A look at how one seemingly inconsequential piece of information can lead one man to a greater good and another into the depths of darkness.

WHO IS DEEDS SPEAK?

Confronted with constant failure, Ethan Chance believes he’s discovered why, when on a lark he visits a psychic and accidentally discovers that in a past life he was Adolf Hitler. Realizing this ensures he cannot succeed in life, as there is no way he can make up for the crimes of his past, Ethan decides he needs to take his circumstances and fate into his own hands. Rather than attempt to live a good life, Ethan decides to stop fighting the dark desires that have tormented him since his youth, and finally embrace his desire to kill. After all, a serial killer in this lifetime would still have led a better life and created less damage than Hitler did during his lifetime.

Holland Last has been adrift in life, aware that at some point he has to start taking things seriously and consider his future. A co-worker of Ethan’s at Near Dark, the last surviving specialty/cult video store in the city, and aware of Ethan’s supposed past life, Holland is inspired by it and embarks on a guerilla graffiti campaign encouraging people to be kind to one another, and in turn sets off a Capra-esque feeling that soon takes the city by storm.

As Ethan and Holland process the same information differently, neither are aware they are engaged in an age old battle between ‘good’ and ‘evil’ – a battle that will eventually pit them against one another with deadly results.
