crazy. Not a stand alone novel. Honestly save your money.
What a new and refreshing take on shifter it had a great story plot and characters those from the first book in the second so it truly was a continuation
So chilling and thrilling and exciting! Enjoyed the carry over background from the first, enjoyed the setting and LOVE the men in this book! Danger, angst, heart pounding everlasrinf love! Amazing! Need more!
It was good, didn't have as much humor and sexiness as I was expecting. Definitely more story. I love the brotherhood of Rook, West and Brogon. I loved the bar scenes the most
