Does it feel like God has pushed the pause button on your life? If you’re frustrated by God’s apparent slowness, don’t assume that having to wait is a waste of time. God does some of his most important work in your life during these divine delays.
Many of the men and women of faith that we read about in the Bible had to endure long, difficult seasons of waiting before they could fulfill God’s destiny for their lives. And just like these biblical heroes, you can learn how to see what God is doing–and how he is changing your life–while you’re waiting.
Don’t miss out on the richness of this God-ordained lag between catching a vision for your calling and seeing God fulfill it. No matter how long you have to wait, you can be transformed as God prepares you to fulfill your divine calling.

If you think this book might apply to you right now, I highly recommend it; there are some hard but great truths based in scripture in here and some practical ways we can draw closer to God through a period of waiting. This book did not carry with it a fear and lean towards legalism I feel is pervasive concerning waiting, but rather focused on genuine trust in God's love as well as His desire to fully satisfy and fulfill us. As chapter 2 emphasizes, waiting invites us to intimacy with the Father as he places a longing for Him that could only He could have placed there and He can fill. God really used this book during this waiting phase of my life. Honestly, I love that it didn't end nice and neat, but was genuine, though I'm curious to hear what has come next for Jerome!
From a writing standpoint, I felt this book lacked some cohesiveness between Jerome's personal stories, the biblical connections, and the strategy at the center of the chapters and the writing felt a little cliche at times, but the message and the scriptural foundations are wonderful.
