Life isn’t easy on the Hawthorn Fold council estate. For Sally Davies it is about to get even harder. A horrific hit and run accident leaves her grief stricken and devastated. Her grief gives way to anger though when the person responsible isn’t brought to justice. She finds some comfort in the form of Mick Williams, a hard man with a soft heart and a mysterious past. But Mick has his own troubles. When it becomes clear that the driver of the car in the hit and run was the son of local gangster and Mick’s old enemy, Billy Blaine, the stage is set for a confrontation that has been brewing for all of Mick’s life. The question is, will he survive it? Set in Manchester, this book will appeal to those who love Martina Cole and Roberta Kray.
This is my first time reading this author's work and if he has any other books it definitely won't be my last. It's a page Turner for sure, one of the main characters is Mick a lonely troubled soul but he finds love with Sally but tragedy strikes when a bit and run accident changes everything. The other main character is Billy now he's just a jumped up bully who has no conscience and idiot hard men to do his dirty work.. The outcome of the accident affects so many people , causes plenty more deaths and terrible violence. In saying that it's a great read and I will definitely recommend it to all.
Liked the book and yes there were publishing mistakes. But generally the story was good. Felt the author explained to much as if simplifying feeling like speaking to a child. The ending was rushed and simply just stopped after a great run up.
A good storyline with The characters developingwell if a little confusing at the start. Needs a bit better copy reading, some of the mistakes caused a little confusion.
This is a cracking book and a very quick page turner. I'm a proof reader by trade so I couldn't help but notice incorrect use of punctuation and poor capitalisation but, that aside, this book is a belter! Keep your eyes peeled for this author, he is going to be BIG.
Absolutely brilliant. What a stonker of a read. This superbly written novel is a real winner. Highly recommended and I just can't wait for the next in the series. Thanks Tony Cooke for a quite brilliant read. Five stars and more.
I enjoyed the story line and how the characters link but some of the writing was not good. Words added sentences not making senses which occasionally distracted from the story. Despite this I would like to read another by this author.
Loved the book. Well written, very easy to follow. Story line gripped me from the onset. Got me emotional too. Look forward to reading more. writes very similar to Martina Cole, Kimberley chambers etc. So if you like those you will love this
I do like a good page turner and this book was certainly that. It was an emotional read at some points but I couldn't put it down. Highly recommend getting " Enough" you won't be disappointed.
Its a good storyline, but a few mistakes in it, to getting names mixed up, to going from a 4 bedroom house to a 3 further along but otherwise very enjoyable.
