On the run. Alone. Tulia Mills knows it's only a matter of time before the enemy catches up. She's resigned herself to a life of captivity and cruelty, but that doesn't mean her parents have to suffer along with her.
Austin Brighton's mission is simple. Find Tulia, keep her safe, and bring her home. That's it. Only, his dragon didn't get that memo. Her scent calls to him, and he's made his decision. She's his, and he'll do whatever it takes to keep her.
>I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 5th in the Dragon Blood series and ends in an HEA. Julia is a water dragon on the run, along with her parents, from a cruel dragon clan. The leader of this clan has beaten and abused her in the past. This book can be read as a standalone, but previous story lines do come in to play. A previous book has Charlotte being saved and finding her mate. Charlotte asks her mate to help save Julia. Austin sees a picture of a beaten Julia and knows she is his mate. He asks to go to save her.
>The senses play a large role in this story, especially the sense of smell. As soon as Austin smells Julia, his dragon wants her. Julia’s dragon feels the same way, but she is so afraid of men at this point that it takes the woman a much longer time to fall for Austin. The scenes where Austin cares for Julia, putting her needs first are so romantic. Sex isn’t even involved. Austin’s need to keep her safe, fed and warm is one of the most romantic needs ever.
>Austin proves he is trustworthy by his actions towards Julia and her parents. There are some battles that are vividly described and of course, the relationship between Austin and Julia is so sweet. I would have liked a bit more information regarding this new clan. Not reading any previous books, I was unsure why the bad clan wanted Julia and how large the good clan was.
>This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 5 stars. There is romance, action and a lot of vivid descriptions that really keep a reader ensconced in this world.
I was very happy to find this book to be Austin and Tulia's story, after Austin having been sent to find Tulia in book 3 and the revelation that Meadow has a brother named Austin who left when she was still a child. I had hoped for a reunion during the last book, but it didn't happen. I'm glad it eventually did in this one, but it's hard to say exactly how it came about. All Jace says is that he got a call from Kade, but that doesn't at all explain how Kade discovered the connection between the two, considering neither Kade nor Meadow ever made it to Dragon Blood territory during their book. As Rory returned to the estate with Wilson after Wilson's injuries it might be safe to assume he recognized Austin and then eventually told Meadow, but we'll never truly know. I really wish that was explained more. I am happy they had their reunion via the computer, but I'd really love to get to see the actual in person reunion, how that goes and what they discuss. I'm not doubtful I'll get that opportunity though. While I did enjoy the story as a whole, it feels like there were several aspects in which it could've been flushed out a bit more. I'm just glad that I was able to read this free via Kindle Unlimited.
Note: I received an advanced review copy in exchange for my honest review.
If you aren't aware this book is #5 in the series, you can definitely read it alone but it is only better and makes far more amazing sense if you've read the others.
I really liked the story and was excited for a new book in this series. It's well written and it doesn't come off as a 'long overdue' sort of book, fans have been waiting but it doesn't mean we were let done at all.
It felt like we had just read book 4, so I found myself enjoying every moment from beginning to end. I really liked the main characters and could completely understand their feelings at each moment and I never once felt the story taking too long to get anywhere.
If you've read the previous books, this one is right on track and just as good so you won't be disappointed. If you haven't read any - you definitely can read this one and enjoy the book but it's my recommendation to read the others as it just makes it so much better.
It's a great read, and I definitely couldn't stop reading (minus everyday life's interruptions) till I could finish it - which for me means It's a REALLY good read.
Tulia is being chased by Charlotte's brother Reyne. He was going to mate her himself but now that Charlotte is gone he has to sell Tulia to the Black Wings. She left with her parents but decided that they would split up because her mom was getting tired and her dad couldn't protect them both. Tulia thought she could get them to follow her and leave her parents alone. Austin has been searching for Tulia for at least a week if not two when he finds her being attacked by the enemy dragons. He kills two of them while she paralyzes the third. She doesn't trust anyone so when Austin comes near her she gets out another stake with the drug hemlock on it but trips and scratches herself with it. Of course that paralyzes her for a little while. He takes her to somewhere safe until she recovers. Then they go after her parents. There are quite a few chase and fight scenes in the book. Once Tulia decides she can trust him and mate him things get a little better. We get a ZHEA with a few ups and downs. Nice addition to the series.
I voluntarily received an advance copy of this book for review. Being on the run from her current clan, Tulia has a hard time trusting any males because of what she has dealt with and seen from her own clans betrayal to their women. When she runs into Austin, her rescuer, her mind hasn't changed and she is a spit fire for sure. Will he be able to win her trust and finally act on the mate calling or will she let her fears follow her and leave him alone in life? What a wonder, as usual, set of characters. Lots of action fighting in the air and on land, but what about in the sheets? Gotta read to find out.
Dragon-shifter Tulia is on the run from her Alpha’s henchmen, and about to possibly sacrifice herself to allow her parents to escape. Austin is sent to find Tulia also; but to bring her back to Glen Farley under the protection of the Dragon Blood clan. He doesn’t know until he scents her – that she is his mate!!
Tulia remains unsure of who to trust, but Austin proves himself to be respectful and sexy as they work to locate her parents and stay ahead of those who would harm Tulia.
Full of danger, intrigue, and romance in this exciting world of dragons!!

One after the other, the members of the Dragon Bood Clan find their mates. This time it is Austin and Tulia's story. Austin is sent to save Tulia from the clutches of a raiding dragon band, but finds that she is already on the run by herself. The race to find her, turns into a dangerous undertaking. And even when they believe they are at last save from their pursuers they attack again. But in the end they do get their HEA. And the clan is ever growing. I volontarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
This book made me want a dragon shifter of my very own! I haven't read any of the others in this series and it didn't hamper my enjoyment of this one at all. Austin is one HOT dragon shifter on assignment to protect a rare female dragon in Tulia. Just his luck Tulia is his fated mate. Too bad she has no trust for male dragons since they have treated so poorly and are hunting her down to sell her off to another clan. This story made me happy to read. I requested this book from the author so that I could provide a review.
Austin is the latest member of the Dragon Blood Clan to find his mate. Assigned to find and protect Tulia (dragon shifter), he discovers she's his mate. Tulia has been mistreated and abused by male dragons and wants nothing to do with Austin. Austin has his hands full protecting Tulia and trying to gain her trust. Action, suspense and romance. This book can be read as a standalone but the series is worth the read. No cliffhanger and Hea. I voluntarily received this arc in exchange for an honest opinion.
A great short story, So far the BEST of the series! Great beginning with a FULL complete story arc that not only incorporated the beginning couples, but also the 4th book that felt like was from a complete different arc yet this volume incorporated that storyline flawlessly in an enjoyable emotional way that was great! Story kept you going entire time, full action, humor, drama & sexy romance! Author has definitely gotten a hand in a Great short story flow in this chapter and highly recommended!
What an exciting and amazing story! Tulia and her parents were on the run. Tulia had been sold to another clan by their clan leader and it was definitely not a good thing for any of them! Austin had been hired to find and protect Tulia, but the dragons hunting her got to her first! This story starts off with a bang and doesn't slow down. A definitely adventurous tale you won't want to miss!
What a great addition to this series. Good action, rotten baddies, two interesting lead H's and of course the clan. Great to have some of the previous characters making appearances. Lots happening in the background for future books. One of the reasons I love this series is that some of the heroines are shifters too which is a nice change from human women. This is my honest review of this book.
Another great adventure with the Dragon Blood clan finding their mate. These stories find our dragon males coming to the aid of another and in turn rewarded with love. There is lot's of action, in this one our female is an active participant, and we get involvement from other members of the clan.
I received an ARC of this story and have chosen to voluntarily review it here.
I really enjoyed this dragon romance. There is plenty of action and some hot scenes. I love the chemistry between the main characters. And their inner dragons just make you laugh. If you enjoy paranormal romances then you will want to read this book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of the book.
Austin and Tulia had to fight for their lives and their love from the beginning. Austin proved time and time again that he would do anything to protect his mate and her family. Tulia showed Austin that she was small but mighty. Their love as strong! Austin was reunited with the sister he had to leave behind. A very happy ending.
Another good book added to the series. how would you like to have to be on the run to save your own life? Truthfully not just your own life but your parents too.
There is nothing better than a good chase and fight action to keep a reader interested. Family bonds come into play awaking longing for missing family.
Tulia is trying to run from her abusive clan with her parents. Austin is hunting for Tulia to keep her safe for a friend. Their adventure begins when he happens upon her as she is fighting off her clan. I highly recommend this book and series.
Enjoyed reading this book, it has a great storyline. Can't wait for more from this author. I received a FREE ARC copy to read voluntarily for an honest review.
