Transfusions is a BL (boylove) webcomic. It's a story about young media student Dylan and vampire Joa, who died in the 80's. Despite the rough start with threatening and snarking their relationship will develop from cute awkwardness to a beautiful romance.
This is an ongoing comic that’s adorable so far!!!
Honestly friends I didn’t think I’d like this. I came across this comic by chance when looking through a list of urban fantasy webcomics with LGBTQIA+ characters, I Initially started it because of the art but stayed because of the story.
This webcomic is about an art student named Dylan who comes across a vampire while injured one evening. Their relationship starts off on the wrong path when Joa feeds from Dylan with the intentions of killing him but finds he can’t?? Which leaves a confused vampire and a pissed off student.
They eventually come to an arrangement, which is they’ll feed eachother. So basically once a week Joa feeds from Dylan and in turn brings food with him to cook because Dylan is a terrible cook! This webcomic defiantly started out rocky but I slowly fell in love with the characters and the story.
Dylan and Joa slowly learn more about each other and become friends which does eventually lead to more but it takes time. I honestly loved the build up to their romance especially since one of my favorite tropes is used. The I will help you get your crush and oh shit am I falling for you?!
Yes Joa yes you are!
This was really very sweet. Apart from our main characters the side characters were also very well done.
The LGBTQIA+ Rep was very well done and I liked the fact that author uses both the words pansexual and Bisexual when the characters are talking about their sexuality’s. Though Dylan confirms that he’s still questioning, Joa is bisexual. Joa’s ex girlfriend was also bisexual and Dylan’s best friend Angela is fat and bisexual. Joa’s best friend was asexual( which made my heart soar)
Overall, a wonderful webcomic that I will defiantly keep reading. I’m looking forward to seeing how the story continues and I highly recommend.
