AUTHOR Q&A
How would you describe this series?
The books are fast-paced paranormal/urban fantasy thrillers with both action and romance. When I began writing this series, I set out to create something for readers who enjoy a thought-provoking book. Heartblaze books are told from the point of view of multiple characters and take place in the present-day as well as the past. These books are not for people looking for light and fluffy reading, nor for readers completely unfamiliar with the genre.
Is this series appropriate for all ages?
No. The series is written for adults, young adults, and mature teens.
What types of creatures are in the novel?
Quite a number: vampires, werewolves, werebears, ghosts, witches, and fae. All of them are portrayed in new ways. For example, the werewolves are shifters who channel animal spirits from the distant past. The fae have their own unique language that plays a role in some of the books. It’s a functional language that I spent a year developing!
Shay Roberts, a USA Today bestselling fantasy author, has a reputation for writing page-turning novels with captivating characters.
Shay began writing as a child, scribbling stories on the walls of the family home. In ink. As you can imagine, they were poorly received. But when the young author moved to pencil and paper, a career was born.
The medieval world is a frequent setting for the writer’s works. Passionate about Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA), Shay founded the Academy of Arms, a nonprofit medieval martial arts school in Los Angeles. As an instructor, the author developed expertise in various dueling weapons, including the longsword and pollaxe, and later discovered these skills are counterproductive in office situations.
Shay is also an instrument-rated pilot with a diverse educational background, including an MA in Screenwriting, a BS in Biology, and a BA in English. This is another way of saying Shay never wanted to leave college and join the “real world.”
When not slaving over a new novel, the author plays open-world RPGs and explores the latest tech gadgets. Shay enjoys a healthy lifestyle that includes cooking, working out, fermenting vegetables, and brewing kombucha. The writer’s cherry-ginger kombucha has been particularly well-received.
The author finds Pomskies and Russian Blues to be the most adorable of all creatures and will duel anyone who says otherwise. As an animal lover, there is always a place in Shay’s books for another furry friend.
Currently, the author spends much of the year in Portugal, embracing the culture and learning the language. É muito difícil! With its rich history, picturesque landscapes, and friendly people, Portugal is the perfect place for writing spellbinding novels. Be advised, if you ever want to visit this lovely country, you are required to love futebol and swear allegiance to Ronaldo.
Utterly loved this book, had the great fortune to beta read it and go back and read it again, as always Shay very much delights us by capturing the reader and threading us into the story with all those fantastic characters, twists and turns as the story unfolds.
As always I will not post spoilers but I will say this, Heartblaze 5 has everything and brings every emotion along with it, in parts its fast pace in others more relaxed, it will pull you in and I most definitely lose track of time whilst reading it,
I love this series. Stefan follows Ash when she crosses the time rift. Sent back to medieval Norway they find themselves on a quest to ensure that Ash's wolf is safe, because they discover that Grima has also travelled back and is on a quest of her own to destroy the future Corby by destroying Ash's wolf so that she is never able to call her wolf thus changing the future. They are helped by Tempus who is able to time travel without the rift. They find each other and defeat Grima but until they return to their own time they will not know if they were successful in stopping Grima before the damage was done. Can't wait for the next book to find out if all is well.
Magic, mythology, time-traveling. Another great story in this mind blowing and "heart-blazing" series! This series takes you around the globe, not in 80 days, but in thousands of years... I received a copy and chose to review it.
Werewolf Unbroken brings the Heartblaze Series to a total of five full-length novels (this one coming in at a little over 61,000 words long), and more specifically to the second book of Ash's Saga. The series is written by the multi-talented and diversely qualified Shay Roberts. Including companion stories you'll find his series is reaching the double-figure mark as far as separate titles are concerned, with short stories and a soon to be released novella that's part of a multi-author boxed set collection. Many of the short stories are available as cheaper additions, bonus subscriber only stories, and the novella that might as well be free given the total number of stories in the collection it'll be a part of versus the miniscule price tag (see Shay's author page below for more details).
The leading lady varies from one saga to the next, alternating the type of supernatural racd along with it. The series does include the full range of supernatural beings from the ephemeral, to the embodied (human and supernatural alike), and to the divine. They also contain integral and similarly well built leading male roles. This book was preceded by Werewolf Unbroken, and Ash's Saga is the first of the two trilogies to see a match between the type of supernatural heroine and central villain; a human organisation that hunts supernatural beings has remained in every book. There exists uniquely qualified differences that reflect adaptation of known supernatural creatures; so in some regards you could say that most characters are unique regardless of how and where they sppear in the books.
Notably, each prior full-length novel has average rating scores exceeding four stars on Goodreads, which for me is the better reflection of star ratings selected by readers (for instance, Amazon uses factors such as sales based data, among other items, to calculate avg. stars). If unchanged, the title of the last Ash's Saga book will be Werewolf Undying. Ash's Saga gives way to Rosemary's Saga. Readers who monopolise such benefits as those found in an upcoming multi-author collection that includes a contribution by Shay, they'll learn more of Tyler's background and see the how's and why's of his continuance in Rosemary's Saga.
Included below is a link to Amazon's Shay Roberts Page for perusal of his titles, baring in mind that short stories available only to subscribers are better identified using Goodreads (where my missing reviews can also be found) or on Shay's website. The subsequent links are to reviews of the four major titles of Heartblaze to date, which in order they are for: Werewolf Unbroken; Vampire Soul; Vampire Rising; and Vampire Eternal.
Tyler Buck has a penchant for travel and treasure hunting. He thought his luck reached a high point when he picked up, or perhaps more accurately he is picked up, by a beautiful native Ethopian girl the night before he needed to set out for the place of his current quest. He's experienced excitement and adventure since his current employer altered his previous life dramatically, but that didn't include the unknowing pathway the dazzling beauty planned on extending to him. It's possible, though, that the past failures of this group might be the only thing they extend. Tyler isn't a saint but he's also never done the sort of wrongs that warrant dying whilst screaming out his life force. If his life is to continue on a path of adventure and excitement, it'll be in ways he's incapable of predicting in even his wildest dreams: or nightmares, as which the case may be.
When an ancient regulatory body of uniquely equipped and trained operatives get wind of a clan of werewolves ruled by an unhinged Queen who's looking to change the world in ways that only an anachronist can, Tyler is sent to enlist the help of a werewolf of a different kind who's bonded to an animal spirit who's the very last of her kind. He must find her after she passes through an unpredictable and dangerous rift to determine what links her to the developments his charged with preventing, hopefully before others catch up too. Working closely with her will expose him to what motivated another to find and keep her safe. Any development of affection will place him in hot water with more than just his timeless employers, but none involved at the heart of the potential for chaos will get any real chance to act on any said development given time is of the essence (no pun intended).
Ash Kinley continues to face challenges of the sort where hindsight reveals she "should have known better", but which it's hard to not hope for the preferred outcome that leads to the aforementioned. The trials of finding anything that can enrich her life without bringing as many or more problems and risks than they provide, is not unlike a dry creekbed beset by an onset of summer: they just keep getting bigger. The teen barely over the cusp of her twenties just cannot seem to catch a break from a life of hardships sent to test her, or worse, to break her. Between Celia's slutty change moving their friendship further away, and surprise appearances by a state trooper who's likely as determined to locate her few loves, that of her missing dogs; plans and anticipation of a special night shift to anger and then dread, followed by panic.
A conversation with Magnus following Corby's remembrance gathering for those massacred by Grima in addition to the considerably fewer killed by KoR had suitably resolved the niggling hangups preventing a full and clean break. She'd not even considered that Pennsylvanian Constabulary could've gained the information necessary to trace her here to Corby. Sure it wasn't until her desire to resolve some of the shared angst between her and her mother that she suddenly become visible to law enforcement responsible for resolving the death of her stepfather, so her panicked flight instinct did kick-in as it had that night several months ago. Of course, this time it's only her doing the fleeing.
It poses a now salient further worry of what faces her on account of running off with her loved ones and from the consequences of Lucky killing her stepfather. Whilst the man deserved what he got the, the dogs didn't deserve to die for protecting her and her mother. Only recently has she begun to understand her own increased role and her potential responsibility in said events, but she'd still be damned if she'd let her only true cases of unconditional love to be destroyed. She can hardly blame her mother for selling the farm and being forced to tell the cops how her husband had died if she was to prevent any suspicion of foul play. Nor can she blame her for not getting in touch or for the fact that only now, a few months later, has she gotten around to consider mending any bridges. In fairness, though, her life has been a tad bit busy.
Stefan Hildebrand was hoping to get a hot young woman down to nothing but her panties and bra, but finding the one who had when he arrived back at his mother's house, didn't bode well for his plans if the intended one had arrived whilst he was out on an errand. Truth be told, if it was the right one he'd be doing a happy dance regardless of who seen his moment of two left feet, and discussing the merit of skipping dinner altogether. If it was Ash wearing the beginnings of her birthday suit he'd have finally relaxed in the potential for something going right for a change. This latest ruin is predictably merely a continuation of the innumerable ones that predated it. From the time of the Taekwondo Tournament that'd resulted in the targeting of him by KoR and their recruitment initiatives, he couldn't readily think of anything that's gone right, save firstly meeting Ash.
The offer of recruitment that ended in his father forcing his hand to become an undercover agent was bittersweet, like his dealings with his father since that time. One failure after another followed until finally it seemed that something might finally go right. A one-eighty came from the last instance where he believed a potential for romantic association was to be a betterment, he can only hope that if this bridge burnt that it can be mended. Now a further reason why he must track Ash down ASAP, she certainly shows a kindred ability of attracting trouble and danger. What ever the trouble, he feels instinctively that despite their very limited exposure that he'll still go to hell and back to keep her safe and happy.
For Queen Grima there's essential things she must facilitate if she plans on being able to return to The Blind, and to prevent any challenge to overthrow herr crown. Whether Queen Streckirt's gifted power means she can win any challenge to her is ultimately to be avoided,as she isn't certain in any degree that the Svartr would ever accept a shifter as their Queen. If she expects to lead people willing to follow and to have their loyalty as well as failty in the sort of future she's imagined since childhood, she must return victorious in more than just battle. On the aspect of loot she has a range of possibilities to work with. Even if she only returns with the right number and the right sort of slaves then the Svartr will be more inclined to declare her mission a success.
But to be certain she'll need to make sure they'll see the staggering sacrifice of dead warriors already accrued as commensurate with the success she returns with. Slaves and gold are an olive branch, but what remains imperative is the climbing of their race once she facilitates Ragnarok; which is turning out to be far more complicated and difficult than she ever expected, especially given her gift. Hell, even returning with the annexation of beta clans in enslavenent to their superior Were status would be a damn sight better than she's thus far achieved. The glorious death of those meddlesome duo of Corby is now an absolute, if for no other reason than to at least recover from the way they've made her losses appear in the eyes of her remaining warriors.
Not that any of them would stand a chance against either combatant mind you. Her continued disregard and failing to heed the warnings of the volur and in part of Streckirt too, might need to be reconsidered in the least, as in these two instances their warnings certainly haven't exaggerated the precarious cliff edge she stands upon. If all else fails she may need to examine her warriors and weed out - perhaps by facilitating the deaths of - those who might look to spend their support on another candidate for the role of Queen, or to sow unrest using her failures. Had another Svartren Queen spoke of the Vartren werewolves as warriors able to defeat her people, the likes of Stefan and Ash, then she'd have thought the Queen was losing her marbles and that she put too much faith in believing the word of the hags or that she's simply too weak to rule.
Her desire to see the Svartr elevated to their rightful position just below the returning Old Gods in the new world she sought to build, might've gained her the support she needed, but as it currently stood it'd only take the amalgamation of several lesser clans if spearheaded by Corby's aces and the Svartr could be the ones being annexed. In taking so many warriors from their roles for such minor resources and slaves, she's currently set to go down as the most destructive Queen instead of the most successful. Her chances of releasing Ragnarok so the chaos could destroy this world, to be built anew in a landscape where the outsiders would be the ones hiding in places like the Blind or in complete enslavenment, is fast nearing the point of collapse. Her plans for Eric to facilitate her wishes was a foolish overreaching. If she's to prevail she simply must go there and see it done. If nothing more it'll certainly see smiles and the look of awe of the current warriors she has left.
Both Ash and Stefan know hardships both of their own making and of the making of others. One has definitely lived different incarnations we've been privy to, and if visions during the failed transformation of the other are anything to go by, it's possible that so has the other. The Heartblaze Universe is one that exposes readers to both the past and future. One travels there by chance but will look to recover the loved ones she lost whilst she's there, and to later do what she learns she must. One will travel to actively commit immeasurable damage incapable of being predicted by the world they come from, in a misguided need that arose from the love she lost in witness of a horrid crime at a very young age. And another will travel to protect what he instinctively is coming to love, and will learn that he needs to protect what he already loves. A final one will travel under his own steam because he can, and only he knows what might face them should they return from failure by all but one. As implied, love, conflict, and time travel is set to establish the field of contest and only so many can win the day. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
OPINION:
Shay Roberts writes urban fantasy mysteries in unique and reconstructive ways. Even before looking at items like his substantially high average ratings, or like the glowing reviews on his books, or the sales related details, you could just look at his bio on Goodreads to see what he brings to the table that's his writing desk and readers' enjoyment. Academics, vocations, interests, experiences, and fan appreciation combine to create a rather individual capacity for the creation of stories universally appreciated by any who add bits of his library to their own.
The novels he writes always contain twists and turns in new and unique ways, even when dealing with the supernatural that's been around forever and a day. The action and suspense mixed in with everyday drama and real life issues keep the stories from being mundane, even when they have to build the necessary bridges to develop contextual components pivotal to empathising and understanding the worlds he creates. Complex mysteries and lore, next to complex ideas like time travel which mandate a deep understanding if there to be employed, are a definite signature style and trademarks that don't exceed that subjective line where mysterious intrigue turns into confounding frustration.
Tidbits are revealed in ways that keep the mystery captivating, without the sort of gaps that keep you from being entertained simply because you don't understand enough. Even when reading on in order to get to that lightbulb moment you can do so with the confidence that he'll get you there, and often at the crucial moment when technical strengths play into qualitative hands. You might ask how does this relate to Werewolf Unbroken when it sounds general? Yes it does, but after reading enough material that successfully meets that standard each and everytime, you get to the point where what is said means the same for every story. Besides, my intro to the story and the favourable repertoire detailed work together well.
Driven forward by multiple and varied changes in points of view, his stories include the perspectives of even those you want to hate, but can never fully do so because you've walked a day in their shoes and thus can sympathise enough to know why they're the way they are and are doing what they do; even if you don't agree or like it. Never shying away from a hard concept to grasp or a challenge necessary to the picture he wants to paint, the broadened plots even tackle that elusive and often confounding element of events taking place across multiple timelines that may not even match up between each character let alone each story.
These cocktails bridge the gaps so that the immensely popular landscapes of urban fantasy mixes well with supernatural suspense, a dash of science fiction-fantasy, and a pinch of dystopia. The first trilogy was predominantly navigated by the characters Emma and Stefan, and Stefan has returned for a second trilogy, sharing the stage with the new female lead of Ash. She's grown to a character defined by strength since her staring role in her own short story, followed by the events of Werewolf Unbroken, and she'll definitely still be on the scene until at least the end of Werewolf Undying: the planned third book in Shay's second trilogy, that is, Ash's Saga.
It's also the strong and well completed villains and cameos that cannot go unsaid without noting the integral part they play. Even if the arousing intro above doesn't get you interested enough then surely this repertoire and analysis should. Werewolf Unbroken solidifies all of the new characters whilst turning Stefan's position into that of the ever reliable mainstay. I don't even need to read the story to know it's a five, but I have and it only confirms my current prediction with each new book. Buy this and the back catalogue, and then jump on the website or into any notes throughout those books to get the additional stories: you won't be sorry, and you'll soon be singing praises too!
I read reviews before reading any books, so I hope you check this one out. So far I've read every book in this series and haven't been able to put them down. Once you start, I'm sure you're going to feel the same. The first 3 books in the series are mostly concentrated on the Transcendent, which is what vampires are named in this collection. They also contain a lot of information on shifters, were's are not all wolves and bears! Although each book can be read as a standalone story the next book picks up immediately where you left off in the last. I don't do well with cliffhangers. The 4th and 5th books explore them in greater depth and introduce so much more! The evil Queen Grima and her army of vigrvarg are still just as savage and bloodthirsty in their search for Ash and will stop at nothing to complete their twisted goals. The world is not at all what the parties believe they'll encounter when traveling into this epic battle. Creatures and humans alike, thought to be myth and legend, will change the course of their lives forever. The characters are so well written and consistent, the description of the world intense, and the storyline and plot unlike anything I've ever read. Shay Roberts is clearly in the zone! Thanks to Snowfire Press for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
What can I say, other than I love this entire series of books written by Mr. Roberts. Werewolf Unbroken Ash's Saga was yet another book I could not put down, one more chapter became one more until I had read the entire book in one sitting. This series keeps getting better and better. It has all the supernatural characters I love werewolves, vampires, elves and now dragons with who knows what more is to come in future books.
Ash's Saga brings us back into Ash's and Stephanie lives with the added twist of time travel back to Viking Norway and the introduction of Tempus/Tyler. We follow them into Viking times and battle with Grima, her band of Svartrs to see them triumph over the 'evil' that Grima carries with her.
The twists and turns Mr. Roberts has written into this book keeps the reader turning the pages. His characters are consistently well written, becoming alive on the page. His description of the Norse world and way of life intense, well researched with a storyline and plot that grabs the reader from the first page to the last page. I personally can not wait for Tempus story to be released.
Thanks to Snowfire Press for providing a copy of this book which I enjoyed and am voluntarily giving my honest review for.
I have read all books to date, and am enjoying them however they are rather complex. "This is the fifth book in the heart blaze series, and the second in Ashes sage. You don't need to have read the first three books to follow this, however there is some reference to characters in them, so it helps if you have read them. You have to concentrate at times to follow the book which is written from the perspective of three different characters Grima, Ash and Stefan. And takes place over different time periods, although mainly in the past. However if you keep reading, it all starts to pull together. The book includes lots of Norse mythology, which isn't an area I'm knowledgeable in, so I did struggle at times to keep up with some of it, and I found there was a lot of unfamiliar words to get my head around. It is well written, the characters are interesting and the storyline does draw you in once you get used to the different characters and writing style. we see more of Stefan, who I've liked in all the books, I think he is such a fantastic character, and Tyler/Tempus, another character I'm rapidly developing a fondness for. Thanks to Snowfire Press for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
Strap in, because this one is non-stop. Fortunately, I found this one much easier to follow than some others in the series. In fact, this may be one of the few time-travel themed books I've read that hasn't confused the hell out of me.
The plot was tightly woven and compelling. Characters were complex and acted as expected, which is not to say anything was predictable. Queen Grima is the quintessential evil indestructible villain who you love to hate. Stefan, ever the hero, always manages to take control of the situation through intelligence and defensive training. Ashley, clearly blessed by the gods, is courageous and considerate.
This book doesn't end with a cliff-hanger, but there is no doubt of a sequel - and it's a safe bet that sequel will include Tempus/Tyler and Sun Walker. The foreshadowing may have been a little heavy, but necessary. This series continues to keep me enthralled and I highly recommend it.
As always, thanks to Snowfire Press for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
NOT kindle unlimited. Not sure if he had ARC for this one or not, just went ahead and preordered because really busy this time of year. For the record, again, I don't like twilight or those types of stories, but have read everything Roberts has written, so there exceptions to every rule.
Recommended reading order: start with books 1-3 (Emma’s Saga, vampires), or jump in at books 4-6 (Ash’s Saga, werewolves), or begin with books 7-9 (Rosemarie’s Saga, dragons). If you start the series with books 4 or 7, expect a few references to the previous books, but you will still be able to follow the story.
My name is Ash. I've thrown myself into the Viking past on a crazy quest to save my wolf, but what I discover there is beyond crazy. My name is Stefan. I have a mysterious connection with Ash, but powerful forces want to keep us apart, and they have a big surprise in store for me.
The book is told from 3 points of view, Ash (a wereling), Stefan (a werewolf shifter), and Grima, (Queen of a rather vicious werewolf tribe). The book begins with the last few chapters of the previous book....but really you need to read all 4 Heartblaze novels that come before this to understand everything. There are also bonus short stories that fill in some of the gaps (where did Ash come from? Who is Tempus?) available free from the author if you sign up for his newsletter.
Mix Norse mythology, shifters, war, and time travel and you have a very basic synopsis. Grima wants to kill Ash, Stefan wants to save Ash, and Ash wants to find the dogs she lost in a previous book. Thor has a guest appearance. Unlike the first book in this trilogy there isn’t a cliffhanger ending. It wraps up nicely, although you know there will be a third book. This is my favorite full length book of the series so far.
“Thanks to Snowfire Press for providing a copy of this book for review”
The alluring story of Ash and the wolf continues, and anyone who have read the previous tantalizing books can most definitely recognize and feel the allure, and the calling of this enticingly wild but marvellous tale! Norse mythology is skillfully woven in with modern myths forming An intricately spun tale that leaves a unforgettable impression. The qualities that makes Shay Roberts books outstanding are so many, ranging from well developed characters, to mesmerizing dialogues, stunning intrigues, and most unexpected twists and turns. Its perfection down to every detail, and the knowledge that he delivers, every time! My opinion and unbiased review is a matter of integrity. I was given this book as an ARC, in exchange for a impartial opinion. This does not change, impair, steer or in any way change what my opinion or reviews says
Ash's story continues with heart-racing pace. You come to understand more about Tempus. Stephen seems to be one step behind Grima every step of the way...but she does not get to win...the mirror people...sorry you need to read the book to know what that is all about.;-)
This book is a beautiful tapestry, intricately spun with tales that leaves an unforgettable impression. Norse mythology is skillfully woven in with modern myths leaving you to wonder what is going to happen next.
This is the 5th book in the series that I've read, and yet another one that I couldn't put down. I can not wait to see what happens in the next book.
Shay Roberts is a writer to keep tabs on and his books a must read when you are tired of the old clichés and mediocre books that flood our bookshelves. You can never go wrong with a Shay Roberts book.
Noooooo! I literally read this book in two days. Now, I'm broken. This was such a ride and there were so many twists and turns that I never saw coming.
First, Ash and Stefan - romance slow blossoming. I love that. Love is never something that falls out of nothing. And these two have been through so much together. Tempus - He is one interesting character. I wish we could get some chapters from his perspective. Grima - Ah, how I love to hate her... She is one badass, but she is just bad. The more I learned about her, the worse she was. She had so many times where choosing the better path was open to her, but nope. The world, want more, please. This is the one world I get lost in every time, and then I read the books way too fast. This journey was over too soon! The writing was superb, Shay had me hanging on to his every word. And still improving. I want more!!
First of all, I really love how this book brings me some knowledge of Norse history. It's like learning while having fun. Seriously, I learned a lot from this book! New terms and words!
Secondy, I really enjoy series even though I'm more on books that have vampires as leads and genres such as this doesn't really catch my eye but, these series just got me! The characters are really inspiring, especially Ash and Stefan! Somehow, I look up to Grima despite her role.
Third, as always every book is intense and leaves you wanting for more! The cliffhangers that I've encountered are frustrating making me read more chapter every time!
Lastly, there's always a lesson learned in each book.
Wow, another fantastic adventure from Shay Roberts! This might be the best book so far in the series, maybe because I love Scandinavian things and this book is steeped in Norse mythology and culture. Lots of suspense, time travel, plot twists and major surprises, as the separate narratives of the three main characters (Grima, Ash and Stefan) all run parallel and build up to a rock 'em sock 'em conclusion. Lots of strong women, including more than one villain, and brave warriors. The author has an uncanny ability to build a fantasy world that is so detailed you can easily imagine it, yet she writes in a simple and smut-free prose that is great for teens to adults. She also does not hesitate to kill off characters as appropriate to advance the story.
This fifth instalment in the Heartblaze series is action-packed in the extreme - with time travel, Norse adventures, dragons, ghosts, gods and mythology come to life, and plenty of fighting too, you certainly won't get bored! However, I won't give any more secrets from the story away - I hate spoilers! I'll just say that fans of the Heartblaze series should definitely read this latest book, and new readers should definitely catch up on the story so far then read this book! Highly recommended read. NB I received a complimentary copy of this book, but I always give an HONEST review based wholly on my own opinions
Wow, Shay has done it again! Another heart-pounding adventure in his Heartblaze series. We follow Ash, Stephen, and Tempus as they continue to battle Grima and try to stop her from bringing weapons into the past, hastening Ragnarok, and changing the future. It kept me turning pages until the end. It's fascinating to me how Shay weaves such intricate and intertwining threads to create these beautiful tapestries. The only thing I didn't like about the book is that it ended and I have to wait for the next one. I received a complimentary ARC of this book from the author.
I have been reading this series since the first book and highly recommend you read them all. It is a story filled with fantasy and romance. I really love the strong female characters like Ash. Ash is so determined to discover the truth and to keep the people and animals she loves safe. She is strong and gets stronger with each book. Her relationship with Stefan continues to grow as well. He is really devoted to her too. I am always eager to read more about these characters and see what the future holds for them.
Ash's story continues in this intriguing sequel to her tale. She is put through many trials as the Lady of the Wolves, finds friends and of course, delays her enemies. Stephan is taken on a journey as well, and his intelligence and charm shine through as always. Grima is back as well, with new challenges and hatred that abounds. Roberts spins a shifter tale which incorporates Norse mythology, love, friendship and strength throughout. Another fabulous installment in the Heartblaze series! * I received an arc from the author for an honest review
I absolutely loved this book. Shay Roberts is an awesome author with adventure, magic, mythology with a wonderous strong female leading character, Ash, and the heroes that are her friends by her side. A hard to put down read wanting to know what will happen next for Ash & Seeker. If not for a brief illness I would have finished Werewolf Unchained well before I did. I'm on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what will happen in the next book. I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.
This is a fantastic series. It picks up right where the last book left off. These stories are so unique, as well as the complexity of the characters. This author has a way of keeping the story fresh and totally unpredictable. I love the characters. Ash has such as good heart and is tough as nails. I highly recommend reading the entire series. Each new book is unique and continues right where we left off. I hardly can contain myself waiting on the next book.
And here's another great story from Shay Roberts! I love his writing and have read all of his works to date. While the first book in this series - the Werewolf Series, was not my favorite, this one definitely is up there. Non-stop action and unexpected twists had me turning pages as fast as I could! I can't wait for the next book in the series! I was given this book by the author and voluntarily chose to review it.
I read reviews before reading any books, so I hope you check this one out. So far I've read every book in this series and haven't been able to put them down. Once you start, I'm sure you're going to feel the same. The characters are so well written and consistent, the description of the world intense, and the story line and plot unlike anything I've ever read.
This series just keeps getting better. The characters are heroic and supernatural. Werewolves, vampires, dragons and more. What else could you want? An awesome imagination has created a world within a world and normal characters in to supernatural beasts. He isn't writing the next book quick enough. I am gripped.
OMG this is the best out of the whole series. I have to say I had a hard time putting it down. Between Ash, Stephen, Tempus, and Grima you never knew what was going to happen next. The time travel was really different in this book. So now the wait for what happens next can't wait. I received and arc copy for my honest review.
I loved following Ash and Stefan's travels in the ancient lands, and their battle with Grima. I could not put down my ARC copy, and I can't wait to find out what happens to everyone, including what has happened back in Corby.
Also, I especially liked how Shay managed to weave in some ancient history and folklore. It made the story more believable and
It's a tad cliff-hanger as we wait for the next book, but the up shot is - Vikings and ice and amazingly interesting things going on. It has mythology, and all kinds of mixed in. It's a good next book in a series that I have become very fond of reading.
My copy came from the author, and I like these books so much that I bought my own copy as well. My thoughts and opinions are my own.
Another fantastic adventure! I like this book as the other in this series. Full of surprise, a new world, old and new story are all interconnected in a fantastic way. You would love the characters and keep to see the end of the story. I suggest this book for all what love fantasy. “Thanks to Snowfire Press for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.”
I thought this book was very well written and easy to follow. Also the book was very intriguing and kept me wanting for more. Can't wait to see what's going to happen next in this series. “Thanks to Snowfire Press for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.”
The 5th book in the series that I've read, and yet another one that I couldn't put down. A real nail biter, the plot twists and turns, new characters are introduced, different time periods and settings. Probably my favourite so far. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
