This is a wonderful book filled with colorful stories and illustrations. I bought this book for my daughter, Lena, who is almost 2 years old. It is never too early (or too late) to learn from the Oracle. Occasionally, I bring it to my introductory finance class. My students know how much I respect Warren Buffett. Buffett is a fantastic human being who has a lot to teach. This book is filled with great teaching moments that can apply to children and adults.

Expectations were not met for this book. Warren Buffet has so many lessons in his lifetime of annual shareholder letters that could be made into nice children stories, but this book failed to do that. The stories appeared random, and then the moral of the story (which is stated at the bottom of every section) sometimes has nothing to do with the actual story that was told!

The story and messaging should be painfully obvious, but it was not. An example: one story talked about an owl and a bobcat. The owl lied to the bobcat about where he can find food; the bobcat went in the opposite direction. The moral of the story was stated to not trust cheap people. How....were we supposed to know an Owl is cheap...?! Maybe someone in Goodreads or the author can either explain that, or rewrite this book so it makes more sense.

It was a quick read on the plane. Both John and Tom did an excellent job of incorporating Warren Buffett’s lessons into something that young readers would enjoy and learn from. I am glad to have met both John Prescott, the author, and Tom Kerr who illustrated the book. Looking forward to gifting a signed copy of the book to my Goddaughter and another one to my Granddaughter. Thank you gentlemen for putting this book together to share the knowledge that Warren Buffett has shared with us throughout the years for our younger audience. 🙏
