A shamelessly funny and brutally honest play about sex, connection and control, from one of the brains behind hit play and TV show Fleabag.
Dee's sexual escapades are messy and temporary - just like her shoebox London flat.
New to the city and in a stopgap job, Dee has the chance to reinvent herself. But how can you change your life when you don't know what you want? Welcome to the secret life of a thirty-three-year-old woman.
Touch was first produced by Soho Theatre and DryWrite at Soho Theatre, London, in July 2017.
Vicky Jones co-founded her theatre group, DryWrite, with Phoebe Waller-Bridge of 'Fleabag' fame, and the two share a similar sensibility. But, as with her first play, 'The One', the supposed humour is sublimated by an underlying despair and sadness that makes for a very uneven experience. This one chronicles the sexual exploits of a rather doltish 33 year old woman with 4 men (her former boyfriend, a sadistic pickup, a much younger co-worker, and a potential 'suitable' suitor) and one woman - and if I state her end 'choice' seems more a concession to feminist tastes than any credible solution, I think you can guess with whom she ends up.
