Tyler MacKeltar has a motto: Just make it one more day. He fights his inner wolf for control every minute of every day, certain he’ll need to be put down at any moment. Life has dealt him more than his fair share of blows, and damaged his animal, almost past the point of no return. He believes nothing can save him, and he knows he’s running out of time. Then Parker Leighton walks into his life. One look at her is all it takes to soothe his beast in a way nothing ever has. She’s human, though, and he knows how that usually ends: in heartbreak. How does he tell her what he is without making her run from him and sending his wolf spiraling out of control again?
Parker Leighton does her best to hide from the world. Shy and awkward, she’d rather be at home with a good book than anywhere around people. Returning to her hometown for her sister’s wedding is torture; until a chance meeting with Tyler has her suddenly eager to be around someone else for the first time in her life. His effect on her is instantaneous, calming her and putting her at ease around someone other than family, when she never has been before. But how can a man like Tyler ever really want a woman like her? And can he handle what she needs to tell him?
One magical night together changes everything. Suddenly, Tyler’s wolf is sane, and Parker is more comfortable in her skin. Neither of them are sure what it means; Tyler just knows he doesn’t want her to go, and Parker doesn’t want him to let her. But will Tyler and Parker be able to handle each other’s secrets? Or will their revelations send them running in opposite directions?
Grace has been reading romance all her life, only recently getting up the nerve to share and publish her own stories. She loves all genres, but shifters have a special place in her heart, so that's what she writes about. She's lived all over the place, but she calls Indiana home at the moment. She has an adorable little boy, two dogs, and a tattoo addiction that she doesn't want to fight!

Unexpected Mates is an amazing compliment to Bear Claw Shifters. This is a quick and easy read. Although I wish it were longer (my issue, not one with the book) the story building kept me reading past my bedtime.
I am addicted to the conversation between Parker and her parents. I have highlighted. I have read it three times (once after I finished the book). Another great scene is when Parker puts Wendy in her place. Trust me, that ho had it coming and so much more.
Ty and Parker both have to work for their relationship. Poor Ty has had a lot of challenges in the past, and the come back to haunt him. Have no fear, he is wolf enough to admit he needs advice and seeks out Jared. Yes, the Jared he hated. If nothing else, that shows just how important Parker is becoming to him. Only if his wolf was as vocal--remember Ty and his wolf have been having issues for years. Hopefully Parker can help them out.
While this is the start of the second series by the author, you see plenty of the old characters making appearances. This time the reader is taken to Red Moon Farm. Tyler is a wolf shifter facing problems both from inside him with his wolf and outside with a struggling farm that is finally starting to turn around. The last thing he's looking for is a mate. Parker is a shy, introverted human who hates being around people. But when she's forced to attend a bachelorette party for her sister, her fate gets tied to her old high school crush after Tyler and Parker she a magical night. Fast forward a few months and you find the two trying to navigate the world of expecting parents, learning about each other, hiding secrets, and quickly falling in love. While they make each other stronger, they must learn to let down all their walls in order to finally be together. I loved the little surprises in this book and how Parker learns to stand up for herself. I also enjoyed seeing Jared and Tyler finally making true progress back towards their friendship. Can't wait to see where the next book takes me!
Unexpected Mates was a fabulous book. Before starting this book I had already read Grace's previous series Bear Claw Shifter Series in which we get glimpses of Tyler in. That being said I had this idea of how Tyler's personality was going to be. I must say I was absolutely wrong about him. Tyler was much kinder, more thoughtful, more possessive, and even had a sense of humor. Parker was a precious woman. She had been beat down emotionally for so many years, that paired with her social anxiety made life hard for her. Tyler had many struggles to work through to be the man he felt he needed to be. Parker had to overcome her own issues as well. Grace Brennan done a wonderful job putting the storyline into place. I am very pleased with how Tyler and Parker's journey turned out. This was definitely a 5 star read for me! I was so invested in this book, that I couldn't put it down. I very much look forward to the next 2 or 3 books in this series (When you read this on my way you will understand why I say 2 or 3.)
Shy Parker got one night with her high school fantasy man. She thought it would be something she would look back on for the rest of her life. Little did she know, her one night would turn into so much more.
Parker has always been shy and insecure, however it seems that there were a lot of people who went out of their way to be mean to her. I felt really bad for her.
Ty was a man who had a lot of his shoulders. He was trying to balance it all even after he has had some devastating blows in his past. One night he goes out and meets up with a woman who not only rocks his world but she calms his wolf in a way no one has before.
It was fun to read about these two growing together and figuring things out.
This is the first book in the Red Moon Shifters series. And what a beginning it is. I really likes Parker, she went through a lot and had to deal with bullies who have been friends with her sister. She tolerated a lot from them. Ty was very complicated and as he dealt with his wolf. Past relationships did not help him deal with packets any better. Adding a baby to the mix added more to the mix. As they get to know each other things get very hot! The scenes between Ty and Parker are very hot! I just with Wendy would have gotten hers, didn't want her to get away with anything. I can't war for the next in the series!
Great start to a series. This is book 1 in the series and we are introduced to many characters but the main characters are Tyler, a beautiful all black wolf and Parker, a shy young woman with social anxiety and self esteem issues. A chance meeting and a little liquid courage leads to a great story. The characters are easy to love or hate depending, the story line is a little fast but does not take from the overall of the story. Add in some hot and steamy moments and you get a must read for any shifter fan. There is no cliffhanger but there is enough open for the next book in the series, which I can't wait to read.
If you haven't read any of Graces books, I really don't know what your waiting on. Loved shifters, love how protective they are, how they would do anything for those they love. Well start reading and fall in love with them all. Grace you had me hooked with the very first book you wrote. But, Unexpected Mates will always be on top, because of that one little line. She was watching her favorite TV show, Gilmore Girls. Loved it girlie, keep them coming and I will keep reading
I really liked this book. It was a second chance type romance involving shifter and I felt the author moved the story among at a great pace. It was light drama, and I feel, light in the paranormal also. I would read more from this author because seeing the secondary characters, I want to see their story’s. I’m only giving it 3 stars because I wasn’t able to connect with the characters like I had hoped. It was a fun quick read, but I was hoping for something more to happen and it never came. 3 Stars #2OCCJD
It was a sweet romance, suited to a younger reader. The human h had a crush on the H since high school. He's a shifter, somewhat poor and a little angsty, there are mean girls, and the h has some social anxieties. Really she is very down to earth, and together so her anxieties didn't quite fir . But hey there was everything other trope, so it just got added in too. Not suited to anyone who wants mature characters. If felt very high school to me.
a simple easy-to-read sweet romance. good writing that flowed well .. liked the two mains and their support characters .. not a great deal to the story but it held my interest through to the end. a few unresolved issues that will carry through to further books in the series and provoking enough that i look forward to the next one
I'm in love with Grace Brennan's sexy, alpha shifters, and Tyler is so much brokenness yet beautiful beast. He has been through so much and when he meets Parker, she soothes his soul. They complete each other, and though they don't see each other again for nearly 5 months, Parker calms Tyler's wolf even in absence...
Parker and Ty are made for each other if only his Wolf would. Uld say mate...
Grace Brennan is a new author for me and "Unexpected Mates" is the first book in her Red Moon Shifters series. It's a sweet, gentle, love story with some tender moments that are unexpected as well. I am not a huge fan of "shifters" but I will probably read some more by this author.
I am enjoying this series and characters. So this is the second series in Brennan's Eagle Creek world. This is town with all kinds of Shifters. If you read Bear Claw three book series then you were introduced to Wolf Shifter Tyler. This is his story and the beautiful Parker. I liked this story and honestly the stories keep getting better. Happy Reading!!
Another great read! While this is her second series, it's a continuation of her first series, Bear Claw Shifters. As with the rest of her books, it is well written, well edited and great story lines. Did anyone else notice that hot cover? I CANNOT wait til the next book!
Wow what a beautiful story! I fell in love with Parker and TY, just the hateful Wendy I'm worried about, why all grown up adult would still act the age she was in school?! Hateful brat!! I hope she leaves them alone and what of this Kelsey? Their sister? How?? :_0
This book was incredible, outstanding, exciting and very, very good!! The storyline was awesome and the characters were outstanding! Grace is an amazing writer and fantastic storyteller😄😊!
I gave this book 5 stars because it was refreshing. It seemed like it was too good to be true but all was good. I enjoyed reading this book and watching Ty and Parker grow into a relationship. How Ty was so worried all the time was endearing and sweet.
I was surprised at how I enjoyed this book. It is shorter than I typically read because they tend to move too fast. This not the case with this one. I see a series ahead and it would be worth the read.
I love Parker's character! So happy she got her hea. Although, I am still leary and fearful that something is going to happen to her. I love that Ty finally found true love! I am moving on to the next one now, I hope Chase is next!
An awesome start to a series. Hot, but not explicit sex. Bordering on sweet, but not quite. A good read. Lots of threads left hanging to complete the series with.
