A Lukewarm 3 Stars

I was hoping this would be something I could sink my teeth into but sadly it was just an ok read.

At the beginning Keto, was slightly annoying in his desire to simply bed the vampire he wanted (Charlotte) before he had to choose an appropriate Elven mate, there was no tension/turmoil when he walks away the first time from Charlotte - for me he came across as dismissive and a little bit of a jerk.

Keto does get better as the book progresses and Charlotte was a nice character, but the writing never truly drew me in, the story needed more energy.

Ok as a one-time read. Acquired via kindle unlimited.

Listened on audiobook. I liked this. Was cute and the ending wrapped up well

I loved the “bloom” and “garden” adorable stuff.

Keto was a good elf and that insta love was appreciated

Charlotte was a good vamp and made sure keto did what was best overall.

Strength in true love

Anyway. Those blooming gardens and roots were the best lol

So I've waited for this book ever since Awakened by the Vampire Prince came out. And I had hoped like hell that Keto was pining after Charlotte because I really felt she deserved a happier ending after being so loyal to Zane. So when I started this book and discovered it was her I couldn't help but do a fist pump while yelling "Yesssss!".

If you have read Awakened by the Vampire Prince you will probably feel real anger towards Keto. The Elven clan is quite old school and traditional, riddled with social and gender disbalance. So Esral had a really hard time before she got her HEA with Xavier. But you do get this nugget of info about why Keto is so resistant to a Vampire/Elf mating.

In this final installment of the Chosen series (I'm still a little confused with the sequence of books in the Chosen series but hey they are all amazing reads so who cares) Keto is finally being crowned king and is hoping to reform many of the elven traditions. But then Charlotte comes into his life once again (you'll have to read the book to discover their history) and turns his world topsy turvy.

I'm not going to get into any details of the story at this point because of spoilers but let's just say that by the end of this book you might forgive Keto for being such an idiot before and even fall in love with him just a little bit.

I received an Advanced Reader's Copy from the author for voluntary review consideration.

I have really enjoyed this series - and all of this author’s books. Each series has a world and a group of people you get to know, that crop up throughout the series so I continue to feel involved in their lives. It feels like family. The author does include a fair amount of graphic sex so if you don’t enjoy reading about sex don’t read any of this author’s books. At least I think this has been a feature I all I have read of hers. Clearly I don’t mind!

LOVED IT! FABULOUS ADDITION TO THE SERIES !!!
Title: Wanted by the Elven King
Series: The Chosen
Author: Charlene Hartnady
Designation: Book 7 of Series, Full-Length Standalone, NO Cliffhanger (Although this story can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading at least the first five books of The Chosen series prior to this story for a much richer reading experience.)
Reading Platform: Kindle Edition
My Rating: FIVE DIVINELY ENTERTAINING STARS *****
Great balls of fire! Charlene Hartnady has continued the magical journey of the vampires, shifters, and elves of Sweetwater with Wanted by the Elven King and what a glorious treat it is! I love it! Although this is a standalone novella with no cliffhanger, I would highly recommend reading, at least, the first five books of The Chosen Series prior to reading this story. I've been, not so patiently, waiting for this release since we met Elven Prince Keto in Princess Esral and Prince Xavier's story, but it was well worth the wait! Hartnady totally knocked it out of the park - again! Hartnady is a skilled craftsman and gifted word-slinger with the unique ability to draw readers into her vividly depicted worlds as she weaves her magic bringing the story and characters to life. And as much as I love her highly imaginative worlds and unique storylines, my favorite component is always the large cast of engaging and memorable characters. They literally explode from the pages, spring to life, and capture our imagination as well as our hearts. Obvious, I'm a diehard Hartnady fan and tend to get a little carried away when talking about Hartnady's work but isn't that what great writing is all about? Bringing excitement and passion to a reader? I think so because that's what I look for in a great book. But as usual, I digress so let's talk about this story.

Wanted by the Elven King is well crafted, well edited, and beautifully written in the third person with easily identifiable his and her perspectives. The dialogue is smart, snappy, well executed and flows effortlessly with unique, inventive, colorful, and sometimes hilarious terminology. (A female elf has a bud, stem, flower, and petals, and must produce a garden to get pregnant. And to do that, she needs seed and you know exactly what kind of seed I'm talking about. lol... No seed - no garden - no baby! Oh, and if she's a virgin, she has a thorn. No, really, she has an actual thorn. And a male elf has a root. No, that's not a typo, so just use your imagination. OMG! Love it!) The story is smart, exciting, fast paced, original, imaginative, suspenseful, captivating, gripping, riveting, thrilling, hilarious, romantic, arousing and oh so sweet!! And did I say hot and sexy? Oh yeah, in spades! The characters are fascinating, intriguing, colorful, engaging, endearing, sexy as sin and at times, laugh out loud funny. These are only a few of the words that come to mind when I try to describe this story. This book has it all! If you enjoy paranormal romance filled to the brim with danger, drama, angst, fantasy, adventure, suspense, humor, passion, steamy sexy, and dreamy love, then this is the book for you. Such a delight! Did I like this book? No, I LOVED it! Elven Prince Keto was introduced much earlier in the series but we learned a lot more about him in Book 4 of the series which featured Elven Princess Esral and Vampire Prince Xavier. He was such a big stinker! I wanted to pinch his pointy ears and wring his handsome neck in that book! I knew his story would be fabulous... and it was! Would I recommend it? You bet and I am but only for adult readers since it does contain explicit language and steamy, dreamy sex! Will I read this author again? Absolutely! I've already preordered Book 6 of Hartnady's Bride Hunt Series as well as Untethered, the first book in her brand new Shifter Night Series. I can hardly wait! It's a wild time in Sweetwater, Texas on Shifter Night! Hubba! Hubba!

Elven Prince Keto has always known he would one day become King. His family oak has ruled Pulomar for generations but it was much too soon for him to be crowned. He thought he had more time to prepare and plan for the changes he wanted to bring to his people. The assassination attempt on his lord father's life had taken its toll and King Katar was no longer able to rule. He would never fully recover from the prolonged exposure to silver. Keto had no knowledge of the attempt on his father's life but he still felt responsible since it was his ex-soon-to-be-mate who wanted to speed the process along so she could become queen. Thankfully, she never would be. But now that he had the opportunity, there was so much he wanted to do for his people - so much change he wanted to introduce to enrich the lives of everyone in the kingdom, not just a few. But change was never well received by his people. Elves were a species who'd always been happy to isolate themselves and remain ensconced in the traditions of their ancestors. He would have to proceed carefully and cautiously, especially since an elven king can be voted out by their council, a group of ten males dedicated to protecting the kingdom. And his first order of business as king would be to choose a high born female and take her as his mate, which only brings him back to his original mandate of exacting change. Many of the other races were mating outside their species. The shifters were mating with both vampires and humans. His own sister was now mated to the vampire prince. But in his heart, Keto knew one change the council would never accept would be him mating with anyone other than a high born elven female. And if he didn't make a choice soon, it would cost him the crown. Unfortunately, there was only one female he really wanted, one he'd met thirty years ago and had known for only a single day. But she wasn't an elf - she was a vampire! They would never allow him to mate with a vampire and have her as their queen! And if he tried, the council would strip him of the crown, bringing shame to his family name! Oh no! Taking a vampire as his mate would be risking all the plans he had for the future of his people. But still, he'd never been able to forget the beautiful Charlotte. She still consumed his thoughts and haunted his dreams although he'd never seen her again since that fateful day in the forest - until now. And now, he wanted her more than ever, even if it is for only one glorious night. But will one night with Charlotte ever be enough? We'll see!

OMG! This was such a wonderful book! I was riveted to my seat, white knuckling my ereader as my heart fluttered in my chest. I laughed with them, cried for them, and shook my fists in anger at the injustice of their situation but by the end, I was happy, satisfied and well entertained! And I loved, loved, loved seeing so many of our favorite characters from Hartnady's other books and series! Well done, Charlene Hartnady! Well done, indeed!

I am ADDICTED to this series; I can get enough of this paranormal romantic goodness. With alpha males in all shapes and sizes with Ménage à trois, MFM love triangles (eat your heart out), Vampires, Shifters, and Elves. It is Sexy, it is Sizzling, it is smoking Hot, it is Erotic so much so that it jumps right off the pages and leaves you needing a cold shower.
Sassy, headstrong females, and fighting to the death is not uncommon. So, what happens when smoking hot vampires and shifters, mortal enemies want the same thing; this is where things get so interesting, and the fun begins. These men are ruthless, they are vicious, power players, they are violent. There is lots of action, danger and war around every corner but given all that they love fast, they love with their whole heart and make you want to go and find your own.
Charlene has woven a captivating, tangled web of lies, deceit, suspense, drama and love that will leave you breathless. The characters are to die for, and each have their own voice in this series. I love that we get their POV because it makes them more real.
It is not all doom and gloom though there are plenty of witty moments and humour that will have you laughing out loud especially Zane and Becky, they crack me up.
Don’t even stop to think just click and read and tell me I am not wrong. Happy reading!

I loved it!

Warning: mature sexual content, mature themes, and language.

It was so enticing that I couldn’t put it down, this book grabbed my interest from the very first page. I couldn’t put it down, I had to know what happened next. The story is well written with a very good storyline. This is book seven of seven of The Chosen series.

Keto is soon to be crowned. He doesn’t feel quite ready even though it’s a day he’s been working towards his whole life. There are many changes he wants to bring about, all for the betterment of his people. He has a kingdom to run and a council to win over. Elven kings can be voted out of power by their councils. His position is not yet cemented. His first order of business is to choose an elven female. One he can take as a mate. Keto desperately needs heirs. It is expected of him and must happen soon.

Why can’t he get a certain vampire female out of his head though? It’s worse when he sees her again after all these years. She doesn’t recognize him and he can’t blame her. He’s changed so much. So has she and all for the better. Still tall and athletic, but curved in all the right places, and just as feisty as ever. So damned uncivilized and he loves every minute. He must find an elven female, and he must keep his focus on a future mate. Keto wants the vampire female one last time though, just once. Then he’ll see about a mate, an elven mate. It’s not like he has a choice! So with all that and more this story pulls you in and holds you tight. It’s a must read. I highly recommend to everyone.

Elven Love

Charlene did it again for me. I could not put this book down. Since reading her first story and flying through the rest, I have been itching for Keto's tale of love. It did not disappoint at all.
What I liked:
I really liked that Keto got knocked down a peg. He changed, for the better as the story moved along. We got to see more of his heart and how he truly cared about those he loved. When he met Charlotte he struggled. Watching him fight himself, and then fight for himself was icing on the cake.
Charlotte was a fave person of mine. She fought to overcome her doubts of self-worth. She showed that she had so much pride, honor, compassion, and heart with doing the right thing.
Esral was back with Xavier and I liked that we got to see what was going on with them. It added to the story to see how Keto and Charlotte acted with them both.
The plot was great for me. The storyline and how played out I really enjoyed. It was different from others and gave me warm squishy feels. If you are a paranormal romance fan, then I recommend this story for sure.

Well well well... who would've thought that the arrogant Prince Keto would wind up mated to an "uncivilized" vampire!!!?! I loved Charlotte from the beginning of this series and I have been waiting for her story for a while. I'm so happy that she gets to be happy with Keto! I love the new development on vampire females who were supposedly sterile and now have a way to mate and have children! It was good to see that the elves were willing to change, and hopefully will keep changing too. I'm very interested in the vampire female program with the shifters, and I hope to see more of that in the next books! I also really enjoyed the parts with Esral and Xavier and their new little member to their family! It was an excellent book and I can't wait for more!!!

Disclaimer: I did not read this book in order with the series.
When I first picked this book up I originally thought that it would be a good read. However I was sorely mistaken. This novel was a fantastic read and although I didn’t know anything about Keto before starting the series I liked that I got to learn more about him and Charlotte as the story progressed. I also liked how Keto went above and beyond to get back with charolette at the end. Although I do have to admit that i did feel like the ending was a little rushed with Charolette having a baby and all. However, all in all this book was excellent and deserves a 5/5 star review I can’t wait to see what this author comes out with next !

Magical!

Going in I wasn't sure I would like this one..I mean..an Elf..ehhh...Vampires Yes! Dragons! Wolves! But Elves...ehh but I am a huge fan of the series so I dove head first. And I loved it!!!! Charlotte is so strong on the outside but really has been treated pretty unfairly when it comes to love. And Prince Keto is certainly not making cookies in his tree house...talk about hot!!! Their back story was beautiful!!! And the struggle to stay together made their HEA even better!!! This entire series is one of the best out there!!! So many awesome characters and different twists...it is impossible to choose a favorite! I am so very looking forward to the next!

After dealing with the Elvin king Keto for several series and really not being a huge fan of his, this book was an awesome wrap-up for the Chosen series as you really get to know his story. This was a nice follow-up to his character progression after Awakened by a Vampire Prince in which you learn why he can be such a jerk sometimes but ultimately has his sister Esral, and the his kingdom's best interests in mind. It was also awesome to learn more about Charlotte's character and how strong she is (and stubborn) since for me at least, the other books seemed to paint her as a somewhat weak and ditzy character. The fireworks fly between these two and it's hot.....

I could see why this novel is rated highly as it’s an interesting fantasy, interspecies romance, spicy, drama, with court intrigue kind of read. I had fun with it for sure. There was just two things that kept pulling me out a bit. One was the descriptive terms used: flower, stem, nectar (IYKYK). The other was that I thought this was its own fantasy world but then they brought in some realism when talking about blood pressure cuffs and New York and stuff. I was a little surprised and thrown off.

Also, I didn’t realize this was a series until halfway through! I may have been more attached to the characters if I started with book 1! (Not sure if they overlap or are standalone)

Absolute Perfection!

I love the Chosen series, they are all page turners. I can't put it down until I finish. This part of the series was no exception, from start to finish I laughed and cried at every turn. I wanted to do a fist pump with each victory and I was as heartbroken as the characters with some of the overwhelming adversities the couple's faced. I totally loved the ending. Thank you Charlene for the characters you create and the way you keep your readers totally engrossed routing for the characters and laughing at the believable thoughts and dialogue.

This just may have been the best in the series!!!!

This book had be me crying, laughing, believing in giving second chances and fighting for another being if they mean that much to you!!! I was in awe at how the story pulled me one way, just to be yanked in the other direction right before Charlene pulled the rug right from under your feet and left you with your mouth hanging open with where she took this story!! It was amazing, and those words don't even feel like they are descriptive enough!!

Keto and Charlotte find many obstacles in the way of their happily ever after. Their future together looks extremely bleak. I enjoyed learning how Keto and Charlotte first met each other and details about their youth. The past history they shared set the stage for their current attraction and hope for the future. Also, the discussions about Elven and Vampire fertility issues were a fascinating detail that added so much interest to this plot. This fast-paced story was completely entertaining and a pleasure to read!

Wonderful Story !

A story that's dramatic, comedic, and romantic with doses of heavy panting and panty melting sex between a Elf King to be and a female vampire . I loved it . The storyline went from passionate romance to episodes of laughter to crying over huge obstacles placed in their way to being rated mates . Don't worry though . It has a happy ever after ending that has you cheering for the couple in the end . I've read the entire series and loved them all ! Give it a try ! ENJOY !! THANKS CHARLENE HARTNADY FOR ANOTHER GREAT READ !!

This was my first book from this series because I love seeing two different species come together and mostly having a woman be able to have control of her love life. I truly loved this story and the push and pull between Charlotte and Keto. The struggle between them realizing who each other are, trying to push their bond away, and separating so he can fulfill his duties as king was so ugh 😮‍💨😮‍💨. The chemistry between these two ate so good, and the smut delivered. ESPECIALLY THE HALLWAY SCENE PLS. So happy they both got their hea🥹.

Very good

My heart was breaking for Charlotte. All alone. No one to share her life with. The males all want children so they won't mate with female vampires who have all been sterilized. Such a drastic measure to take. Especially since recent events have made it possible for them to give birth. Keto is sweet and works hard to find a solution for his sister and for him. I thought Charlotte gave up too easily but I totally understand why. Good read.

The best by far.

I've read every book written by this author and this is by far my fave. Love the characters and found myself liking and caring for them very easily. The storyline had a few ups and downs which made for a more exciting read too, plenty of tearful times also. So all in all a perfect days reading. The only way to improve on this book would be to give me more of it - like a few days worth!! Thanks.

This was my favourite of the series. I have had a crush on the Elf Keto since the first book lol
I loved his character development and how their story built together with both perspectives. I didn't particularly like Charlotte, to begin with, but I felt that she developed well as well and I soon became to understand their relationship. The last few chapters were the most frustrating!! but so glad about how it ended in the end.

I thought I wouldn’t get into the elves especially after reading the rosebud book but this book was so much more than I expected. I knew Keto was an a hole but now we know more into why. Charlotte is amazing, I totally loved her in the first chosen books because she use to mess around with Zane. The plot is great and yes I shed a few tears mainly cuz I seem to be more emotional now a days but still so worth it. I had so many feelings in this book and I am glad I could read it.

God read

Keto the Elven Prince is soon to become king as his father is too ill to continue his rule part of this is he has to be dated and there is only one female he wants unfortunately she is a Vampire. There starts the journey of not only claiming Charlotte but also changing the ancient rules and beliefs of his people. It's a great read with lots of interest and hot bedroom action.

A vampire female and an Elfin King. I have to say this was my favorite story. Charlotte met Keto many years ago but he told her his name was something different. She had no idea that he was a prince and treated him as a normal elf. He has wanted her ever since that day. When they finally get to be together she thinks it could be him but he doesn’t let her know. It’s a push and pull and his kingdom is at stake but he won’t give up on her and she won’t give up on him.

Really good book. All along I just knew Charlotte was going to end up being the vampire Keto had feelings for. Pump fist that I was right. It was a sweet story. Like always not as huge of a fan of the Elves but I think Keto redeemed himself from his horrible character in other books. Very much enjoyed the read and always love enjoying the worlds Charlene creates for us.

Loved it!!

Wow I really thought that the elven king was just hopeless. Like he was just an annoying part of the series but I am so darned shocked right now because he is the most caring of all the kings. His love for Charlotte is just amazing that you can't help but to love them too. Wow loved it.
