Under Pressure is book three in the Dossier series by Cathryn Fox. After reading the second book in this series, I have been looking forward to seeing who gets to go on their adventure next, and it’s Reese’s turn!
Reese Scott is a veterinarian and is also nursing a broken heart from a broken engagement. Her name came up for the next adventure vacation. She is being sent to Mexico. Along with an assortment of excursions, she is scheduled to go cage diving with the sharks. She is also supposed to have wild sex with anyone she chooses from the resort. Good thing they also sent along her very best friend, Cole. He would help her to have the courage to go through with it. Cole has been away until recently and she is so glad he’s back in New York where she lives. She missed him. But when they are on the boat, getting ready for the dive, she sees him without his shirt on and realizes this isn’t the Cole from her childhood. This Cole is all grown up, and boy is he grown up. She feels a fluttering in her belly that is completely the wrong feeling you are supposed to have for your best friend.

Cole Rayburn has had a huge crush on Reese most of his life. But he never told her. He didn’t want to jeopardize their friendship. He had to leave, though, when she got engaged. He just couldn’t take it any more. But now that she is free again, he came back to help her. The problem is she has sworn off men. But when they are on the boat getting ready for the dive, he’s sure he sees something new in her eyes, a new awareness, a longing, a heat. Could it be that she is seeing him in a new way? But Cole is a thrill seeker. Reese deserves more. She wants the whole picket fence thing. He can’t be what she needs, what she deserves.
It doesn’t take long, though, for these two to give in to the electricity charging between them. Can they just enjoy the sex while on vacation, then go home and everything go back to the way it was before? Is that what they want? Or do they want more?
This is a short, oh so very sexy, story of two people that went from friends to lovers. There had always been something lacking before in their relationships or hook ups. They never understood it until now. Because maybe the thing they were lacking, the someone they were lacking, was right there in front of them all along. Their best friend.
I love Cathryn Fox’s work and this did not disappoint. If you are looking for a short, hot, diversion from everyday life, this is for you.

For a novellla, this had maximum impact. It's exactly what I look for when I need something in between longer reads. The author did a fantastic job of relaying a lifetime connection between these main characters in one moment of time. The connection and the heat is felt and you don't question why these friends didn't become lovers sooner. That it was just a matter of the right time for these two. This was a great shortie! Under Pressure is a fast-paced, seriously hot friends-to-lovers romance. As that is one of my favorite romance tropes, I was eager to dive into Reese and Cole’s story. Author Cathryn Fox did not disappoint – Under Pressure was the perfect mix of sweetness and spice.
Reese and Cole have been best friends for years, but each is too fearful of damaging their friendship to let on how much they want the other. An adventure-filled vacation is just the push they need to take the leap from friends to something much more. Ms. Fox did a great job of establishing Reese and Cole’s bond in a short amount of time. Because Cole and Reese do have such a strong foundation, it’s not unbelievable that they fall in love so quickly as they’re pretty much there to begin with. There’s no false drama in the story (which I appreciated), only two people understandably wary of damaging the most important relationship in their lives.
As individuals, Cole and Reese are incredibly likeable. As a couple, they are smokin’ hot with excellent chemistry in bed and out. And when you add in that they can also be quite sweet together, it’s easy to see why they’re such an easy couple to root for. All in all, Under Pressure is a quick and sexy romance that will leave you smiling. I adored Cole and Reese and I’m looking forward to more of Ms. Fox’s Dossier tales.

I'm loving this Dossier series from Cathryn. She writes some serious steam as it is and this little books are jammed back with it along with great storylines.
The premise of the series which was actually Harpers idea but they all agreed, to throw their names into a pile and everyone picks a name. The person sends whoever they have picked on a trip or some type of adventure that suits them to a T, with the qualification that they have "Epic" sex while on their trip.
This book is about Cole and Reese, friends since childhood she's a Veterinarian and lives in NY. Cole is an adrenaline junkie and moved from NY to Colorado last year to be a white water/wilderness guide. You find out in part the actual reason why he left NY in the story. One of the main points of interest here is why the anonymous sender sent Cole along with Reese. They travel to Africa and Cole pushes her past her boundaries as he always has, but all the while making her feel safe. The story takes off when he pushes a couple other boundaries and holy hell it's hot. I really liked Cole and Reese as well.
Also that the book focused on just them and their relationship.
Yes you should read it along with the first two books of the series. Cathryn always writes a great story.

I love a good friends turned to lovers story. This was one of the better ones I have read! Reese Scott and Cole Rayburn have been friends forever. They never looked at each other "that way". Now they are on vacation together in Mexico and everything is out the window. There is only so long you can hide your feelings for another person before you can't hide them anymore.
This was a short story, made me wish it was longer because I loved the chemistry between Reese and Cole!!

Reese Scott is determined to have the adventure of a lifetime in Africa including finding a stranger to have hot monkey sex with. However, when she discovers her best friend, Cole Rayburn, is along for the ride she finds her plan changing. Instead, she's going to seduce him. Will Reese be able to convince Cole to give happy ever after a chance or will their fear of losing their friendship keep them apart?
Although I haven't read the first two books of this series, I found this could easily be read as a stand-alone, and it's a story where the pages flew by due to the tight friendship these two have. Certainly, they challenge each other and made me want to continue reading to see whether the hero would be receptive to the heroine's seduction. Will Reese get her man? Furthermore, the way this story started was completely compelling, because Reese isn't sure she can go through with what she and Cole are about to do on their holiday. Will Cole find a way to calm the heroine's nerves? Will Reese bail on the activity because of her fears?
As for the dialogue, it made for quick reading due to the wonderful main characters that have been through so much. Why did the hero move away from New York to Colorado? Why does the hero avoid forever after? Moreover, the heroine is courageous when it comes to the adventure she's on and the activities she and the hero take on such as diving with sharks. I also enjoyed the teasing banter between the hero and heroine, especially when it comes to relationships and what will happen to the heroine if it's true she's off men and done with relationships after what happened with her ex-fiancé. While the hero, he's confident, adventurous, determined to help the heroine have a good time on their adventure, and I liked how determined he was to win the heroine's heart when the time came and it felt like he was going to lose her.
Overall, Ms. Fox has penned a wonderful and sizzling read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was strong; the romance fan-your-face hot because of the hero's dirty talk when it comes to what he's going to do to her; and the ending had me charmed by both the main characters, as they're determined not to lose the one person that means so much to them. Yet, what I liked most about the ending is the surprise the hero had for the heroine. I would recommend Under Pressure by Cathryn Fox, if you enjoy the friends to lovers trope or books by authors Willow Winters, Melissa Foster, Cristin Harber and Amy Brent.

"Under Pressure" is a fun, super sexy Friends-to-Lovers romance in Cathryn Fox's Dossier series. In general the Dossier series is Ultra Steamy and they get hotter with each book. This third installment features an Adventure guide Hero and a easily scared veterinarian Heroine. Reese and her friends made a New Years Resolution to be daring with their sex lives. Each girl drew a name and must plan a birthday adventure with sexy potential for their 'chosen' friend. Reese's adventure begins with a cage dive in shark infested African waters. Luckily the friend who put together her 'dossier' made sure her best friend, Cole Rayburn, would be there for her. Cole moved to Colorado when Reese got engaged. But once Reese's engagement failed Cole returned to New York City. Now that Cole's returned Reese is seeing how hot he's gotten. But as always Cole's only interested in her friendship.

The only odd catch to this vacation, is that her unbelievably sexy best friend Cole Rayburn is along for the ride. Though Reese is thrilled to have Cole's strength and comfort on this adventure, the idea behind these trips was for the girls to meet someone and have unbelievable sex…a little awkward with Cole along. At least, until Reese realizes that her best friend has definitely grown up well…and her thoughts are moving way south of platonic. Little does Reese know that Cole is just waiting for his chance, and when he gets it…sparks will fly.
With each new installment, I love the Dossier Series even more! Under Pressure is my favorite so far…though I may have said that with House Rules as well…hmmmmm. Anyhow, Cathryn Fox totally knows how to write a sexy and fun friends to lovers romance. I was captivated from the first page to the last! Reese isn't really quiet and shy, but she isn’t much for adventure, so this trip to swim with the sharks and see the sights of South Africa is definitely out of her comfort zone. I loved her spunk, her quick wit and adorable personality. Reese has such a big heart, and love for her friends it’s palpable. Her connection to Cole is something most of us only dream of, and when it becomes something more, the chemistry is off the charts. Cole is probably one of my favorite leading men thus far. His heart is so full and pure, with nothing but love for Reese. Their relationship so real, so authentic and true. Needless to say, Ms. Fox has knocked it out of the park again, and I absolutely CANNOT WAIT for the next one…

An adrenaline junkie by nature, Cole is more than happy to accompany Reese on her African adventure...especially when he realizes that the more-than-friendly feelings he has towards her are shared by Reese as well. But can he convince Reese to take a leap of faith with him, and try being more than friends?
WOW. Just wow. Cathryn Fox is an insta-buy author for me, especially with this novella series! So much heat, so much adventure, so much passion packed into a novella - how can you NOT be wowed! My only complaint is that I wish the book was longer!
I love how BOTH Reese and Cole are nervous to take the first step into changing their friendship into something more....but once they do, the sparks light a wild fire of passion! Their hesitations felt real, not fabricated. Real concerns by level-headed adults, trying to make their way in the world: will this ruin a friendship that has existed since childhood? And they live/work on opposite sides of the country - can they ask each other to give that up?
How far would you go, and what would you risk, to convince the love of your life that you are perfect for each other?

Reese made a pact with her best friends that they send one another on an epic vacation for their twenty-fifth birthday. The only requirement-epic sex! When Reese receives her dossier, it contains tickets to Mexico and adventure expeditions while there-including cage diving with sharks! Being a veterinarian, Reese loves all animals. It's not a far stretch to think she would love an adventure to get up close with a great white. What she doesn't understand is why her forever best friend, Cole, is along for the trip! If she is supposed to find someone to have hot, epic sex with, how will that happen if over-protective Cole is around?
I have loved this Dossier series by Cathyrn Fox and this book is a great addition! Fun, quick reads, Cathryn packs a lot of story in these pages!! Reese, of course, has been dumped in the past, and vulnerabilities are there. Cole has always been a true friend and a real pick me up when she needed it most. Under Pressure is book three in Cathryn Fox's Dossier series. This time it's Reese's turn for her secret adventure to happen, and it includes her best friend Cole. Both have deep feelings for each other that have been kept under the guise of them being best friends. Cole left New York and moved to Colorado when Reese was to marry Jared, but the engagement broke off, so Cole is back to share the adventure with her and hopefully more. This is classic Cathryn Fox, very quick story, full of hot steamy scenes, and even an interesting underlying story between the two characters. Great addition to the series.

Cole Cole Cole!!! What a perfect man!!! He was caring, protective, hilarious, gentle, and wickedly hot. I loved him throughout this whole story. The friends to lovers theme was utter perfection in this book. I adored the nicknames, the teasing, the knowing each other better than anyone, their cute pasts together. This novella was jam packed with a great little story. Major swooning for Cole! Reece was pretty great too, trying to step outside her comfort zones. But Cole truly captured my heart in this story.

It's Reese's turn for her dossier and she is not expecting to go to Mexico with her best friend Cole. She is really confused as why her person would send her to have hot sex with a stranger and have Cole there. Then again this could be exactly what she needs. Cole pushes her to do things she wouldn't normally do and maybe there is much sexual tension going on. Can they survive this trip and go their separate ways in the end or is it going to lead to something more?
I love this series the fact that these girls are sent away not knowing where they are going or who sends them is pretty awesome.

When Reese gets picked to go on an adventure with her best friend Cole she feels pretty confident because Cole will always protect her. When they jump in the shark cage and she is scared to death Cole is right there, but when they go hiking and hang out in a haunted cave one thing leads to another and they make love. Reese has always loved Cole but for his sake she tells him she can protect herself but Cole loves her and he's pretty sure she loves him too but now he has to convince her. This story is short but it tells the story perfectly and holds your interest the entire time.

Reese and Cole have been best friends forever. When Reese and Cole go on an adventure together can their true feelings for each other stay hidden. I loved how Cole was protective over Reese. Shark diving, scary caves and wild animal adventures are in store for the friends. The banter between Reese and Cole will have you laughing out loud, but hope that the friends will finally give into their attraction for one another.

This was an exceptionally quick read. Reese is swearing off relationships after her engagement to Jared is broken. Cole is her best friend. He escaped to Colorado so he didn't have to see Reese and Jared packing in the PDA. Now that neither of them are in a relationship and Reese's Dossier has sent them on a vacation together, will they each admit to their true feelings for one another? This stand alone HEA is sure to appeal to fans of friends to lovers romances.

Cathyrn Fox has another winner on her hands. I love the relationship between Reese and Cole, Sexy, sweet, and hot are just a few words to describe this book. Some of the scenes that the author wrote about may the chemistry between the two sound so sexy and romantic. The author does such a great job describing Cole, you cannot help but cheer for him and maybe wish you were Reese. Thank you NetGalley and Cathryn Fox for allowing me to read and write a honest review of this book.

Another must read in the Dossier collection. Don't miss this friends to lovers adventure that has it all - hot friends, exotic locations, and the unspoken attraction they've had towards each other. What will happen when they take a chance and see just how hot they can be together? This is one spicy adventure.

I enjoyed this book, it's a friends to lovers story which can be quite clichéd but this was well written and you could see the attraction between Reece and Cole

Quick, sexy, best friend, HEA read. Everything happens fast due to the characters having a long previous history, so you don't get to really know the characters. There are a few steamy scenes, but most of the book the characters are inside their heads doing that constant yes no back and forth. I wish this was longer because I could like like the characters if they had some other interactions or something.

4.5 Stars Under Pressure is book three in the Dossier series. Reese and Cole are great characters and with its great suck you in storyline this is a must read for lovers of this genre.
