What Sophia thought was going to be the perfect marriage turned out to be more than she bargained for. She had thought Sebastian St. James was the sexiest, most loving man she had ever met. After all, it was his idea to wait until their wedding night to make love for the first time. Sophia couldn’t have known the reason Sebastian wanted to wait was because he was a wolf shifter, and the beast could hardly be contained when he got his hands on her body.
Now she’s run away from her husband, scared to face the new life she chose for herself. What she didn’t realize was that once Sebastian made her his mate, there was no turning back. They share a bond that cannot be broken. Sebastian’s wolf has claimed her as his own, and he won’t give her up so easily.
Their relationship is even more complicated by the fact that none of his people believe Sophia can be his mate, and they want her gone--permanently. Faced with rejection and danger without and doubts and fears within, Sophia must go back.
This book could have been great. So many stereotypes in one book for black women that I can't name them all. The relationship between the hero and heroine never progressed past sex. I don't recommend till all of the books have been written because maybe the reader will get more questions answered than having questions.
OK, I finished this monstrosity, I beg of you please do not write a sequel to this book. I could not find it in my heart to rate this higher than 2 stars. I still wanted Ava to maul Sophia. Although Sophia did realize that she was mated for life to this shifter that loved her, I could not fathom why she had to continue with the role of sassy black woman. I'm tired of these books that write black female characters as smart asses, weak minded, helpless and in dire straights. Let's see a book with two alphas that are mated and see how that goes.
As one of my go to authors I purchased this book without reading the blurb. As usual Ms. Lockwood did not disappoint. Sophia is a string willed woman that unbeknownst to her marries an alpha Shifter. Sebastian waits to tell his mate his secret until after their wedding. What ensues is a great story of mistrust, hatred, loyalty, family and love. But that ending though?????????
You never got to know why the hero and heroine fell in love ... The heroine was annoying but the story was so choppy she didn't have a choice but to be annoying...I guess this was more of a sex story than romantic story...but even the sex scenes seemed to come out of nowhere, with no real meaning ...,I hate when I read erotica thinking it's romance...but I do think it's possible to be both just not in this story.
I like the way the love is always very strong in her stories and this was no different but I'm wondering if this is a story that will continue if so I'm here for it!!
Loved it! I can't wait for the sequel. The love between the main characters is felt throughout the pages I have a feeling the sequel will be better than the first.
I actually learned a lesson in this book. Love can conquer anything. This was an amazing book and a fun read by Tressie Lockwood! I recommend this story
Good Read. Could have been a little more in depth. Would have like to have read about how she found out he was a wolf. Will there be another book, it end on sort of a cliffhanger.
I enjoyed reading this shifter book. I have read this book 3 times each year when I want to read a favorite old book. The lead character Sebastian is so power and sexy soft shifter. He chose a black women as his mate, that's sexy and different. Their life was well written. The sex scene got me hot. With the ending you could have given us reader more u bless you going to give us another novel. I will buy it. Ok.
