Affliction by L.A. Cotton

Affliction is AWESOME! The long awaited appearance of Dennis and Cassie's story. I still need more of them! I love the Chastity Falls series. This is the beginning of Dennis and Cassie's story.

Looking forward to reading the other Authors stories.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC for this book.

I first picked up this book because I'm a fan of LA Cotton and her Chastity Falls series. I've been looking forward to reading Dennis' story and knowing that Affliction was in this anthology had me excited. I also ended up reading another story in the anthology entitled Camou Heart's Best Friend by Sam Destiny and now I'm looking forward to reading Camou and Haden's HEA something in the future.

Affliction was a great short story. We finally got to read about Dennis and Cassie and the love that they have for each other. These two didn't have it any easier than Jackson and Ana had it, but we only get a shortened version of their love story, which in my opinion is still okay. Dennis' life isn't any easier than Jackson's, though he tries to hide it from everyone. He was sent to Chastity Falls to try and get an in with Marcus for his father. But he's not happy about it. So he abides his time in college by playing ball, doing what he needs to do for Jackson (his best friend) and enjoying himself when he can. Then along come Cassie, a good friend of Jackson's girlfriend Ana. Dennis knows things are different and can't stay away. He tries to not bring her into his world but love has a way of changing all of our plans. I loved seeing these two fall in love and seeing their sides. It falls right in line with some of the scenes from Tribulation and Truths that I remember reading. And it helps me understand those scenes a little better. Wish their story had been a little longer but beggars can't be choosers and I'll willingly take what I can get.

Camou Heart's Best Friend was definitely not what I expected. I started out skimming it and then really started reading it. First of all I wanted to know what Camou's real name was but the author kept us in the dark on that one, even in the end. Camou and Haden have been best friend's for years. After Camou's brother dies she starts to change and Haden starts to see her differently. Camou has always been one of the guys, never even taking an interest in a guy. She's finally starting to take interest and at 17 she wants that first kiss that she is yet to have. After some time and seeing the attention that Camou is getting from his teammates Haden realizes that he wants to give her that kiss. But it changes everything for them. This is a heartfelt and short YA first love. A first love that I really hope will someday turn into an HEA for these two people. The author left a note saying that their story will come in the future. I hope so because I'd really love to read it.

I have picked up this anthology mostly of Sam
Destiny and L. A. Cotton. I love the stories of both ladies and here was not different.

Ms Destiny is grabbing our attention with her short story about best friends: Camou and Haden. It's amazing how in such a short story author was able to catch so many emotions. Changes. Growth of the characters. Within those few pages she made my heart race, skipped and bleed. It's a beautifully written story , one that will capture readers heart and will not let go. Can't wait for more.

The second novella I loved is Affliction by L. A. Cotton. I love. Ha! I'm obsessed with her Chastity falls series and going back there was like going back home. Especially when Dennis' story was one that I wanted, well still want to, read. I'm here she was able to show us the turmoil that Dennis goes through. Not being able to have that one girl because of the business he is. But one day everything breaks and he just have to have her. Cannot wait for the full novel and I hope there will be one!
