Bray has completed the training to become a Shaigun, an elite warrior that must follow the honour and code of the Shadojak. His life in Rona has come to an end as he is apprenticed to the Pearly White, an infamous Shadojak that has spent years in another realm – a realm full of danger, of great peril, and the threat of a violent death around every turn - but a world which he must return to. Bray has two days to convince the Shadojak that he is the Shaigun for the task, a worthy apprentice to help keep the balance between the worlds.
Oh boy! What a super short story this is. Mr Salter has proved again what a superb storyteller he is. Having already read and loved the first in his trilogy, 'Daughter of Chaos', we now have a very much tongue in cheek alternative tale of Frankenstein and his monster. In this adaptation the doctor has become Dr Finklestein...Igor remains Igor but a much more likeable monster who has a head full of 'Bliss'. Finklestein as always is the mad scientist who berates his poor monster constantly. However Igor exacts a suitable punishment in an experiment that goes so terribly wrong. Yay!!! Good old Igor. I loved the dark humour in this short story and recommend it most highly. A worthy FIVE STARS.
Nice short story about a character that I’m just getting to know in the Daughter Of Chaos series. I didn’t realise we had this novella until I searched for Eversong! Now I’m even more excited to continue reading the series 😁
Be careful of what you wish for!! This short story warns about miscommunication and speaking judgments as truth, and is also imaginative and brilliantly executed. LOVE it!
I haven’t read the Daughter of Chaos series yet but I will after reading this prequel. This book was very short but it had good action and I liked the characters Bray and Pearly White.
