Even heroes need a vacation.

Unfortunately, Hannah and her friends chose the wrong beach.

The Oracle needs help. She’s dying, and only Ezekiel knows that the world will die along with her.

Hannah and her team take up the call without hesitation.

The only problem? It takes a freaking long time to cross the world.

While putting their quest on hold for a much needed rest stop and resupply, Karl, Hadley and Laurel get captured by some angry locals, who accuse them of kidnapping their leader’s son.

Hannah and Parker head to the rescue, leaving Gregory alone to guard the airship on a remnant infested hilltop.

What could possibly go wrong?

Unlawful Passage explores the magical land of Irth beyond the Arcadian Valley. It’s a fast and fun romp guaranteed to keep you laughing and pumping your fist all the way to the end.

****4 Kissing Stars****

I am so sad to say that the excitement about the story of Hannah and her followers is slowly dwindling down. Don't get me wrong - it's not the writing or the story - it's the case of "it's not you-it's me." I think after 4 books, my attention span just goes kerplooty and I need to move on to something new.

This is definitely a good book and a great continuation of the story. Don't pass it up on my word!

I was glad when I heard this book.
This new arc is amazing I can't wait to hear more of this story and OMG at last my pleas were heard and they kissed it made so utterly happy.
One of the things I like more of this series is that there is drama, romance and funny things Hannah is a heroine like no other and she grow on me with every book that passes.
I hope to come back to this universe soon enough.

I can only assume the 5 star reviewers are either paid reviewers or have no idea what constitutes a good book, because this isn't one. I'm about ready to stop reading all of the side series and just stick with the main books, because they just keep getting more awful.

The book is one action scene after another with nuggets of exposition that do very little to actually explain the world, individual character motivations, or even develop characters beyond: "ME GOOD GUY, ME FIGHT FOR JUSTICE, BAD GUYS DIE!" The actions scenes aren't even all that interesting because the characters grossly overpower everything

The characters are one-dimensional.
The dialog is trite and simplistic.
The narrative is almost non-existent.

If you're a fan of the World of Action Girl trope, you might like the book. Otherwise, avoid this dumpster fire.

While I enjoy the story line and like the snark, to a degree , it is getting to be tedious!

I have the books the story is interesting and the characters familiar, I find myself skimming ahead often. No one is constant snark, teasing, foul language, and bitting humor! It gets boring and tedious as it not necessary and just filler and this point. It adds nothing to character development and starts getting you to dislike the immaturity and boring nature of the dialogue. While I realize this pulp fiction , even Anderle decreased it as his Queen birch story developed. So this device is tired and worn! Get on with the story and character development, they don't need to stay at fifteen year old gutter rat forever!

Another great book from a fantastic series.

Adrien is dead, and Hanna and her team have started a new quest.
Stopping along the way 'to stretch their legs' they fall into their latest adventure.

Who did they save this time?

This review is for the first 5 books in the series. I tried to avoid spoilers.

It seems like there is no end to the flood of book series popping up in the Kurtherian universe. It has become a bit of a franchise actually. That’s not a bad thing in itself as long as quality is maintained. So far it has…more or less. The books, the ones that I have read at least, has been of varying quality that has to be said. However, the lowest rating I have given has been three stars with most of them in the four to five star range. The five star books have mostly been the ones written by Michael Anderle himself though.

This book series is another one of those “co-written” by some other author and Michael Anderle. Now I am pretty sure that Michael has had more of a consultant role than doing any actual writing. C.M. Raymond has been doing a pretty good job though.

The books series takes place in a time period after The Queen Bitch left Earth, for the second time, and Earth finally managed to screw up big time. So the world is now a post apocalyptic one with only remnants of science left. A medieval society with nanocyte-induced magic in it.

I quite like the story. The foundation is not really that original. Heroin discovers that she has magic, mysterious man pops up, tells her she is “special”, tutors her. Add a few weird new friends and of course a big bad guy with a diabolical plan, a wee bit of romance and we’re ready to go.

What makes the story a bit above the average thirteen on a dozen such stories is pretty good writing, some nice twists and a fairly interesting connection to the rest of the Kurtherian universe. One that gives plenty of opportunities for development in various directions.

As for the characters, they are quite likable. I do like the heroin. She goes through quite some development at a balanced pace. There’s her old mentor of course, a grumpy dwarf and a few other characters that makes for a quite merry team. Oh, and there is a quite cute little dragon as well of course. Did I say little? On second thought scratch the little part.

The first four books in the series are part of an overall story arc against the main bad guy introduced in the first book in the series. The fifth book hints at the first four being just a bit of warm up for our heroin and that an altogether new story arc with a much bigger and “badder” foe is starting. That doesn’t stop Hanna and her odd band of merry friends to solve a little side story on the way though.

Bottom line, it is fun books to read. It is fairly light reading but still, quite enjoyable.

Oh, one last thing. Should you happen to be the lucky owner of a dragon do NOT feed it coffee!

I had forgotten a lot about the stories in the Rise of Magic - well, those that I'd already read, anyway - and it took me a few moments of reading, before everything suddenly clicked for me, and all those virtual strangers that I was reading about, became the much loved characters that I'd fallen in love with, and so quickly too, when I had picked up the first book of this powerful, dangerous, but rollicking series!

When the light bulb lit, it was like stepping into a warm bath - but one filled with unexpected undercurrents, as though there were bath toys left in there from a previous bather. I immediately felt that warm glow you get, when an unexpected get-together of friends happens, and within a few minutes, I was nose deep in this story, and didn't come up for air again, until the final word was read.

This was a lovely vacation from the main arc of the stories being told in the series but, much like in most people's lives, it's those quiet times you need to be wary of the most and, boy, there were surprises galore in the story!

It was wonderful to see the whole gang coming together under Hannah's leadership and, with Ezekiel so distracted with his search, it's no surprise to me that Hannah's friends would all stand behind her so easily.

I love that there were completely new people in the mix this time, and that, despite the urgency of the situation that the gang are in, they still managed to do what was right, but managed a rest, too.

Looking at my reading list, it seems that my next book stays with Hannah and her friends, on book 6: Darkness Rises - this should be really good, as the authors ' notes informed me that there is more excitement to come - but, then, I've come to expect that in any KU book, and series, that I read!

I love the characters and plot line (it's a new twist to an old friend). I didn't really like book 1, and now I'm not really sure why. It's a mystery, so I'll go back and re-read it to find out why. Anyway back to this book. About the 1970's (yes I'm that old, don't look it, but I am). I can't remember the author or the names of the books, there were somewhere around 15 of them. I have a serious case of CRS, Can't Remember S___t. It was about a boy, his grandfather (sorcerer and an aunt who was a sorceress.) The theme is pretty close, and I loved that series. I'm really looking forward to the next book in this series. Good Job.
It took me sooo long to read this book. Not the books or author's fault. I am the family's go to woman for all things sausage and beef jerky. Unfortunately, I'm allergic to Alder and it's smoke. I keep trying to introduce other trees, but no, they want what they want. So between smoking meat and sticking my face in water, I finally got through the book. LOL.

This book in the series was more of a side quest. After a long time of traveling in the air, everyone decides it is time for a little break. Poor Karl is air-sick, so he was looking forward to some time on solid ground. Of course a break isn't really what they get. Soon after they land, part of their group is captured by some strange looking people who accuse them of kidnapping the leader's son. Of course they have to try to get the son back to prove their innocence. I liked this one. I still love Karl. Sal drinking coffee is pretty funny too!

Great start to second Arc

I really enjoyed this book and is a great tool book between first and second Arc's.

If you've not read books 1-4 you could start here as this gives an intro or if your like me and it's been awhile since you've read books 1-4 as your reading Age of Magic in order this gives an intro into each character and a very brief summary of what's happened before. If you can I'd recommend reading books 1-4 beforehand as Arcadia is mentioned in several of the age of Magic books so it's useful for at least three other series

Intriguing

This was a nice change after all that Adrien @#$*. I thought it was pretty good and I rather like the were here and we will kick some cans but be on our way by the end of the story, it makes for a better story than dragging out a city battle for 4 books when it should have ended in 3. This new arc promises to be an interesting ride.

Great story line

Excellent characters that interact well at the same time being extraordinarily diverse.
This is the fifth in the series I’ve read, each has MANY spelling and grammatical errors. It would be to your benefit as an author to correct these.
On to the next book.

One minute you are starting a good book, the next it is over already and you wonder how it went so fast... Fast paced, it's hard to put it down once you start. Action packed with great writing. Hope to see the next book really soon. I can't wait to read what happens next!

Loved it. Same as the rest in the series. Waiting for the next one. I don't know why the reading time is wrong unless they figure I start reading the day I get it. I am usually in the middle of another book. I read about 6 or more hours a day so I finish books of this size in less than 48 hours.

"Death to douche nuggets!"

Serious fighting, hilarious one liners! This was a "vacation" that turned into heroics. Meeting new people, fighting the bad guys, and making the most of opportunities along the way.

So glad there is more to come...

Dreading when the series will end. Five down not enough to go. Enjoyable and easy reading yet full of existential plight. Great ingenuity. Hard to put down at night. With that I depart this review to dL book six. Cheers!
