In most organisations there is a gulf between business activity and IT concerns. Business managers tend to distance themselves from the seemingly complex and mysterious activities of their IT staff, while many IT professionals lack basic business and management skills and are often unable to relate their technical know-how to the running of a modern business. But, with our increased reliance on computers, IT is now at the forefront of the business world.
FYI, IT Guy is aimed both at IT professionals and at anyone in need of an enlightening guide to the business and people aspects of IT. This is not a mechanical textbook full of technical information. Instead, FYI, IT Guy distills what is most relevant and practical, providing straightforward lessons for IT managers, consultants and professionals in today’s business world.
Warwick Kingsley is an author and playwright, technology enthusiast and devoted family-man. He has written several books (both fiction and non-fiction) and one-act plays.
In his youth, Warwick enjoyed the works of Jules Verne, Charles Dickens and Mark Twain, as well as many of the more recent and contemporary pop fiction writers such as Michael Crichton, John Grisham, Jeffrey Archer and Robert Ludlum.
He lives in Johannesburg with his wife and three amazing kids. When he isn't agonizing over the fifty or more plot ideas swimming around in his head - and often when he is - you'll find him engaged in church and community service, working hard at his day-job or enjoying the company of his family.
