Well put together book, that gives background to the falicies of speech in the Reagan presidency. The book covers many topics, revealing quotes and then supporting the inclusion of these quotes in a book of "error" with hard fact.
The book makes me believe that Reagan was suffering from some sort of dementia well before the American people ever knew. In light of that development in his life, perhaps, these misnotions, misquotes, fact fudging and forgetfulness seems more excusable. Still, a president should be measured and remeasured in the scales of honesty and understanding- if they fail to meet these criteria, it is someone's job to notify. Mark Green did this in this book. It may not have rocked the boat or sank the ship of his terms but it did give historical record to the fact that in that era, there was a man in the highest office of the United States who was confused. Perhaps, severely.
The tidbits called "What a Difference a Day Makes" are humorour as they follow what we now call: Flip-flopping.
I read this book decades ago,and I remember how hilarious it was,but also very shocking to read how many asinine things Reagan spewed besides all those most of us know about like his saying "we should consider ketchup in school lunches a vegetable",and that "trees cause pollution"!
He must have been suffering dementia long before it was admitted publicly.
A very sad commentary on American politics.Conservatives still revere this man as their GOD!
There used to be many, many copies and reviews at Amazon, of this book,I suspect the GOP bought them up to destroy them!
