Great book! I really hated for it to end. It drew me in to an enchanting land- a beautiful story of family and love and battle and a fascinating people. Ashia is so intense, and I enjoyed the story from the beginning, as the young woman Shanda goes from slavegirl to warrior. It's a gripping tale, with the loyal love of her life, Atillo, staying by her side, as she joins her true people and journeys to far-off lands. I really liked how the book is set over so many different settings, the desert, the ruling industry center, Ashia, the mountains, the Mazomi Cliffs, where Shanda's people are from; the sea and sky that Atillo sails his ships in, and the awesome land of ice and magical city, Khanga. It's such a great variety of places throughout the book. It's an amazing story, and I highly recommend it. I'm looking forward to reading more by this author, L.E. Thomas. I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
