About the author

Tiziano Sclavi is an Italian comic book and novel writer, who has also worked as a journalist. Sclavi is most famous for creating the Italian bestselling comic Dylan Dog, started in 1986 and still ongoing, a horror pastiche featuring a paranormal investigator. More than 450 monthly 90-pages long issues have appeared in the series, with Sclavi as the most recurrent script writer in the first decade of serialisation.

Jack lo squartatore è apparso a Sin City indossando l'impermeabile di Rorschach e il cappello di Sam Spade; i giornali riportano che abbia con sè anche il coltello di Norman Bates e la formula dell'invisibilità di Hawley Griffin. Si consiglia di rimanere nelle proprie case. Fuori, piove.
Ecco come riassumerei Memorie dall'invisibile a chi non conoscesse nulla di Dylan, ma fosse già pratico di cinema e fumetto.

Un albo "storico" dell'indagatore dell'incubo.
Un assassino apparentemente invisibile fa strage di prostitute e una di loro, Bree Daniels, stringe un accordo con Bloch e Dylan.
Lei e le sue colleghe faranno da esca per scovare il serial killer, ma il piano non funziona così bene come dovrebbe.
Il caso dà una mano all'ispettore Bloch quando un certo Hiram confessa gli omicidi, ma le morti non cessano, riprendendo in primavera proprio mentre Dylan si è ormai innamorato di Bree..
Albo poetico e visionario, il vero invisibile è chi viene lasciato solo nella più totale indifferenza.

Il nostro detective del terrore è qui alle prese con un sadico killer che si diverte a sgozzare prostitute (o forse è più giusto dire libere professioniste?). Si mormora inoltre che questo fantomatico assassino sia un uomo invisibile, realtà o finzione? Il buon Dylan ne verrà a capo.
La componente horror viene accantonata in questo numero, il quale si presenta come un puro thriller poliziesco a piene tinte splatter. Intricato ma d’effetto, umorismo e romanticismo fusi in una storia avvincente. Promosso a pieni voti.

Probably the most experimental story by Sclavi yet, "Memories from the Invisible World" has a familiar "slasher movie" plot structure to it, complete with the right amount of campiness and tension. The story is narrated by an invisible figure, elusive to everyone since no one seems to pay attention to him. There is a bit of strange structure to the story as the narrative hits the climax early into the story, but that adds to the experimental vibe the story goes for. Though I don't think I connected with this Dylan Dog story to the same extent I have others, there's a lot going on here that is entertaining and intriguing overall.

One of my favourite episodes. Sclavi breaks the fourth wall and delivers a beautiful volume imbued with a deep melancholy tinged with black humour – even if there are also a few shocking murders and several well-crafted twists.

Seriske ubojice, kurve, nevidljivi čovjek, doslovno i preneseno, krv, napetost, poznati motivi i novi kutovi gledanja sve je tu nutra zapakirano Casertanovim čistim crtežom. Nadrealno, a uvjerljivo, baš kakav žanrovski strip treba bit.

Un bellissimo albo, con colpi di scena, citazioni, un “vero” amore e dei bei disegni che mostrano una storia cupa, drammatica, malinconica.

What makes a man invisible? Is it just that society does not register them, or do some actually lack colour and physicality? When a murder starts targeting prostitutes we meet Bree Daniels, one of Dylan's (or Dailan, as she likes to call him) love interests. Both the police and Dylan have a hard time, though, figuring out who is killing the "street-workers" and so more and more get killed. Bloch and Dylan, actually, never figure out what is going on, but an actual "Invisible Man" does, follows the suspect and kills him as he tries to murder Bree..

An incredibly weird story, once again; a lot of potential goes wasted with not really explaining who or what the invisible man is, and thus the reader is left a bit confused at the end...
Not a great story, unfortunately...

Jedan vrlo hvaljeni nastavak Dylana koji se meni nažalost nije tako svidio kao ostalima. Svakako dobra epizoda, pogotovo o samom negativcu ala Jack Trbosjek, ali ostatak solidno.
