Like Martin Seligman on the cover of the book says: "the GO-To book for building character."

You can find a lot of knowledge in a compact book. It's ideal for practitioners. There are many exercises that you can practice yourself or teach your clients.

What a brilliant and practical book. This book is a must read for anyone who is into positive education, especially character strengths based positive education. Of course others who are into positive organizational development can also benefit from it as would life coaches etc.

After preparing the groundwork for understanding what character strengths are, their nuanced understanding and how to integrate them and use them in applied settings, Ryan lists down 70 character strengths interventions (CSI) to increase the character strengths in service of being resilient, improving relationships etc . It is a treasure trove of applied interventions.

This book is simply outstanding and brings together immense knowledge of Ryan on character strengths along with his compassionate and humane touch and weaves a very pleasant narrative. I cannot recommend this book enough....needs to be read from first page to the last including appendices. And of course the real beauty happens when you integrate CSI's in self work and work with others. The scholarly knowledge that Ryan has is simply out of this world and needs to be savored. This is *THE* authoritative text on Character strengths.

A practical guide on how to use, implement and strength your character strengths in everyday life. I can see how it would help a coach make suggestions to clients and also shows coaches the different ways people would exhibit strengths.
